The Executive Secretary, Borno Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (BOSACA), Malam Barkindo Saidu, has revealed that about 512 new cases of HIV infections have been recorded in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in the state.

This revelation was brought to light while speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Maiduguri, the state capital.

Saidu, while saying that the cases were recorded after voluntary screening in some IDPs’ camps in the state, noted that two out of the 512 persons were children.

He said: “We are currently conducting voluntary screening on HIV/AIDS in IDPs’ camps across the state to determine the status of the people, especially those rescued from the Boko Haram terrorists.

“As at last week, we have recorded 512 positive cases, among which two are children.”

“Currently, 2.4 per cent of the population of the state are living with HIVand AIDS, which translates to 108,000 persons, going by the record of the National Population Commission.

“But only a tiny portion of these people can access treatment because most anti retroviral centres have closed.”

He explained that only 32 out of the 90 anti retroviral centres were still operational in the state.

“Before the Boko Haram terrorism, we had 90 treatment centres across the state, but only 32 are still functional today.

“The rest have been closed down due to the Boko Haram terrorism, ” Saidu said.

He called on the Federal Government and donor agencies to intervene in the HIV and AIDS control in the state.

We Don’t Want You In Our Party – APC Tells Fayose

Featured Image

The Ekiti Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has told Governor Ayodele Fayose to forget any hope of joining the party from the Peoples Democratic Party because he is not wanted.

This was in reaction to reports that quoted the governor as saying that he may seek another political platform to prosecute his succession battle in the 2018 governorship poll.

READ ALSO: Fayose Drops Bombshell: ‘I May Dump PDP In 2018’

Last week Wednesday, Fayose was quoted to have said:

“I don’t know the platform I will use for the 2018 election yet and at the appropriate time, I will tell you. We are still studying the situation. We have to play the game left, right and centre and whoever we are going to use and the platform, you will all be part of the process because party politics is about the people.

“You all saw how people sold their votes in Ondo State, I am confident that that will not happen in Ekiti. I am close to the people; you are the source of my strength. Even if it requires just 48 hours to any election, if I tell you where to go, you will surely follow me there.”

However, in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun on Sunday, the APC said Fayose “is jittery following PDP’s loss in Ondo and is considering defecting to APC to save his skin.”

The statement read: “Fayose is always seeking to be relevant in party politics with his party dominating at the centre to enable him get away with his many cases of illegality and lawless conducts.

“Fayose has been jittery and confused since the PDP lost Ondo State to the ruling APC against all odds and calculations and as a political gambler, who has traversed many parties since 2003 till present, starting from the PDP to APGA, Labour party, romanced briefly with ACN  and PPA before moving back to the PDP even as he romanced AD in the last week governorship election, he is at his wits again to save his skin.

“Sensing that PDP is in the throes of death, he is contemplating dumping the party for APC, but there is no place for him in APC as he is only looking for an escape route from prosecution for his various infractions on the law since his first aborted tenure as governor.”

“Fayose is a blight to any political association he finds himself. For instance, he chased those who helped him win election in 2003 away from PDP and attacked several other members with thugs before he was sacked over criminal conduct only to return to the same party to cause more confusion in Sheriff/Makarfi fractious PDP where he paid his benefactors, including Buruji Kashamu, with evil.

“APC will never accept such a destabilising character and does not have a space for such a demagogue without any ideological bent other than to seize state powers for personal benefits after causing confusion and disaffection among the leaders and running members to the bush.”

“No amount of defection to any party would save  Fayose from prosecution.

“It is an act of insincerity on the part of Fayose, who daily boasts that he is the leader of opposition, to now dump his party for the party in power thinking that would save him from prosecution.

“The party he is planning to defect to is the same party whose members he has clamped in jail for over two years on trumped-up charges and whose many members were harassed, maimed and chased out of town shortly before the Presidential and National Assembly elections in 2015.

