It’s been disclosed that it was Kanye West’s personal doctor that made the 911 call on Monday resulting in the rapper’s hospitalisation.
Dr. Michael Farzam had told police that his patient “Jim Jones” (referring to Kanye West) was suffering from temporary psychosis as a result of lack of sleep and dehydration. The doctor also said that his 39-year-old patient had tried to assault a staffer at his gym, according to the police report.
Although “Jones” wasn’t violent, the doctor had told police, he might become violent when help arrived. West was reportedly handcuffed to a stretcher for transport, which is apparently a part of the standard procedure during a psychiatric hold.
The rapper, who had abruptly canceled the rest of his Saint Pablo Tour was taken to UCLA Medical Center on Monday afternoon.
Kanye “is exhausted and currently dealing with sleep deprivation,” an unnamed source told reporters. “He went to the hospital at will under the advice of his physician.”

The Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Ipalibo Banigo , has called on Police to step up investigation into the alleged gang rape of a 15-year-old girl.
Dr. Banigo made the call in Port Harcourt on Tuesday while reacting to reports that the Police had released the suspects. It was gathered that the girl, Chidera Amajor was gang-raped by a group of five men at Abirima Community in Oyigbo Local Government Area.
In a statement at Government House, Port Harcourt, She said there was the urgent need for the police to launch full-scale investigation into the matter in order to bring perpetrators of the inhuman act to justice to serve as deterrent to others. The deputy governor expressed her worry over the release of the suspects by the police, stressing that the action was counterproductive as it would encourage other rapists.
She called for the enforcement of relevant laws of the land against rapists by the relevant agencies of government as a conscious effort to sanitize the society of rape-related cases.
According to reports, the victim was forced to ingest an overdose of an analgesic known as Tramadol by the suspects before they raped her. The Deputy Governor enjoined the Police to promptly re-arrest the suspects and commence thorough investigation into the matter.
She said, “Rape is an inhuman act, it is sinful; it is capable of leading to several illnesses and even death of the victim. A full scale investigation into the matter is expected in order to bring the perpetrators of the inhuman act to justice.”
Dr. Banigo added that it was wrong for suspects of such a crime to be released by the Police without investigation. “Such action is counterproductive; it will encourage rapists to be on the rampage in the state. We all need to do things that will discourage crime.” She said.
She also called on non-governmental agencies (NGOs) and civil society organisations to speak out and join forces with government towards reducing the high incidence of rape cases in the society
Zahra Buhari, one of the daughters of President Muhammadu Buhari, will be getting married to Ahmed Indimi, the son of a prominent oil tycoon and billionaire, Mohammed Indimi.
The wedding, according to Daily Trust, is slated for 2nd of December 2016 and to be held in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
It was learnt that her matrimonial introduction was done on Friday, November 18, 2016.
It was also gathered that the President would prefer a low-key celebration given to his austere nature and antipathy towards excessive lavishness.
Ahmed, who attended Global International College in Lagos for his degree foundation program, completed his Degree in Information Technology at the American InterContinental University, in Atlanta, USA.
He then proceeded to complete an MBA in Internet Security at the same Institution where he served as the treasurer of the Student Union Government at the London Campus.
He is the head of Crude Oil marketing in his father’s company.
Ahmed’s father, Mohammed Indimi, is said to be the younger brother of the wife of Ibrahim Babaginda, a former head of state.
His wife-to-be, Zahra is a graduate of micro biology from the University of Surrey in England and also the ambassador for the SCAF – a foundation set on the initiative to arrest and minimize the case of sickle cell around the country.
Beautiful Nubia, the alternative artiste and folk hero returns for his twelfth studio merry go round with 2016’s Taabaku, an engaging rich tapestry of sounds that mines the author’s roots in Apala, folklore, Jazz and storytelling.
Sung in (almost) equal parts Yoruba and English, Taabaku which Beautiful Nubia recorded with his long time Roots Renaissance band plays at times like a cautionary tale, an admonition to stay on the straight and narrow side of life no matter what comes.
Taabaku by Beautiful Nubia and the Roots Renaissance Band comes at you gently and tentatively, shorn of the catchy melodies that characterised last year’s Soundbender. The music is full of life, lush, swirls and encircles even the most unconvinced of listeners, drawing a silent surrender at the end of the record’s playing time.
Beautiful Nubia’s voice serves his kind of music suitably. His influences are steeped in poetry, tradition and oral methods of communicating. As such, he tries for spoken word at some moments and then breaks out vocally, stretching his soft baritone the next, before retreating into the comfort of the instrumentals from his tightly knit band.
