Akinsanya, who is popularly known as MC Oluomo, was said to have celebrated his birthday at The Place in GRA Ikeja, and had asked female attendees to come without wearing underwear.

Speaking to Encomium however, Akinsanya denied the reports, saying those women photographed were not his guests.

He said: “We all know how big D’Place is, and a lot of people come there, including prostitutes. They only took the pictures of some prostitutes and club girls who were not part of the event, who didn’t even get close to the venue where they organized the party for me, and they posted the pictures to depict my guests.

“If you check the pictures very well, you will agree with me that they’re club girls, not my guests. To cry out loud, I am a devout Muslim which I believe everybody knows. I pray five times daily, and I have been to Mecca, Saudi Arabia for both lesser Hajj and full Hajj many times. Not only that, I have also sent a lot of people to Mecca on pilgrimage, and of course which I do every year.

“How, for God’s sake, can I be involved in such immorality? How can I organize that kind of a party? What do I stand to gain from such a thing? For instance, you as a man, if I invite your wife to such a party, will you allow her to come? At this juncture, I believe you also should understand that the whole thing was fabricated by enemies of progress whose aim was to bring me down.

“But my belief is that the house God has built, no one can demolish it. I know I have enemies and there are opposition here and there who may want to do everything to malign me. That can’t happen because Allah is solidly behind me.”

Gomez: We Were Stupid To Lose To England

Featured Image

Mario Gomez has said Germany were stupid to throw away their two goal lead in the 3-2 loss to England.

Gomez scored his first international goal since the Euro 2012 and had another wrongly ruled offside.

England fought back, with Kane, Vardy and Dier completing the comeback.

Germany now face Italy in Munich and Gomez is wary of his side repeating the same errors against a country who have not lost in their last seven matches against Die Mannschaft.

“I think that we set ourselves up in the right way but in spite of that, it is perhaps natural to take your foot off the gas when you are 2-0 up in a friendly,” the Besiktas striker, on loan from Fiorentina, told the DFB’s official website.

“It’s just how it is. We gave England a lot of room and they are blessed with a lot of individual quality. We were stupid to have lost this game.

“We lost our way and left too much space, which England used well. They scored two goals from set plays. We knew they would be dangerous from those situations and they showed that.”

He added: “We weren’t good in the last 30 minutes and we need to look at that. We have to remain focused over the full 90 minutes, even if we are 2-0 up.

“We can’t let it happen again as teams like England can take full advantage. In a major tournament, that results in you going home. That much is clear to us.

“Italy will obviously be a tough game as they have a good team and traditionally play very well against Germany. I think it’s important to play well and get a good result to begin our preparations for the summer in a positive way.”

West Ham Are Interested In Ibrahimovic

Featured Image

West Ham have stated they’re interested in bringing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the club come summer, but David Sullivan doesn’t think he’ll be interested.

The Sweden international has a contract that’ll expire at the end of the season and will leave France after winning four trophies in four years.

And Ibrahimovic who has 102 goals from 116 appearances in the ligue 1, could join West Ham.

“We have a list of about ten strikers all over Europe, and most of our money will go into signing a striker,” Sullivan told talkSPORT. “That is the plan for next season.

“I’d love Ibrahimovic from PSG, but whether he’d come to us I don’t know. I know he’s 34 but he’s a fantastic player.

“There are a number of top Premier League players we may be bidding for, top goalscorers, but I can’t name them. I can’t comment on players from other teams.

“The squad we have at West Ham now is the best we’ve had in six years, by a long, long way. We will be adding to that squad in the summer and hopefully we’ll be a bit better next year.”

Wenger: I’ll Be At Arsenal Next Season

Featured Image

Arsene Wenger has reveals he will continue as Arsenal manager next season.

There have been banners at the emirates calling for Wenger’s resignation, following their exit from the FA cup, UCL and slipping in the EPL.

But the French manager has revealed he will stay one more season, which is the final year of his three year contract.