“Fayose is a trickster and a professional conman who deceives his hapless followers by saying things he does not mean and making promises he does not intend to keep.

“His latest hint that he may dump PDP which he later recanted has exposed him as a man of unstable character who should not be taken seriously.”

Eto’o To Mourinho: You Can’t Keep Defending, Football Has Changed

Featured Image

Samuel Eto’o has sent a warning to his former manager, Jose Mourinho, that he can’t keep defending in football, and the game is evolving.

The Portuguese has struggled to make much of an impact at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils 10 points off the top four. Even though United are in the semifinals of the EFL cup and are close to qualifying for the last 32, they’ve not made much of an impression.

Mourinho’s career has been inconsistent of late, he lifted trophies with Porto, including the UEFA cup and UCL, helped Chelsea to back-to-back league titles, before winning domestic and European treble at Inter Milan. However, he didn’t make much of an impact with Real Madrid, lifting one La Liga in his three seasons at the club.

Mourinho won the EPL in his second stint at Chelsea, only to be sacked in December 2015, after a poor defence to the title.

Now at United, the 53-year-old has the task of returning the Red Devils to the topflight and claiming European qualification.

And Eto’o, who played for Mourinho at Inter and Chelsea, believes the Portuguese is at risk of being left behind if he does not develop his methods.

“Jose has changed a lot,” he told Telefoot. “I discovered someone exceptional when I came to Inter. At Chelsea, it was already a bit difficult.

“He asked for three years to relaunch Manchester United, but you have to get your team playing, you can’t defend continually. Football isn’t like that anymore.

“Let’s be clear: I’ve nothing against Jose. He is able to pick someone, tell him ‘you are the best’ and he’ll have a very good game. But football is evolving.”

United have won just one of their last seven Premier League encounters heading into the game at Goodison Park.

De Boer: Inter Lacks Patience And Organisation

Featured Image

Frank De Boer says Inter Milan has no leadership in their hierarchy and lack organisation.

The former Ajax manager was appointed as Mancini’s replacement two weeks before the season started, and was sacked after 85 days on the job. He left the club languishing at 12th on the table.

Stefano Pioli was hired as his replacement, but the capital club still lacks consistency and are also out of the UEL.

De Boer has criticised Inter for their lack of patience and organisation, insisting they need to evaluate the situation carefully.

“It’s very simple. Internazionale have Chinese people who are the boss, an Indonesian chairman and then there is the board of directors, which are all Italians,” De Boer told Ziggo Sport.

“They all have the power, but none of them really has the power. That is the biggest problem of Internazionale.

“They seem to really like this situation, but first there ought to be a good look at internal organisation.

“Everybody wants to get back at the top, but that takes time. Look at Napoli, who are playing Champions League now. But it took them eight years to reach that level. At Inter they wanted to be at the top in two weeks and it just doesn’t work like that.”

Atiku, Tinubu And A Faction Of The PDP Set To Announce New Mega Party By March 2017

Featured Image

Except for any last-minute change of plans, there are strong indications that a planned mega opposition party in the country will be formed before the end of March, 2017.

The Punch gathered that those who were participating in the talks included a former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, a national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the Peoples Democratic Party.

It was learnt that efforts aimed at forming the party had intensified since the result of the Ondo State election was released.

A chieftain of the PDP, who craved anonymity, told Sunday Punch that with what happened in Ondo state, it was now very clear that the Muhammadu Buhari administration was not ready to relinquish power despite the fact that it had no solution to the economic recession in the country.

The source said, “The mega party is still at a formative stage but I can tell you we are making steady progress.

“With what happened in Ondo, you will agree with me that the cabal around the President, including a governor from the North-Central, and some ministers, has hijacked the party structure.

“They have shown more than once that they want to frustrate Tinubu and Atiku out of the APC.  These are tested politicians, who have no plans of retiring any time soon.