The instrumentation on opening number, Eda plays for a full minute before Beautiful Nubia and his back up dancers deign to speak any words and even then, the song only has a brief refrain going for it in terms of vocal structure. It doesn’t matter, Eda is still as interesting as anything Beautiful Nubia has put out in the past. The title track takes a similar tack but this time goes all the way into soothing Afro jazz territory
Serene and deeply lyrical, Taabaku gets into your skin and crawls beneath. Not all love songs have to be silly as Beautiful Nubia proves on Lady of the Valley that a love song can be both relatable and meaningful. Part love letter, part travelogue, Lady of the Valley breathes with atmosphere, recalling a serene Moroccan holiday.
Life lessons are there to be learned on Colour of All Days, and timely too, as the whole world grapples with the potential nature of a Trump presidency in America. Mr Nubia uses the oral storytelling structure to preach about racial (in)equality and sings with a lot of power in his choice of words, Love is the colour of all days/all other colours are for occasions/somewhere just beyond the skin, everyone is the same. Bobbi’sway urges patience and the need to do the right thing never minding how appealing shortcuts may appear.
A great portion of the songs are done in folksy Yoruba dialects but it matters little as Taabaku easily crosses the language barrier and opens itself to multiple interpretations. Deceptively stark and rich in its modesty, a lot of effort and mastery of craft has been put into making this record. Beautiful Nubia’s genius lies in making it all seem effortless, like it all came together on a lazy, breezy evening.
For the newcomers, now is as good a time as any to be initiated into the immersive sounds of Beautiful Nubia and the Roots Renaissance Band. For the cult members, Taabaku represents another wondrous slice of real life.
Artist: Beautiful Nubia and the Roots Renaissance Band
Man Utd forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he is eyeing the possibility of a move to the the US.
“I can see myself conquering the US, just as I have (conquered) Europe,” the 35-year-old Swede told daily newspaper Aftonbladet.
“People stay in one place throughout their entire career, but I have travelled around like Napoleon in Europe and conquered every country I’ve arrived in.
“So maybe I could cross the Atlantic and conquer the US as well.”
Ibrahimovic said the Manchester United team he has joined is not as strong as PSG but the decision for him to switch to the Premier League was “an easy one” when Mourinho came calling.
“The team I signed for this summer is not as strong as the one I left, but when Mourinho called the decision was easy. When he calls I have no problem coming, all we had to decide was when I was to be presented as Man U player.
The rest, the financial deal, was not the difficult part,” he explained.
“It was about the challenge really, and I will never say no to a challenge,” added Ibrahimovic. “This is what I wanted; coming to one of the world’s biggest clubs, that has had troubles and not won much of late, and try the Premier League. That is the challenge.”
The Swede told his interviewer about the well-publicised struggles Mourinho’s team had suffered at the start of this season. “We started off well with a few wins in a row,” said Ibrahimovic. “Then we started losing, and we lost playing badly, by several goals. We had a week when we lost three games, that has never happened to me in 15 years.
“There were a few games where I didn’t score and missed too many chances, but these things happen. As long as I’m there and create the chances and get the ball the goals will come.”
On the specific question of whether United could challenge for the title, he said: “I hope so, I believe in what we do. I know the capacity of this team, but it’s still a long way to go. With a bit of luck we should be able to do it.”
Barcelona ran their eye over Italy international Mattia De Sciglio during Sunday’s Milan derby, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Barca are looking for a new right back to replace Aleix Vidal, who is expected to leave the Nou Camp in January, and Milan’s De Sciglio is on their radar.
Robert Fernandez, the club’s sporting director, travelled to San Siro on the weekend to watch the 24-year-old in action during the 2-2 draw.
The Italy international is under contract with the Rossoneri until June 2018.
Ignacio Abate has also been linked to Barcelona because of his experience, the 30-year-oldl Milan captain seen as the kind of veteran who would help the Catalans. It isn’t a coincidence that he is named after the likes of Lichtsteiner, Srna and Rukavina, all mentioned in the last few weeks.
The Supreme Court on Tuesday gave the Abuja Division of the Appeal Court the green light to continue the hearing of all appeals relating to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidacy tussle in Ondo state.
On October 18, the Appeal Court had suspended hearings into the various applications pending the decision of the highest court.
The applications were brought to the Appeal Court by a factional candidate of the party, Eyitayo Jegede, who challenged the decision of the Federal High Court in Abuja to replace him with another contender for the ticket, Jimoh Ibrahim.
Even though the duo belong to the PDP, Mr. Jegede was picked by the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the party, while Mr. Ibrahim was selected by the camp of former Borno governor, Ali Sheriff.
A three-member panel of the appeal court led by Ibrahim Salauwa set aside the matter to await the decision of the Apex Court.
