Portugal won the 2016 European Championship after an extra-time goal against France.
Portugal overcame the early loss of captain Cristiano Ronaldo to beat hosts France in the Euro 2016 final and claim their first major tournament triumph thanks to substitute Eder’s superb extra-time winner.
Eder’s long-range shot beat the despairing dive of France captain Hugo Lloris and then sealed a first ever major tournament win for Portugal.
Eder shook off Laurent Koscielny and fired a low, right-foot shot to break French hearts in the 109th minute after the match at the Stade de France had ended level at 0-0 after 90 minutes.
Ronaldo was taken off on a stretcher in the 25th minute after he failed to recover from a heavy challenge by France’s attacking midfielder Dimitri Payet.
Nani took over as captain but Portugal were short of their most important player and Ronaldo’s absence meant being even more dependent on a system whereby all four of their midfielders would routinely drop back into defence when the team did not have the ball.
France, the firm favourites, were unable to capitalise on Ronaldo’s absence, although they almost won it in the 91st minute when substitute Andre-Pierre Gignac turned and hit the inside of the post.
He returned to sit on the bench, his left knee bandaged, and limped onto the pitch to encourage his teammates at the start of both periods of extra time.
At least 81 persons have been killed in attacks by Fulani Herdsmen in Logo and Ukum council areas, in Benue state, in the last two weeks, victims and survivors recount.
Speaking exclusively to Channelstv, on the invasion of rural communities by the armed cattle rustlers, the traditional ruler of Logo, Chief Jimmy Meeme, said that in Logo alone, 70 people were killed in six out of the 10 council wards in his domain.
This is just as the State Governor, Samuel Ortom, bewailed the inability of the security agencies to arrest the perpetrators of the coordinated attacks.
Speaking on the matter, the spokesman of the Benue State Police Command, ASP Moses Yamu, dismissed allegations of neglect of duty by security personnel, stating that only 22 deaths were recorded in Logo and Ukum local government areas.
“The Governor” series a high octane political drama which tells the story of a woman thrust into power she never bargained for aired its debut series on Thursday, (July, 7) at 9PM WAT on EbonyLife TV.
Written by Yinka Ogun, Debo Oluwatuminu and Tunde Babalola and directed by Ema Edosio, the storyline tells the tale of Angela Ochello, (played by British-Nigerian actress Caroline Chikezie of Aeon Flux, BBC’s Casualty, Channel 4’s As If) the Deputy Governor of Savannah State who with no governorship ambitions finds herself suddenly entangled in a web of political intrigue after the untimely death of the incumbent Governor.
The story transits its audience on a journey with the character, Angela, to see how with the help of her trusted Chief of Staff, she learns to maneuver through the rough and shark-infested waters of politics whilst balancing the demands of her matrimonial home.
“The Governor’s” scenery is set in Savannah, a coastal state in Western Africa established in 1964 and extremely rich in iron ore.
Known for its widely spaced grassland with temperate weather conditions and unique tourist attractions, Savannah has a population of 15 million people majority of who are fishermen and farmers.
The rich cultural diversity and political awareness of the people makes it one of the most politically active states in the country.
Constituents and citizens alike will be taken through the shadowy often gruesome corridors of power as the series promises to be packed with lots of intrigue, drama and sometimes humor.

France will be looking to continue their incredible record at major competitions on home soil when they take on Portugal in the European Championship final on Sunday.
Les Bleus will go in to the match full of confidence, having won both of the last two major tournaments they have hosted, the 1998 World Cup and the 1984 Euros, and have beaten Portugal in the last 10 meetings between the two nations in a run stretching all the way back to 1975.
The French also had to beat world champions Germany in the semi-final, while Portugal eased past Wales.
However, the one positive for Portugal is their 2-0 win over the Welsh in the final four was their first win inside 90 minutes at the Euros and by far their best performance of the tournament, so they are seemingly hitting form at just the right time.
France have been consistently good throughout the competition and will feel like they can come away with the trophy if they are able to simply maintain the level of performance they have already shown.
