Protect Me From Melaye – Tinubu Begs IGP

Featured Image

The lawmaker representing Lagos-Central senatorial district, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has written a petition to the acting Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, seeking his protection from attack by her Kogi-West counterpart, Senator Dino Melaye.

In the petition dated July 18, the wife of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, described Senator Melaye as a threat to her life.

The letter read:

“I am Senator Oluremi Tinubu representing the Lagos Central Senatorial District of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“During the proceedings of the senate on Tuesday, July 14 2016, I had cause to contribute to a matter of national importance. Apparently dissatisfied with my contributions, Senator Dino Melaye threw caution to the winds, resorted to vulgar abuse of my person and wanted to assault me.

“It was the timely intervention of a number of colleagues which prevented Senator Melaye from unleashing physical attack on me. However, as the leadership of the senate did not call him to order in the circumstance, he proceeded to threaten my life without any provocation whatsoever.

“In view of Senator Melaye’s antecedent, particularly in the House of Representatives, where a brawl led by him had led to the untimely death of a member, I have decided not to ignore his threat to my life. Therefore, I’m compelled to urge you to use your good offices to provide me with adequate security.

“Please accept the assurances of my highest regards and esteem.”

The duo clashed in the Senate last week where Senator Melaye threatened to beat up and impregnate the Lagos senator.

On his own part,  Melaye accused Tinubu of calling him a thug during a closed-door session of the Senate.

Alicia Keys Talks Motherhood, Complacency In A Relationship And Love For Her Family

Featured Image

Alicia Keys revealed becoming a mother not only taught her to respect herself but it also made her aware of the importance of family.

In an interview with Citizens magazine, the singer who has two sons, Egypt and Genesis with her producer husband Swizz Beatz said she began to respect herself after the birth of her first son.

“I think that was the biggest change for me. I know that might sound weird, but I feel like in a lot of ways I did, “‘ she said.

“I respected my time for the first time, and I respected the value of what that meant and what I was giving up when I spent it incorrectly or when I used it correctly.”

Alicia Keys says motherhood gave her life meaning

The No One hitmaker said her relationship with Swizzbeatz who she began dating in 2008 and will be celebrating their six year anniversary was extremely important to her as she tipped “staying connected” as one critical trait for a relationship to survive.

“I think the most important thing in any relationship is presence – being present and really choosing to make the time and take the time for the people that you love.

Not letting everything else be more important, or everyone else be more important, not letting a part of your job be more important or a part of your career be more important,” Keys stated.

Keys believes ‘presence’ is important in every relationship

Alicia Keys also talked about complacency in a relationship and how it creates dust in romance. “There’s no way in the world you’re in a relationship for seven years, 10 years, and you’re going to be the same person you were at the beginning.” she disclosed.

“In fact, that would be horrible… So you’re both growing and both evolving and learning more about yourself and learning more about each other, and I think when you give each other the opportunity to continue to know each other, that really strengthens it.”

She took the words right out of my mouth, we could actually be spirit sisters. Great advice.

Did Kim Kardashian’s Video Actually Prove That Taylor Swift Lied?

Featured Image

Kim Kardashian is the queen of sly after she and her husband made a recording of Kanye West talking to Taylor Swift over the phone regarding using her name in his track.

While Taylor agreed to the line where he claimed they had had sex, she never gave him permission to call her a bitch.

Kim must have been in a hurry to tell the world Taylor Swift lied about not knowing Kanye would call her a “bitch” in his song Famous, she used the wrong word ‘explosed’ instead of ‘exposed’ – ie #KimExplosedTaylorParty and no one noticed.

Kim Kardashian leaked Taylor Swift’s conversation with Kanye and in it there was no mention of her giving approval to be called a “bitch” and Kanye never even mentioned it.

Mrs Kardashian-West had already joked about waiting for National Sly Day to share the recording so she might as well just take the crown.

Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift begin feud

This is just another drag-Taylor-Swift down week as last week, it was #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty following her drama with ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris.

