Tottenham Considering Bid For FC Basel’s Breel Embolo

Tottenham will turn to FC Basel striker Breel Embolo if they get frustrated in their pursuit of Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi.

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed his interest in Batshuayi, who has also been linked to West Ham, but Spurs cannot offer him a guaranteed starting spot with Harry Kane the club’s first-choice striker.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Spurs have identified 19-year-old Embolo, who has scored 30 goals in 86 appearances for Basel, as a possible alternative.

Man Utd and Bayern Munich are also reportedly watching Emoblo, who was the subject of a rejected £19m bid from Wolfsburg in January.

The gorilla was shot and killed after a 4-year old boy fell in its cage, and the The Big Bang Theory actress has described the zoo officials as “people not using their brains.”

READ: 160,000 People Sign Petition To Charge Negligent Parents Whose Son Caused The Death Of An Endangered Silverback Gorilla

She wrote on her Instagram, alongside a picture of the slain animal: “RIP #harambe Im sure I will get tons of backlash (per usual) I mean let’s be honest, I wear the wrong sweatpants and the entire world has something to say about it, but once again , another senseless horrendous animal being killed over people not using their brains. If you watch the footage, you see this gorgeous animal holding that child’s hand. Do with that ,what you will. As sad as this makes me, a part of me is happy for that amazing creature doesn’t have to live in captivity another day. Bring on the hate!!!! 👍🏼”

Cuoco joins a large number of people who have criticized the decision to kill Harambe, with many saying he should have been tranquilized at worst. However, zoo director Thayne Maynard admitted that an attempt to tranquilize the gorilla would have agitated it and put the boy in danger.

“That would have definitely created alarm in the male gorilla,” Maynard said. “When you dart an animal, anesthetic doesn’t work in one second, it works over a period of a few minutes to 10 minutes. The risk was due to the power of that animal.”

“I think I got cheated on because I was dating someone four years younger as well,” she said. “And, I think he never had like a serious girlfriend before and I think I was a lot more mature and I think, um, he was curious.”

“We were both really young and he was younger than me and wanted some experience,” she added. “I got it. He was just not for me. Him cheating on me allowed [me] in a way to recognize that we weren’t for each other.”

Adriene and Rob seemed to be a solid couple when they dated, with Adriene repeatedly appearing on the family’s Keeping Up With The Kardashian TV show, and even tattooing Rob’s name on her butt (she had that removed that in 2014).

The Worst Government In The History Of Nigeria (1) – Femi Aribisala

Featured Image

The Worst Government In The History Of Nigeria (1) – Femi Aribisala

It is amusing, if not very disturbing, to see the number of people the Buhari administration has brought out of the woodwork to sing its praises on this its one-year anniversary. Having arrested key spokespersons of the opposition, intimidated the press into silence, threatened the judiciary, and even arrested its non-politician critics, such as Olu Adegboruwa, on trumped up charges, the government has become confident that it has a free pass to feed Nigerians with lies about its woeful performance in office.

The views and opinions expressed here are those of Femi Aribisala and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

Having won a “famous” election by telling Nigerians a tissue of lies which it then repudiated on assuming office, the government continues to believe it can also govern just by continuing to tell lies. Thus, assessing his performance in office over the past one year, the president even went as far as to boast that it has been “a year of triumph.” This shows conclusively that truth has fallen in the street of this misguided Buhari administration; so much so that abject failure has been camouflaged as its triumph.

Deceitful election campaign

In all my years of living in Nigeria, I can say, along with the overwhelming majority of Nigerians, that we have never had it so bad. Only one thing explains the extremities of Nigeria’s miserable predicament today: we have in office a government so singularly inept and incompetent, it has triumphed in making a bad situation so much worse.

In an article last year entitled: “Why Nigerians Must Reject the Second-Coming of Buhari,” I made this observation after listening to Buhari’s vapid campaign speeches:

“It is amazing that, for a man who is running for election as president for a marathon fourth time, Buhari is so bereft of ideas as to how he would do anything if he were to become president. No man becomes president of Nigeria on the basis of vain platitudes. No man becomes president as a result of social media blogs and sound-bites. No man becomes president by giving two-minute speeches in craftily-packaged rallies, one minute of which is spent introducing his entourage.”

However, many Nigerians refused to heed our warning. Now the chickens have come to roost.

Inaugural mumbo-jumbo

After listening to President Buhari’s inaugural speech in May 2015, I also had this to say in an article entitled: “Is President Buhari Born Again?”:

“Buhari has been running for president for the last 14 years. Nevertheless, listening to his inaugural speech, it is clear he does not have a clue what exactly to do when in office. Either the APC never really believed it would win the election, or it was too preoccupied with winning to pay sufficient attention to what it would do in the unlikely event that it won.”

Of course, Buhari apologists promptly came to his defence. They claimed it was too early to make such assessment. Let the man settle down.

