Stand in captain Gary Cahill has urged his men not to take their upcoming friendlies with levity.
The Chelsea centre back was named captain, with Wayne Rooney out with a knee injury.
England will fave Germany tomorrow and Netherlands on Tuesday, with Cahill citing the importance of both matches.
“It is a chance [to lay down a marker],” he said at his pre-match media conference. “We know ourselves it’s a friendly, but at the same time there are no friendly games for England.
“We want to play the right way, but we know we are going to be judged, especially against tough opposition. We just want to keep going the same way and play how we have been playing
“It’s another great test against a great opposition and one we are all looking forward to. We have got two more games and at the end of them it gives us a chance to see where we are playing against top players.”
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has hinted at a possible exit from Barcelona, should he not be given the first team football he so desires.
The German shotstopper is used predominantly in the Copa del Rey and Champions League, with Navas used in the La Liga.
The 23-year-old is not satisfied with that and has now given a strong indication that he could consider leaving Camp Nou should the current rotation policy continue.
“I want to take the next step and to play more. So the situation is clear: if nothing changes, we have to talk,” he told TZ.
“In football, sometimes things go very quickly.
“At the end of the season I’ll have played about 25 games. This is not a little, but when I return from the national team, I’ll probably be back on the bench in La Liga, for the Clasico against Real Madrid [on April 2].
“In the long run, these 25 games per season are not enough for me.
“The decision is made by the coach. I hope that the quality I’ve shown recently is rewarded.”
Ter Stegen, currently on international duty with Germany, joined Barca from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2014.
This had struck up controversy on social media, with fans saying it was impossible for the Laye singer to be 21 years old. This was because Kiss Daniel graduated from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta three years ago, after studying a 5-year course.
That would make him 13 years old at the time of admission, which seemed almost improbable. However, the singer’s Wikipedia page now shows his correct age, 28.
In other less controversial news, Daniel will be releasing his debut album, New Era, soon. Are you excited about it?

Germany defender Mats Hummels admits Bastian Schweinsteiger’s knee injury is a cause for concern for the team.
The Germany captain suffered a partial ligament tear in his left knee in training and will not be available for the friendlies against England and Italy.
Reports also suggest the Manchester United man could be absent for the Euro 2016, but Hummels hopes he is fit enough to play in the tournament.
“Of course, we all feel for Bastian after what happened,” Hummels told the official German Football Association (DFB) website.
“Everybody who has recurring injury problems knows how frustrating this can be.
“It is very annoying for Bastian, but also for the team. He is our captain. I obviously hope his injury will not keep him out of the Euros.
“We know that Bastian, like any other player, will be focused on getting back as soon as possible. The first day is all about frustration when you get injured, but from there on, you are entirely focused on making your comeback as soon as possible.”

The name Israel Houghton may seem strange to you if you are not in the gospel circle.
However, he is a huge deal and has won five Grammy Awards, 13 Dove Awards, two Stellar Awards and a Soul Train Music Award. He released hits like He Knows My Name, You Are Alpha And Omega, You Hold My Life In Your Hands.
Still don’t know him?
Here’s a photo below:
So, not long ago, Israel took to his Facebook page to announce that he and his wife, Meleasa who have been married for twenty years had just divorced.
He posted the breaking news on Facebook (it’s been since deleted), “Several years ago I failed and sinned in my marriage. … Although we tried, the challenges in our relationship have proven too much to overcome. We have always handled our family and ministry with grace and generosity toward others, discretion, and privacy.
Israel is the senior worship leader at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church. He and Meleasa, parents of three children, founded New Breed Ministries in 1995. New Breed comprises of musicians and singers who lead within their respective churches and, together, minister at other churches and massive concerts.
“I am in the process of restoration and I have repented for my actions. Although I am sincerely sorry, and forgiven, I soberly realize that I will live with the consequences of my failings for the rest of my life,” Houghton posted on Facebook.
“As this has become a public matter I want to apologize to the many who have supported my ministry through the years. I’m sorry for the many who will be hurt to learn of my personal failure. I regret any pain or disappointment that this news may cause you. We thank you for your prayers and for allowing us to handle this privately with those who are set over us in this process,” Houghton concluded.
Many were sad to learn on this shocking news but roughly a month later, more shocking news was revealed when Israel was spotted with his new woman Adrienne Bailon.