Swift’s party began after her rep leaked to the press that the Harris’s song This Is What We Came For featuring Rihanna was written by Swift under a pseudonym.

Taylor was dragged all over social media after Harris accused her of trying to bury him as she had buried Katy Perry when both singers were feuding.  Katy Perry who’s a rival of Swift even got one-laugh in over the issue as she tweeted “the truth will always be revealed.”

Taylor had issues with Katy Perry too after she accused the latter of stealing her dancers from under her.

Taylor “explosed” by Kim Kardashian

Being dragged by Kim Kardashian this week just seems like everyone is out for Swift which can be a very bad deal for her career as everyone she has had an issue with has made her out to be a liar.

In Taylor’s defense, going by the conversation with Kanye which was released by Kim on Snapchat, Taylor approved the line ““To all my southside n—-s that know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.”

There was no mention of him saying “I made that bitch famous” and that’s what Swift has been saying. She never approved of him calling her a bitch.

Quick question, why would anyone call you over the phone to seek your consent to be called a bitch in their song?

Kim Kardashian might be trying to do right by her man, but recording the conversation, now that’s just sneaky. Crown please.

Iheanacho Ready To Play Anywhere Under Guardiola

Featured Image

Iheanacho Ready To Play Anywhere – Nigerian wonderkid Kelechi Iheanacho has spoken of his adjustments as he gets set to play under new Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola.

“Guardiola is a good manager, everyone knows that,” Iheanacho told Sky Sports. “He’s bringing fresh thoughts and his own style. Everything is different and everyone is adapting to what he’s teaching us. We need to understand what he’s telling us and what he wants to bring to the team.”

Guardiola has commonly used only one striker in his previous teams, and Iheanacho revealed that he can play various positions asides being the top man.

“In my country, that’s where I started playing – I was a number 10,” he added. “For my club, I play more as a striker but I can play in both positions. I can play as a striker or I can play as a number 10. I can even play on the wing as well. I can play in any position.”

Nacho as he is fondly called also spoke with great respect for former manager Manuel Pellegrini.

“He gave me that chance to play in the first team and to come and show what I can do,” he explained. “I will always be grateful to him, anywhere he is and anywhere he goes.

“I wish him good luck and I pray that he gets a good offer anywhere he goes. He is a great manager and he will continue to be great.

“Last season was great for me and there were some good highlights. Scoring my [first] goal against Crystal Palace and playing against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu, those were good feelings.”

Dear Buhari, Nigerian Lives Also Matter – Inibehe Effiong

Featured Image

I wholeheartedly endorse the inauguration of a Special Military Task force by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday July 13, 2016 in Zamfara State to tackle the menace of cattle rustling which has made life and business hellish for herdsmen in the state.

This article was written by Inibehe Effiong. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

According to a report in the Daily Trust newspaper of Sunday July 10, 2016: “A similar operation is already ongoing along the Birnin Gwari axis of Kaduna State, which is also a den of murderous armed bandits that terrorise communities in Kaduna, Niger, Kebbi, Katsina and Zamfara states.”

The decision by the federal government to deploy hundreds of troops to combat armed bandits that have been terrorising members of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association and stealing their cattle became expedient following repeated calls by cattle breeders and residents of the affected communities on President Buhari to come to their aid. There is no doubt about fact that the mass stealing of cattle has a negative effect on the economy of Nigeria with the attendant increase in the cost of meats.

The President acted decisively and responsibly.

However, I find it rather curious and upsetting that a democratically elected president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria can take such drastic action just to safeguard the lives of cows (a non-human creature) while paying lip service to the continued annihilation of innocent farmers, community members and citizens by herdsmen, religious extremists, criminals and terrorists, for whatever reason, across the country

This is sickening to say the least.

