Murray won the first set 6-3, but lost the next 3 1-6, 2-6, 4-6 to concede the title to the dominant Serbian.

“It’s a very special moment, the biggest of my career,” said Djokovic, who now has 12 career titles. “I felt today something that I never felt before at Roland Garros, I felt the love of the crowd. I drew the heart on the court, like Guga, which he gave me permission to do. “To Novak, this is his day,” said Murray. “What he’s achieved the last 12 months is phenomenal; winning all the Grand Slams in one year is an amazing achievement. It’s so rare in tennis, and for me personally, it sucks to lose the match, but I’m proud to have been part of today.”

Milli Reveals The Dirty Details Of His Chocolate City Exit

Featured Image

Rapper, Milli, formerly of Chocolate City split from the label a few months ago and has now moved onto a new record label called Next Universe.

READ ALSO: Milli Kicks Off Up Next Universe With ‘Unlooking’ [VIDEO]

While official press releases had it that the split was amicable, body language and subliminal messages from some Chocolate City members did not make it seem that way. Fortunately, Milli got fed up and decided to give his part of the story read below;

Part 1/5: Breaking The Silence

It’s no longer news that the time has come for me to move on from Chocolate City, but until now, no one has heard my side of the story. It’s been a long journey – one year in 2014 with M.I. writing and co-producing the Chairman album, and another year in 2015 being signed with Loopy and Choc City, writing and co-producing the TICBN album, and working on individual Choc City artist projects. I have a lot of love for my CC family, especially for Koker and Dice, but for me, things didn’t turn out how I thought they would at all… I was getting held back all the time, I wasn’t allowed to put out music like I wanted to, and it was getting really hard to be myself… I’m not going to say much out there, about what really happened, that’s why I created this private Facebook group. I don’t want to do interviews and talk about what happened, I wouldn’t even want to write all of it down because it’s quite painful. But I haven’t told anyone what’s been happening, and you guys have been showing me love all this time, even in my absence, so it’s only fair that you know more than everyone else… What I want to share with you will come in five parts and this is Part 1. I really love you guys and feel so blessed

Part 2/5: The Childish EP

I started working on the Childish EP in 2014, and all the tracks on the EP were ready by the end of 2014, but when I got signed to Loopy in January 2015, M.I asked me to go back and re-record the entire EP. When Mr Audu left in February 2015 and handed over to M.I, I automatically became a Choc City artist. I was told dropping my EP under CC was going to be great for me so I was really excited. But there was a lot going on at that time, so attention shifted from my EP and I was told I couldn’t drop it for the next few months after the handover because I had to wait for the label to reorganise itself. In March, I figured out a way to drop music though, that’s how I started ‪#‎FreeMusicFridays‬. But after three Fridays, they pulled the plug on it and said I couldn’t continue putting out free music… When the handover was completed, we were asked to start putting together the TICBN album in order to promote the Choc City brand, so again I was told to be patient, and I was… I came up with the idea to drop the Childish EP on Children’s Day (May 27th, which is also my birthday), but no one at the label paid attention and M.I didn’t want me to drop it at the end of May because the TICBN Album would still being promoted around that time, so I had to be patient again. Once the TICBN album that I was also working on was recorded and dropped, I still wasn’t allowed to drop the Childish EP, but instead I was asked to pay attention to the TICBN album and promote it, which I did… Around August, after the TICBN promo, it was time for individual artists to drop projects they had been working on before the TICBN album, so I was excited and thought I could finally put out Childish. But then a new rule was invented: New music could only be dropped if it came with a music video… Sigh. More patience. The music video for Unlooking was shot in September last year but turned out a disaster, a lot of things that were supposed to happen didn’t and it just didn’t look right. I wasn’t proud of it, and you wouldn’t have liked it at all, but I couldn’t afford to shoot another one, and I couldn’t drop Childish unless I dropped a video, so I was willing to live with it. I just wanted to drop my EP… But when M.I saw the footage, he said I couldn’t drop the video yet, because we had to shoot additional scenes. The next shoot was set for January 2016 (four months after the first shoot!), which meant Childish wouldn’t drop till then. One year of waiting, and more patience…