“The picture will become clearer before the end of the first quarter of next year (March 2017) because some of our people believe that if we come out now, the cabal will use executive powers to frustrate us.  Others feel it is better to let Nigerians know but our leaders are meeting at home and abroad. We are waiting for them.”

‘Stop Being A Weeping Man’ – Ex-EFCC Boss, Waziri Replies Nuhu Ribadu

Featured Image

Farida Waziri, a former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Saturday slammed her predecessor, Nuhu Ribadu, for saying that she was one of those Nigerians who frustrated the fight against corruption in the country.

Mr Ribadu had in a keynote speech at the 2016 Annual Lecture organised by the Law Chambers of Joe Kyari Gadzama on Thursday in Abuja, stated that Mrs Waziri “inflicted serious damages on the EFCC from which the Commission is still struggling to recover.”

Mr Ribadu had accused Mrs Waziri of inflicting serious damages on the EFCC from which the Commission is still struggling to recover.

Mr Ribadu had accused Mrs Waziri of inflicting serious damages on the EFCC from which the Commission is still struggling to recover.

Speaking under the theme “Corruption and the Nigerian Economy: Lawyers as Change Agents”, Mr. Ribadu also named foremost lawyer, Ben Nwabueze, and former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Michael Aondoakaa, among the people who undermined the country’s efforts to fight against the cancer of corruption.

However, in her reaction, through her personal assistant, Omolara Oluremi, Mrs Waziri warned Mr. Ribadu against using her name any time he needs public attention or sympathy.

The statement read:

“My attention has been drawn to a reckless and irresponsible statement credited to Nuhu Ribadu at a function on Wednesday (sic) in Abuja, where he, as has been his rhetoric since 2008 when I succeeded him as the EFCC chairman, attempted to malign me by accusing me of being part of his imaginary enemies who frustrated the nation’s anti-graft war.”

“My first inclination was to ignore Nuhu Ribadu since I know he is always obsessed with dropping my name into his script any time he needs public pity or political relevance. But, on a second thought I felt I should advise him to leave me out of his frustrations and face life.

“There should be a life after EFCC. If after eight years of being removed as EFCC chairman, he is yet to move on with life, even after two successive chairmen had occupied the same seat and moved on with their lives, then his problem may be psychogenic. He needs help elsewhere, certainly not from me.

“If Nuhu is yet to face the reality that EFCC is a Federal Government agency and not a personal estate of anybody, eight years after, I find it compelling to remind him, otherwise one day he would wake up to blame me for his defeat in the 2011 presidential election and even his pathetic outing in the 2015 governorship election in Adamawa State despite the slush funds deployed to ensure his victory at the polls.

“I equally suspect that Nuhu may, sooner than later, blame me for his penchant to jump from one party to another party like a political prostitute; from the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) to PDP and now to All Progressives Congress (APC).

“It is his lust for power, inordinate ambition and desperation for political relevance that continue to push him to dine and wine, and even enjoy the wealth of those he had labelled as corrupt in yesteryears. He can’t hold me responsible for his double face, lack of principle and complex contradictions in his character.

“There is also the need to remind Nuhu Ribadu that before he succumbs to another logorrhoea, he should avail himself a copy of the investigative report on recovered asset during his tenure as EFCC chairman and use the opportunity of the next naming ceremony or birthday party he is invited to, to explain to Nigerians what happened to billions of funds and asset recovered from suspects under him, with no records or documentation.

“He should be grateful to me that I cleaned his mess by creating an Asset Forfeiture Unit to put the records straight and do things rightly.

“No matter how hard Nuhu tries to obliterate my tenure with his numerous lies, the record of over 450 convictions secured during my three and a half-year sojourn in EFCC remains indelible.

“Though I inherited about 10 high profile cases from him in 2008, we took over 75 of such high profile cases to courts, with another 1,500 low profile cases pending in courts as at my exit in November 2011.

