Paul Robinson Happy To Be Playing In The EPL Again

Featured Image

Paul Robinson admitted he did not think he would play in the Premier League again after making an impressive return to action in Burnley’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday.

“When I made the decision to come back, I couldn’t envisage I would get the chance to play in the Premier League again,” Robinson told the club website.

“It’s like riding a bike. It’s two years since I played a competitive game, four years since a Premier League game but I made the first save and it was like ‘that feels really good’.

“I just enjoyed it. It was a no-lose situation for me. We weren’t expecting to do anything and I personally wasn’t expected to do anything.”

Even though Aguero scored twice to help City win 2-1, Burnley boss Sean Dyche was full of praise for Robinson.

“He’s different class,” Dyche said. “I see him in training every day. He’s as lean and fit as he’s ever been, he’s mentally clear on what he needs to do and there’s a calmness to him.

“His save in the first half is top drawer. Forget about age. It wasn’t a major decision for me.”

Igbos Want Presidency, Not Biafra – Chief Iwuanyanwu

Featured Image

Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has called on President Buhari to stop treating the self-acclaimed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, as an important personality.

The renowned businessman, politician and founder of Nigerian premier league side Iwuanyanwu Nationale (now Heartland FC) advised the president to quickly allow the IPOB leader to have his day in court as that will stop people from treating him as an hero.

Iwuanyanwu made this statement on Friday, while speaking at the National Executive Council meeting of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Owerri, the Imo state capital adding that the Igbo people desire to produce the president of the country and not to separate from it.

He said, “Igbo people are majority tribe in Nigeria. We are everywhere and doing greatly.”

On the topic of the Niger Delta crisis, he urged the President to quickly summon a meeting of elders in the country in order to find a permanent solution to the Niger Delta problems and insurgency, he also chided the militants for blowing up pipelines and oil facilities describing it as an act of stupidity which hinders progress in the region.

The Imo State Governor, Gov. Rochas Okorocha speaking at the event said the unity of the country is non-negotiable and vowed that he will continue to do everything in his capacity to keep the country as one.

The governor said, “I see myself as an unusual Nigerian. While Igbo parents gave birth to me, I was born in the North, went to school there and even married in the North there. I was empowered by the West. For me, there is no better place to call our own than Nigeria. We must do everything possible to protect the country from those who seek its downfall.”