“During the season, [that criticism] was not very welcome when you fight for the championship, especially after the Tottenham game, when we were a bit unlucky,” he told beIN Sports.

“I give my best to the club I love and if I can share that love with the supporters it’s even better. I want to make sure that I give my best and that I put my knowledge at the disposal of the team.

“I am committed and have no doubt I will be there next season.”

Despite the pressure, Wenger insists that he is only thinking about his own team’s performances as they look to keep up a distant title bid over the last stretch of the season.

“I don’t worry too much about the rest – what people say,” he affirmed.

“All the rest is judgement, opinions and that is linked with belief from the last disappointment or result.

“In my job I focus on how we perform. In life, it’s very important you focus on what you are appointed for – and I am appointed to perform and do the best for my club.

“My future is my future, I don’t master that.”

The movie was previously scheduled to release in May, but was moved up to avoid competition with Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War, a decision which has clearly worked out well for them.

“Fans around the world have embraced the movie,” said Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. distribution executive vice president. “The beauty of moving our date is that strategically it allowed us to open up around the world at the same time and in a time frame where there’s not a lot of competition.”

Shia Muslim Community Distances Itself From Kidnap Of Nigerian Army Colonel

Featured Image

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria also known as Shi’ites has dissociated itself from the abduction of Colonel Samaila Inusa who was kidnapped in the weekend.

READ ALSO: Nigerian Army Colonel Abducted In Kaduna

The Nigerian Army had on Sunday, confirmed the abduction of Colonel Inusa by unknown gunmen in Kaduna on Saturday night.

An online media house had on Sunday cited an intelligence officer as saying that the abduction might not be unconnected to a reprisal mission by the Shiite Islamic sect against the Army over the deadly clash in Zaria last year.

However, a statement on Monday by Ibrahim Musa, the President, Media Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, said: “Our attention has been drawn to a false, unsubstantiated and mischievous claim, that looks more like a planned operation aimed at painting the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) black, of some ‘intelligence’ report that the IMN may plan kidnap of military officers for ransom for the release of our revered leader, His Eminence Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky.

“Typically, this was followed by the alleged kidnap of an Army officer in Kaduna with the Nigerian Army issuing statement calling on the public to give information that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators. Soon, some media outlets were quick to quote these malicious sources linking the IMN with the alleged kidnap.”

“We wish to categorically state here that the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of His Eminence, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has never, is not and will never engage in any form of crime to meet any of its objectives. Crime and criminal activities are fundamentally sinful and are not in our character.

“The Islamic Movement knows that due to official administrative ineptitude and official negligence of constituted authority, a lot of crimes including kidnapping are prevalent in the country.

“As a religious body, the IMN condemns and preaches against all forms of crime. Therefore, it is virtually illogical and unreasonable for anyone to presume that the IMN would turn around to engage in such acts of immorality.”

“It has conducted its activities in the most civilized manner and cannot in any way be derailed from that golden track record. IMN will therefore never be lured or diverted into any form of crime or violence.

“It is obvious that the government and its Army are going further with their plans of campaign of calumny and false propaganda against the Movement ranging from smear documentaries on Television networks, advertorials in daily newspapers, sponsoring fake non-governmental organizations and engagement of some very dubious characters to malign the IMN and its leadership, to engaging in organized crimes and attributing same to the Movement.

“We wish to categorically state here that the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of His Eminence, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has never, is not and will never engage in any form of crime to meet any of its objectives. “Therefore, it is virtually illogical and unreasonable for anyone to presume that the IMN would turn around to engage in such acts of immorality. The IMN is a peaceful mass Movement, with enlightened and responsible members. For close to four decades now, it has conducted its activities in the most civilized manner and cannot in any way be derailed from that golden track record. IMN will therefore never be lured or diverted into any form of crime or violence.

“We are forced to believe that the government and its Army are resorting to these vicious campaigns in desperation.