The hosts will need to keep a close eye on Cristiano Ronaldo. The 31-year-old Real Madrid superstar has made no secret of his desire to win a major international tournament with Portugal and he has never, and may never again, come this close.
His determination to succeed on Sunday will be intense and hard to deal with.
“Nobody thought Portugal could reach the final,” Ronaldo said. I hope that we’ll be smiling and that it will be tears of joy in the end. I’ve always said my dream was to win a trophy with Portugal. We’re closer to doing it and I believe that we’ll win.”
The French have several key players of their own and the attacking potential at their disposal could prove nightmarish for Portugal to keep track of.
While France can focus their efforts to limit Ronaldo, the Portuguese defence will have to cope with Euros top scorer Antoine Griezmann, an in-form Dimitri Payet and the always dangerous Paul Pogba, to name just three of the options available to France going forward.
The host country has had its fair share of issues throughout the competition from striking workers to terrorism threats and head coach Didier Deschamps is glad to be able to provide some positivity to the country.
“We don’t have the power to solve people’s problems but we can generate emotions so they forget their worries. We generate passion and fervour, we can see that,” he told journalists.
France have no new injury or suspension concerns. Deschamps played the same team in both the semi and quarter-finals and is expected to do so again in the final.
Portugal are sweating over the fitness of Pepe, who missed the semi-final with a thigh injury, while William Carvalho is expected to return to the fray after serving a one-match suspension.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has finally stated that the point system copied from its website as criteria for admission into tertiary institutions in the country and currently circulating was a mere illustration.
This disclosure was made known in a statement issued on Sunday in Lagos state, by the board’s Head, Media and Information, Fabian Benjamin, and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
It said that the point system that was wrongfully copied from the board’s website and currently being circulated by some media was used for illustration by the Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde.
The statement said: “Sequel to the recent workshop convened by the Minister of Education on the modality for 2016 admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, the Federal Government approved the re-enforcement of admissions guideline recognised by law.
“This is following the cancellation of the post Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
“This is not the point system as widely circulated in some media.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the board wishes to state clearly that the point system is an illustration by the Registrar of JAMB.
“It is meant to demonstrate how a few institutions were using the point system to select candidates while some of their counterparts were subjecting candidates to written test.
“The illustrations are contained in a paper presented by the registrar and placed on our website and was adopted by the media wrongly as the 2016 guideline for admission.’’
It added that the 2016 admissions would be conducted purely on the three existing admission pillars of merit, catchment area and educationally less developed states through the following process.
According to the statement, firstly, a list of candidates who qualified for screening into individual institutions based on the three stipulated criteria will be presented.
The Houston Rockets has announced that leading scorer, James Harden signed a contract extension on Saturday.
According to multiple sources, the contract which runs till the 2019-20 season, is set to make the star $118.1 million.
Harden who had two years left on his previous contract, got a $26.5 million raise for 2016-17. And a $28.3 million raise for 2017-18 season.
“He’ll be around here for a while,” Rocket owner Leslie Alexander said. “I don’t think people appreciate how great he is, but we certainly do.”
Last season, Harden, in leading the NBA in minutes, had career-average-highs in points (29) and assists (7.5), while playing in 38.1 minutes per game. Harden also had 12 games with 40 or more points and had 18 games where he finished with double-digit assists.
“Ever since I stepped foot in Houston, there’s been nothing but love and support from Les and (GM) Daryl Morey and the front office. It’s truly like a home to me. I’m happy to be here another four years and a lot of great things are going to happen. It’s been progress, it’s been a buildup and the addition of our new signings and a couple of other pieces, some really good things are going to happen next year.”
“This is home for me,” Harden said. “Whatever it takes we try to build and find ways to get better and that’s my focus and that’s my priority.”
Pupils of seventeen schools, who were engaged in a demonstration on June 6, have been urged to stay at home as the Oyo State Government announced the reopening of public secondary schools on Monday, July 11, 2016.
This information was conveyed in a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Toye Arulogun, on Sunday in Ibadan, the state capital.
The statement is coming in the wake of the education crisis in the state, which was due to opposition to Governor Abiola Ajimobi’s proposed policy to involve private bodies in the operation of the schools.