Baba Do-Nothing

The first 100 days of a new administration provides the best opportunity to proclaim giant strides and pass difficult legislation because it is still the honeymoon period. But our man Buhari squandered this opportunity by doing absolutely nothing. At his 100 days inaugural, I had this assessment:

“After 100 days, it should now be abundantly clear that Buhari is not qualified to be president of 21st century Nigeria. The president has neither agenda nor direction. His cardinal objective is apparently the prosecution of Northern hegemony. The APC desperately needs to organise an intervention, before Buhari drives the country into the ditch. It is time to admit it. Electing Buhari as president was a big national blunder.”

Again, the paid chorus-singers jumped to the president’s defence. They insisted again that 100 days is not enough to make an adequate assessment of a president’s agenda or direction. Buhari still needed to be given more time.

Buhari wasted seven months to choose the members of his cabinet, receiving in the process the ignominy of being nicknamed “Baba Go-Slow.” He promised Nigerians his ministers would be unimpeachable saints and angels. But when the time finally came, they turned out to be the same old and tired politicians, some with serious allegations of corruption hanging over their heads. In an uncharacteristic moment of clarity, Buhari himself castigated them as “noise-makers.” In office, they have been singularly unimpressive without exception.

Abubakar Malami, the Minister of Justice, dropped a fictitious bombshell by declaring that the EFCC has recovered 2 trillion dollars of stolen loot. The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, dazzled our credibility by saying his ministry has the capacity to generate about 3.4 million jobs in 2016 alone through pencil production. Lai Mohammed, another of the government’s bamboozlers, said the government would use the N1.4 trillion in the TSA as Father Christmas handouts for Nigeria’s poorest 20 million. This kind of blatantly false hot air has become the stock-in-trade of this APC government.

All Promises Cancelled

Now it is not just 100 wasted days, it is 365. It is one full year and there is no difference, except that things have gone terribly wrong. I repeat: Nigerians have never had it so bad. No electricity, no petrol, no economic policy, no government. Just vain platitudes.

When a political party wins an election by deceiving the electorate, filling the people with false promises, it is easy to conclude it can also rule by deceit, feeding the populace with false hope. However, sooner than later, lies will be exposed to be lies. Judging by the president’s failure to fulfil any of his vaunted campaign promises, his government is not only a failure but a fraud.

At the APC South-East rally in Owerri in 2015, Buhari declared he would make the naira equal to the dollar if voted into office. He continued: “It is sad that the value of the naira has dropped to more than 230 to one dollar. This does not speak well for the nation.” If N230 to one dollar is sad, what shall we say today of the exchange-rate of N350 to one dollar under his administration? How does that speak for the nation, Mr. President?

Just take a look at the following anomalies. Buhari promised to create 740,000 jobs within a year in the 36 states of the federation, as well as one million jobs for Igbo youths by revamping the huge coal deposits in Enugu State for electricity generation. However, in one year in office, his administration has created no new jobs. Instead, it has lost jobs by the lorry-load through its go-slow and do-nothing stance.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said in the first quarter of 2016 alone, another 1.5 million Nigerians became unemployed; increasing the country’s unemployment rate from 10.4 percent in the last quarter in 2015 to 12.1 percent.

Buhari promised to generate, transmit and distribute electricity on a 24/7 basis. At the beginning of his administration, APC propagandists went to town boasting that there was already regular power supply as a result of the alchemy of the president’s “body language.” But, in no time at all, the only language the president’s body has been speaking is power blackouts.

In 365 days of Buhari’s tragic presidency, Nigeria has suffered more blackouts than at any time in its history. In April this year, the entire country was thrown into darkness as a result of system collapse. The minister of power has become a minister of darkness. To date, there is no reprieve in sight.

From bad to worse

Before Buhari, our primary security concern was the Boko Haram insurgency in the North-East. But thanks to Buhari, insecurity has become nationwide. Now the threat is not only Boko Haram in the North-East. It is also the Shi’ites in the North-West. It is the Biafrans in the South-East. It is the Niger-Delta Avengers in the South-South. But for the incompetence of the government, these new fissures would not have gained new prominence.

At his inaugural, the president claimed grandiloquently: “I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody.” But after 365 days in office, we now know that he belongs to Fulani herdsmen, after all, he called them “my people” to Lam Adesina of Oyo State. These herdsmen have been allowed to go from state to state on repeated murderous rampages, with nary a word of reproach until recently from the president who, with his 270 declared cows, is apparently their patron.

Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information, said in December 2015: “We can confidently announce here today that the (fuel) scarcity will end in a few days. We can assure you that we won’t be caught in this kind of situation again.” However, the kind of scarcity we have experienced since the making of this vain promise has been unprecedented in Nigeria’s history. On some occasions, the fuel queues at petrol-stations everywhere have been as long as half a mile.

When Jonathan reduced the petrol pump price from N97 to N87 per litre in January 2015, former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola said the N10 reduction was too low and that Nigerians would get a better deal under Buhari. Later, in April 2015, one of Buhari’s arch-propagandists, former Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Professor Tam David-West, told Nigerians that, since a drastic decrease in the international price of oil had taken place, Buhari would reduce the fuel pump price from N87 to N40 per litre.