US Rapper, Kanye West has been hospitalised and is reportedly under psychiatric evaluation at UCLA Medical Center after a string of odd behavior, mid-concert rants and an abrupt cancellation of his “Saint Pablo Tour.”
BBCquoted a police spokesperson as saying they had received a “disturbance call” on Monday afternoon – but did not name the singer.
While the disturbance call was later deemed a medical incident, the spokesman for the LA Fire Department, who responded, said an unnamed man had been taken to hospital for “further assessment”.
While details of the incident from multiple sources continue to conflict, NBC News reports that West is currently under observation at a Los Angeles hospital after police responded to a medical welfare call yesterday.
“Multiple authorities familiar with the case” say this was “for his own health and safety”.
TMZ claimed that one of Kanye’s personal doctors believed him to be suffering from ‘severe sleep deprivation’.
“West initially opposed going to the hospital before being convinced, and was handcuffed to the gurney while being transported,” TMZ reported.
Neither West nor his representatives have made an official statement about the incident.
The “Gold Digger” rapper canceled the remainder of his “Saint Pablo Tour” following the bizarre incident, even after he had 21 concerts remaining on the North American leg of his sprawling tour, which he extended a few weeks ago beyond its original Nov. 2 end date.
“Tickets will be fully refunded at point of purchase,” the rep told Pitchfork.
Following the incident, some celebrities, friends and fans have taken to social media to voice their concern and offer well wishes to West with the hashtag #PrayForKanye.
PRAYING FOR KANYE. PRAYING HE HAS THE RIGHT ENERGY SURROUNDING HIM DURING THIS TIME. SENDING PEACE AND LOVE. 🙏🏿
The brand called ‘The Experience’ can hardly be termed new to the ears of Nigerians. It sparks excitement, faith and anticipation every time it is mentioned.
For a decade, the experience, hosted by Pastor Paul Adefarasin, has served as a gateway to the secret place of the Most High for Christians and non Christians alike. It has commanded the desire of Nigerians and foreigners to praise, pray and worship like they can nowhere else.
When it debuted in December 2006, it was mostly thought of as an over excited gathering of Christians who would soon loose their spark. Although 70,000 people gathered to praise that year, it was hardly impressed in their hearts that it would metamorphose into something bigger in the coming years. But then such is the hand work of the Most High God; using the little things to make the most incredible impact.
In 2007, eyes and ears were tickled with surprise as over 250,000 worshipers gathered from all over Africa to exalt the name of the one true King. International ministers were invited in to lead God’s children in deep and secret places, where their hearts can find expression in worship. Even when the rains came in 2008 to disrupt the flow of God’s agenda, the worshipers were unapologetic in their resolve to pray and praise. With the miraculous flow of testimonies, Nigerians were unrepentant in their resolve not to compromise on their 11 hours of worship and praise.
In its own unique and divine way, the Experience has created a culture of putting aside political ties, religious differences, tribal diversities and class barriers in exchange for a few hours of uninterrupted praise and prayer. Nigerians and foreigners alike have come to understand the powerful importance of coming together to seek the face of God through the gateway of praise and worship. The legacy of love, unity and unbridled expression of faith as represented by The Experience Lagos cannot be denied even in years to come.
It is no wonder that ministers and worshipers alike are stoked about The Experience Lagos 2016. The likes of Donnie McClurkin who has adopted an Igbo heritage, Micah Stampley who many believe is originally Nigerian, Don Meon who finds peace in worshiping amidst Nigerians are eager to climb the Experience stage. Blessed and powerful gospel artistes like Don Moen, Frank Edwards, Travis Greene, Tope Alabi, Micah Stampley, Cece Winans, Donnie McClurkin will be ministering on that much anticipated night! Also ministering are Gabriel Eziaschi, Eno Michaels, Chioma Jesus, Nwando, Tim Godfrey, Midnight Crew, Smokey Norful and Samsong. No doubt, Nigerians are soaked in anticipation of the 11th edition of the Experience.
As The Experience is set to Reveal Jesus in a new dimension this December, we are all invited to put all worries aside and come join in sending an avalanche of praise up, so that God’s blessings can indeed rain down.

BBC pundit Chris Sutton believes that troubled West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino is an ‘absolute joke ‘
The 23-year-old forward has returned to France to continue to work on his fitness at a conditioning camp in the south of the country.
Berahino’s return to the continent was accompanied by a statement that revealed much about the 23-year-old’s current mental state.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live ahead of tonight’s game between West Brom and Burnley, Sutton blasted Berahino’s inability to get fit.
He said: “Saido Berahino for the past year has been an absolute joke. Going to France to get fit? Why can’t he get fit in a park in Birmingham? The least you would expect from individual players is to be fit and get to an acceptable level.