Since the birth of this dispensation, innocent citizens have been gruesomely murdered by non-state actors and extra-judicially exterminated by security agencies with impunity. Save for its appreciable successes in the fight against Boko Haram in the North-Eastern part of the country, the Buhari-led federal government has failed to live to up its primary purpose and most sacred responsibility of protecting and securing the lives and properties of Nigerians as stipulated in Section 14 (2) (b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

The scandalous silence and shameful inaction of the president seems to have emboldened these murderous predators and implicitly legitimised their nefarious and atrocious actions against hapless citizens. How else can one explain the incessant killings that are going on in the country? From Benue, Enugu, Kano and other parts of the country, the stories have been that of killings upon killings; sorrow upon sorrow, and destruction upon destruction.

Currently, the land is literarily littered with the blood, tears and agonies of innocent citizens whose existence have been terminated or degraded by murderous and rampaging groups of people and individuals who have suddenly found unprecedented but debased courage and tenacity to kill at will; unchallenged and without consequences or proportionate reaction from the federal government and and its agencies.

In order to properly situate my views, a few worrisome examples will suffice.

The case of Mrs. Eunice Elisha

Barely one month after the murder of Mrs. Bridget Agbahime in Kano by a senseless mob for alleged “blasphemy”, a forty-two-year-old mother of seven and assistant pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Mrs. Eunice Elisha, was in the early hours of Saturday July 9, 2016 murdered by assailants, while preaching around Gbazango-West area of Kubwa in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The killing of Mrs. Eunice has continued to provoke outrage across the country.

Despite the alleged religious undertone associated with the murder which can potentially inflame the nation, President Buhari has not uttered a word in condemnation of the killing or in consolation of the family of the slain preacher, more than one week after the incident. Apart from the private visitation of the wife of the Vice President to the family of the deceased, the government has not exuded any semblance of concern in the matter. With due respect, the wife of the Vice President does not have any constitutional mandate to act in defence of the citizens of Nigeria. The fact that she (Mrs. Osinbajo) belongs to the same Christian denomination with the deceased makes her visit largely inconsequential in the circumstance. This is because the perception is that she only paid the deceased family a visit because of her membership of the Redeemed Christian Church.

Heaven would not have fallen if President Buhari had responded swiftly to the incident by directly calling the husband of the deceased to express his condolences; publicly condemning it and issuing a clear directive to the police to fish out the killers and bring them to justice.

That is what leaders in saner climes do in such cases. I shall buttress this in the course of this essay.

It should be noted that by virtue of Section 299 of the Constitution, the executive powers of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja (where the murder took place) are vested in the president in the same manner the executive powers of the states in the federation are vested in governors. The president, in the circumstance, is not just the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria but the “Chief Security Officer” of the FCT. However, the president is at liberty to delegate his duties as the administrator of the FCT to the minister of the FCT.

This is a case where an innocent woman, who is not only a citizen of Nigeria but a resident of Abuja, a territory over which the president is constitutionally mandated to administer, was viciously murdered without appropriate reaction from the president. Thus, Buhari’s silence and inaction is not only a profanity of his oath of office but also a tragic dereliction of his constitutional responsibilities as both as the administrator of the FCT and as the president of Nigeria. If Buhari can treat the murder of a resident of the FCT with kid gloves, is it the continuous killing(s) of Nigerians in other parts of the country that will elicit his response?

We need to pray for Nigeria and President Buhari.

The killing of Shi’ites in Zaria

Till date, the avoidable killings of about 347 Shi’ites in Zaria, Kaduna State on December 12- 14, 2015 following the clash between soldiers and members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) headed by Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, has not received appropriate response from the Commander-in-Chief. The federal government has refused to properly investigate the killings. No disciplinary actions has been taken against the lawless soldiers who murdered hundreds of Nigerians in unjustifiable circumstances.

I was one of those who condemned the Islamic Movement for blocking public highway and stalling the movement of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai. I have consistently expressed my disapproval for religious extremism and bigotry of any form. However, we cannot sacrifice the sanctity of human life in the guise of exterminating religious extremists. Nobody should be deprived of his or her life except in legally permissible circumstances.