Quite a number of students of some schools in Ibadan, had on June 6, embarked on anti-Ajimobi demonstration, after organised labour in the state, opposed the government’s proposed public private partnership policy on education.
The statement said the decision to reopen the schools was in response to appeals by the Parents Teachers Association, (PTA) community as well as religious leaders and traditional rulers.
However, the 17 schools that participated in the demonstration, as stated by Mr. Arulogun, are excluded from government’s reopen order.
The affected schools are Baptist Secondary School, Senior Junior School, Oke Ado, Ansarudeen Secondary School, Liberty Road, Ansarudeen High School, Liberty Road, Ibadan Grammar School and Senior and Junior School, Molete.
Also included are Olubi Memorial Grammar School, Molete, St. Luke Grammar School, Senior and Junior School, Molete, St. Luke College, Molete and Yejide Girls Grammar School, Molete as well as Methodist Grammar School, Senior and Junior, Bodija.
Others are Methodist Secondary School, Bodija, Oba Akinyele Memorial High School, Bashorun, Idi-Ape, Ikolaba Grammar School, Agodi, Ikolaba Secondary School, Agodi, Ikolaba High School, Agodi, Lagelu Grammar School, Agugu, Okebadan High School, Oluyoro, and Ibadan Boys High School, Okebola.
The government said the protesting students indulged in violence and destroyed “government property and those of individuals and corporate bodies by students and teachers of some schools in Oyo State.”
“This violent activity threatened the peace and security of the state and endangered the lives of the students who participated in this breach of peace and affront on constituted authority”, Mr. Arulogun said.
He added that “Consequently, the Oyo State Government was constrained to shut down public schools throughout the State to safeguard the lives of the students and protect the lives and property of the citizenry; a decision that was taken in the line of its primary duty of ensuring peace and safety in the state.”
According to the statement, the students of the affected schools must tender a written apology to the government through their school management before their schools can be reopen.
Robbie Fowler does not seem to be a fan of Pogba. The former England striker says the France international is overrated and has been sub par at the Euros.
In a brutally honest column, Fowler has written ahead of the Euro 2016 final. He says the 23-year-old is a selfish player, who does not score a lot of goals.
“Manchester United’s pursuit of Paul Pogba is a case of them showing their teeth… because they can,” he wrote for the Mirror.
“It is a massive statement of intent from the most financially powerful club in the world, designed, I suspect, to show they still have plenty of bite in the transfer market.
“But £100m? C’mon. I’m sorry, but Pogba is massively overrated. Look, he must be a good player because so many people in the game speak about his qualities and you don’t get to the top in Italy without having talent.
“I just don’t see it. He hasn’t really stood out in Europe and most certainly not at these European Championships.
“He’s done OK against pretty limited opposition for France, but what does he bring? Energy and athleticism to midfield, but so does N’Golo Kante.
“He’s skilful but selfish, not many goals, which for me is a fundamental problem if you’re going to spend £100m on him.”

Kelly Osbourne has decided to write a memoir titled There’s No F***ing Secret and the book deal has been signed and sealed.
Scheduled to be released next year, the autobiography will be “the uncensored truth” about her life and all the sordid details of her parents marriage.
The 31-year-old said she is excited to share the stories that shaped who she is today.
A New York publishing source said about Kelly’s family drama and its place in the book: “She makes it clear that she had to plead with Sharon to stop her filing divorce papers after Ozzy’s philandering with his hair stylist. He only got that lifeline after Kelly and her brother Jack and sister Aimee begged their mother to give him one final chance. Kelly in particular told her mom he would never be able to survive on his own. Ozzy was left “squirming with remorse” after his relationship with celebrity stylist Michelle Pugh, 45, became public. Kelly will spell out how her dad became so flattered at being treated like a rock god by Michelle that he dived into a romance with her.
Ozzy Osbourne, Kelly’s 67-year-old father has been ordered to go to rehab for sex addiction treatment after this summer’s annual Ozzfest tour.
His wife Sharon Osbourne wants him to check into the same £31,000-a-month clinic attended by golfer Tiger Woods.