But all this turned out to be just another tissue of lies. Rather than decrease the price, Buhari has now increased it by a massive N56.50 to N145. This has fed into already high price increases and has led to further devaluation of the naira on the parallel market. The result has been even more hardship in Nigeria, especially among the poor.

National impoverishment

At the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, Tinubu declared that the APC would eradicate poverty in Nigeria. He said: “A progressive government must turn its face from the austerity policies of the outgoing administration that tried to manage poverty, but not end it. Such policies serve only to deepen and prolong the hardship of the average person.”

But it is now abundantly clear that no government has impoverished Nigerians as much as this APC government. The rate of inflation in the country has grown astronomically. If the members of the lying brigade the government has trotted out in this one-year anniversary to deceive Nigerians are so sure of Buhari’s triumphant success, let them go to any market in the country today, North or South, and shout “Sai Buhari.” They should not be surprised if they are mugged or even lynched.

After just 365 days, Nigerians are completely fed up with Buhari and the APC. At the moment, the country is a powder-keg waiting to be ignited. This is the assessment of Balarabe Musa, former governor of Kaduna State: “It is quite obvious that this administration is a complete failure and does not have the capacity to solve any problems. The unfortunate thing is that the situation in Nigeria is so bad that the electorate is now cursing their luck for electing it.”

Senator Sani Denies Ben Bruce’s Claim That DSS Prevented Him From Greeting Buhari

Featured Image

The Senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district, Shehu Sani has denied claims by his colleague, Senator Ben Murray Bruce that he was prevented from exchanging pleasantries with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential dinner on Monday, May 30, 2016.

Sani’s denial came on the heels of allegations by the lawmaker representing Bayelsa central senatorial district, Senator Bruce, that he (Bruce) was prevented by the Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), from greeting Buhari at a dinner organised for National Assembly members.

Murray Bruce, who is well known for his critical stance on government and criticism of Mr. Buhari, had said on social media:

“I was at the presidential villa today. Went to the President’s table. DSS would not allow me greet him but let another Senator greet him,” Murray-Bruce said.

However, Sani, who is also a very stern critic of the Buhari-led government, however said he did not witness such at the dinner.

In a post on his social media accounts, Senator Sani said:

“He was frank and blunt with us and we were honest with him.

“He addressed us, and those nominated to speak responded, raised issues and asked questions of which he answered. I actually wanted to speak but I was not so lucky.”

Messi Tax Trial Starts In Barcelona

Lionel Messi’s tax trial in Barcelona, began in his absence on Tuesday.

The forward and his father have both been with three counts of tax fraud worth €4.1 million dating back to 2007 to 2009.

The Barcelona star will testify personally on Thursday, days before his country plays Chile in the opening fixture of the Copa America.

His lawyer Enrique Bacigalupo was present for the start of proceedings at the Eighth Court of Barcelona.

Messi had been set to avoid a trial on the grounds that his father Jorge Messi was apparently responsible for his son’s tax obligations, but the state attorney later opted to overrule the advice of prosecutors and ordered both to take the stand.

It’s A Lie! Military Did Not Arrest 10 Of Our Members – Avengers | Army Reacts

The Niger Delta Avengers, a resurgent militant group responsible for the recent string of attacks on oil and gas installations in the Niger Delta region, has on Tuesday, described as false, a claim by the Nigerian Army that 10 of its members were arrested.

The 10 Suspected militants were nabbed in Delta following a cordon and search operation

On Sunday, the 4th Brigade of the Nigerian Army, garrisoned in Benin, had said it arrested 10 suspected militants and pipeline vandals in the Niger Delta region.

However, in a post on its Twitter handle, @NDAvengers early Tuesday, the Avengers said the military’s claims were spurious.

“Our attention has (been) drawn to the arrest of 10 Niger Delta Avengers’ boys by Nigeria Military. None of our strike team has been arrested,” the group said. “It’s all a lie.”

The group also denied that any of its members had been killed, contrary to a claim credited to the military Joint-Task Force operating in the region.

“Nigeria Military also lied that NDA kill(ed) soldiers. We haven’t engaged in combat with them but if they want us to kill them let them come after us,” it said on another tweet.

In a swift reaction, the Army spokesman, Sani Usman, said those paraded confirmed membership of the militant group during interrogations.

“We paraded them for the world to see because we were able to establish that they’re militants and members of that new group,” Mr. Sani, a colonel, said. “The group has resulted to propaganda because they know the media will report their activities and I think the general public should be wary of the unfounded claims being made by this faceless group.”

“Nigerian Army is a constituted authority in this country and we will not lower ourselves to cheap lies like the Avengers, that is where you can’t see any basis for comparison between us and them.”

Fayose Alerts N’Assembly On Buhari’s Plot To Ban Him From ‘Foreign Trips’

Featured Image

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has drawn the attention of the National Assembly to an alleged plot by the Muhammadu Buhari led government to prevent him from travelling out of the country, adding that the plot is a “new threat to the constitution”.