“Finally, we would like to use this platform to echo our call on the government and its Army to own up to their crimes and release the revered leader of the Movement Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky and other members unconditionally.”

Meanwhile, the Army had earlier on Monday promised a million naira reward for anyone with useful information that could lead to the rescue of Colonel Inusa.

Of Tyrants, Martyrs And Heroes (1) – Fani-Kayode

Featured Image

Apart from the fact that he was a passionate Puritan, a man of prayer and a devout and practicing Christian, the thing that I admire the most about Oliver Cromwell (1599-1658), the British Member of Parliament and nobleman, the Lord Protector of the Commonwealth of England, Scotland and Ireland and the father of parliamentary democracy in the United Kingdom, is the fact that he was a man of immense courage.

He entertained no fear when he was faced with tyranny and when threatened with torture, incarceration and death by his adversary, King Charles 1st of England.

Everything came to a head in the House of Commons when the King stormed Parliament with his soldiers to effect the arrest of five people, including Cromwell. On hearing about the King’s approach, four of those to be arrested fled the House of Commons but Cromwell refused to do so.

He chose to wait for the King and to face him down once and for all. He took his seat in Parliament and told the House that it was time that “the King and his Majesty be told the bitter truth”. He said, “I shall not take flight like a coward, a scallywag, a pickpocket or a petty thief but I shall take my seat here and tell his Royal Majesty the King precisely how I feel”.

As the King entered Parliament and ordered the arrest of the five M.P’s, he noticed that all had fled except the defiant Cromwell. As he ordered his arrest, Cromwell got up and proclaimed that by that single order and act the King was risking civil war. He then proceeded to lecture the King about the power of Parliament and moved a motion that it was rather the King that ought to be arrested for treason against Parliament and the good people of England.

The House erupted in applause. They shouted in a great uproar and supported Cromwell’s motion for the arrest of the King.

The King was shocked beyond belief. He left Parliament badly humiliated: for the first time in his life and in the life of the English monarchy, he had been challenged, faced down and humiliated by one of his own subjects in the open glare of Parliament.

Thereafter came civil war and the defeat and ultimate beheading of Charles 1st, the first King to be executed in the history of England.

What died with him was the concept and philosophy of the “divine right of Kings” and from that point Parliament became supreme and England became a democracy. Cromwell headed the Round-head Army during the civil war and after the war he was appointed Lord Protector of England and ruled for many years.

He rededicated the nation to God and in his years the fortunes of England became manifold. Cromwell transformed England into one of the greatest powers on earth and he established the foundation of what was to later become the British Empire, one of the greatest empires ever known to humanity.

Yet to achieve all these, all it took was for one man to say “enough is enough” and defy the tyranny of the King. All it took was for one man to say “I fear not death or arrest or indefinite detention or jail”.

All it took was for one man to say “I do not fear what the tyrant can do to me: it is time to say enough is enough”. Cromwell did that and the history of England changed forever.

Another great man in history was Sir Thomas More (1478-1535), who was a lawyer, a statesman and the Lord High Chancellor of England under King Henry VIII. He was the greatest prisoner of conscience in the history of England, which is why he was elevated to Sainthood by the Catholic Church after his martydom. It was he who refused to violate his moral and religious convictions by supporting the King’s divorce from his first wife, the Spanish Queen Katherine of Aragon.

He was arrested and detained in the Tower of London for his refusal to bow to the King’s whims and caprices. Eventually he was subjected to a show trial in the King’s court and was betrayed and falsely implicated by one of his own protegees who was on the payroll of the King.

Predictably, he was unfairly convicted without just cause after which he was beheaded. Yet he stood firm to the end and refused to recant or change his position. His last words to the London mob that had gathered to witness his execution just before his head was chopped off were, “I die the King’s faithful servant, but God’s first”. Needless to say, he died a true hero, remaining true to his convictions.