In her book There’s No F***ing Secret Kelly discloses the true reason her father became connected to the younger stylist as she likens the attraction to his Black Sabbath heyday when he was still being chased by groupies wherever he went.
Kelly suggests her father’s ego got the best of him.
The media personality and her 30-year-old brother Jack, 30, also persuaded 63-year-old Sharon to not kick their father out as it could affect all of their careers.
Ozzy Osbourne and his TV reporter cum documentary-making son, Jack, are due to debut their new series, Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour in America on the History Channel on July 27.
Jack described the setting of the show and what their fans should expect, “The criteria for our destinations was pretty simple. The trips had to be fun. I was amazed in Houston to discover what a space nerd my dad is. Even the Nasa experts were amazed.”
We’ll definitely keep our eyes and hands out for Kelly Osbourne’s book as it would make for an interesting read.

Wales captain, Ashley Williams is eyeing more success on the international scene. And he believes they can win the world cup in 2018.
The Swansea City defender played a crucial role in Wales exploits at the continental showpiece. As they qualified for a major tournament for the first time in 58 years.
Wales shocked the world, by topping a group which had England and Russia. They also made it as far as the semifinal, before losing 2-0 to Portugal.
“We’ve said to ourselves on the bus: ‘imagine if we had won the tournament’. Because looking at the streets, it feels like we have,” said the 31-year-old as the team were paraded around Cardiff on their return home.
“After the Russia World Cup hopefully it will be the same again, but with a trophy.”
Hyacinth Idibia, one of the younger brothers of Nigerian music icon, 2face Idibia has dropped hints of a new album after staying away from the musical scene for almost a decade.
The Benue-native was a member of the now defunct music group ‘Da Natives’ with AJ, although they separated in 2008.
In an interview with Weekend Magazine, Hyacinth revealed he’s working on a new album titled ‘Believe’.
He said, “This interview is the first public mention of the project and its name. I’ve been working quietly, up till now that it is fully ready. But I’ll start with dropping some singles to burn up the charts first before the album itself comes out.”
On why he has been flying under the radar all this while, the returning artists said he has been taking care of his family, getting some work experience, and of course doing music.
“The music has been low-key all these years, but very much alive,” Hyacinth Idibia said, “I have been living in the United States for the past 7 years now, so family life takes a great deal of my time. I’m also running a couple of business ventures, as well as schooling. But I’m now ready for the music industry again. This time, there’s no stopping me. I just hope my loyal fans will take me back. I get private messages from fans all the time, asking me when I will drop a new song , and if I am still coming back to music. The answer I always give is ‘yes’.”
Hyacinth confirmed he has a duet in the works with his elder brother 2face as well as other fresh artists he would love to collaborate with though the project is “top secret”, for now.
He also confessed to living in his brother’s shadows.
“People tend to compare us. At first I was letting it get to me, and it was making it hard for me to truly be myself. Due to the high standards he has set in the music industry, it’s difficult for people to see me for who I truly am, without having to bring him into the picture.”
Reminiscing on a previous incident, the artist said, “I remember some years back when I went for an interview at a TV station and I thought I was supposed to discuss myself. But before I knew it, they shifted most of the questions about me to my brother. I thought to myself ‘Hey, this is supposed to be about me. However, I have come to realize that I have to do what I have to. Regardless of whatsoever, people will still talk anyways and that’s a fact.”
The younger Idibia observed the Nigerian music industry is doing pretty well globally now as he thanked the hard-working artistes, video directors, DJs, and so on who keep the flag flying and rep the nation outside her shores.
Hopefully this Idibia will sate our appetite just like his elder brother has been doing continuously.
Eight suspended journalists from the South Africa Broadcasting Corporation, SABC, have been honored with the prestigious Nat Nakasa Award, Saturday, (June, 9).
The award is given out annually by Print Media South Africa, the South African National Editors’ Forum and the Nieman Society in recognition of any media practitioner who has displayed certain qualities such as “integrity and reported fearlessly; displayed commitment to serve the people of South Africa; resisted censorship.” Among other finer traits.