“The national assembly is being alerted of this new threat to the constitution of Nigeria by those who swore to protect it. Members of the national assembly should by now begin to imagine what will be their fate if attempt is now being made to place travel restriction on state governors,” Mr. Fayose said via a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka.

According to Fayose, Buhari is trying to compel him to seek clearance from the Department of State Services (DSS) before travelling abroad.

The statement read: “Few days ago, when Governor Ayodele Fayose was reliably informed that President Muhammadu Buhari had directed that he should be banned from travelling outside Nigeria, he simply took the information as mere rumour, concluding that disrespect for the constitution of Nigeria and Buhari’s dictatorship would not be extended to the most ridiculous level of preventing a governor elected just as the president from traveling out of the country.

“The thinking of Governor Fayose was that even though the Buhari’s presidency was capable of even attempting to prevent those opposed to the President from breathing the air, it must still be sane enough to be conscious of the consequences of placing any Nigerian under travel ban without an order of the court, not to talk of a sitting governor that enjoys constitutional immunity like the President.

“However, when we read the story titled; ‘Two govs under watch, face travel ban’ published on Sunday by two major national dailies, we have no option than to once again alert the public on President Buhari’s new dictatorial plot to infringe on the constitutional rights of Governor Fayose just because of his critical position on the President’s dictatorial tendencies.

“The question is: if Governor Fayose has become a threat to the security of Nigeria just because he criticises President Buhari and says the truth about his mis-governance of the country, is this not a confirmation that the President hates dissenting views?”

“This dangerous dimension of compelling a sitting governor that enjoys Constitutional Immunity like the President to obtain clearance from the Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS) before travelling out of Nigeria can ever be contemplated.”

“Section 35 (1) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) provides that; “Every person shall be entitled to his personal liberty and no person shall be deprived of such liberty,” while Section 41 (1) provides that “Every citizen of Nigeria is entitled to move freely throughout Nigeria and to reside in any part thereof, and no citizen of Nigeria shall be expelled from Nigeria or refused entry thereto or exit therefrom.”

“Article 13 (1) of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to which Nigeria is a signatory provides that ‘Everyone has the right to freedom of movement and residence within the border of each State’ while Article 13 (2) provides that ‘Everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and return to his country,’ ditto Article 12 (2) of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

“President Buhari and his agents should also be mindful of the fact that under a federal system of government, the states and national government both enjoy some autonomy, with sovereign power formally divided between the national government and the States such that each State retains some degree of control over its internal affairs.

“Therefore, the President of Nigeria cannot lord himself over any State governor and President Buhari and his agents should accept this basic reality and stop behaving as if they own Nigeria in totality.

“President Buhari and his agents, especially his kinsman; Alhaji Lawal Daura of the DSS need to purge themselves of this blood of dictatorship running in their veins and be guided by the Constitution of Nigeria.

“Even ordinary Nigerians do not require clearance from the DSS or any security agency to travel outside Nigeria unless travel restriction is placed by an order of the court, not to talk of State Governors that enjoy immunity just like the President and are not under the control of the President.

“The president and his agents should know that this is not 1984 when General Buhari, as a military dictator prevented late Chief Obafemi Awolowo from travelling outside Nigeria for medical treatment, thereby leading to his (Awolowo) untimely death in 1987!

“They should also be reminded that the same way Buhari humiliated the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade; late Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero and late Obi of Onitsha, Ofala Akulalia Alphonsus Ogugua in 1984 by seizing their passports and restricting them to their palaces just because they travelled to Israel for business, he cannot restrict State governors from travelling outside Nigeria under whatever guise.

“I therefore wish to state on behalf of Governor Ayodele Fayose that as an opposition figure, he cannot be cowed by this pettiness from the presidency. Governor Fayose, by this press conference is daring President Buhari and his anti-democratic agents to carry out this evil and shameful plot and let us all see how far it will take them.

“Anytime Governor Fayose wishes to travel out of Nigeria, he will do so in the full glare of the public and we await how he will be prevented from exercising his rights as enshrined in the 1999 Constitution (as amended) as well as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights.

“We also wish to inform the President and his DSS men that as they were disgraced when they invaded Ekiti State House of Assembly, arresting members of the House indiscriminately, they will be put to shame this time too.

5 Pro-Biafran Activists Killed, 358 Arrested In South-East Nigeria

Featured Image

At least 358 members of the Movement for the Actualisation of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), were arrested by the police, while five pro-Biafran activists were killed during a string of violent confrontations in the south-east of Nigeria on Monday.

In Delta state, the spokesman of the state police command, Charles Muka, said the protesters were killed during violent confrontation with security personnel, while others were arrested, The Cable reports.

He said:  “We had to deploy our officers to ensure that the protest was peaceful but we were surprised that the people turned violent.”

“To our surprise, they started attacking our men and at Okwe Junction in Abraka area of Asaba, the group killed a police corporal and took his AK47 riffle.

“Also along the Dennis Osadeby Way in Asaba, they wounded a police officer and took his anti-riot gun.