Consequently he became one of the greatest martyrs in the history of England and one of the most revered leaders in world history up until today. He was prepared to pay the supreme price for defending and standing on the truth and he refused to give in to fear or to bow to the tyranny of the King and state. His reward was glory and honour from generation to generation and a place at God’s table in heaven.

Sadly the man who ordered his execution, King Henry VIII, did not end so well. He died in his bath whilst in the throes of terrible pain from syphilis.

Worse still, for the five years before he passed on, he suffered immeasurable pain from a terrible wound that simply refused to heal.

It was so bad that it was difficult for members of his family, his Royal Court, visiting dignitaries or indeed anyone else to remain in the same room as him for long because of the terrible stench that emanated from an old wound in his gangrene-infected and rotting right leg.

This was truly shameful and a sad way for a King to spend the last years of his life. This was a man that had beheaded no less than six of his wives, one after the other, simply because they could not bear him a son.

Henry VIII paid the price for his wickedness both on earth and, I daresay, in hell. The Holy Bible says “there shall be no peace for the wicked”. King Henry’s story and his latter days, more than in any other case, proves the efficacy and veracity of that scripture.

In the end Sir Thomas More, the righteous prisoner of conscience who stood on truth and who had his head chopped off for it, prevailed over his tormentor, the wicked King.

He died with his dignity intact and his name clothed with honour and glory, whilst King Henry VIII died like an accursed stray and a rabid old mongrel who had been rejected and abandoned by the Living God.

The courage of men like Oliver Cromwell and Thomas More is not only deeply inspiring but also utterly earth-shaking. Such courage forges the destiny of nations and the future of humanity: it builds and resurrects the glory of nations and it establishes empires.

The ability to risk all for conscience and truth is the life-blood of democracy. The shedding of all fear and the ability to speak truth to power no matter the risks that are involved to life, safety or liberty is the second greatest virtue whilst courage remains the first.

That is where I am today and that is where we are in Nigeria. In our country many have been locked up, are being demonised and humiliated and are facing trial today, not because they have done anything wrong but because they dare to speak the truth and stand up against the government. The response of the state is to criminalise them before the people with all manners of absurd and baseless allegations, to intimidate and attempt to control the judiciary, to condemn them even though they have not been proved guilty by any court of law and to attempt to jail them.

Yet they are prepared for this and they harbour no fear. This is what real men are made of. I am referring to the numerous so-called “enemies of the state” who have been badly misrepresented and maligned, thrown in the darkest dungeons, neglected by the human rights groups, abandoned by the media and subjected to unspeakable horrors.

Today I salute their courage and I prepare to join their noble ranks. I refuse to cower in silence as the state prepares to move against me. My innocence will speak for me and my God will fight for me as I have done no wrong.

Whatever the situation and whatever the case, as long as there is life in me and as long as I am at liberty, I shall continue to speak against the evil in the land that seeks to destroy our people and to break the spirit of our nation.

President Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Sir Ahmadu Bello and even President Muhammadu Buhari paid a heavy price before getting to the top. It is by the grace of God, and not by any power of their own, that they did not perish whilst going through their respective ordeals. They were all persecuted, detained or jailed at some point or other in their lives.

Yet they all came out of their dungeons to either lead the entire country or their respective regions. The Holy Bible says “God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform”. The Lord Himself said “Esau I hate and Jacob I love”. There is always hope for those who are favoured and loved by God. There is always vindication for them. There is always victory for those who have done no wrong and are being persecuted by the state for standing up for the truth. There is always deliverance for those who have wrongly and unjustly been thrown behind bars.

I urge those who have suffered and who will suffer such indignities and ordeals to stand firm and be strong. At the end of the day, the prisoner of conscience, whether he lives or dies, will always prevail. At the end of the day tyrants and bullies are always defeated and put to shame. At the end of the day men and women of courage and conviction always stand tall and proud. At the end of the day the Ancient of Days always shows Himself mighty and strong. (TO BE CONTINUED).