Amongst the awarded journalists were Thandeka Gqubule, Vuyo Mvoko, Lukhanyo Calata, who had been suspended in July by the public broadcaster for speaking out against the SABC’s newly-introduced editorial policy changes and were awaiting disciplinary hearings, according to SABC.
NatNakasa’s award for fearless, brave journalism were given to those who had been suspended or disciplined by Hlaudi Motsoeneng.
Born Nathaniel Ndazana Nakasa, he became better known as Nat Nakasa, a South African journalist and short story writer who died during exile in New York in 1965 at the age of 28.
Nakasa had a brief but dynamic career characterized by his journalistic courage and integrity.
During the 1960s, the press in South Africa wasn’t free. Although voices bellowed in anger during township meetings and shebeens, it was never written in print.
John Cena revealed he isn’t just muscle and punches as he let his affectionate side take over while gushing over his girlfriend, Nikki Bella.
In an exclusive interview with US Weekly, the 39-year-old described his four-year relationship with the 32-year-old Total Divas star as “extremely special” while mentioning the extra effort exerted in making their relationship work, especially, as they are both in the spotlight.
Cena added that his woman was unperturbed by the myriad of female fans who threw themselves at him.
“She’s truly the love of my life, and she deserves to be treated as such. Because we’re in the same industry, she truly understands that there will be fans that are looking for a different sort of admiration, but it takes two to be disrespectful, and I would like to think that in most every encounter, I try to treat her with as much respect as I can. And I’m not perfect.”
He continued, “I eff up a lot, but that always goes through my head, to try to treat her with respect.”
Chris Brown is in the news again, and this time it’s for yet another misdemeanor. Add that to the list of offenses he has pulled this year.
In no particular order, here’s a list of the father-of-one’s offenses so far.
Chris had an angry exchange with his publicist Nicole Perna over failing to secure Vogue, GQ or any other publications he wanted for his clothing line.
Perna texted him, “Loooove all the black pyramid pieces … awesome collection!”and Chris Brown La Douche responded, “I don’t want you texting me compliments with no results. Get in the game.”
Perna fired back, “Anna Wintour doesn’t want to f*** with you. These editors don’t want to f*** with you. The majority of my time is spent on damage control. I am constantly cleaning s*** up and having your back.”
Brown really didn’t care about what she had to say as he replied, “NICOLE, you texting me as if I will give a f*** if u dont work for me or not … Do whatever makes u feel better. Me personally, I DONT GIVE A F***!!!”
Chris then texted his manager Micheal ‘Mike G’ Guirguis whom he hired in 2012, “Mike, this bitch got all the balls in the world talking to me but can’t talk to the editors or anyone for that matter when they release bulls*** in the press … Send this bitch her termination.”
In a bid to calm things down, Perna texted Chris, “Chris, respect. You’re in my prayers x.”, Chris Brown slammed her with, “Bitch u in my nightmares.”
It just got interesting, remember Mike G the manager he asked to fire Perna? Well he allegedly assaulted him too.
Mike claimed Brown took him in a room and rained unprovoked punches on his face and neck, which landed him in the ER.
Mike G’s attorney, Patty Glaser filed a lawsuit against Brown in which it claimed rather than being remorseful, the Sex You Back To Sleep singer mocked Mike on social media all the while bragging about the beating.
Mike admitted that Brown had told people working on his tour, he would beat them the way he did him if they stepped out of line.
Chris Brown’s response to the lawsuit was through an Instagram video. In it he claimed he fired Mike G for stealing money from him.
He said, “Don’t nobody come out clean in this contest. Cos I could throw a big piece of shit. I’m talking about massive chunk, its like elephant shit mixed with donkey shit, probably with a bit of rabbit pebbles. I will throw the biggest piece of shit so we are not gonna play this game.”
On May 19, video footage emerged of his concert in Cannes, France, depicting Chris Brown angrily stomping on a man’s head. Brown said he was defending himself.
For the fifth time in one year, his neighbors in his Tarzana, California residence complained to the police about Brown disturbing the peace by doing doughnuts on an ATV.
Earlier in July, Chris Brown was reported to have rented a pad in Ibiza and had trashed the place up, carved the walls with knives and puked all over the rental, leaving the pace a slimey mess.