The Nigerian Army has not justified the killing of the Shi’ites in Zaria on December 12-14, 2015. While the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria is still being detained without trial for about eight months, soldiers who committed the massacre are walking freely. This is unacceptable and President Buhari should be told so in clear language.

Endless Killings by Herdsmen

Herdsmen in Nigeria are presently operating like a state within a state. They kill, maim and destroy at will without provocation or at the slightest provocation. The recent massacre of innocent citizens in Benue State as reported by Channels Television on July 10, 2016 and corroborated by international news channel, Al Jazeera, in its report on Sunday July 17, 2016 deserves attention.

The report by Channels TV is reproduced in part below:

“Survivors and victims of herdsmen attacks in Logo and Ukum council areas in Benue State have been recounting how 81 persons were killed in the last two weeks. The traditional ruler of Logo, Chief Jimmy Meeme, who spoke to Channels Television on the invasion of rural communities said 70 persons were killed in six out of the 10 council wards in his domain. He blamed the sustained attacks on his people by the herdsmen on territorial occupation campaign. Eyewitnesses also claim that Turan, Mbagber, Yonov and Tombo communities in Logo were attacked on the same day while Varser in Ukum Local Government came under siege, leaving 53 persons dead…”

I agree that the lunacy and atrocities of the Nomadic (Fulani) herdsmen did not start on May 29, 2015 when Buhari came to power.

What is apparent is the fact that the herdsmen now kill and destroy not only with atavistic impunity, but with an unquestioned aura of legitimacy. The general perception today is that the herdsmen are emboldened because one of their kinsman, who is reportedly a Patron of the Miyetti Cattle Breeders Association, is now the president of Nigeria. This according to public opinion, has weakened the capacity of the Nigerian state and its institutions to deal appropriately with murderous herdsmen, thereby clothing them with immunity from the law.

This perception may be wrong. But Buhari has so far failed to disprove it. No democratic government will treat strong negative public perception with levity the way this government is doing with the issue of the herdsmen. Rather than bolster public trust in his administration by dealing decisively with herdsmen that are killing the citizens, Buhari has resorted to appeasement of the herdsmen by promoting and budgeting public funds for the establishment of grazing reserves across the country and the constitution of a Special Military Task Force to safeguard herdsmen and their cattles from rustlers. The government is now investing hundreds of millions of naira in the private business of some Nigerians. Despite the fact that public opinion, modernity and civilisation favours ranches, Buhari is insisting on acquiring lands for grazing reserves for herdsmen.

Two logical inferences that can be drawn from the president’s actions are as follows: First, Buhari values the lives and properties (cattles) of the herdsmen more than those of the victims of the herdsmen’s endsless attacks. Second, the president is demonstrating to everyone that Nigerians are not and cannot be treated equally.

Killing of Pro-Biafra Protesters

There have been numerous allegations and established cases of extra-judicial murders of pro-Biafra supporters in the South-Eastern part of the country. If the federal government is pretending about the obvious application of disproportionate and unjustifiable force by security agencies in their interventions against the separatist movement, there is one report that begs for urgent and independent probe.

On June 13, 2016, Premium Times published a shocking report of alleged massacre of pro-Biafra supporters who took part in events marking this year’s “Heroes Day” held on May 30 every year to celebrate the fallen heroes of Igbo ethnic nationality by troops from the Onitsha Army Barracks in Anambra State. The chilling report, based largely on an account given by an operative of the State Security Service (a whistle blower who took part in the operation that started on the night of May 29), narrates how the Cantonment Commander, Issah M. Abdullahi, a colonel, ordered the Joint Task Force (JTF) to clear the venue and roads of all “miscreants.”

“With this firm directive, the JTF, dominated by soldiers and led by Major C.O. Ibrahim of the Nigerian Military Police, stormed the streets and the event venue.” “The whistleblower said that while other members of the JTF were minimising the use of force, soldiers recklessly opened fire at crowds, shooting at close range, and “wasting people indiscriminately.”
Passersby and people in their homes and shops were not spared of stray bullets, the SSS operative said.