“We initiated and commenced work on the permanent office complex of the EFCC sitting on a 5.5 hectares of land along Airport Road, Abuja, in addition to setting up offices in Maiduguri, Borno State and Ibadan, Oyo State to expand the Commission’s scope of operations. I can go on and on, on my achievements.

“I have decided to mention just a few for now to discourage Nuhu from claiming the credit for them when next he wants to make himself happy or seek political relevance.

“At this juncture, let me advise Nuhu Ribadu to stop being a weeping man. Garrulity does not heal frustration or depression. He may consider vying for a local government chairmanship or councillorship position to get b’ so that he can stop spewing falsehood, fables and lies to seek public sympathy and political relevance.”

NYSC Issues Statement To All Prospective Corps Members On Health Status

Featured Image

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has advised prospective Corps members to always give correct information on their states of health while registering for mobilization into the Scheme.

The Director-General, Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, gave the advice when he addressed the 2016 Batch ‘B’ (Stream I) Corps members at the Orientation camps in Anambra and Delta States.

He explained that the essence of making provision for information on health status in the NYSC online registration process was to allow deployment of those with special health needs to their home states or locations of health facilities where they were receiving care.

Kazaure noted, however, that many prospective Corps members deliberately concealed their illnesses while registering on the platform.

The Director-General said the entire Management of the Scheme was saddened by the loss of three Corps members in Bayelsa, Kano and Zamfara camps, just as he joined Corps members and officials in observing a minute silence in honour of the deceased.

He assured that the Management would continue to accord top priority to the welfare and security of Corps members.

The Tyranny Of The Young On Nigerian Twitter – Kadaria Ahmed

Featured Image

The Tyranny Of The Young On Nigerian Twitter, By Kadaria Ahmed

I am in my late forties so I cannot be considered young by any stretch of the imagination. I am satisfied with my journey through life thus far and comfortable in my skin. However, some people believe I should actually be ashamed of my age.

This piece was written by Kadaria Ahmed. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of

Not once, not twice on Twitter, I have witnessed ‘young’ people employing the word ‘old’ when attempting to insult or shame people who are older than them, when an older person has dared express a view they find disagreeable.

They wear their ‘youth’ like a badge of honour. They strut and preen almost as if being young is an achievement like bagging a degree, setting up a successful business or having a positive impact on the lives of people.

The attacks that I speak of mostly occur when they can not engage with the subject under discussion because it is intellectually challenging. They are victims of our fault lines and are therefore incapable of cold, objective engagement with any issue. Their immediate solution is to obfuscate and muddy the waters but when that doesn’t work, they resort to abuse. It doesn’t matter what the subject is – music, the Arts, culture – but nothing riles them up more than an opposing political view! They pounce and before long, the word ‘old’ makes its debut. It’s the ultimate slap-down!

Given the many challenges we face in Nigeria, from our non-existent healthcare, to bad roads and the stress of earning a living in a difficult economic terrain, all of which have lead to a declining life expectancy; growing old is actually a feat that should be commended. It is a badge of honour that says look at me, I have survived, against all the odds. Instead, age has become a twitter weapon used to terrorise the not so ‘young’.

Maybe it is frustration with a generation that they believe has failed this country and therefore hasn’t earned the right to have an opinion. While this point might be pertinent, it is important to note that although I have witnessed a few men being ‘insulted’ by the tag of ‘old’, the most vitriolic instances are reserved for women.

If one is female, one faces a more virulent attack if one even ventures to express an opinion that may be controversial in any way, shape or form. Age, gender, and marital status ‘shaming’ by an army of young trolls is now the order of the day on Nigerian twitter, actively and tacitly encouraged by a wider Nigeria society which remains mostly patriarchal, parochial and in some cases even misogynistic.

While the focus on marital status is clearly a result of patriarchy, which promotes the idea that women have no worth unless they are tied to a man, why would a woman’s years determine whether or not she should have an opinion? One explanation is that because we are ‘old’ we are seen to be somewhat ‘deficient’. Which leads to the question: What is the main difference between young and ‘old’ women? Well the most obvious and visible differences are tied to reproduction, in short sex.

