The highly successful mobile game ‘Candy Crush’ is being made into a television game show courtesy of Lionsgate, CBS and mobile gaming company King.

“We are huge fans of ‘Candy Crush’ and, like so many others, we know the ‘rush’ of advancing to the next level of the game,”

“We’re excited to work with Lionsgate and King to adapt one of the world’s most popular and entertaining game franchises for television and make it available to its massive, passionate fan base who can watch and play along at home.” CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller said.

The game was launched in 2012 and was an immediate hit within the mobile phone gaming community, recently reaching 1 trillion games played. It’s still played heavily as according to King database, there were 18 billion rounds played around the world just last month.

The show would be produced by Matt Kunitz, who’s previous work includes shows like Wipeout and Fear Factor; Russell Binder (Striker Entertainment), Nicki Sheard (King), and Candy Crush Saga creator Sebastian Knutsson.

“The Candy Crush franchise lends itself perfectly to the kind of larger-than-life, physical game shows that I love to produce and CBS is the perfect home for it,” Matt Kunitz said. “As a Candy Crush Saga player myself, I am excited to amp up the action and visuals in our huge Candy Crush Arena.”

No release date for the show has been announced yet.

Over 100 Chibok Girls ‘Unwilling To Leave Boko Haram’

Featured Image

There are strong indications that over 100 of the schoolgirls abducted by militants of Boko Haram sect from Chibok may be unwilling to leave their Islamic extremist captors.

114 Chibok Girls Feared Dead, Married Off Or Radicalised As Negotiations Continue

This is just as the federal government of Nigeria embarks on negotiations that would see the release of another 83 of the Chibok schoolgirls taken in a mass abduction by Boko Haram in 2014.

Speaking to the Associated Press, Pogu Bitrus, the chairman of the Chibok Development Association revealed that the unwilling girls may have been radicalised by Boko Haram, or are ashamed to return home because they were forced to marry and have babies for the extremists.

Boko Haram Releases 21 Chibok Girls To Nigerian Gov’t

Mr Bitrus urged the Nigerian government to ensure that the 21 ‘just released’ Chibok girls be educated abroad, because of the likelihood of stigmatisation within communities in the country.

“All those who escaped on their own have left Chibok because, even though they were held only a few hours, they were labelled “Boko Haram wives” and taunted,” he said.

“We would prefer that they are taken away from the community and this country because the stigmatisation is going to affect them for the rest of their lives,” he said, adding that, “Even someone believed to have been abused by Boko Haram would be seen in a bad light.”

Speaking in the same vein, Mausi Segun, a researcher in Nigeria for Human Rights Watch, said the negative reaction of conservative communities would mean it was unlikely the released women would be able to return to Chibok.

“Any sign that there has been sexual contact with any man, and these men are Boko Haram, will cause a backlash. The likelihood they will return home is slim,” Segun said.

Chibok is a small and conservative Christian enclave in mainly Muslim northern Nigeria, where many parents are involved in translating the Bible into local languages and belong to the Nigerian branch of the Elgin, Illinois-based Church of the Brethren.

“However, the wounded soldiers have been evacuated and receiving treatment, while efforts are ongoing in search of those missing and clear the Boko Haram terrorists at the general area,” Usman added.

Mauro Icardi To Be Offered Inter Milan Escape Route By Paris Saint-Germain

Featured Image

Paris Saint-Germain hope to take advantage of Mauro Icardi’s situation at Inter Milan by signing the Argentine international in January, reports Le 10 Sport in France.

The Inter captain has been involved in heated exchanges with the club’s infamous ‘Curva Nord’ ultra fans since the release of his autobiography – Sempre Avanti – in which he criticised their behaviour.

He has since taken steps to cool the on-going feud between himself and supporters, but French media claim PSG want to offer him an escape route.

Arsenal, who were also tracking the Argentina international in the summer, have been alerted by the news.

But, according to Le10 Sport, PSG are confident that they will sneak in ahead of the Gunners and sign Icardi instead.