Well, Chris Brown proved he was a step smarter as he made a video recording of the pad in its exact state as he was leaving which was squeaky clean. When the story began to filter he had trashed the Ibiza pad, Brown released the video and put to bed the allegations once and for all.
Chris Brown’s songs are back to back hits, so are his Misdemeanors, and you haven’t heard the last of it.
Wherever there’s Breezy there’s shit about to hit the fan. The good thing is he always comes out of every drama like a boss.
Guess that’s why you can’t help but love the guy… and his music.
Jaden Smith might just be 18-years-old, yet he seems to have carved his own niche in life by breaking from the norm, discarding tradition and forging his own path especially with fashion.
The young son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett is the cover star of Nylon Magazine August issue and in it he discusses his sense of style which has been termed from weird to cool to in-between.
Jaden who is the face of Louis Vuitton feels as comfortable wearing a skirt as he would wearing a suit, to him a piece of cloth is a piece of cloth and has no monotony for a particular gender.
He intends using his clothing and lifestyle brand MSFTSrep, a collection of T-shirts featuring eye drawings or Martin Luther artwork and French terry straps, tie-dye socks, and joggers, to “inspire and change the way people think about clothing and about life.”
Where does he get his confidence from? And how does he deal with the bullying which usually comes with breaking the norm or what society has construed as acceptable? “You just have to believe in yourself, you know,” Jaden said.
He added, “The world is going to keep bashing me for whatever I do, and I’m going to keep not caring. I’m going to keep doing the same things—I’m going to keep doing more things. I’m going to take most of the blows for my fellow MSFTS. So, you know, in five years when a kid goes to school wearing a skirt, he won’t get beat up and kids won’t get mad at him. It just doesn’t matter. I’m taking the brunt of it so that later on, my kids and the next generations of kids will all think that certain things are normal that weren’t expected before my time.”
While covering British GQ Style this year, Jaden Smith confessed, “I feel like people are kind of confused about gender norms. I feel like people don’t really get it. I’m not saying that I get it, I’m just saying that I’ve never seen any distinction.”
“I don’t see man clothes and woman clothes, I just see scared people and comfortable people.”
To Jaden, there are no man clothes or woman clothes.
Famous for his character as a police brutality victim named Oscar Grant III in 2013’s Fruitvale Station, Michael B Jordanshared a lengthy post on Instagram urging the “disproportionally, dehumanized murder of black people to stop”.
He cited both murders as just a few of the countless incidents of violent neglect, poor training and lack of accountability for those responsible.
Also referencing the killings of five officers in Dallas, the Creed actor said, “I care about the safety of my black brothers and sisters and my blue ones too.”
Jordan stated that his mission is to channel his anger and energy along with his love and hope for the future into actively finding solutions.
Read his full statement:
I’ve been trying to process all that has occurred in the last few days and I’m still looking for the words to express my pain.
The fact is Alton Sterling and Philando Castile were not unfortunate accidents. These are just a few of the countless incidents of violent neglect, poor training and lack of accountability that clearly illustrate one thing: Black people are being disproportionally dehumanized and murdered, this must stop!
I care about the safety of my black brothers and sisters and my blue ones too. There are no adequate words for the fallen officers in Dallas. From the bottom of my heart, I thank them for protecting the peaceful protestors, their courage and effort to support us is what we need more of.
This hits close to home. It could have easily been myself, my little brother, my dad, one of my friends, or any of us. When one of us is murdered because a police officer is “afraid for their life”, it pains us — we feel it.
In the wake of these senseless murders, our homes are forever broken; families are left to figure it out. I’m concerned about my mother, my sister, and all my magical black women that are left to pick up the pieces.
Often they are not acknowledged or thanked for being on the front line fighting these battles for and with us, but know your continued strength, courage, and unwavering love and support gives us the strength to keep fighting.
Finding solutions in these times of survival are seemingly hard to identify but we must continue to keep moving forward.
Alternatively, violence is not the answer; it only begets more fear and violence. This is the time to unify; our communities, our churches and our homes. My mission is to channel my anger and energy — along with my love and hope for the future into actively finding solutions.