“He said it got to a point where injured pro-Biafra supporters, seeing the countless bodies of their colleagues on the ground, opened their arms wide, advanced towards the soldiers screaming that they too should be killed. Three military trucks were used to cart away heaps of dead bodies. According to the whistleblower, there are two cemeteries inside the Onitsha Army Barracks. Though reserved for fallen soldiers, victims of the massacre were buried in the cemetery close to Yahweh Church, inside the barracks..”

Amnesty International has condemned this alleged massacre of unarmed civilians. As usual, the Nigerian Army denied simplicity. The federal government has closed its eyes to this troubling report. President Buhari has not taken action on the matter.

Just as I am opposed to the criminal activities of the Niger Delta Avengers, I do not support the pro-Biafra agitation. As an ardent believer in the Nigerian project, it worries me that our nation is being deeply polarised along ethnic, regional and religious lines by the day. However, there are democratically and universally established methodologies and ways of resolving such crisis. Likewise, there are established rules of engagements that govern military interventions. President Buhari should cause an independent investigation to be carried out to unravel the truth of this alleged massacre. That will go a long way in putting to shame those who wrongly describe Nigeria as “a Zoo”.

The Ikorodu Killings

On Thursday June 23, 2016, no fewer than 50 persons were allegedly feared killed when militants invaded border town communities between Ogun and Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the areas affected were Elepete and Igbo-Olomu, border communities in Ikorodu North Local Government Area. According to The Nation newspaper report of Friday July 15, 2016 the rampaging militants again stormed Igbolomu in Ikorodu, a Lagos suburb, on Thursday July 14, 2016, kidnapping and killing residents. “It was gathered that the latest attack on Ikorodu allegedly began on Wednesday, with the hoodlums shooting everything in sight.”

The security agencies have failed to stop the militants from killing residents of the area. The president of the country in his characteristic reticence has not made a public statement about the Ikorodu killings.

Some persons have argued that the president should not be expected to publicly respond to every killing in the country. My reply is that those who canvass this view are making a mockery of democracy and the sanctity of human life. If the killing of one Nigerian is not enough to warrant a presidential reaction, how about the unabated mass killing of innocent citizens in different parts of the country? Why has Buhari not reacted and acted approximately?

What is the worth of a Nigerian life in the eyes of the president?

How do leaders in saner climes respond when their citizens are murdered in circumstances that provoke national mourning?

On Thursday July 7, 2016, five Dallas police officers in the United States of America were killed in an ambush by an angry shooter following the killing of two African-Americans by the police. The following day on Friday July 8, speaking from Warsaw, Poland after the first of a series of meetings with European Union and NATO allies, Obama said he had offered his condolences to the Dallas mayor overnight. Obama also cut short his four day trip in Europe and returned to Washington because of the incident.

On Wednesday July 13, Mr. Obama left his comfort in the White House and flew to Dallas with his wife, former president George W Bush, Senator Ted Cruz and other bipartisan leaders to attend a memorial service for the slain officers. While on Air Force One, Obama personally called the families of the two murdered African-Americans over the phone to express his condolences. Meanwhile, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch in her speech a day after the shooting indicated that federal investigators will equally intervene in the case.

What has President Buhari done over the recent massacre of 81 Nigerians by Fulani herdsmen in Benue State? How about the Nigeria Police Force? The Police in their characteristic and ever denying way said that ONLY 22 people were killed and that some suspects have been arrested. 22 lives is described as “only” in the 21st century Nigeria. What a national tragedy!

The police will always vow to “get to the root of the matter”, but we all know that they rarely get to the surface. Most times, all that we hear are reports of arrests. The rest is history.

Section 130 (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) makes Buhari the Head of State, the Chief Executive of the Federation and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Buhari needs to rise above every conceivable primordial interests, political partisanship and ethnic or religious bias and arrest the escalating culture of criminals killing innocent citizens at will in the country.