Part 3/5: Unlooking

In November last year, I realised the year was almost over and I hadn’t put out any single yet. It bothered me, because people were waiting, and with all my frustrations I had to ask that the rule be waived in my case for Unlooking because my video was already shot, but not yet ready. Luckly it was approved but M.I wasn’t fully behind my decision, so I wasn’t very confident. But I knew I had to drop something with or without his support… I know some of y’all have been asking about the Wizkid feature and if it that was even true. Well, it did exist, and still exists. I did have a song with Wiz, which was also supposed to have M.I on it, but unfortunately he took it from me. M.I gave me a choice – if I wanted to put out Unlooking, I would have to give up the Wizkid feature. I guess nobody in their right mind would give up a feature with Wiz, but I did believe in Unlooking, and everybody around me wanted me to release it. Also, I didn’t want my first release to be a feature, and I knew I could always find him again, so I gave up the Wizkid track and prepared the release of Unlooking. I created Unlooking in a really unique way. When I first wrote it, the verses were different, not Pidgin, but M.I asked me to rewrite the song, and had me change it from English into Pidgin, to be more “street”… so I did, even though I never enjoyed remaking the song. But I wanted to make him happy so I would get all the support I needed by the time Unlooking was coming out. Unfortunately, after so much time rewriting it, when I finally dropped the song, he didn’t support me and Unlooking wasn’t pushed. He didn’t put much effort into promoting it, I could tell, and after Unlooking, all these new dab songs started coming out and the move that I had started was jacked from me… I saw M.I supporting Olamide’s dab and it really hurt me. I thought M.I was ashamed of me. He was telling people that Unlooking was just 60% of what it could have been, and that the only reason people liked it was because it was in Pidgin. There was no budget for promotion, so I had to hustle by myself, but I am just one person and I can’t win if my own people don’t believe in me… And all this while, M.I told me to be more like this or that artist, be more “street”, and people told me that he kept saying that my music wasn’t gonna fly in Naij… It’s like they had decided my sound wasn’t going to work before they even gave it a chance. It made me really, really sad…

Part 4/5: The Transition

In December last year, I met some cool and serious people that not only believe in me and my music, but they also want to see me shine. My new team wanted to work with Choc City but Choc City didn’t want that. All this while, all CC artists were told to build their own teams. And here I was, with a dope team that wanted nothing from the label but the opportunity to invest in me, and work on my promo and branding together with the label, and CC said no. They said “Either all us or nothing”. So what choice did I have? Sit and wait some more, or work with people who actually believe in me? I didn’t want to leave the label, but they didn’t really leave me a choice… So as much as it pained me to leave my fam behind, we started the release process in January… Right after the meeting with M.I, my new team and I travelled abroad for four weeks to shoot two music videos. The change of environment was good for me as I was really down at the time, I felt abandoned because after all the hard work I had put into the various CC projects and the Chairman album, the label was ready to just give up on me like that… Then things started picking up and I did more work with my new team in one month than with Choc City in an entire year, and I’m grateful. They get me and my music. They wanna make me succeed the way I am, not change my sound. They see the big picture, and way beyond Nigeria. Not everyone is happy about my departure from CC though, and even for me, it wasn’t easy to make that decision… In “Everything” M.I. really went deep, calling me disloyal for leaving the family and so on. People in the label office stopped talking to me. It became difficult for me to work with Reinhard, my producer that I introduced to M.I. at the time we produced Chairman. They talked to radio OAPs and other media people and told them their side of the story, making me look bad and as if I don’t care about anyone. And then it took almost five months to release me from the label, so I was stuck. Choc City was delaying me and crushed my vibe… My new team said I shouldn’t be on social media until things are settled with Choc City, so that they don’t change their mind about releasing me or delay us some more when they see how well things are going for me. That’s why I went quiet at some point. I didn’t even know what to say or post anyway, I was just really, really sad…