“This group also attacked and wounded two policemen, suspected to be marine police, and threw them into the River Niger at Cable Point in Asaba and in the process one died and one was rescued.

“This brings the casualty number to two with two others injured on the side of the police.

“The protesters also attacked military vehicles along the Asaba-Onitsha Expressway which left four members of the group dead and eight others arrested and brought to the police headquarters.”

In Ebonyi state, policemen besieged Nkaliki Primary School, Abakaliki and apprehended over 320 persons, who converged to protest.

Confirming the apprehension, Moses Eze,  a zonal leader of MASSOB, said clergymen, who were conducting service ahead of the rally, were also arrested.

“Over 320 of our members were arrested by the police during the Biafra Day celebration,” he said.

“Some of those arrested were just clergymen who we invited to conduct inter-denominational church service as part of activities marking the celebration. These policemen don’t seem to have respect for God, why would they arrest his people?”

Ebere Amaraizy, spokesman of the police in Enugu, told NAN that 13 members of the group were arrested in the Obiagu road axis of the coal city.

While in Imo state, the spokesman for the police, Andrew Enwerem, said the police arrested 17 MASSOB members for holding a road show in commemoration of 49th anniversary of Biafra.

Reacting to the apprehension, Okechukwu Nwogu, a leader of MASSOB, said it was regrettable that the police arrested members of the group who were on a peaceful march to commemorate the 49th anniversary of Biafra and 17th anniversary of MASSOB.

“What Nigeria government is doing to us is very unfair; MASSOB is a non-violent group moving without arms in remembrance of our history,” he said.

Nwogu called on Igbo leaders to “come out and speak for Igbo people who are being unjustly treated by security forces”.

Al-Mustapha Hits At Obasanjo, Vows To Reveal How Abacha And Abiola Died

Featured Image

With less than 9 days to the 18th anniversary of the death of the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, a former Chief Security Officer to the military leader, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, has vowed to unveil startling details of what actually killed his principal and the acclaimed winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, Chief Bashorun MKO Abiola.

This is just as he stressed that the late head of state did not loot the nation’s treasury as being reported.

Speaking with pressmen in Lagos on Monday, Al-Mustapha said that most of the funds recovered in different parts of the world were kept there by the Abacha government in anticipation of sanctions likely to be imposed on the country by the international community.

Al-Mustapha also said he would unveil the untold story of how the duo died in his new book, Mustapha’s Memoirs, which, according to him, is still being worked on.

“What killed Abacha is exactly what killed MKO Abiola. But I would reveal that after my court case, still at the supreme court. I would publish a book which has three volumes— the Mustapha’s Memoirs, which will tell what happened under Abacha and how he died,” he said.

His words:

“For instance, when Chief MKO Abiola was in prison, many notable Nigerians visited him. They will visit him in the morning, and when they come back to the Villa in the evening to see Abacha, they would say a different thing entirely.

“Unknown to these notable Nigerians, particularly notable Yoruba personalities, who visited Abiola, their visits were recorded on video. I did the video recording without their knowledge.

“These people would visit Abiola and come back to tell government a different thing about him.

“These same people would still go and tell Abiola a different thing about government. They are on video. The agencies of government have these videos evidence.

“These same people told MKO Abiola never to accept any compromise or negotiations. They advised him never to come back home without his mandate. All these things are on video.

“Of all the Yoruba leaders, only Oba Tejuosho told MKO Abiola the truth: to accept the conditional bail and go home.

“Only Oba Tejuosho told MKO Abiola that Abacha was his friend, urging him to reconcile with Abacha who was ready for reconciliation. It was Oba Tejuosho who told MKO Abiola that he still had the goodwill and would win if he re-contests after Abacha.

Al-Mustapha also denied the allegation that he assisted Abacha to stash money in foreign accounts.

“The proper facts about the Abacha loot are not known. Where was the money from? What was it meant for? How was it taken out? Who kept the money there? Abacha was not leaving Nigeria at a later time. His journeys were within Africa because the toes he had stepped upon were bent on removing him,” he said.

“In November 1998, I told the government to prosecute me, if I have any bank account than my salary account with the Bank of the North.”

Dismissing the allegation of former President Olusegun Obasanjo that ex-President Goodluck Jonathan facilitated his release from the prison to enable him lead a killer squad of 1,000 snipers ahead of the 2015 presidential election.

He said: “Firstly, ex-President Goodluck Jonathan was not the one that facilitated my release. Rather, my release was facilitated by the content of the case as determined by the Court of Appeal. We were not even supposed to have been arrested in the first place,” he said.

“After all, witnesses were induced and contracted to implicate us. At the end of the day, we were subjected to all manner of torture and abuses of our human rights. Today, despite the fact that we were convicted on grounds that were baseless without evidence and even against the submissions of their witnesses, they did the contrary outside what was before the court of law.

“So, when the Appellate Court looked at the matter in totality, we were released based on purely the rule of law. So, anybody saying Jonathan facilitated my release is either one of my persecutors or those who have taken money from them. There are public documents in the public for all to see these facts.

