Mara Wilson, best known as Matilda in the popular same-named 1996 movie has come out as bisexual in a solidarity statement following the tragic massacre of forty-nine people at a gay club in Orlando, Sunday, (June, 12).
The 28-year-old actress took to Twitter to show her support to the LGBT community beginning with a tweet of a throwback photo of herself at a gay club when she was 18.
Proceeding the photograph, Mara Wilson wrote in a series of tweets, “I haven’t been to one since college, except once when a friend brought me along. I didn’t feel like I belonged there.”
“But the LGBTQ community has always felt like home, especially a few years later when I, uh, learned something about myself.”

One fan asked her if she identified as a bisexual and Mara replied she saw herself as a ‘2’ on the Kinsey scale.
The Kinsey scale is the yardstick to know how gay a person is. It ranges from exclusively heterosexual (0) to exclusively homosexual (6). Two relates to being predominately heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual.
Wilson added, “I used to identify as mostly straight. I’ve embraced the Bi/Queer label lately.”