President Buhari cannot continue to keep and indulge the citizens in a guessing expedition on his true motives and policy direction. It is time for the president’s state of mind to be unveiled. The vagueness and imprecision of his much touted “body language” has to end now. Nigerians are tired of these mindless massacres.

Those who feel that they now have a licence to kill others because we are in a Buhari presidency must be made to understand that of the truth, this is a government of change. Buhari should understand that change is useless if the most fundamental human right as enshrined in Section 33 of the Nigerian Constitution – the right to life, is not guaranteed and protected by the state.

President Buhari who is fantastically good in sending condolence messages to other nations in their times of national grief should come to terms with the fact that Nigerian lives also matter.

Enough is enough.

A resurgent militant group in Niger Delta, Adaka Boro Avengers (ABA) has threatened that it would declare the riverine region an independent republic on August 1, 2016.

An online medium, Independentnig quoted the militant group has giving the Nigerian government an ultimatum on Sunday to withdraw all its personnel and establishment from the region before the date of its declaration of independence.

This is just as northerners and people from South West were also urged to vacate the Niger Delta territory.

The spokesman for ABA, General Edmos Ayayeibo, in a statement, ordered the Federal Government to use the three weeks’ notice to “move out all military personnel and all government agencies out of the Niger Delta,” and warned that “failure will lead to destruction of military barracks and personnel.”

The statement read: “We, the Adaka Boro Avengers and all the freedom fighters in the Niger Delta region have met and come to a conclusion that we are declaring the Niger Delta Republic three weeks from today July 18, 2016.

“So we are by this notice calling on the Nigerian government to move out all military personnel and all government agencies out of the Niger Delta. Failure will lead to destruction of military barracks and personnel.

“We are, also, by this notice calling on our fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters living in the northern parts of Nigeria to return home immediately.

“We are also warning northerners and westerners to leave the Niger Delta region immediately within three weeks from now, for their own good.

“If they refuse to heed to our warning, we will use so many as example in the Niger Delta region on the due date.

“We are telling the Nigerian government that enough is enough and we are taking our independence by force. We have our foreign backers, so we are not afraid of the Nigerian government but ready for total war.

“The inhuman treatment given to us by Nigerian government is enough. We can no longer withstand the suffering of our Niger Delta people. They should not take us for fools.”

Mila Kunis Wears no Makeup as She Covers Glamour Magazine

Mila Kunis is a member of the no make-up squad and she is  bare-faced and beautiful on the August 2016 cover of Glamour magazine.

The Bad Moms actress, 32, who’s pregnant and expecting her second child with husband Ashton Kutcher, posed both with and without cosmetics for the issue. While the front of the issue, dedicated to denim, features Kunis in full glam mode and wearing an embellished Canadian tuxedo, the back showcases the star’s natural, makeup-free radiance.

Magcover_GlamourUS_002_360nobs

Her interview cover story was very enlightening as she talked about her background, marriage and career. Here are some excerpts from the interview below;

Speaking on Make-up

“I don’t wear makeup. I don’t wash my hair every day. It’s not something that I associate with myself,” she told the mag. “I commend women who wake up 30, 40 minutes early to put on eyeliner. I think it’s beautiful. I’m just not that person. So to go to a shoot and have my makeup artist put on face cream and send me off to do a photo, I was like, ‘Well, this makes life easy.’ And you’re still protected. Nobody’s there to make you look bad.”

With that in mind, it surely comes as no surprise that the Black Swanactress also hates Photoshop. “There was a company that I did a photo shoot for once that manipulated the photo so much, I was like, ‘That’s not even me,’” she said. “Like, what’s the point? You wanted my name, and then you wanted the version of me that I’m not. I absolutely hate it.”