The French champions are big fans of the 23-year-old and are ready to offer him an escape route out of his San Siro nightmare.

Court Fires 2 PDP Federal Lawmakers

Featured Image

A Federal High Court in Abuja Division on Monday sacked two members of the House of Representatives from Enugu State for alleged wrongful emergence as ‘flag bearers’ of the  Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 general elections.

The affected lawmakers are Honourable Stella Ngwu representing Igbo-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency and Honourable Dennis Agbo representing Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency.

Two other members of the party, Gabriel Okafor and Chijioke Ugwu, had approached the court after PDP conducted its primaries in December 2014, ahead of the 2015 general elections.

On Monday, the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang held that the emergence of Ngwu and Agbo as the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in December 2014 was unlawful.

He thereafter ordered the ‘sacked’ lawmakers to refund all monies they had collected by way of salaries and allowances since they took the seats in the House to the coffers of the National Assembly of Nigeria forthwith.

The court also declared Dr. Gabriel A. Okafor as the rightful winner of Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency primary election, while Honourable Chijioke H. Ugwu was ruled to have won the Egbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency of Enugu State in 2014.

Justice Abang ordered the INEC to immediately issue certificates of return to Messrs. Okafor and Ugwu respectively.

Sergi Darder :I Never Had Interest From Paris Saint-Germain

Featured Image

Lyon midfielder Sergi Darder has revealed Paris Saint-Germain never made an attempt to sign him two summers ago.

The former Malaga star has been a big hit in Ligue 1, and although he says he discussed a move to PSG with his agent before opting for Lyon, he insists the interest was never concrete.

“We spoke about PSG, because it’s an interesting club, but I never had an offer from PSG,” he told Goal.

“I knew that Porto and Inter were interested.”

Darder signed for Lyon last summer and is content with the decision he made, feeling that his fortunes turned after he scored a terrific winning goal against Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 last season.

“I’m glad to be here. It’s true that the first six months were difficult, but my goal in the victory over PSG changed things in terms of confidence that my teammates, my coach and the fans have in me,” he said.

“Everything changed.”

“To play in Champions League is one of the reasons I came to Lyon. It’s a step up for me. I’m only 22 and it’s great to play this kind of game at my age,” he explained.

“It’s a game that we have anticipated for two months now. I think it’s the biggest Champions League game for us but also the most difficult. We need to win, but if we don’t there are three games to play afterwards.”

Ronaldo Wants Philippe Coutinho At Real Madrid

Featured Image

Former Real Madrid and Brazil striker Ronaldo would like to see Philippe Coutinho leave Liverpool for the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo spent five seasons in the Spanish capital, scoring 104 goals in 177 appearances for Real and winning two La Liga titles.

“I would love to see Coutinho at Real Madrid,” Ronaldo told Spanish radio station Onda Cero.

“Spanish football is, without doubt, the best in history. It has always bought the best [players] and produced the most beautiful football.”

Ronaldo also had his say on a current Real Madrid forward, claiming namesake Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world.

Asked about the Portuguese, Lionel Messi and Neymar, Ronaldo said: ‘They are three great players.

‘I would also include Luis Suarez as he is playing very well. This is the most common question in all interviews – I don’t know if it is just for me, or for everyone, but when we ask this question we forget that they are three great players.

‘It is so difficult to choose just one as the best. They are very, very good. At the moment I will choose Cristiano as he is playing for Real Madrid, but we cannot forget how good Messi and Neymar are, and we must respect these players for the entertainment they bring us.’

The Unaired Part Of Mrs Buhari’s Interview, By Jaafar Jaafar

The Unaired Part Of Mrs Buhari’s Interview, By Jaafar Jaafar

As the heat of the intense pressure mounted on the BBC to stop the airing of the remaining part of the controversial Aisha Buhari interview a few days ago, I had the privilege of listening to the interview before it was fully aired.

This piece was written by Jaafar Jaafar. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

My good friend, the Head of the Abuja bureau of the BBC, Naziru Mikailu, invited me to his office to comment on the interview, and directed that it be played to me before the recording of my comment.