“Nobody contracted me to catch 1,000 mosquitoes under the Jonathan administration, let alone human beings. I am Al-Mustapha. I have my background away from the propaganda peddled by the likes of Obasanjo.

“Obasanjo has had his day. I am doing my investigation and I have discovered so many things as to what made him (Obasanjo) make such allegation. I have it. I will release it very soon and that is why I have challenged him to an open debate. “Obasanjo is my senior in the force; he was a former Military Head of State, but when issues of law and rights of man are being discussed, definitely equality comes to the fore.

“You cannot put an allegation against your junior because you are a senior, and you believe the junior would keep quiet. No, I would not. That would amount to ignorance. I am not ignorant about our laws.

“I challenge Obasanjo to an open debate so that he can substantiate his allegations before the whole world; but he is yet to oblige the challenge.

“Thank God a new government is here today, where he (Obasanjo) can bring up the issue, requesting it to investigate and, if there is any contract between Jonathan and I to catch one single mosquito, I want to say that I am guilty and want to be tried.”

Mkhitaryan In No Rush To Sign Dortmund Extension

Featured Image

Mino Raiola has stressed his client, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is in no rush to sign a contract extension at Dortmund.

Juventus are reportedly looking to sign the attacking midfielder, with his contract due to expire in 2017, the bundesliga club are looking to tie him down with a contract extension.

However, Raiola insists the Armenia international is looking to keep his options open, with an offer from the Serie A giants looming.

“Why would we sign a contract renewal now?” Raiola told Bild.

“Micki has a contract until June 2017 and we are looking at his options for the future.”

Mkhitaryan joined Dortmund from Shakhtar Donetsk in July 2013 and has since developed into a key figure at Signal Iduna Park.

He had a hand in 26 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances this season, scoring 11 times and assisting 15 more to help Dortmund to a second-place finish.

Hart: England Can Be The Surprise Package At Euro 2016

Featured Image

England goalkeeper Joe Hart, is confident the three lions can be a surprise package at the Euro 2016.

The young side has a squad that includes nine men with less than 10 caps, with Harry Kane, the first choice striker having just 11.

With Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Jamie Vardy making their way into the squad after impressing at club level.

And Hart feels a new-look England may benefit from an element of surprise in France.

“I wouldn’t say people would know too much about us in terms of us as a team,” he told The Telegraph.

“They know individual players but the team that is potentially going to start aganst Russia might not have been seen before in England shirts.

“We have weeks to prepare 23 good players in good form and mould time into a team that thinks and works together.”

England have lost on penalties in the quarter-finals of the last two editions of the European Championship, but Hart is confident that he can prove the nation’s hero in another shootout.

“I have always had the mentality of thinking what is the best moment [to dive],” the Manchester City man added. “Of believing in what I am doing.

“I have got it wrong many, many times but I have always believed I know what they are thinking or what they are going to do.

“I realise it is not easy to take a penalty. I try and build as much pressure as I can [on the taker] and be in control as much as I can.”

VIDEO: ”Can You Stop Filming Me?” Adele Blasts Fans For Recording Her Concert

Featured Image

Adele was being filmed by an eager fan during her concert in Arena di Verona, Italy, Sunday, (May, 29) and it looked like she didn’t really like it as she put the film-maker on blast.

During her performance, while rocking her signature sequined fashion style she pointed into the crowd and said, “look I want to tell that lady as well, can you stop filming me with the video camera. I’m really here in real-life, you can enjoy it in real-life rather than through your camera.’

While referencing her millions of fans who desperately wanted to attend the concert but couldn’t, the 28-year-old singer told another fan she caught recording with a tripod, ‘Can you take your tripod down, this isn’t a DVD. This is a real show and I’d really like you to enjoy the show because there are lots of people outside who couldn’t come in.’

Funny thing, there were those recording this classic Adele reaction to being illegally recorded.

The British singer’s reaction to being filmed during a live performance has been linked to her desire for fans to live in the moment rather than being concerned with filming her illegally and pirating her music.

As for piracy, the award-winning singer needn’t bother about who is pilfering off her fame seeing as she is reportedly getting ready to sign a $130 million, (N25,880,400,000) record-breaking contract.

TMZ reported that the Someone Like You hitmaker bought a mansion worth $9.5 million, (N1,891,260,000). The sprawling 6,600 square foot property is set in an exclusive gated community in LA County and the sale was kept as a top secret deal. The property was initially listed at $9.9 million.

Piracy and illegal filming is DEFINITELY not Adele’s problem, she just wants her true fans to enjoy watching her perform live.

Ibrahimovic Could Return To Malmo

Featured Image

It is quite possible for Zlatan Ibrahimovic to return to his boyhood club of Malmo, amid reports linking him with a move to Old Trafford.

The veteran striker will be a free agent after deciding to leave PSG upon expiry of his contract.

The Sweden international has been linked with a move to the EPL, with a possible reunion with former manager, Jose Mourinho, who managed him at Inter Milan.

However, his agent, Mino Raiola has strongly dissuaded claims of such move, stating his client’s next club will come as a surprise.