Speaking on Trump

Mila and her Family left Ukraine when she was young because they are Jewish and there was a rising anti-Semitic tide. Given your family history, did it strike a chord with you seeing presidential contenders like Donald Trump stoke anti-Mexican-immigrant and anti-Muslim-immigrant fears?

It’s even more than that. The whole Syrian-refugee thing—we came here on a religious-refugee visa, and I’m not going to blow this country up. I’m clearly paying taxes. I’m not taking anything away. So the fact that people look at what’s happening and are like, “Pfft, they’re going to blow sh-t up”? It saddens me how much fear we’ve instilled in ourselves. And going from there to the whole, “Hey, let’s build a wall between Los Angeles and Mexico”.… I don’t even have to answer that one. There’s no point. It’s a really great sound bite. And it got him far. Nobody should be mad at him; we did it to ourselves.

This is even as he claimed that seven Deputy Inspectors-General of Police, who retired alongside him, also made away with several cars belonging to the force.

Speaking to pressmen on Sunday in Abuja, the IGP revealed that in a bid to get the cars back – which included two official bullet-proof BMW 7 series cars – he wrote to Arase and his DIGs, adding that they had yet to return the vehicles.

The Punch quoted Idris as saying that a special investigation team was already in place to look into the records of police vehicle purchases in the last three years as well as how they were distributed.

He said, “If you look through the windows of my former office and from the report from my (Force) transport officer, you would see cars, but a week to the day I would resume, all these cars disappeared.

“So, what I am telling you is that I have signed a directive to my SIP (I have a special investigation panel, I set it up). It is going to investigate all the vehicle purchases, contributions to the police and the distribution of those vehicles in the last three years; we are going to look into that.

“When I took over, there was no vehicle, even the vehicle I would use. I discovered the last IG went away with 24 vehicles; the DIGs, some of them eight, some of them seven. The IG’s vehicles included two BMW 7 series, one armoured; and he left me with an old car.

“The last time I followed the President with it, he was asking me, ‘what are you doing with this old car’ because if you see the headlight, the thing has changed colour, which means they parked it and rains and everything had fallen on it, but the new ones that were bought, he (Arase) went with all of them; they are part of the 24.

“I wrote back to him and said, we have a policy that says when a policeman retires, if you are an IG, AIG, a CP, you are entitled to some vehicles; please, the extra, return it. Four vehicles are enough for an average human being, but what will you even do with four vehicles; but he took 24 vehicles, including two BMW cars.

“I wrote to him (Arase), I wrote to the DIGs.”

Reacting swiftly with a denial, Arase said he didn’t leave the force with any police vehicle, even as he described the allegations as a malicious propaganda to dent his image after serving the country faithfully for years.

He said, “What am I going to do with 24 cars? Do I want to open a car shop? This is a malicious accusation. There are ways of verifying issues rather than engaging in media propaganda.”

Kim Kardashian Leaks Kanye West’s Phone Call With Taylor Swift

Featured Image

Kanye West’s Phone Call With Taylor Swift – The lyrics of Kanye West’s Famous have caused a whole lot of trouble between himself and singer Taylor Swift.

In the song, Ye rapped about how he might still have sex with Taylor because he “made that b***h famous.” Taylor had slammed Kanye for the lyrics, but the rapper and his wife Kim Kardashian had claimed that Taylor had heard the lyrics before they were released.

Kim then took to Snapchat last night, posting a video of the phone call between Ye and Swift. Read the full transcript below!

Kanye West on the phone with Taylor Swift: “You still got the Nashville number?”

Taylor Swift: “I still have the Nashville umm area code, but I had to change it.”

Kanye West reads the “Famous” lyric: “To all my southside n—-s that know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex.”

Taylor Swift: “I’m like this close to overexposure.”

Kanye West: “Oh, well this I think this a really cool thing to have.”

Taylor Swift: “I know, I mean it’s like a compliment, kind of.”

Kanye West: “All I give a f–k about is you as a person and as a friend, I want things that make you feel good. ”

Taylor Swift: “That’s sweet.”