Listening to the president’s wife passionately expressing herself on how her husband runs Nigeria left me cringing. Reading between the lines, I realised Mrs. Buhari was sending an SOS to Nigerians to save her bewitched, servile husband from the clutches of the Aso Rock witches, popularly known as the “Aso cabal”.

Read Full Text Of Aisha Buhari’s Interview With BBC That Got Buhari, Everybody Talking

The Buhari I knew before the last presidential election was not the obtuse person we have today as president. The Buhari I promoted during the campaign had no nepotistic, despotic or tele-guided tendencies. The Buhari I voted for was not this pliable. Forgive me if my knowledge of him was superficial.

Aisha Buhari might have pitched the nation a curve ball, but her interview is actually a deafening echo of what we’ve been saying for ages about her husband. When I first raised alarm on the dangers of the influence of the numero uno of the cabal, Mamman Daura, on the Buhari administration barely three weeks after the president took the oath of office, I received all manners of insults and invectives. Today a lot of my predictions have come to reality.

But if actually the Mamman Daura cabal is the one running this country, then it appears to be a very unintelligent lot whose mastery does not go beyond the art of nepotism and crafts of plagiarism.

This cabal has kept both the nation and the president under spell, leaving the economy to slide into recession, our currency to crash beyond salvation and impunity to reign supreme. This cabal has suffocated a mega political party that Nigerians from all regions laboured and united to build.

It always saddens me to realise that our president has been turned into a puppet, managed by some half-witted puppeteers, who are mainly adept at turning his feet toward Europe, America and Asia; stretching his hand in perpetuation of nepotism or opening his mouth to goof.

From the appointment of ministers to heads of agencies, there are either portfolio misplacements or the elevation of disturbing cronyism and incompetence by this cabal, which started from the outset of the present administration. This same cabal gave plum appointments to progenies of the famous Kaduna mafia members, some of who even served the immediate-past administration or openly campaigned for the PDP.

I May Not Support You In 2019 Election – Aisha Warns Her Husband, Buhari

A leading member of the cabal, who is the present Chief of Staff to the president, Abba Kyari, was appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan as a member of the Ribadu-led Petroleum Revenue Task Force in 2012. A year earlier, Kyari had turned down Buhari’s offer to serve as the secretary of one of the CPC presidential campaign committees – perhaps because Buhari had little chance of winning.

Take the case of the Sokoto ministerial nominee, for instance. Any loyal party man will not be happy to see the daughter of Alhaji Abubakar Alhaji, the late Kaduna mafia member, Aisha Abubakar, appointed minister from Sokoto State. Aisha openly campaigned for the PDP governorship candidate in Sokoto, and her brother, Aminu Abubakar Alhaji, who unsuccessfully vied for the Tambuwal/Kebbe Federal Constituency ticket on the platform of PDP.

Again, no one who wishes the APC well will be happy to see Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, the daughter of another Kaduna mafia member, Yahaya Hamza, appointed minister from Kaduna State. Zainab headed NEITI under Jonathan and contributed to the PDP during election.

Any card carrying member of the APC will be saddened to see Mohammed Bello, the son of Mamman Daura’s friend, Musa Bello, appointed minister from Adamawa State. Mohammed Bello headed the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria under Jonathan but was given the plum FCT ministry by the Aso cabal. I believe if he had gone against PDP, he would have been removed immediately after Jonathan lost the election.

But consider how the cabal dumped loyal party members in Enugu like Osita Okechukwu to appoint Geoffrey Enyeama, who had hitherto never met Buhari nor worked for the APC, as minister of Foreign Affairs.

Or, will any APC politician be happy with Senator Ita Enang, a top Jonathan campaigner, as Senior Special Assistant to the president on the National Assembly (Senate), or Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, also a top Jonathan campaigner, as chairman of the almighty Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), while loyal party men like Senator Magnus Abe were kicked backstage. Senator Abe was even shot by the police during the election in Rivers.