Change will take all of us, we can no longer say or do . . . Nothing. ‘Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable.
Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.’ -MLK”
Kim Kardashian speaks up on #BlackLivesMatter as the mother-of-two took to her website to share how appalled she felt after watching the video of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile getting shot point-black by officers.
She began by describing her heartbreak at their deaths which she called, “senseless murder by police officers.”
The reality TV star went further to paint the kind of world she wants her children to live in, a world where all lives matter.
Kim expressed fear in raising her kids in an environment where they wouldn’t feel safe due to the color of their skin especially when the people who are supposed to protect them in the fist place are the ones killing them.
She also urged to avoid ebbing the fuel of hate and violence out of anger towards police officers since there are still sincere officers who actually take their oath of ‘protect and serve’ seriously.
Kim Kardashian called for peaceful strength in numbers to demand change in the judicial system so that brutality never goes unpunished.
She believes the situation is more than just another hashtag.
This week we watched Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, two innocent black men, get senselessly murdered by police officers. Like a lot of you guys, I watched the videos, and was appalled and completely heartbroken. I was left speechless, angry and numb.
I want my children to grow up knowing that their lives matter. I do not ever want to have to teach my son to be scared of the police, or tell him that he has to watch his back because the people we are told to trust—the people who “protect and serve”—may not be protecting and serving him because of the color of his skin.
The last thing we need is to fuel anger with more hate or violence, especially toward the many incredible police officers who risk their lives every single day to protect our families and communities. We must peacefully use the power of our voices and the strength of our numbers to demand changes in the judicial system so that brutality doesn’t ever go unpunished.
It is our responsibility as Americans and as parents to create a safe future for our children. We must do something NOW. We must speak up until we are heard and real, effective changes are made.
Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Freddie Gray, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Sean Bell … and unfortunately so many more.
Khloe and Lamar first filed for divorce in December 2013, but it was called off in October last year as she had to take care of Odom who was recuperating at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel on October, 13, 2015.
In May 2016, the reality TV star proceeded with the divorce a second time after putting it on hold to tend to her soon-to-be ex-husband’s health.
Khloe had earlier requested her attorney Laura Wasser withdraw the divorce petition that was awaiting a judge’s signature which was granted.
The 32 -year-old admitted in an interview with KIIS FM at the time, “I just thought it was really insensitive to [expetite the divorce]. I get it, I get why it’s confusing, I understand all of that. James Harden has been great. He’s been very supportive with everything.”
“There’s of course times where I’m sure he was really uncomfortable about some of the things, but I’m a very honest person and I have nothing to hide and I was very open with how I feel like I had to handle everything with Lamar,” she concluded.
Khloe’s wikipedia page still bears “Khloe Kardashian Odom”.
Lamar Odom will most likely get his requests as neither Khloe nor any of the Kardashians want a messy divorce.
An online newspaper is claiming that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has distanced itself from rumours making the round that it imposed the Point System Option (PSO) on higher institutions as the new admission guidelines for 2016 admission processes.
The online newspaper quoted Benjamin as saying that the examination body at no point made such a recommendation.
It said Benjamin also noted that “a section of the media had only scooped the information from a presentation to some education stakeholders by the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, which was posted on the examination body’s website.”
“This is even as he added that as against the report, JAMB would no longer issue any admission letter to any candidate but would ensure that the three admission pillars of Merit, Catchment Area and the Education Disadvantaged Areas must be observed by all the higher institutions across the country.”
He added: “It is irresponsible for any media to have credited any information that did not emanate from JAMB to us. JAMB did not create any new admission guidelines. Some people just went to our website to pick a document which was presented to a session of stakeholders comparing various admission systems by different institutions. “No university or polytechnic is instructed by JAMB to adopt such a policy. In fact, we won’t issue admission letter any longer as the Minister has mandated us.
What we are to do is to provide admission list and album to the institutions and ensure that the 45 per cent for merit; 35 per cent for catchment area and the 20 per cent for education disadvantaged areas, are observed to the letter. The universities are to issue admission letters individually.”