Now, you know her, right? Please tell me you do. Remember 3LW (3 Little Women), the girls that sang No More and Playas Gon’ Play?
Well, here’s Adrienne below with her ex, Rob Kardashian
Yep they so dated. But that was a while ago.
The 32-year-old started off something new with Lenny Santiago, Roc Nation music executive, and got engaged but they broke it off just last year.
We were not told the real reason for their breakup but speculations have now arisen that Israel might be part of it. The same way, Adrienne is being accused of having a hand in his divorce, although there’s no proof to any of this.
Israel Houghton went on Facebook in a long epistle to clear any speculations that stem around him having had an affair with Bailon while being married to his ex, Maleasa.
“I met Adrienne Bailon a bit over 2 years ago, we worked together & became friends… Our circles connected & we remained good friends. From a friendship, as two single adults we have very recently begun to explore a dating relationship,” he shared. “As I previously wrote in a statement I released a while back, My marriage had been over for quite some time before going public with my divorce announcement.”
Adrienne also went on Instagram to write, “You can body shame me… that’s fine. But please don’t insult my character & my integrity.”
The couple first met on the 2013 filmI’m in Love With a Church Girl. Adrienne starred in the movie which Houghton produced.
There were also rumors indicating Israel was put on indefinite leave because of this mess withAdrienne Bailon but his rep has spoken out, debunking the allegations.
“Israel has been on staff at Lakewood for 15 years since 2001 (not 2011) and actually remains officially on staff,” the rep states. “He was never suspended, nor was he put on an indefinite leave but is on a personal sabbatical of his choosing.”
Both Israel and Adrienne have denied any form of dirty business. They are both adults enjoying a healthy dating relationship.
Despite the purported remorse demonstrated by Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, in an online video making the rounds, the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has vowed that the Nigerian Armed Forces will not relent in its operations against insurgency in North-East Nigeria.
Read excerpt of the press statement titled: ‘No Save Haven For Terrorists’ below.
“It has come to the notice of the Defence Headquarters about the online video clips purportedly released by the Boko Haram Terrorists Leader, Abubakar Shekau or his replica in Arabic and Hausa Languages showing remorse and asking for forgiveness.
The DHQ wishes to state emphatically that not minding the contents of the video clips, the Armed Forces of Nigeria would continue to fight in order to consolidate the successes recorded so far and assuring Nigerians that no inch of the Nigerian territory would be allowed to be bastardized by any force of darkness again.
The DHQ is also reassuring the good citizens of our great country that all captives under the coffer of the Boko Haram Terrorists, would regain their freedom with the ongoing military’s final offensive against the terrorists.
While the Nigerian Military would not rest until all the remnants of the terrorist group are completely wiped out of our blessed land, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin, wishes to commend all officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces for their sacrifices, determination and courage to degrade the terrorists and task them to complete the good job they have started soonest in line with our rules of engagement.
The said video clips should therefore be discountenanced as it could be another ploy or antics of the terrorists to keep our innocent citizen off their current security alertness to maximize casualties if attacked. The Nigerian Armed Forces are now determined more than ever before to end this ugly trend.
Members of the public are also advised not to be carried away by the video clips, but to be extra vigilant and be security conscious at all times during Easter celebration and beyond. Public is also reminded to report any suspicious strange faces, movement and object to the nearest security agency so as to counter any unholy plans of the Godless terrorist group

Shekau, the leader of the nefarious death society had on Thursday staged a return more than one year after his last appearance on video, hinting that his “end” as the sect’s leader “has come.
“For me, the end has come”, he said in a video message without his usual defiance, taunts and denunciation of the country’s leaders.
Speaking on his rumoured death, Shekau said: “This is a message of greeting and joy for you to see my face. This is my desire: that whoever sees this will hear nothing but greetings between me and you. Only Allah knows the rest, as you believed [and] as you submitted. For me the end has come.
“This is only the message I want to send to you to understand that this is certainly I. This is why I did this.”
Reacting swiftly to the eight minutes footage, the military said it was studying the video to determine its authenticity.
It will be recalled, Shekau had been reportedly killed several times since the start of the insurgency only for him to reappear in video messages.
The military believes several lookalikes have since stood in for him.

Mrs. Botoku held that the duo report at the State Criminal Investigations and intelligence Department, SCIID, Panti-Yaba, between the hours of 10.00 a.m., and 5.00 p.m., everyday until the police investigations were concluded.