Part 5/5: A New Beginning

Being signed to Choc City was a big opportunity in my life that I will forever be grateful for. I’ve learned a lot, the good and the bad. But to keep following my dream, I needed to let go, even if it hurts and it still does… But I’ve got my own label now, Up Next, a dope team, and I’ve got you guys, and that’s all I need. But I can’t lie, it’s gonna be tough. I already know that he and his people have been talking to the media, and I don’t know how that will affect what the blogs will write, and how much radio and TV airplay I will get for my music… Maybe they will shut me out, he has people everywhere, so its possible for him to do things his way… Some of the social media influencers even told me they don’t want to promote my new projects, for fear of upsetting M.I or Choc City… It’s scary and I don’t know what will happen but I’m ready for the challenge, and as long as you guys have my back and help me post, RT, Regram and spread the word about the ‪#‎UpNextMovement‬ and my new music to your people, we don’t even need all the fake hype! Much more happened than what I’ve told you, a lot of personal things that really disappointed and hurt me deeply, coming from a person I admire and respect so much. I won’t speak about details because I don’t want this to be about any of those personal things. That’s between him and me. ‪#‎DontAskMeWhatHappened‬. But I will never forget how I was put down again and again, how my confidence in my sound was broken, and how it was impossible for me to put out my music. I even stopped believing in myself at some point… Your messages all this while really helped me a lot and gave me new motivation. I felt your love and I’m grateful for that. What I’m going to drop this week is daring, but it’s my way of overcoming my fear, stand up for the Art I believe in and move on. I hope I can count on you to have my back and get others to join the #UpNextMovement. The Movement is about the art of good music, and about giving other artists that make “different” sound the courage and strength to BE different, instead of getting frustrated by the industry. I’m sure many people will say I’m ungrateful and I want to cause drama but what I really want to do is to leave the old structures behind that suppressed my art and my sound, follow my dream and ‪#‎SetArtFree‬! That’s my mission with the #UpNextMovement. We need to allow Art to exist in Nigeria and I’m not shutting up no more. And if that upsets some people, so be it. Bless u all & thanks for being with me. – Milli.

Salisu Yusuf, Super Eagles Caretaker Coach Wants Full Time Job

Featured Image

Nigeria caretaker coach, Salisu Yusuf has asked the powers that be to give him the job full-time.

The former Enyimba and Kano Pillars coach was in charge of the friendlies against Mali and Luxembourg, which ended in victories.

The NFF are looking to announce a permanent fixture for the position before the 2018 World Cup qualifiers, which will start in October.

Yusuf is now a major contender for the spot, after the victories sent Nigeria up six spots on the Fifa ranking.

And the former assistant to the country’s last three coaches –- Stephen Keshi, Sunday Oliseh and Samson Siasia — said he is up to the ask.

“I can take responsibility at this level,” said the former El Kanemi and Ranchers Bees midfielder.

“I have been working as a coach for the past 15 years. I will work a lot harder (if appointed) because the responsibility is higher. It will not change my philosophy as a coach.

“I will not be surprised if I’m given the job because I have assisted three coaches. I know the job and I can do the job.”

Yusuf said he would favour players who are first choice at their clubs.

“I will use active players, playing for their clubs regularly — conditioning and match fitness will come from their club sides. We will only discus tactics and strategy for the four days we are together before a game,” he said.

“The quality of the player cannot be compromised and if he is active, he can take responsibility.

“If you are playing for your club, it will be easier for you to play for the national team.”

This is because the police force will only need the services of 10,000 Nigerians as directed by the supreme leader of the country, President Muhammadu Buhari.

While the Chairman of the Commission, Mike Okiro, had announced that the screening exercise of successful applicants would begin on June 6 in the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, the Bayelsa Police Command on Friday corroborated with the announcement.

A statement issued by the command’s spokesman, Mr Asinim Butswat, disclosed that the command will display the list of shortlisted candidates at the entrance of the Police Headquarters in Ovom, Yenagoa.

The statement read: “The Bayelsa State Police Command wishes to inform the general public, particularly Bayelsans who applied for various cadre in the ongoing Police recruitment exercise, that the list of shortlisted candidates is out.

“The names of candidates will be pasted at the entrance of Bayelsa State Police Command on Friday June 3 from 10.00 a.m.

Among those shortlisted are 44,661 for cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police; 87,736 for cadet Inspector and 205,830 for Police Constables.

It was a sad end for about 800,000 applicants, who were pruned out even without a chance to interview as the force complained that majority of the candidates failed to meet up with the 28 years stipulated age requirement – most applicants were said to be within the age of 30 and 34 years.