Ibrahimovic returned to his city of birth on Monday for Sweden’s friendly against Slovenia which he was forced to sit out with a calf problem, but the former Barcelona forward hinted fans could soon see him in action again at the Swedbank Stadion.

“I love Malmo and I wish I could play,” Ibrahimovic said in an address to fans before kick-off.

“I apologise for that, but I will [play here again], I will. Just wait for me.”

Ibrahimovic started his professional career with Malmo, before leaving the Allsvenskan side for Ajax in 2001.

Runtown Sued By Record Label, Ericmany

Featured Image
A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has slammed an injunction against the rising musical artiste Douglas Jack-Agu aka “Runtown”. The injunction prevents him from performing at any event or any form of recording for the time being unless with the approval of Ericmany Limited.

Runtown is signed under the Ericmany Entertainment label that presently holds the copyright to all his music. He was sued in the Federal High Court by Ericmany on allegations that he signs up, concludes and attends musical shows without the knowledge of the label.

Ericmany Entertainment was said to have invested millions of naira on Runtown. However trouble started when Runtown apparently with the connivance of Bug Media ran by one Bugwu Aneto began to sideline Ericmany and collected money directly for shows without the knowledge of Ericmany. Bug Media is also a party to the court case.

In another twist of events, the management of Ericmany has sacked the said Bugwu Aneto as General Manager of the company for infractions which might not be unconnected with his alleged connivance with Runtown to shortchange the Label Ericamany.

Our reporter learnt that all inquiries about the artiste and bookings for shows would no longer be through Aneto but through the management of Ericmany.

It is not clear how the young artiste is reacting to the court case and injunction. Observers suggest he was misled by Bugwu, the former General Manager of Ericmany to ditch his boss and benefactor Ericmany, and may now that the chips are down find ways to go back and reconcile with the Ericmany.

How Adekunle Gold Joined YBNL

Adekunle Gold, who first rose to fame on the internet for his ability as a graphic designer, became acquainted with Olamide after he helped design the YBNL logo. He also designed artworks for the label’s acts, including Lil Kesh and Viktoh.

Adekunle Gold said in a recent interview: “I would never have thought that an Olamide would sign me, so there is no way I lobbied or pushed or sent my songs to him to listen to before signing me on the label. When I dropped Sade, apparently he liked it and everybody in the YBNL team loved it, so 2days to OLIC concert, the first one ever, he called me to come chill with him at the hotels for rehearsals and everything.”

He added: “So 2 days after the concert, he called me that he would love to work with me that he thinks my song is a future and he doesn’t want it to change. I quickly took the deal before my guy would change his mind.”

It’s certainly been a good deal for both, with Adekunle Gold’s debut album, Gold, to drop next month.

Gucci Mane’s First Song After Jail Time Rakes Over A Million Streams In Just One Day

Featured Image

Gucci Mane was released from prison Thursday, (May, 26) and by Friday, the rapper released a new track titled “First Day Out Tha Feds” which raked over a million streams on its first day on Soundcloud.

Real name, Radric Davis, Mane felt he had wasted enough time while being incarcerated so he jumped straight into the studio and laid down some verses with Mike Will Made-It serving as producer.

There were rumors that Gucci Mane had an entire mixtape to release on Friday, but that’s false.

According to Forbes, “Davis as a primary artist, has four Gucci Mane singles under his belt that made the Billboard Hot 100, including 2009′s “Wasted” which spent thirteen weeks on the chart and peaked at #36.

Befitting his prolific output over the years, a dozen of his albums and commercial mix tapes have appeared on the Billboard 200, three of which made the album chart’s Top 20.”

Despite being incarcerated, the Atlanta rapper was releasing new songs both for sale and free via streaming platforms with additions to his Trap God and Trap House series and his team is taking the credit for keeping his fans hot enough to wait for him to get out.

Gucci Mane was freed after serving a 39-month sentence in a federal prison located in Terra Haute, Indiana, for weapons conviction.

“Johnny Depp Got Used, Manipulated, And Made To Look Like An A-Hole” – Doug Stanhope

Featured Image

Comedian, Doug Stanhope, a close pal of Johnny Depp has come to his friend’s defense stating that Heard was “threatening to lie about Depp publicly in any and every possible duplicitous way if he didn’t agree to her terms”.

He said, “Johnny Depp got used, manipulated, set up and made to look like an a–hole. And he saw it coming and didn’t or couldn’t do anything to stop it.”

Amber Heard applied for a divorce from Johnny Depp, Monday, (May, 23), fifteen months after their marriage and since then it’s been a struggle for the Hollywood soon-to-be exes as she cited irreconcilable differences as her reason for wanting out and by Friday, (May, 27), Heard was granted a restraining order against Depp only after she accused him of domestic violence and being a threat to her life.

johnny depp

Meanwhile, Daily Mirror reports of a name-changing document which shows Amber Heard was secretly married to her former love Tasya Van Ree and following her split with Depp, she has gotten close to her ex-girlfriend again.