CBN Reacts To Allegation Of ‘Forex Deal’ With Aisha Buhari

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reacted to an allegation by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), that the First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, was involved in round tripping of foreign exchange.

The Apex Bank referred to the allegation as “not only ridiculous but laughable,” as it also cautioned politicians to allow the Bank to concentrate on its work and avoid dragging it into mudslinging attempts for whatever gain.

According to the spokesman of the Apex Bank, Mr. Isaac Okoroafor, the CBN does not sell foreign exchange to individuals or companies. Instead, it sells to banks which sell to their customers.

He also urged politicians to avoid demeaning the reputation of the Bank as any attempt to destroy the bank’s integrity will impact negatively on the nation’s economy.

He said: “Politicians should spare this institution from deliberate falsehood because if they destroy the reputation of the institution, the economy suffers. Politicians should please allow us to do our job in the interest of the economy.”

“With every sense of responsibility, it is important to state that the Central Bank does not sell forex to individuals nor companies. You are aware that we sell forex to banks which in turn sell to their customers. For anyone to say that the CBN sells forex to individuals or some companies is, indeed, very ridiculous and mischievous.

“It was very laughable to say that the CBN sold forex to anyone at N185/$1. The records are there for anyone who is interested to crosscheck. The CBN has not sold the dollar at N185 in recent times. The movement of the exchange rate was N155/$1; N168/ $1; and from there to the current rate of N197/$1.”

Okoroafor called on Nigerians to disregard what he described as “baseless” and “falsehood” that had been trending in the social media.

On Saturday, a verified Twitter handle of the PDP: @PdpNigeria, tweeted that Mrs Buhari and some aides of President Muhammadu Buhari were beneficiaries of dollar allocations from the Governor of the CBN, Mr Godwin Emefiele.

“UltraLight Easter” By Kanye As He Goes Religious In Duet With Kirk Franklin

It’s an “Ultralight Easter” as Kanye West And Kirk Franklin Collaborate On New Song

“UltraLight” which is a new, short-version of Kanye’s “UltralightBeam’ track features Kirk Franklin which he revealed easter Sunday to commemorate the worldwide celebration of the death of Jesus.

Yeezy got Kirk Franklin to drop some spiritual notes in the new single which the father of two shared to his fans.

Kirk Franklin and Kelly Price delivered a power-filled gospel hymn on the two-minute track.

A snip:

“Father, this prayer is for everyone that feels they’re not good enough / This prayer is for everybody that feels that they’re too messed up,”. (“They’re killing our babies in the streets / I call out for hope”), Kirk added while speaking on police brutality to blacks.

Ultralight serves as an extension to “Ultralight Beam” off The Life of Pablo in its two minutes life span, less than the original, Ultralight Beam.

Sharing it on his social media, Kanye captioned it “Ultralight Prayer : Happy Easter!” while posting the direct link to get the song on music distribution site, Soundcloud.

It’s presently under speculation if the “new track was a last-minute addition to his new album, The Life Of Pablo, judging from the fact it wasn’t added to the exclusive TIDAL stream”, according to BET.

Prior to sharing his song on Easter Sunday, Kanye as always, had gone on quite a rant, as always again. One of his posts was about him speaking his mind in public.

“Everyone has made mistakes. I just make them in public”.

In the past the press/old guard and powers that be would have silenced me a long time ago but I have a form of social immunity.

Foreign Airlines Set To Fire 2,000 Nigerian Workers

Featured Image

The National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) has revealed the alleged plans by foreign airlines to sack about two thousand (2,000) Nigerian workers.

NUATE claimed that the rationale behind this is their inability to transfer their earnings to their respective home countries to meet operational costs in accordance with international rules because of the new Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), policy on forex and fund transfer.

In a letter addressed to the Minister of State for Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, the Acting General Secretary of NUATE, Comrade Olayinka Abioye, said the news has jolted the affected workers.

He further called on the Federal Government to wade in and prevent the huge job loss.

