A pensioner has claimed he gave hospital staff the ‘fright of their lives’ when he woke up in a morgue surrounded by corpses having been declared dead.
Evgeny Grechko, 68, from the village of Uspenka in north-eastern Kazakhstan, had been taken into hospital suffering from tuberculosis. But as his condition deteriorated he was placed in intensive care, where he spent four days before being declared dead. His daughter Irina said:
‘He fell ill and was taken away by nurses. When I arrived at the hospital I was told I was not allowed to see him.On the fourth day a nurse told me he had died. But in fact he was still alive, and when he woke up he found himself surrounded by corpses.
The pensioner confirmed:
‘When I woke up I looked around me and saw the morgue workers moving bodies around.’They then saw me sitting up and had the fright of their lives. They ran off and came back with some doctors who moved me out.’
However, the hospital has denied it ever made a mistake and has accused the man of making up the whole thing.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer for the region, Rizvana Smagulova said:
‘Doctors confirm that the patient was taken to the regional TB hospital for specific treatment.’On the day in question, the man had a severe increase in blood pressure which could have led to him having a stroke and he was put into intensive care.’Perhaps when his situation was deteriorating and his blood pressure increased, he woke up and thought he was somewhere else.’
The Chicago Bulls have sacked head coach Tom Thibodeau.
The sack doesn’t come as a surprise, as the Bulls, in recent years, have struggled to become a force in the post season.
A statement by Bulls chairman Jerry Reinsdorf stated:
“The Chicago Bulls have a history of achieving great success on and off the court. These accomplishments have been possible because of an organizational culture where input from all parts of the organization has been welcomed and valued, there has been a willingness to participate in a free flow of information, and there have been clear and consistent goals. While the head of each department of the organization must be free to make final decisions regarding his department, there must be free and open interdepartmental discussion and consideration of everyone’s ideas and opinions. These internal discussions must not be considered an invasion of turf, and must remain private. Teams that consistently perform at the highest levels are able to come together and be unified across the organization-staff, players, coaches, management and ownership. When everyone is on the same page, trust develops and teams can grow and succeed together. Unfortunately, there has been a departure from this culture. To ensure that the Chicago Bulls can continue to grow and succeed, we have decided that a change in the head coaching position is required. Days like today are difficult, but necessary for us to achieve our goals and fulfill our commitments to our fans. I appreciate the contributions that Tom Thibodeau made to the Bulls organization. I have always respected his love of the game and wish him well in the future.”
The Bulls made the playoffs in all five seasons with Thibodeau at the helm, but injuries to key personnel amongst other things prevented him from being a factor.
“I’m Konfuzed, I always thought I knew the concept of love. Fame and Money can get in the way of that. Most of my issues always deal with love and me being in my feelings. Not to mention me being a dog sometimes. I can’t speak for everyone but I can say that my actions contributed a lot to my karma. Being jealous and angry and controlling. There has been times where I looked in the mirror and hated the person I see. I talk to God a lot now. He’s given me so much and I feel like I waste his gifts becuz of my impulsive personality. The world is full of negativity and I feel I play a part in it becuz of the choices I’ve made or mistakes. I tend to accept the negative or the riff raff becuz I know what it’s like to be a young black “nigga” in America. I always see the good in people even when they don’t see it. I love others more than myself at times. Everything u see on the surface does not reflect what’s inside. This is my white flag. I surrender to life and all its blessings. I refuse to be petty and attention seeking. To know me is to love me. Good Bad UGLY! Sincerely, Konfuzed”

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Bayelsa State has pleaded with the incoming Mohammadu Buhari-led administration not to prosecute the outgoing Goodluck Jonathan-led government.
Lionel Jonathan-Omo, who is the former commissioner for agriculture, and environment, has disclosed that any move by the president-elect, Muhammadu Buhari to put on trial President Goodluck Jonathan when he gets into power may result in violent uprising in the Niger Delta region.
While speaking to reporters, he presented a 54 page letter to Buhari titled: ‘Road map to Success.’
He said: “As you take over power please don’t prosecute or persecute President Jonathan, you will indirectly provoke a recrudescence of violence in the Niger Delta. Young boys will hang on that as a subterfuge to cause violent uprising again in the Niger Delta. Avoid it completely.”
“I am convinced that Buhari will succeed because of his unflagging desire to rule Nigeria. He has an internal motivation to do the job, and that internal motivation will transform to vision,” he concluded.
Michel Platini, president of UEFA, with tears has revealed that he appealed to FIFA president, Sepp Blatter to stand down as president of FIFA.
Football’s governing body took a hit after several of its officers were arrested in an FBI-led investigation into corruption and money laundering dating as far back as the early 1990s.
Blatter has not been implicated in the enquiry but there have been widespread calls for the Swiss to resign given that it has been alleged by the US Justice Department that corruption was widespread within Fifa.
Though support for Prince Ali is growing, it is believed that Blatter will win the election and embark on his fifth tenure as president of FIFA.
The former France international told reporters on Thursday: “I told him, ‘Sepp, I’d like to speak to you man to man, face to face.’ He said, ‘It’s too late. I can’t all of a sudden leave when congress starts this afternoon.’
“I told Sepp Blatter to leave, to step down, because he is giving Fifa a terrible image.
“It’s not easy to tell a friend that he must leave but that is the way history is going.
“I’m saying this with sadness, with tears in my eyes. There have been too many scandals.”