Aisha Buhari might have been wondering where loyal Buhari campaigners were, like Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora, Faruq Adamu Aliyu, Dele Alake, Barrister Ismail Ahmed, Architect Waziri Bulama, Yusuf Tuga, Yakubu Lame, Dr. Hassan Lawan, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Umaru Dembo, Ubale Hashim, Umar Dangiwa, among others.

The president’s wife and party supporters will also be incensed to see appointees of the past government still heading a number of agencies and departments. The cabal should know that party men are piqued that the 12 agencies of the Federal Ministry of Water Resources are still headed by the appointees of the past government, as well as a minister, Engr. Sulaiman Adamu, appointed not for his political contributions to the success of Buhari, but due to close family ties.

Now take a cursory look at the re-appointment of Umaru Ibrahim as managing director of NDIC. Ibrahim was appointed in December 2010 by Jonathan but was reappointed by Buhari to serve another five years, as if there are no competent persons for such within the party fold. One still wonders why the Director-General of PenCom, Mrs Chinelo Anohu-Amazu, is retained despite the fact that her appointment was initially done in violation of the law. Does Buhari think his party is happy that Malam Sani Sidi, a protege of former Vice President Namadi Sambo, is still the head of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA)?

Whoever wishes the president and APC well must feel strongly about this. As someone who stood by her husband during the election, Aisha Buhari has the right to complain when certain forces take over her husband or when things go wrong in the party. I still believe she loves her husband more than those who are insulting or mocking her. She is still the best authority on the president’s mental and socio-physical state.

One basic fact a lot of fanatical supporters of Buhari forget is that he rode on the saddle of a political party to power. The fortunes of the party are diminishing and those who laboured to build the party and ensured the emergence of Buhari as candidate have been relegated, while political ambulance chasers take the centre stage. APC’s growth is inorganic, and so needs some therapy to strengthen it’s fragility.

‘My Wife Belongs To My Kitchen’ – Buhari Reacts To Aisha’s ‘Controversial’ BBC Interview

There is concern about the political future of Buhari and APC. As it stands today, barring any miracle, Buhari could either be the first incumbent Nigerian president to lose a party ticket at the primaries or the second president to lose re-election in Nigeria’s political history.

Jaafar Jaafar, a public affairs analyst and media practitioner, writes from Abuja.

Overweight Saido Berahino Put On Special Training Regime By West Brom

Featured Image

Saido Berahino has been put on a special training regime by West Bromwich Albion following concerns about his weight.

The 23-year-old striker was left out of Albion’s squad for the 1-1 draw at home to Spurs on Saturday.

Berahino is believed to have been several pounds overweight after tests two weeks ago during the international break, and has now been put on a personal fitness programme.

Berahino was the subject of bids from Stoke City in the most recent window but remained at the Hawthorns, and has made only three starts for the club so far this term.

Berahino has struggled with weight issues over the past two seasons, especially after he fell out with former chairman Jeremy Peace over his failed transfer to Tottenham on September 1 2015.

It is not clear whether the England forward will return to the bench for West Brom’s next game against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

Justice Ademola Withdraws From Presiding Over Dasuki’s Trial

Featured Image

Justice Adeniyi Ademola, a judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, has on Tuesday withdrawn from presiding over the trial of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

READ ALSO: DSS Arrested Me For Granting Bail To Dasuki, Kanu – Justice Ademola

The embattled judge, who was one of those arrested by operatives of the State Security Service (SSS), said he would no longer preside over the criminal charge the Federal Government preferred against the detained Dasuki, in the wake of allegations that he obtained bribe from the ex-NSA.

He was among the seven judges detained between October 8 and 9 after the SSS “invaded” and thoroughly searched his apartment – and alleged the discovery of hundreds of thousands in dollars in addition to documents linking them to very expensive real estates.

READ ALSO: SSS Releases All Detained Judges On Self Recognition

Barely days after the invasion, Ademola had written the Chief Justice of Nigeria, saying he was attacked unjustly.