Nigeria Loses N1.3bn Daily To Attacks On Oil Facilities By Avengers

Featured Image

With the price of crude oil at about $48 per barrel, there are strong indications that Nigeria is losing about 140,000 barrels – an estimated $6.72 million (N1.3 billion) – of the product on daily basis due to attacks by militants on oil facilities.

Two oil firms operating in Nigeria, Eno and Aiteo have complained that they are losing about 140,000 barrels of crude daily at their oilfields in Bayelsa state, due to recent attacks on their facilities by the militants of the Niger Delta Avengers.

According to Eni, an Italian energy firm and parent company of Nigerian Agip Oil Company (NAOC), production was cut by 65,000 barrels per day following Friday’s attack on its pipeline in Bayelsa state.

A spokesperson for Eni confirmed the development to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday.

The spokesperson said: “The total deferred production due to the attack is 65,000 barrels of oil equivalent daily.

“I can confirm that. There is no further impact on production, since all production from the swamp area has already been stopped days ago.”

In the same vein, Shola Omole, the spokesman for Aiteo, operator of the Nembe Creek Trunk Line which came under attack by Niger Delta Avengers on May 28, said the line which conveyed crude to Bonny export terminal had been shut.

According to Omole, about 75,000 barrels daily production was deferred as the line remained shut.

It would be recalled on Thursday, the Minister of State for Petroleum, Mr Ibe Kachikwu, said that Nigeria was producing 1.6 million barrels per day which excludes further production outages due to attack on Agip, Chevron and Shell.

#Euro2016: Deschamps Praises N’golo Kante “He Makes It Look Easy”

Featured Image

France manager Didier Deschamps praised how N’golo Kante makes his game look easy, as the midfielder is trying to get a spot in the starting XI.

The Leicester City midfielder played for 88 minutes in the 3-0 win over Scotland. The 25-year-old was instrumental for the EPL club, as they won their first title, which put him in Deschamps sights for the first time.

Lassana Diarra’s withdrawal from the squad has also increased the midfielder’s chance of starting in the base of midfield.

“Everything looks simple and easy with [Kante],” the France coach said. “And I know that it is not always easy, I have played sometimes at the same position.

“Sometimes, it is difficult. But N’Golo Kante knows what he has to do and he does it well, very well, for the team.

“He can relaunch the game. I am happy for him. He is a discreet man, he is quiet but he is here. And he always smiles. He has arrived [in the squad] not long ago.

“In March, he showed already many qualities. I am not anxious. He has a fluent game. Everything he does is fluent.”

France begin their European Championship campaign with a match against Group A opponents Romania in Paris on Friday.

Nelly, who is a student of Industrial Chemistry at the Delta State University, was arrested after a set up by Wizkid’s manager Sunday Are.

READ: OVO Sound Radio Debuted a New Wizkid Song [Listen]

Are revealed that Nelly had been defrauding people with Wizkid’s name for over 3 years using Wizkid’s name, and has defrauded people of over $65,000. He had been tipped off by potential Australian clients, who became wary of a fraud when someone in Nelly’s team had spoken to them from Nigeria when Wizkid was in Zambia for a show.

“They said someone wanted to collect money from them in Lagos, Nigeria, for Wizkid to come and perform. They now found out that I was in Zambia. They now wondered how possible it was for Wizkid’s manager to be in Zambia, while Wizkid was in Lagos. They managed to get my number and called me.

“I planned with them on how to make this arrest. I talked to them to convince the suspect to come and collect cash in a hotel in Lagos. That was how I managed to arrest her. She came along with two friends. They were two ladies and a guy. She looked like a guy.

“It took us three to four hours before we could believe she was a lady. She wore native clothes and spotted low cut, like she is Sunday Are. She wore Rolex wrist watch. She bought clothes for the lady that came with her because that one said she didn’t have any clothes good enough to wear to come and collect the money. The arrest happened in a hotel in Lagos.

“I planted policemen inside the hotel room. The people gave the lady an Australian number, saying the Australian didn’t have a Nigerian number. Everything looked genuine. The show was to be in Australia, the phone number was an Australian number and the man she was speaking with, was a white man. But the man was actually in Australia, directing them to come to the hotel to collect cash. They entered the room and we arrested them,” he concluded.