Kanye West: “I don’t want to do rap that makes people feel bad.”

Taylor Swift: “Umm, yeah I mean go with whatever line you think is better. It’s obviously very tongue in cheek either way. And I really appreciate you telling me about it, that’s really nice.”

Kanye West: “Oh yeah, I just had a responsibility to you as a friend you know, and I mean thanks for being so cool about it.”

Taylor Swift: “Aw thanks. Um yeah I really appreciate it, like the heads up is so nice. [inaudible] Even asking or seeing if I would be okay with it and I just really appreciate it. Like I would never expect you to like tell me about a line in one of your songs.”

Kanye West: “It’s pretty crazy.”

Taylor Swift: “And then the flowers that you sent me, I like Instagrammed a picture of them and it’s like the most Instagram likes I’ve ever gotten. It was like 2.7”

Kanye West: “Relationships are more important than punch lines, ya know?”

Taylor Swift: “I don’t think anyone would listen to that and be like that’s a real diss she must be crying. You’ve gotta tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way that you experienced it. You honestly didn’t know who I was before that. It doesn’t matter that I sold 7 million of that album before you did that which is what happened, you didn’t know who I was before that. It’s fine.”

Taylor Swift: “I might be in debt, but I can make these things happen. I have the ideas to do it and I create these things and concepts. I’m always going to respect you. I’m really glad that you have the respect to call me and tell me that as a friend about the song. It’s a really cool thing to do and a really good show of friendship so thank you.”

Kanye West: “Thank you, too.”

Taylor Swift: “And you know, if people ask me about it I think it would be great for me to be like, ‘Look, he called me and told me the line before it came out. Jokes on you guys, We’re fine.’
You guys want to call this a feud; you want to call this throwing shade but right after the song comes out I’m going to be on a Grammys red carpet and they’re going to ask me about it and I’ll be like, ‘He called me.’ It’s awesome that you’re so outspoken about this and be like, ‘Yeah, she does. It made her famous.’ Its more provocative to say ‘might still have sex…’ It’s doesn’t matter to me. There’s not like one [line] that hurts my feelings and one that doesn’t.”

‘You’re Not Corrupt When In Buhari’s Good Books’, Says Fayose

Featured Image

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has accused President Muhammadu Buhari of double standard in his crusade to eradicate corruption in Nigeria, urging him to stop shielding members of his government from probe.

Speaking on Sunday, in a statement issued and signed by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Fayose wondered why Abdul rahman Dambazau, minister of interior, and Tukur Buratai, chief of army staff, were not listed among the officers to be probed.

He said it is a show of sheer hypocrisy and nepotism for anyone to accept that fraud could have been perpetrated on procurement and award of contracts in an establishment without the involvement of the director of procurement.

“It is now obvious to the entire world that anyone that is in President Buhari’s good books can never be adjudged as corrupt even if such a person is caught looting the entire money in Nigeria’s treasury,” Fayose said.

“There are many petitions relating to the defence from 2007 that are been discarded, the question is why? There are several petitions against APC leaders that are not being looked into, the question is why? Fighting corruption and targeting only opponents of the president is in itself corruption.

“Buhari’s’ Minister of Interior, Major General Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.) was Chief of Army Staff between 2008 and 2010 and the current Chief Of Army Staff, Major General Tukur Buratai served as Director of Procurements, Defence Headquarters, from 2012 till May 2015.

“It is a fact that the committee in its terms of reference said it queried all procurement from 2007 to 2015. Even the Press Release issued was  titled; ‘Third Interim Report of the Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement from 2007 to 2015.’

“First paragraph of the committee report also indicated that it used 2007-2015 as reference, stating that the committee ‘analysed procurement contracts awarded by or for the Nigerian Army between 2007 and 2015.’

“Questions Nigerians must now begin to ask President Buhari and his government are; where is the report of Presidential Committee on Audit of Defence Equipment Procurement relating to 2007 to 2010? Who doctored the committee report and why?