As women approach fifty, they stop producing certain hormones, as result of this, most of us stop being able to conceive and begin to see changes in our body. The general belief is that we stop becoming desirable. So again, it comes back to our worth to men. While this is actually not true, the fact that female aging is seen as a ‘deficiency’ speaks to a system organised again to measure women through the eyes of patriarchy.

I remember a certain Senator saying if he were to rape a woman it wouldn’t be one who is past her menopause. Where does one begin to even engage with this sort of statement? Is it to talk about the seeming normalisation of a hideous crime or the attempt to imply that women who are past menopause are unworthy of even having something so base and atrocious as rape committed against them?

On Nigerian Twitter today, it is not unusual for an argument on politics with older women to end with suggestions that they need to find a man to have sex with, to rid them of their ‘bitterness’. This is how smart, articulate women are reduced to nothing more than sex objects.

In this society today, there is no attempt at subtlety by men who have no respect for women. They are all too aware that their actions have no consequences and life goes on as normal, regardless of how egregious the remarks.

What is surprising is the number of young women who take part in this taunting. It amuses me no end and then it saddens me because at best they are unwittingly building and nurturing a process that systematically reduces them and which eventually, is likely to be used against them. They are active connivers because they have bought into the cultural ‘values’ that underpin and promote gender discrimination and misogyny. This is tragic.

Trust me, this isn’t an attempt to stifle debate. With any conversation, it is important to have multiple viewpoints. These are particularly critical as we seek to address significant problems ranging from violent religious and ethic clashes that have lead to thousands of deaths in a country which seems to simply refuse to grow and develop.

Inter-generational dialogue is also key as we have a large youth population (18 to 35) more than half of whom are disenfranchised and without hope. They need to take their destiny into their hands and force a change in an establishment that has let them down.

However, trolling ‘old’ people on Twitter, and targeting single women will not solve our problems. Despite our shortcomings and failures, and they are significant, most of us believe that we have to contribute to nation-building.

The censorship and gagging, the attempt at cyber-bullying is unacceptable because it narrows the conversation. The good thing is that many of us simply refuse to be quiet. We won’t be cowed by the tyranny of government and politicians and we certainly won’t be cowered by the tyranny of often nameless, faceless ‘young’ trolls on twitter.

APC Wins By-Election In Lagos

Featured Image

Nurudeen Akinwunmi, candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Saturday defeated his opponents to emerge winner of the Ifako-Ijaiye Federal Constituency bye-election in Lagos.

The returning officer of the election, Clement Aghatise, made the declaration at the INEC office in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government, minutes before midnight.

Declaring the winner, Mr. Aghatise said that Mr. Akinwunmi polled 7640 votes to defeat his closest rival, Babatope Akinyele, candidate of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who polled 1771 votes at the poll.

According to him, Social Democratic Party, SDP, polled five votes, Action Alliance, AA, had 14 votes, African Democratic Congress, ADC, had 158 votes while Alliance for Democracy, AD, had 101 votes.

Mr. Aghatise said that the total number of registered voters was 339, 864; total number of accredited voters was 10, 051; total number of valid votes was 9689; the total number of invalid votes was 195, while the total votes cast were 9884.

“Mr. Akinwunmi Nurudeen Olaitan of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and he is returned elected, ” he said.

Some of the party representatives who spoke to NAN expressed mixed reactions to the results.

Chidi Williams, an ADC party agent, expressed dissatisfaction with the process.

”There were a lot of malpractices; it was not really free and fair. We had records that some people who had lost their PVCs were allowed to vote in some polling units.

”We want INEC to detach itself from political parties and not allow itself to do what is unethical. INEC should work more on neutrality, ” he said.

A PDP representative at the collation centre, Sunday Kudehindu, also said he was not satisfied with the process, stressing that the ruling party had continued to induce voters with money.