Amber had entered into a legally binding domestic partnership with Tasya, 40, in March 2008 in California and changed her name to Amber Van Ree. She used her new name for her business ventures also starting her company Under The Black Sky Inc using her “married” name.

The actress didn’t petition to divorce Tasya and only changed her name in late 2013, when she and Depp were already together and things were getting serious.

Amber Heard and Tasya

Amber Heard and Tasya Van Ree

With all the allegations and speculations on the truth between Depp and Amber, Doug  Stanhope has spoken out.

And he is calling Amber a lie and a blackmailer. Read:

It’s almost 4 a.m. and I can’t sleep. Not even dozing off. Today, a friend of mine was pilloried in the press for domestic violence. Coupled with a picture of his wife with a bruise, he was murdered on social media. I watched it happen and I didn’t say a f—ing word.
Even though I knew it was bulls—.

We’d watched it build like this since before they were married. We’d watched her manipulate and f— with him for years. We didn’t say a word. To each other, yes, but never to him.

When your friend is in an awful, abusive relationship — man or woman — and you risk weighing in that their counterpart is a demon, you know the odds are they will jump right back into the fire and then dump you from their life for being honest.

Most of us have been on one or both sides of this coin. Choosing to be blinded, or removing the people who have clearer eyes that can guide you.
The fact that Hollywood and the entertainment industry at large — f—, society as a whole — turns a blind eye to domestic violence is abhorrent.

But the tides have turned in such a way that the mere allegation that such a crime has occurred leaves the person accused as guilty without due process.

My girlfriend, Bingo, and I have known Johnny Depp for a few years now. We have watched Amber Heard f— with him at his weakest — or watched him at his weakest from being f—ed with — for the entire time we’ve known him.
And we didn’t say s—. Because he’s Johnny Depp.
And we didn’t want to be thrown out of the circle for saying that The Emperor was being Stripped of His Clothes.

It isn’t my place to name people who agreed with us but I couldn’t name one person closely associated with him that didn’t feel the same. But nobody said s— to his face.

Bingo and I were at Johnny’s house for most of that Saturday until just before the alleged assault. We assumed initially that his dour mood was because of his mother’s death the day before. But he opened up in the most vulnerable of ways that it was not only his mother, but that Amber was now going to leave him, threatening to lie about him publicly in any and every possible duplicitous way if he didn’t agree to her terms. Blackmail is what I would imagine other people might put it, including the manner in which he is now being vilified.

We stopped not saying s—.

Bingo and I together, and then separately, told him how much we were aware of this manipulative a–hole, how his closest circle had all agreed on this since the day we met and that we all feared that telling him outright might alienate us all.
Love makes you do funny things.

I told him the truth and I half-expected to be asked to leave. But I wasn’t seeing Johnny Depp. I saw a naked Emperor. And we told him to get dressed. Other people came in and out during the afternoon, all verifying that we’d been cowardly, saying things only behind his back for so long. He seemed dumbstruck that nobody had ever come clean about this and he thanked everyone for being honest.

He still pronounced his love for Amber but was presciently aware that she was going to pull off some kind of ruse to f— him over.
He hadn’t slept in days with anxiety. You’d call him a paranoid if you didn’t know better. But he knew better and he was right.

As he finally felt like he could sleep, we left him. From what we now read in the news, later that night the police were called to his house for a domestic dispute. Finding no criminal act had occurred and no signs of physical abuse, the police left.
Everything Johnny had told us that she’d been threatening had actually come to be. It blew up in the news, raced through the Internet like a plague and blew up on Twitter like it was the McMartin child abuse scandal. People are swarming with torches on social media.

I watched it all happen ahead of time and I watched it come to fruition today. And I haven’t been able to sleep again because I didn’t say s— to defend him. Why? Because I felt like in defending him I would just come across as a sycophant trying to attach myself to a sensationalized story in order to further my career. A latterday Kato Kaelin.

And now as the sun is coming up, I realized not saying s— to defend him is a far worse crime of ego; to leave a friend hanging so you don’t look like a suck-up. I — and the “we” that were there — aren’t suck-ups or apologists. We were witnesses.
I didn’t jump into the fray because I was weak; it was because I didn’t want to look like a name-dropper.

I’ll name-drop now. Johnny Depp is my friend.

But any one of my friends will tell you I always call them out on bulls—. Abusing women is bulls—. Johnny doesn’t abuse anyone. And he told me that day ahead of time that she’d pull some kind of s— like this.
Johnny Depp got used, manipulated, set up and made to look like an a–hole. And he saw it coming and didn’t or couldn’t do anything to stop it.

He may never talk to me again for saying it but I’d never forgive myself for not coming to his defense out of fear or ego.
I stand up for my friends and I tell the f—ing truth.

There’s nothing hidden under the sun, if Amber Heard is playing a game with Depp or taking advantage, soon it will be exposed and if the 52 year-old whose ex-wives, children and now close pal are defending is the one who is lying, we’ll still find out. It’s always just a matter of time. And we have it in abundance. Until we die anyway.