He cited his previous rulings on Mr. Dasuki during which he granted him bail and then the SSS failed to obey the order.

The embattled judge also mentioned his previous decisions on a case involving a leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, as reasons for his arrest.

According to him, the reason for his withdrawal is the current allegations of corruption levelled against him.

“I am sure you are conversant with what is going on the last seven days. One of the allegations being made against me is that I received some money from Sambo Dasuki. This is the allegation of the SSS.

“I thought I should tell the counsel what is being said.”

“Before I announce my decision, let me ask the defendant (Dasuki) some questions,” Mr. Ademola said.

Before making his decision known, Justice Ademola interviewed Colonel Sambo Dasuki asking him to tell the whole world if he had known him prior to the case and if he had given him any money directly or through his lawyers to which the former NSA replied in the negative.

He then looked at Dasuki and asked: “Do you know me at all or have come in contact with me?

“No I don’t know you my Lord” Dasuki responded.

“Did you at any time give me money in respect of the on going trial? “No, my Lord, I didn’t give you any money”, Dasuki replied Ademola

“Did you send any money to me; to any member of my family; or through any counsel?”, the Judge further queried.

“No, my Lord, except maybe the DSS agents who are reporting the allegation did”, a visibly displeased Dasuki answered.

Justice Ademola thereafter went ahead to announce that he was transferring the file to the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court “for a reassignment to another judge having regards to the allegations against this court by the complainant, that is the DSS.”

PHOTOS: Bobrisky’s 1st Disciple, Seun The Diva, Is Not After His Throne

Nigerian social media has been set aflames by a cross-dresser, Idris ‘Bobrisky’ Okuneye.

With his extremely bleached skin, funny accent and numerous stories of his ‘bae’, Bobrisky amassed a ton of fans on social media. Many were not fans, but just curious to see what he was up to.

With his ever growing fame, it was expected that sooner or later, many more people would join the trend and publicly come out as cross dressers or whatever Bobrisky actually is.

One of the very first of them was Olaitan Olaide, who goes by Seun The Diva. When he came out back in September, he praised Bobrisky for giving him the confidence to be able to come out and live his real life.

He however doesn’t want to be Nigeria’s foremost cross-dresser, and he’s leaving that position for Bobrisky. Seun said today on social media: “I have no competition with any body. Emirates Airline To Suspend Operations In Nigeria

Featured Image

Sources within the Nigerian Aviation Industry have confirmed that Dubai-based airline, Emirates airline will suspend its Nigerian operations from October 22.

The suspension is reportedly due to irregularities in the country’s foreign currency repatriation policy with stakeholders in the aviation sector complaining about the inability of foreign airlines to get the dollar equivalent of the money and noted that if nothing is done to resolve the problem, Emirate will be the next to suspend its operation in Nigeria.

Foreign airlines lost as much as N64b on account of repatriating $800 million stuck in the economy in the last one year, but released after the recent devaluation of the naira. Following the devaluation, the accumulated $800million from airlines’ sales of tickets when the exchange rate was still at N197 to $1, was taken out of the country at the new rate of N320 to $1. Consequently, a substantial amount was lost.

The stakeholders called on the federal government to intervene in this problem as it would send a wrong signal to the world if foreign airlines keep suspending operations in Nigeria. Some of Nigeria’s local carriers, Aero Contractor and First Nation have already suspended operations as some stakeholders push for yet another bailout for the troubled aviation sector.

Emirates Airline is a Dubai-based airline, United Arab Emirates and a subsidiary of the Emirates Group, which is wholly owned by the government of Dubai’s Investment Corporation of Dubai.

Former Arsenal Defender Sol Campbell Hints At First Managerial Job

Featured Image

Sol Campbell has said he expects to be appointed to his first job in management shortly.

The former Arsenal and Tottenham defender revealed he is in “active negotiations”, with a job in Europe likely.

Speaking to The Times, he said: “I am in active negotiations and we will see how things pan out over the next two or three weeks.

“I am waiting for someone to come back to me. I will have to see the proposal. I am probably recognized more in Europe than my own country.