MASSOB Pledges ‘Unalloyed’ Allegiance To Niger Delta Avengers

Featured Image

The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), has on Saturday, declared an ‘unalloyed’ allegiance to the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) and other pro-Biafra groups from within that region.

READ ALSO: Buhari Abandons Trip To Ogoniland Over ‘Assassination Threats’

The declaration of allegiance was issued in a statement by the national leader of MASSOB, Comrade Uchenna Madu.

According to the statement, the group said it was happy with the firmness and sincerity with which the NDA was supporting the struggle for Biafra realization.

The statement read: “The consistency, selflessness and pragmatism of these Biafra warriors gladdens our hearts.

“It shows and proves the positiveness and acceptability of Biafra by our brethren across the Niger. It also rubbished the earlier diversionary, cowardice, stupid and negative comments / statements and position of some leaders of Ethnic nationalities of the South South who are brainwashed by Hausa Fulani Yoruba oligarchies against Biafra”.

He continued: “the activities of the current Niger Delta Warriors is a natural confirmation that Biafra stretches towards the gulf of Guinea. The natural inhabitants and indigenous people of these lands are Biafrans by birth but Nigeria by citizens.

“MASSOB has made it open that we want Biafra though we choose non violence approach. We shall also support every genuine, legitimate methodology and approach chosen by any group towards Biafran self determination.

“Because of our non violence approach, the Nigerian security forces have killed thousands of MASSOB members and other groups members since 1999 when the current struggle started.”

“These extra judicial killings of non violent, unarmed Biafra agitators have gone unchecked by Nig Government and international watchdogs against human rights abuses, brutalities, genocides and pogroms including United Nation.

“The Western world seems not to react against the Ethnic cleansing of our people because of economic and diplomatic interest in Biafra natural treasures which they aligned with Nigeria and kept their hypocritical eyes closed against the fate of over 60 millions Biafrans.

“Nigeria and her likes understand the only language of violence. Today, Buhari’s military soldiers are being disgraced, economic power block is being dismantled, diplomatic relations being shattered, his Government in disarray even himself is confused because of the activities of Biafran agitators in the Eastern region.

“Our comrades from Niger Delta who are more United and focused than groups from Igbo based hinterland should not relent as the knees of our oppressors shall bow soon. They will beg Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and others”.

Recovered Loot: Presidency Speaks On Why FG Failed To Name Looters

Featured Image

The Federal Government on Saturday announced that it had made cash recoveries totaling N78,325,354,631.82; $185,119,584.61; £3,508,355.46 and €11, 250, from looters of public treasury, from May 29, 2015 to May 25, 2016.

READ ALSO: FG Publishes Details Of Recovered Assets, Withholds Names Of Looters

However, the President Muhammadu Buhari led government failed to print out to the public, the names of those who looted from the national treasury as earlier promised.

With regard to this, a reliable information gathered from an impeccable source, stated that names of looters were not published because of the need to avoid destabilising the cooperation being enjoyed in the recovery of the looted assets.

READ ALSO: Nigerians Wait In Vain As Buhari Fails To Publish Details Of Looters, Recovered Loots

Vanguard Newspaper quoted a top Presidency source as saying:

“This thing is ongoing and one of the reasons why we did not release the names was that without going to court we were able to retrieve all that amount of money. If you release names, other people who want to do voluntary returns will not do so. What we need is the money and not the names”.

“Secondly, many of those who returned the money are not necessarily guilty. For instance, if my party gave me money to go and campaign in an election, how am I to know that that money was from an illicit source?

“For instance if money is given to a newspaper for publication, you cannot criminalise the newspaper because it did not know where the money came from. If the newspaper returns the money would it be fair to publicise the name of the newspaper.

“If you listen to the mob you will just end up in the ditch. The practical thing is that we want more money to come in. And we don’t even know what are the terms of the agreement by which anybody returned money.

“So, for those who are saying that we ought to release the names, they got it completely wrong; it would be counterproductive. In fact, some people could go to court suing us for defamation and libel and then the whole essence would be lost and all people would be talking would be about the court cases. That is not what Nigeria needs now. What Nigeria needs now is to be focused and

“we believe we have taken the right step in letting Nigerians know how much has been recovered, $9 billion without going to court”.