She also asked them to submit their International passports to the court, adding that they were not allowed to travel out of the country till all investigations have been concluded.
On Tuesday, March 8, 2016, a five storey building collapsed in the highbrow Lekki Gardens estate, and 35 people reportedly died.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Botoku had on March 11 ordered the remand of Robert Nyong, MD of Lekki Garden Homes and Taiwo Odofin, one of the contractors handling the project at their first arraignment following a remand application brought before it by the police.
The police had urged the court to remand the two defendants pending when they would conclude investigations.
President Muhammadu Buhari has on Thursday likened Rivers State as Nigeria’s most deadly state, even as he tendered an unreserved apology for the ill-tempered elections conducted under his watch in Kogi, Bayelsa and Rivers states.
This is just as he said his administration had so far raked N3 trillion into the Treasury Single Account, TSA.
Speaking at the first National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abuja this year, the president, who appealed for understanding from party members, nevertheless charged Nigerians to rise to the situation as he particularly charged militants in the Niger Delta that continuous sabotage of oil facilities was doing the people more harm than good.
He said: “I am afraid I did not succeed in the election in Kogi, Bayelsa, Rivers. I think that more Nigerians are killed or killed themselves in Rivers than in any particular state. At this stage of our political development, to remain brutal is shameful and as a government, I promise we will do something by the next general election.
Reacting to conflicting signals from Niger Delta militants, the president said:
“Some have said they are ready to drop their arms and join the rest of the nation to build it. But part of them are still sabotaging installations which is making investments in that lucrative area of Nigeria difficult because nobody will submit his riches to financial institutions, get money only to suffer huge loss.
“So, the environment for investment is being sabotaged by ourselves, Nigerians. We are doing our best with the military by trying to persuade them to join the rest of the country because in unity lies our strength.
Speaking on the huge benefit reaped from the decision to fully implement the TSA, he said:
“The Central Bank Governor, will tell you that in the TSA, we have more than N3 trillion. Where would this money have been if TSA was not in vogue? I was made to understand that vouchers would have quickly been raised towards the end of the financial year and cheques made.
Whether they are going into projects or private pockets, nobody can prove it to you. But that money is there, it is identified, it is quantified and when the budget comes back eventually, the Ministry of Finance will see how to allocate it to the rest of the country.”
“We have to get credible evidence to carry out successful prosecution and get judgement from the Judiciary. But effort is being made to give a list of recoveries in whatever currencies so far so that Nigerians will know that it is not all about long stories.”
“So, please, try to bear with us as we reflect on where we found ourselves,” Buhari pleaded.
President Muhammadu Buhari has on Thursday expressed remorse over February’s dismissal of the Boards of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and the 12 Federal universities that were established by the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The president made this disclosure known at the opening of the meeting of the National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja.
President Buhari said he had to rescind the blanket order for the suspension or dissolving of the Universities Boards, after discovering that according to extant laws of the universities, Vice Chancellors can’t be chosen unless the Boards sit down, interview prospective candidates who want to be VCs.
He said: “When we came in after 16 years of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, each government had 42 ministries. We reduced them to 24, removed 21 Permanent Secretaries. We sat down and reflected seriously. We were all in the process of taking over at a time of national budget. So, imagine the volume of work and with what happened in the National Assembly, the padding, it would appear that below the Permanent Secretaries, there are still a lot of bureaucracies that are still with them. So, you have to appreciate the position we are in. Having cut 42 to 24, correspondingly, the parastatals will be cut down to some size and realigned and the boards reconstituted.
“We gave a blanket order which we had to rescind when we said all boards are suspended or dissolved. We had to go back and lick our vomit in terms of university boards because we found out that according to their laws, they cannot choose Vice Chancellors unless the Boards sit down, interview prospective candidates who wants to be VCs. So, there is nothing wrong in saying sorry and going back on your decision. So, we said sorry and allow all the universities to continue with their boards. But for the rest, eventually, we will make it. So, please, try to bear with us as we reflect on where we found ourselves.”
On February 13, 2016, the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, in a terse statement declared that the president had wielded the dismissal stick on 13 vice chancellors of the Federal universities under the administration of Dr. Jonathan.
He also approved the appointment of new vice chancellors for the 12 Federal Universities and the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) with effect from Friday, February 12, 2016.