“It comes down to the player having the pride to get to a proper fitness level. He’s let himself down. He’s a massive talent and is only 23-years-old.
“What Tony Pulis is asking is the most basic thing, to get yourself fit. And there are absolutely no excuses.”
BBC commentator Jonathan Pearce added to the debate suggesting that Albion should have sold the striker when Spurs made their last bid.
“I can’t see a happy ending to the saga,” he explained.
“They made a mistake when the money was on the table, 18 months ago, the manager wanted the money, the player wanted to go, but Jeremy Peace stopped it. I think they made an awful mistake then.
“There’s a kid in the West Brom Academy called Jonathan Leko, he’s got a great attitude. Saido is 23, he’s got to grow up and fast.”
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a football coach for allegedly sodomising three of his teenage players in the Agege area of the state.
The suspect, Frank Darlington, 49, who is currently cooling off in police custody, was accused of ‘forcefully’ having carnal knowledge of his players through the anus.
Darlington, the manager of Soccer Warriors Football Academy, Pen Cinema, was arrested on Thursday by the Elere Police Division, after one of the victims told to his parents, who invited the police.
It was gathered that the suspect, a native of Imo State, allegedly took three footballers to his house on separate occasions after training sessions, and sodomised them – with promises that he would help them advance their football career to clubs overseas.
The police said the suspect always invited the boys to his house after school hours and allegedly penetrated their anuses at separate occasions, threatening that they would surely die the day they ever reveal the secret to anyone.
One of the boys (names withheld) became uncomfortable with the act and stopped visiting the coach.
Apparently peeved by the boy’s action, Darlington stormed the boy’s school where he is also a football coach and threatened the boy with death.
At that point, the teenager, who became fearful, let the ‘cat out of the bag’ to his parents, who reported the matter to the police.
The victim said: “He always had sex with me and with most of us. He started last year. The first time he approached me was after a training session. We were on the football pitch and he said my performance was bad and I should meet him at home for a discussion.
“When I went, he and two boys were at home. His wife did not stay with him. He sent the two boys on an errand and asked me to come into his room. He then instructed me to remove my trousers, and he molested me.
“He did not use any protection. He did not give me any money, but he threatened that I would die if I told anyone. I cannot count how many times he had done this to me. I told my mother when I was tired of his abuse. My mother reported him at the police station.”
The Punch gathered that in his confessional statement, the suspect, while admitting to the crime, said he derived pleasure in it.
He said, “I have a female daughter, and she is three years old. I manage the Soccer Warriors Football Academy in the Pen Cinema, Agege area. It was in February 2015 that the rape started. I usually had sex with my boys just to play with them. It was romance. We had fun together. The last one I did was in July 2016, knowing that it could get me into trouble.
“I slept with only three of my footballers. There was one of my boys that had not been coming for training since last week. When I asked after him, I was told that he was sick. I did not know that he had reported to his mother and she had told the police.
“I do not know what moved me to be sleeping with them. I have been coaching for about 12 years. My wife stays in the South-East. She left me in March 2016. The sex with the boys was not for any ritual. I only derived fun from it.
“I knew it was a crime and that was why I stopped this act since July. I pledged not to go back into this.”
p style=”text-align: justify”>The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, who paraded the club manager, said the suspect would be charged to court at the end of investigation, adding that:
“There is no place for criminals to hide in the state. We enjoin the residents of Lagos to report suspicious movements and persons to the police.”
An unnamed club is willing to offer Lionel Messi €100m if he joins them in 2018, according to El Mundo.
Messi’s future at Barcelona has been subject to heavy speculation over the past two weeks following the emergence of reports which claimed that the Argentine star is unsure over signing a new contract at the Nou Camp.
Now, according to El Mundo, an unnamed suitor is prepared to offer the forward €100m if he does not sign a new Barca deal and leaves the club on a free transfer in 2018.
Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is willing to put his desire for a new contract on hold in order to concentrate on a vital run of fixtures.
“There are times during a season when as a player you have to think about yourself and there are times when you have to think about the team – and this is one of those times when it is more important to be focused on the team,” he told a number of national newspapers.
“I don’t think this is the right moment to talk about my contract, but I want to repeat my commitment is to the club and there is no rush.
“I am under contract until 2019 and I enjoy a great relationship with Mauricio Pochettino, Daniel Levy and, of course, the fans, so there is no need for anybody to worry.
“There is nothing to worry about. I don’t think this is the right moment to talk about (my contract). But I want to repeat my commitment is to the club and there is no rush.
“We will see what will happen, but at the moment I am focused only on Monaco and the other important matches coming up because it is a busy time of the year.”