Mr. Kudehindu said that INEC had not totally become an unbiased umpire.

The APC representative at the centre , however, refused to talk to press, saying that he had received an instruction not to grant interview.

The by-election was occasioned by the death of Elijah Adewale, who represented the constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.

Mr. Adewale died in Abuja on July 20.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Saturday night, Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, said:

“With every respect to the Emir, you know he is my ruler because I come from Kano.

“He does not have his facts as far as those issues are concerned.”

His statement comes after the Emir was quoted on Friday as expressing his disapproval of the borrowing plans by the Buhari-led administration.

Sanusi, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), was speaking at a policy dialogue forum organised by Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development in Abuja.

“I can tell you for free, if the Senate today approves that we can borrow $30 billion, honestly, no one will lend us.

“It should be approved and I will like to see how you will go to the international market with an economy that has five exchange rates.”

However, Shehu added that the issue in CBN, that government has overdrawn its Central Consolidated Account is true, but it is within limits.

He said: “The overdraw does not exceed N1.5 trillion. It is incorrect to say, as he did that the account was overdrawn by N4.5 trillion.”

On the Emir’s opposition to the loan, Shehu said the Minister of Finance would respond appropriately.

“As a private citizen, I want to read his statement again. I thought that the borrowing is for projects that include the railway and electricity development in the country,” he added.

Boxing: Molina To Exploit AJ’s Mistakes

Featured Image

Eric Molina is looking to exploit any mistakes IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, is sure to make when they box next Saturday in Manchester.

The American boxer is in England as he is trying for a second time to win a world heavyweight title, he was knocked out by Deontay Wilder in his first attempt to win the WBC belt in 2015.

However, Molina (25-3-KO19) has gone on to beat Rodricka Ray and most recently Tomasz Adamek since his 2015 loss.

“They judge me by the (Chris) Arreola fight (the second of three defeats), which was my first step up as heavyweight. You guys could’ve beaten me – I was weak-minded,” Molina said.

“I have grown into a very dangerous heavyweight. There’s no other heavyweight in the world who could have gone through the things I’ve gone through to get here.

“I have a vision in my mind as to where (Joshua) makes mistakes and I have a vision as to where I am very, very dangerous. In my mind, those fit together so well.

“I don’t feel Dillian Whyte is a big puncher. He’s a good fighter but he’s not a big puncher, so I know if he can hurt (Joshua, as he did in their 2015 fight), I can.

“I’ve got a list of guys I’ve sparred with and you guys would drop your jaw if I told you who I’ve hurt. I know I can hurt this man – it’s not even a question. Just like I know he can hurt me.”

The Success Of The Experience 2016

Featured Image

To say it was an amazingly electrifying night would not do it adequate justice. It was phenomenal! The awe that captivated the audience from the moment they flocked into TBS ground at 6pm to when Tope Alabi released them at 5am was tangibly felt. It was an evening that was better experienced than talked about. So was the success that was The Experience 2016.

The evening started with a colourful ministration by the House on the Rock choir and progressed into soul stirring performances from Onos, Eno Micheal, Sammie Okposo, Frank Edwards and Segun Obe. The grandfather of worship like he’s most often called, Don Moen, left no stone unturned in the journey to rendering deep heartfelt worship at heavens gate, with the audience. The thunderous ministrations from Midnight crew, Gabriel Ezenachi and Tim Godfrey left the crowd screaming for more! It was indeed intense.

As the evening glided to a climax, Cece Winans, Smorkey Norful, and Donnie McClurkin showed what it meant to praise God in one accord, inspite of cultural differences. Travis Greene who was visiting Nigeria for the first time, felt interestingly at home on the Experience stage. He shared testimonies and lead the worshippers in a bout of pure and
undiluted worship.