He said: “ The reason being adduced for this danger is that their earnings in the past year is under lock with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN , as they are unable to transfer these earnings to their respective home countries to meet operational costs in accordance with international rules.”

“Following concerns raised recently by leaders of these workers and other stakeholders and in appreciation of the good intent of the government’s fiscal policy, we humbly make this clarion call for your (Minister) intervention to grant foreign airlines concession to repatriate their proceeds to their home countries.”

He added that should the foreign airlines go ahead with the sacking of the workers it would not be in the interest of the aviation sector and Nigeria as a whole.

“We hasten to place on the front burner an emerging threat confronting over 2, 000 private sector aviation workers in Nigeria which requires your intervention to forestall imminent loss of jobs of these number of workers,” said Abioye.

APC Demands Kachikwu’s Resignation Over Remark On Fuel Scarcity

Featured Image

The National Vice Chairman, South South of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Hilliard Eta has called on the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu to resign from his position over the recent comment he made with respect to the lingering fuel scarcity in the country.

Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Dr. Ibe. Kachikwu

According to a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday, Eta said the Minister’s comment is a clear indication that he was incapable of running the ministry assigned to him and unable to provide workable solution to the current fuel scarcity in the country.

The APC Chieftain said it was time Kachikwu descended from “his high horse to face squarely the duties required of him by his office, as responsibility to the people is one of the cardinal points of the APC, which he professes membership.”

The party while stating that it stands by its National leader, Ahmed Tinubu who took a swipe at the Minister over the weekend said, “Kachikwu has not entirely cast off the orientation of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP where he was, adding that such is still manifesting in his actions and utterances such as the recent one that attracted contempt from many Nigerians.”

“In the light of the foregoing, Mr. Kachikwu must not be a cog in the wheel of progress and he should do the needful by resigning honourably if he is not capable of doing his part by efficiently running the ministry assigned to him.”

“It is important to reiterate here that winning the federal election in 2015 has not eroded the core ideology of progressivism, which we espouse as it is the very foundation on which the party rests.

“This progressive ideology strongly emphasises government as a tool for service to the people, who are the custodians of power in the first instance. In line with this, it is not wrong or out of place for Tinubu to call the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu to order owing to the anti progressive statements he made in the Presidential Villa on Wednesday March 23, 2016, while fielding questions from Journalists on the persisting scarcity of petrol.

“Secondly, we in the APC believe that it is proper to immediately correct mistakes or errors committed by any member of the party, no matter how highly placed and we are developing a culture of accountability to Nigerians that government is meant to serve.

“From this perspective, it is, therefore, understandable that Kachikwu’s statement to the effect that he has no solution to petrol scarcity bedevilling the country drew flaks from Tinubu and this does not, in any way imply that there is a crack within the party.

“In African culture, it is seen as irresponsible for an elder to watch a youngsters or an inexpensive person blunder without immediately calling him to order.”

Meanwhile, the Presidency has risen in stout defence of the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, who came under scathing criticism by the APC National leader Bola Ahmed Tinubu for saying he is no magician to immediately solve the country’s fuel scarcity issue.

READ ALSO: Fuel Scarcity: Tinubu Vents Harsh Words On Buhari’s Petrol Minister, Kachikwu

Speaking on Channels Television programme titled: “Sunday Politics,” the presidential spokesman, Mr Femi Adesina said that the minister should not be crucified for telling Nigerians the truth.

In a related development, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has attacked Tinubu for criticizing Kachikwu for his poor handling of the lingering fuel scarcity in the country.

Tinubu, in a widely reported statement on Sunday, had asked the minister to apologise to Nigerians for saying he was not a magician in bringing to an end, the fuel crisis.

However, PDP Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Jalo, said Tinubu lacks the moral right to criticise the minister knowing the role he played in the emergence of the APC-led Federal Government.

“If there is anybody that can condemn Kachikwu in this country it is not Bola Tinubu, knowing the antecedents and record of Bola Tinubu who was Lagos State governor.‎ We need a credible person to do that,” the party added.

