No Mercy: Man Who Repeatedly Raped His 70-Year-Old Mother | Mum Cries ‘God Will Not Spare Him’

Featured Image

Detectives of Chhattisgarh police station in central India have apprehended a middle-aged man for repeatedly raping his 70-year-old mother.

According to The Asian Age, the 40-year-old man was inebriated with alcohol when he carried out the incestuous act on his own mother.

Peeved by the abominable act, the mother told her daughter who then approached the country’s police, alleging that her son had repeatedly subjected her to rape and sexual abuse in a small town, Bemetara, in Chhattisgarh state.

According to a report filed, the man had habitually abused his mother physically, but last month, under the influence of alcohol, had sexually violated her.

The mother, while giving an account of what happened to the police, said she told him she was his mother and that she was the one who gave birth to him.

The septuagenarian said, “He did wrong with me. I told him you are my son, I gave birth to you. Don’t do this to me. But he didn’t hear a word. He will pay for this. God will not spare him.”

However, a police superintendent, Jyoti Singh, reportedly said, “It’s a heinous act. How can a man become so savage and go for such a brutal act.”

“He has been booked under section 375-376 of [the Indian Penal Code].”

Police did not disclose the identity of the accused to protect the victim’s identity.

Enrique: Barcelona Deserve To Win Liga

Featured Image

Barcelona coach, Luis Enrique believes his men will be deserved winners of the liga title, following their recent win.

The Catalan club thrashed Espanyol 5-0 with Messi getting one in, Suarez got a brace with Rafinha and Neymar getting one a piece.

Only Real Madrid, who sit a point behind pose a threat, with just one game to go, following Atletico’s loss to Levante.

Luis Enrique insists the race is not over – as proven by Atletico’s unexpected loss – ahead of their decisive trip to Granada next weekend, which could see them win a sixth title in eight seasons.

“With the number of days we have spent as leaders, we deserve the league title and I hope we can be precise in the final game to win it,” the head coach said at his post-match press conference.

“But no, the race is not over – you just have to look at what happened with Atletico today. The only team relegated beat one of the best in Spain and Europe.

“Granada are already safe? We do not trust anything and we will try to achieve our goal through football.

“Playing away from home is always a handicap, there are several aspects you cannot control. We are just a small step closer.

“There will be tension as it is one match to decide a league. Real Madrid will have the same situation as us because they play for the league in one match that is away from home.

“This league has been hotly contested and now we have to finish the job next week.”

Iheanacho Looking To Do More For City

Featured Image

Kelechi Iheanacho has promised Manchester City, they can expect more from him come next season.

The 19-year-old Nigerian striker has vindicated Pellegrini’s decision not to sign a new striker, with the youngster scoring 13 goals in all competitions.

A tally of seven in the Premier League has helped keep City on track for a top-four finish and eased the pressure on leading marksman Sergio Aguero.

Iheanacho has vowed to have even more of an impact going forward, though, and hopes to establish himself as a first-team regular in 2016-17.

“My record isn’t bad. This season has been great for me and for the team as well,” he told Sky Sports. “I’ve been getting goals in the team and helping them.

“It’s not bad this season, but I’ve got to keep working hard. This is not going to be the best season ever, I’m just starting and there will [be] more good to come.

“I’ll just keep working hard and working on everything in training and in games and I’ll get there.

“I was hoping to play a first-team game and be among them one day, I had ideas about that so I was hoping I would join them some day. It was a surprise for me when they said I was part of the team so I was happy and I’m pleased to join them.

“Now I’m convinced I’m part of the squad, but it will not get into my head. I will just keep working hard and keep believing in myself. I will help the team anyway I can.”

Behold Sadiq Khan, London’s First Ever Muslim Mayor

Featured Image

It is a tale of ‘grass to grace’ for Sadiq Khan, the son of a Pakistani bus driver, who was on Saturday elected the new Mayor of London after being appointed the first Muslim leader of a major Western capital, as the Conservatives defended attempts to link him to extremism during the campaign.

Mr Khan is the city’s first Muslim mayor, after beating Tory Zac Goldsmith by 1,310,143 votes to 994,614.
At his signing-in ceremony at Southwark Cathedral, backed by a secular choir, the Labour mayor said he wanted the moment to herald the start of a City Hall run for all Londoners and all communities. He said he hoped to “ put aside party-political differences”.

“My name is Sadiq Khan and I’m the mayor of London,” the 45-year-old said to cheers from supporters, who had earlier given him a standing ovation as he walked in.

He added: “I’m determined to lead the most transparent, engaged and accessible administration London has ever seen, and to represent every single community, and every single part of our city, as mayor for all Londoners.”

Mr Khan’s victory, which gave him the largest personal mandate of any politician in UK history, ends eight years of Conservative control of City Hall.

In his victory speech, he referred to his humble origins on a council estate and said he had never imagined that “someone like me could be elected as mayor of London,” promising to be a mayor “for all Londoners”.

Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron had led the attacks against Khan for sharing platforms with radical Muslims at public events, and Goldsmith said he was “radical and divisive”.

There was criticism from across the political spectrum on Saturday at the tone of the Tory campaign, but Defence Secretary Michael Fallon insisted it was legitimate.

“Both candidates were asked questions about their backgrounds, their personalities, their judgment, the people they associate with,” he told BBC radio.

“That’s the nature of our democracy and the rough-and-tumble of politics.”

The new mayor, Sadiq Khan, did not have a privileged start in life. He was one of eight children born to Pakistani immigrants, a bus driver and a seamstress, on a South London housing estate.

Featured Image

The Vice-Chancellor of the Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Olanrewaju Fagbohun, has announced that the University’s International Secondary School would begin academic session in September, 2016.

Speaking to pressmen on Saturday, Fagbohun said that only best candidates would be enrolled into the school.

He said that the institution would maintain best practices and standard in terms of academics ‎and service delivery.

According to him, ‎a standing committee headed by Prof. Rafiu Okunneye, had been inaugurated to ensure smooth take-off of the school.

The vice-chancellor said that the university was also planning to increase its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) ‎in line with best practices.

He said that Pre-Degree Studies (PDS), Foundational Programmes, part-time would be resuscitated and revitalised ‎to cater for those yearnings of academic pursuits in the institution.

“We are aggressively working on reviving the Open Distant Learning, while the Post-graduate school is being revitalised‎,’’ Fagbohun said. ‎

He said that government alone could not provide all the funds needed to sufficiently run the university.

“That is the reason the university was designing ways to generate revenue to complement subvention it receives from the state government,’’ he said.

Having won the trophy off the field after Tottenham’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea, the Foxes’ match against Everton on Saturday was the first time they’d appear on a pitch as champions.

“I feel very emotional right now – and a great sense of pride,” said Morgan. “Never in a million years did I ever believe I would be the captain of a Premier League winning team. That’s just me being honest.