The Convener, Pastor Paul Adefarasin was unrepentant in his resolve to preach the gospel of Christ, hence the theme ‘Revealing Jesus’. His love for a better Nigeria could be felt from the various sessions of prayers that were raised for the nation through different pastors of different churches. According to him, ‘Every Christian ought to be multidimensional, with political, economic, social and spiritual influence. Christians should get involved in governance! Our nation deserves, not the worst leading the rest, but the best, serving the rest’

While men slept and complained about economic obstacles, the Experience is continually providing a platform for small and medium businesses to thrive. It was obvious the impact it had on the economy of the state, from the activities that went on at different corners of the TBS ground.

As Chioma Jesus and Tope Alabi led the eager audience in a ground shaking rumble of praise, it was obvious the zeal Nigerians and Africans have to worship. No doubt this would last them beautifully well, till the Experience 2017 comes up. We can’t wait.

Marotta Finds Pogba’s Holiday Comments Funny: “I Hope It Was Instructive”

Featured Image

Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta finds Pogba’s comment about being on holiday during his time with the Old Lady funny.

The Frenchman stated in midweek he always knew he would return to Old Trafford, following his world-record transfer from Juventus.

Pogba left Manchester United for Juventus in 2012, but rejoined the EPL giants during the summer transfer window in August.

“We want to be good-hearted in interpreting what one says,” Marotta told Mediaset Premium of the 23-year-old France international.

“I hope his vacation with us was an instructive one. If he managed to wear the Manchester United shirt, it’s because Juventus got the best out of him.

“Really, it’s best just to laugh…”

Marotta was speaking prior to Juve’s 3-1 win at home to Atalanta on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Pogba is set to return from suspension for United’s trip to Everton on Sunday.

Bilic Admits West Ham Are Fighting To Stay In Top Flight

Featured Image

West Ham gaffer, Slaven Bilic admits his side are fighting to stay in the EPL and believes the sooner the players realise that, the better, as he intends to keep managing the club.

The Hammers season took a turn for the worse, after suffering a humiliating 5-1 defeat to Arsenal at home.

West Ham are now without a win in five league matches and are 17th on the table, just one point outside the relegation zone.

Asked if West Ham are in a battle to preserve their top-flight status, Bilic told reporters: “Of course we are in a relegation fight and of course the players know that.

“It’s not that they don’t care. I spoke to all of them but something is there between caring and being crazy.

“The players and I are together. We didn’t play tonight like we know we can, and we are in the same position we were in before the game.

“It’s about time for us – not for them – to realise what position we are, the situation we’re in at the moment and the only thing we have to do to get us out of this zone.”

Despite West Ham’s woes, Bilic has no plans to walk away from the club, who suffered a 4-1 loss to Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup.

“I’m a very positive, open person and try to be open and honest. I am very optimistic and will never give up. I am positive I can turn this around,” he added.

“Do I enjoy to be in this situation? No. Do I feel pressure? Yeah, but I don’t want to feel like I’m feeling now. Am I positive? Yes I am. Did I do enough last season to get some credit? I think I did.

“At the same I’m 48 and have been in football for 30 years so I know how it works in football, and I have absolutely no problem with that.

“Do I like my job? Yes, I like it.”

Aubameyang: I Might Not Be At Dortmund Next Season

Featured Image

Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has stated he does not know if he’ll be playing for the club next season.

The Gabon international had previously stated his desire to play for Real Madrid, in other to fulfill a promise to his grandfather.

The 27-year-old has also been linked with Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United. He scored a brace in Dortmund’s 4-1 win over Mochengladbach to take his tally to 18 goals this season.

Although Aubameyang stated last month that he could consider staying at Signal Iduna Park beyond his current contract, which expires in 2020, he has declined to offer any further guarantee over his future.

Asked if he will be a Dortmund player next season, he was quoted as saying by German media: “I don’t know if I will stay. I just think about playing good football right now. I want to give my best and win titles. I just think about the sport and nothing else.

“Last year I scored 18 goals before Christmas. I hope I can do better this year. But I also want to focus on the second half of the season.”