The PDP also faulted the minister.

“It is wrong for him to say he is not a magician‎, it is equally bad for him as a minister to allow fuel scarcity to linger for a long time. We have the means, the government is mapping out a lot of money from looters and other sources. So what went wrong?” PDP asked.

Mikel, who has now returned to being a more influential player under interim manager Guus Hiddink, revealed that he didn’t know why he lost the trust of Mourinho, who brought him to the club in 2006.

Mikel Obi: Iwobi And Iheanacho Are The Future Of Nigeria

“I think confidence is everything, if a manager doesn’t believe in you, trust me there’s no way you can succeed,” he told Goal. “Even if you do things right he would always make sure he finds fault.

“People change in any walk of life, maybe he decided he wanted to do better in a different way and he didn’t need me anymore.

“He didn’t have the belief that he had in me before, which is fine because every manager has the player that they have trust in.

“It is a tough business, football, so when a manager comes in he wants to have people he believes in. If he doesn’t believe in you he doesn’t play you. And I think it’s all about a manager giving a player confidence.”

Get Familiar With the 88 Fingers Pianist “Dyksen”

Featured Image

The same way music has varieties of genres, so does talent.

However, in the case of talent, there are only two types: man-made talent and God-given talent. With man-made talent you have to work very hard. With God-given talent, you just touch it up once in a while.

Only few individuals are gifted with the God-given talent and Delta State, Nigeria has bred one of the recently discovered ones in Africa.

Tebu Ovie Dyksen, a pianist and producer, recently has been creating some buzz for himself on popular social media platform “Twitter” and not leaving tweeps in limbo as he keeps his streak going with awesome piano rendition of already released popular tunes.

During a brief chat with Dyksen on the 27th of March, 2016 making reference to the phrase “88 Fingers“, the 21 year old said “I really can’t tell u how it started, but when the name came it stuck. I do very fast arpeggios, fast as if it’s more than one person playing it. The number 88 is just the one i chose. Weird and unique.. The kinda name that gets you thinking. Although his explanation is hard to go with but very much believable and understandable when you see him playing the piano blindfolded in the video below.

Currently based in Port Harcourt, Dyksen has been playing the piano for a long time but diversified his art into production in 2011. He goes further to describe his source of inspiration as “divine” and he sees Kanye West, Don Jazzy not leaving-out Timbaland as his role models.

Dyksen also labelled himself as the “church boy” who seeks to be different, weird and hopefully help those that are just like him i.e; talented, gifted but without a platform to display their gifts.

With numerous mash-ups to his credit a mash-up of Reekado Banks’ “Oluwa Ni” and Korede Bello’s “Mungo Park” is his most recent; listen to it with some other sizzling hot renditions below.

Ozil: Arsenal Are Not Out Of The EPL Title Race

Featured Image

Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil is confident the gunners can still claim the title, despite being 11 points behind Leicester City, who sit at the top of the table.

The gunners dropped to third on the log, after claiming only three wins from their last 10 matches – they have a game in hand on Leicester.

And Ozil believes they can still win the title, but has warned against further slip ups, if they’re to pull off the ultimate comeback.

“I do not think it impossible,” he told the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag.

“Although there are only a few games left, Leicester have a run against some of the big teams to come. We ourselves must in any case not allow any more slip-ups. The hope of the title is still there – we have the players for the title.”

Ozil, who has 19 assists this season and is closing in on Thierry Henry’s division record, is full of praise for Leicester’s unlikely title tilt, though is hoping they slip up in the run-in.

“They deserve to be up there; Leicester fight for every point,” he continued. “We see in every game that players of Leicester want to achieve something.

“We ourselves have not been focused in every game and that is not possible in the Premier League since there is no opponent you can beat easily.

“Leicester have been great but there are still a few games. I think we still have a chance to catch them up. We must, of course, hope for mistakes.”