The Federal Government on Saturday announced that it had made cash recoveries totaling N78,325,354,631.82; $185,119,584.61; £3,508,355.46 and €11, 250, from looters of public treasury, from May 29, 2015 to May 25, 2016.

The Acting Director Defence Information, Brig. Gen. Rabe Abubakar, who brought this revelation to light, said that the insurgents had a plan to carry out massive bomb attacks during early morning and evening prayers in the month of Ramadan.

#CopaAmerica2016: Guerrero The Lone Scorer In Peru Win Over Haiti

Featured Image

Paolo Guerrero was the man of the moment for Peru, as they secured a 1-0 win over Haiti in their Copa America Centenario opener.

The 32-year-old scored the lone goal at the CenturyLink Field in Seattle, giving Peru a fine start to the Copa.

The goal also means the forward is Peru’s all time highest goalscorer with 27 goals, moving past Teofilo Culibas.

Peru were the better team, and could have gone ahead at halftime, only for Edison Flores to send his chance straight at the crossbar, after Guerrero set him up.

But Flores managed to return the favor in the 61st minute, putting in a delightful cross to Guerrero, who lost his man and converted the winning goal with a diving header.

The win puts Peru top of Group B, with Brazil still to face Ecuador later in the day.

Brazil 0-0 Ecuador: Bolanos Has Goal Disallowed In Stalemate

Featured Image

A goalless encounter was how the match between Brazil and Ecuador ended in Pasadena, with both teams failing to find the net.

The match started out in a lively manner, but the excitement dwindled, as the match ended 0-0.

Unfortunately for Ecuador, they could have secured all three points, only to have a goal disallowed.

Miler Bolanos cross, turned shot, somehow found the back of the net, after Brazil goalie Alisson fumbled the ball. But the cross was deemed to have gone out of play.

Brazil was forced into two changes after edging Panama in its final pre-Copa fixture, with Miranda dropping to the bench due to a muscle problem in the build-up.

Luiz Gustavo dropped out of the squad completely because of personal problems during the week, while Douglas Santos made way as Marquinhos, Casemiro and Filipe Luis came into the line-up.

While Neymar opted to skip the Copa America for the Olympics.

Muhammad Ali: The Greatest Sportsman Ever, Goes Home – Tony Okoroji

Featured Image

This is dedicated to one of the greatest Africans that ever lived.

A few hours ago, news broke that the incomparable Muhammad Ali, the boxer who flew like a butterfly, stung like a bee has gone on. At 74, Ali finally fell to Parkinson disease in an Arizona Hospital.

The views and opinions expressed here are those of Tony Okoroji and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

Muhammed Ali occupies a significant place in my list of the top ten black people of all times. These are the people whose lives have reshaped the perception of the world about the black person. By their stubbornness, they transformed the African from being a hewer of wood and fetcher of water for the rest of mankind. From being merely slaves, Africans may today compete with the rest of God’s children for God’s bounties. If the truth must be told, without the likes of Muhammed Ali, there never would have been a Barack Obama, an American President of African heritage.

Ali was like a Donald Trump but a much better polished version. He had the gift of the garb. He was bold. No one out-talked Muhammed Ali. No one out hyped a fight than Muhammed Ali. “It will be a thriller when I beat the Gorilla in Manila”, Ali boasted about his impending fight with Joe Frazier in the Philippines. Ali messed with the brains of Joe Frazier, and won.

Ali brought intellect into boxing and turned what otherwise was a cheap sport into intriguing and respected entertainment and a global money spinner. He did it without being subservient to anyone of any colour and in so doing gave the black personality a lot of respect.

While Muhammed Ali taunted everyone with his macho black image, Papa James Brown from the Apollo Theatre in Harlem was saying it loud, “I am black and proud!” and Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr was holding thousands spell bound by his eloquence and his words. To me, this trio in America may have done more to reshape the perception of everyone in the world about the true value of the black person. To me, they laid the groundwork for the world to finally understand and appreciate the spirit of the great Nelson Mandela.

In the coming days, a lot will be written and said about Muhammed Ali, the greatest sportsman of all times. One thing that will not be in dispute is that there will never be another Muhammed Ali.

Tony Okoroji, former president of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), is chairman of the Board of Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON).
