I Don’t Want To Go To Benfica: Nani

Featured Image

Nani spent last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon and wasn’t always the inspiring figure they thought he would be on the pitch but the Portuguese winger is turning down an opportunity to return to Portugal with Benfica.

Benfica are currently reported to be interested in the 27 year old who has been told by Van Gall that he can leave the club as the Dutchman is looking to use him help complete a move for Harry Kane. Nani is currently with the Portuguese squad and when asked about a possible move to Benfica, “No, I don’t think about possibly signing for Benfica and I don’t want to talk about it as I said before,” he said ahead “My focus is with Portugal right now and I am just thinking about our next game and my holiday afterwards.”

Nani might want to start considering his future beyond the holidays because there reportedly isn’t one for him at Old Trafford, not as a player at least.

Featured Image

A passenger, Mr. Ovuironye Mathew Dennis, travelling onboard a 6.45am Aero flight on Monday was caught while stealing about N350, 000 from a luggage belonging to an Austrian, Novotny Anton, another passenger on the flight.

Dennis, 31 with 1.65 height as captured in his temporary driver’s licence and seating on flight seat No. 23C was spotted by a member of the airline’s cabin crew when he removed the Austrian’s bag from the cockpit as if he was changing his seat.

The suspect had removed the bag from the cockpit where the Austrian sat, took it to his own seat, giving impression that he was changing his seat and stole a sum of N150, 000 and 500 Euros belonging to the Austrian.

But he ran out of luck when a female cabin crew raised alarm, asked him to remain seated while he was trying to return the bag to the cockpit before the Austrian could suspect any foul play.

“While trying to return the bag I asked him to seat down. But he became uncomfortable before the plane landed and the white man raised alarm that he couldn’t find his bag,” she said.

Immediately the plane landed at the Abuja airport, the Austrian couldn’t find his bag and raised alarm, but the cabin crew member told him to check the bag with Dennis.

After the suspect was stripped Unclad, he told other angry passengers that he mistakenly took the bag in question for his own.
The Austrian later discovered that the sum of N150, 000 and 500 Euros had been taken from the bag.
Other passengers immediately descended on the thieving Dennis.

Morally Distasteful Photo Of What A Teenage Girl Wore To An Occasion

Featured Image

It’s a shame! It’s terribly funny how parents in morally conservative Nigeria will go to the market and buy an outfit with such inscription for their kids.

This is utterly provocative! Fashion has just been assassinated. Gazing at the little boy, who is covered in a green and white gown, i can tell this to be a religious ground.

Nigerians! Can you buy or allow someone you know, wear this for an event?

ASUP Urges FG To Review Polytechnic Education

Featured Image

The National President of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Prof. Chibuzo Asomugha, has urged the Federal Government to review the current state of Polytechnics in the country.

Speaking during the 81st National Executive Council meeting of ASUP in Offa, Kwara State, Asomugha said, “There is no understanding of what we really want polytechnic education to be. We have deviated from the original vision and there is no focus. There is hardly any technical intent in the delivery of polytechnic education and we must return to the basis.

“This dovetails into what happens in the wider economy, in the industries and private sector. There is no contact between the industries and the schools. We are just producing polytechnic graduates without being able to know where they will fit in.”

He reminded that president Buhari during his campaign promised to look into issues surrounding dichotomy between Higher National Diploma graduates and their B.Sc. Counterparts, lamenting the fact that the present structure makes it that candidates who seek for admission into polytechnics are those who are deemed not fit to gain admission into the university which is not supposed to be so.

“We tasked the past government to monitor its funding of the sector. Don’t just throw money in a system. With all the money that government is parading that it has thrown into the system, government has not gotten better result because of lack of proper monitoring.” He concluded.

Buhari’s One-Term Promise Tears APC Chiefs Apart

Featured Image

Following the solemn vow by the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari not to rerun for presidency in 2019, the party’s leadership have started to rip into shreds.

If not quickly resolved, the intrigues may make governing Herculean in the next four years, as politicians of different ideological backgrounds are forging informal alliances.

The ruling party’s source revealed that “the decision of President Buhari not to run in 2019 is already tearing the party into shreds as potential aspirants for the office are already mobilizing across parties and geo- political zones to forge a realignment for the contest.”

It was learnt that the visit by Akpabio and Agbaje to the Abuja residence of Atiku, is the beginning of the much-expected realignment and coming together of former PDP political heavy weights across the nation before the commencement of the onslaught on the factionalized APC.

It was also gathered that the visit to the residence of Atiku by the Senate President Bukola Saraki, shortly after being sworn, was a confirmation that Atiku was one those who pulled the strings for his success at election.

The former Vice President, it was reliably gathered is still eyeing the presidency and the decision of Buhari to run for one term has further given the Adamawa politician the verve to start making contacts across party divides.

Chelsea Ready To Expand Stamford Bridge

Featured Image

Chelsea Football Club are now ready to push on with plans to redevelop Stamford Bridge rather build a new stadium completely from scratch.

Chelsea have bowed to pressure from its fans and a redeveloped stadium could see Stamford Bridge rise from just below 42,000 to 60,000.

Chelsea will reveal their proposals to local residents and supporters at an exhibition at Stamford Bridge

The said exhibition will open on June 30 and be available for viewing until July 2.

Among the proposals, which could cost as much as £500m, is to lower the pitch below street level with an extra tier of seating, similar to Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

The work could take three years, with Chelsea looking for a temporary home in the meantime – they were previously reported to be talking to Twickenham and Wembley over such a move earlier in the process.

A club statement read

: “A year ago a study of the area from Fulham Broadway to Stamford Bridge and beyond was commissioned by Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich to examine the potential of upgrading the streetscape.

“The study also began to assess the feasibility of an expansion of the stadium capacity within the existing historical site boundary, based on the principles of improving site access, benefiting the neighbourhood and enhancing the spectator experience.

“Mr Abramovich has appointed a professional team to assess, in more detail, the feasibility of expanding the existing stadium capacity at Stamford Bridge Grounds.