“Players and managers understand and appreciate me more. You can’t be king in your own country. Sometimes you have to go away to come back.”

The ex- Arsenal and Tottenham centre-back retired as a player in 2012 and had looked to pursue a career in politics, having run for the Conservative Party nomination for the 2016 London Mayoral election, but failed to make their four-strong shortlist.

During his career as a player Campbell earned 73 England caps, won the Premier League twice, three FA Cups and a League Cup.

Sol Campbell is now setting similarly lofty goals ahead of his tilt in the dugout.

“I have a five or six-year plan and eventually I will get a top club,” he said.

“Everyone has their own destiny. Mine is to lead a top team in Europe and then, who knows, England. I am ready for it, for all the challenges. I was like that as a player; head down, committed.”

According to the statement, universities have been directed to begin the process of winding down sub-degree diplomas.

It added: “A comprehensive review of the entire university curricula – the Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards and ranking of Nigerian universities – has been scheduled for 2017.

“Two of the cardinal activities of the commission – Accreditation of Programmes and Resource Verification, will now take place only twice and thrice a year, respectively.

“May and November are for Accreditation while March, July and December are for Resource Verification.’’

NUC also warned that any university that failed to present its programmes for accreditation promptly without satisfactory reasons, given well in advance, would be denied same and the relevant agencies (JAMB and NYSC) duly notified.

“The accreditation of part-time programmes would ensure that they are of the same quality as the full-time programmes, thereby restoring public confidence in them,” it said.

Dortmund’s Injury Woes Giving Tuchel Headache

Featured Image

Borussia Dortmund manager, Thomas Tuchel is facing selection headache due to the amount of injuries in his side ahead of their match against Sporting CP.

Tuesday’s trip to Lisbon will see Dortmund without captain Marcel Schmelzer (abductor), Neven Subotic (rib), Sokratis Papastathopoulos (leg), Andre Schurrle (back), Lukasz Piszczek (knee), Raphael Guerreiro (thigh), Erik Durm (knee), Sven Bender (ankle), Adrian Ramos, Marco Reus and Gonzalo Castro (all groin).

And Dortmund’s injury crisis has Tuchel stunned.

“We are not rubbing our eyes [in surprise], we are very concerned with the situation and the frequency and the number of injuries which we have had recently,” Tuchel said.

“Despite that there isn’t any one reason for them, each injury has to be seen separately, each one is individual and has its own background but still however in this frequency and in this number, it is very unusual, we have never experienced this.”

Dortmund top Group F with four points, one clear of Sporting heading into matchday three.

Tuchel’s Dortmund played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with Real Madrid last time out, while Sporting accounted for Legia Warsaw 2-0.

“Sporting are a very complete team,” Tuchel said. “They are strong technically, robust defensively and with Bas Dost up front, dangerous in attack. They have a very experienced coach and team, and players who are good on the ball like Gelson Martins.

“I saw Sporting play against Real Madrid [who won 2-1], when they were unlucky and lost so late. They have our complete respect. The situation with our injuries is what it is and each individual injury has its own story, but I have strong players at my disposal and I am confident in the team I will put out tomorrow.”

The continuous buoyancy recorded by the local currency on the unofficial segment of the market in the past few days, was once more credited to the improved dollar liquidity to the Bureau De Change (BDC) arm of the market.

It would be recalled, last month, the nation’s currency had weakened to a record low of 495 per dollar on the black market.

This prompted the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to order the approval of dollar sale to Bureau De Change operators.

The Apex Bank then gave approvals to First Bank of Nigeria Limited and Travelex, a global foreign exchange company, to commence sale of the greenback to the BDC operators.

Speaking on the development, the President of the Association of Bureau De Change of Nigeria (ABCON), Alhaji Aminu Gwadabe welcomed the move by the central bank, saying it would help strengthen the naira and improve dollar liquidity in the market.

“If you check, since Travelex started selling to BDCs, speculation has reduced in the market and the naira is on the path of recover,” Gwadabe had said.
