Payet Defends Leaving West Ham

Featured Image

Dimitri Payet has finally spoken out after his bitter departure from West Ham to Marseille.

The Hammers slammed the France international after his transfer to Marseille, accusing him of lack of respect.

Payet insists he began his stand-off a long time ago and that he missed France and wasn’t happy at England.

“[This move] is what I wanted. It was clear from the start,” Payet said, who was forced to pay back his January wages, according to Sky sources.

“I didn’t feel very good over there. I wanted to be part of this project that is just getting started. It came at a time when I missed France.

“It was drawn out because I started my stand-off with West Ham a long time ago. Slaven Bilic had his view. I spoke to him. I don’t want to talk about this at the moment, but I don’t have to justify my behaviour.

“I needed to come back to France to Marseille – it was a personal choice. I’m very happy. My main motivation is to play football. If I was playing for money, I’d be in another country.

“If [the move] hadn’t gone through I would have lived with it. Thanks to all the staff for doing what was needed.”

Mason Discharged From Hospital

Featured Image

Hull City have confirmed Ryan Mason has been discharged from the hospital after receiving treatment for a fractured skull.

The midfielder suffered the life threatening injury after an aerial clash with Gary Cahill in the loss to Chelsea.

Hull City have now revealed that Mason has been discharged and he received lots of love when he was admitted.

“The number of messages offering support during Ryan’s recovery has been quite overwhelming,” said club doctor Mark Waller.

“It is certainly true to say that the football family rallies around at times like this and we would like to thank everybody that has been in contact with us in recent days. We would also like to say a special ‘thank you’ to Julian Redhead and Kevin Tsang, two consultants who have been instrumental in Ryan’s recovery to this point.

“Their calmness and professional manner enabled us all to have absolute confidence that Ryan was in good hands. A&E departments in many towns and cities nationwide have had some criticism recently but I have nothing but admiration for all of the staff who cared for us last Sunday.”

Hull face Manchester United on Wednesday and manager Marco Silva has vowed that the club will “play for Mason”.

Big Brother Naija: Competition Gets Stiffer As Debbie, Bassey Enter The House

Featured Image

Debbie and Bassey are definitely not new on the TV screens!

The arrival of the first runner-up in the third edition of Nigerian Idol, Debbie Rise and an actor, Bassey sparked excitement at a critical time that two of the original housemates were to be evicted.

To the dismay of the surviving 10 housemates, it was a tale of joy-amplified when Marvis and TBoss returned to the house.

The highlight of the unfolding drama was Debbie Rise’s well orchestrated art of deception, which wowed everyone, including the viewers. On her entry to the Big Brother house, the young songstress who is said to be a tomboy, feigned convulsion and slumped outright, perhaps in demonstration of the awe-inspiring beauty of  the home. This play act alarmed the already-troubled housemates as they scrambled to bring her back to life. Quite surprisingly, Debbie suddenly end the act by bursting into laughter.

The return of Marvis and TBoss to the House as well as the twist of additional housemates brought back additional drama to the House. Their return brought back more intrigues, colour, and excitement to the show. The social media has since been awash with lots of positive commentaries, with many fans saying Kemen and Bassey will present the clash of muscles. On the other hand, some female folks tweeted that Bisola and Debbie may not get along. Whichever way it goes, the addition of the new housemates has received broad-based commendation, with many fans lauding Biggie for this strategic move.

Who will ultimately walk away with the coveted N25 million and a new Kia Sorento car?

Nominations for eviction begin in the new week, but the two new housemates are immune, just as they are also not allowed to participate in the nomination process. Who will be the first to go? The rivalry, fights, and intrigues will certainly become more intense as the housemates get to find out who nominated who for eviction. Friendships and alliances will break down for new ones to be formed.

There are strong indications emerging that the Department of State Service (DSS) have released the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

DSS Reportedly Releases Apostle Johnson Suleman

The report, which has been making the rounds and yet remains unconfirmed, has it that the operatives of the security police are done with their interview and have told him he can go home.

DSS Vs Apostle Suleman: Let The Truth Be Told

The secret police had invited him for interrogation based on his recent alleged inciting comments that Christians should defend themselves against attacks by Fulani herdsmen.

How Fayose Foiled DSS Plan To Arrest Apostle Suleiman In Ekiti

Barely two weeks ago, the controversial pastor was reported to have ordered his security aides to kill “any Fulani herdsman that comes into his church premises.”

He said this on the back of information received on a plot to assassinate him.

The development led to a ‘foiled’ – middle of the night – raid by detectives of the DSS in Ekiti State to arrest him.

‘If You Are Involved In MMM, You Are Demonic’ – Apostle Suleman [Watch Video]

DSS operatives had stormed the hotel where he lodged after a crusade, but Suleman quickly reached out to Ayodele Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, who intervened on his behalf.

Yesterday, Suleman, had challenged the Federal Government to compel the Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, to produce the Fulani herdsmen he gave money.

The outspoken cleric made this known in a statement issued by his Communications Adviser, Phrank Shaibu.

According to him, the governor should be made to answer charges of murder and other related crimes against humanity.

Apostle Suleman Prepares To Appear Before DSS On Monday With 30 Lawyers

He said naming the beneficiaries of the money would disabuse the minds of Nigerians of the conflict that Christians were the targets of incessant attacks by Fulani herdsmen.

Police Arrest Biafra Times Publisher, 9 Others On Charges Of Sedition

Featured Image

The Lagos State Police Command on Monday said it had arrested the publisher of Biafra Times and nine others for allegedly publishing and circulating seditious and malicious publication.

While parading the 10 suspects, Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, said 515 copies of the offending newspaper were recovered during a raid on the printing press in Shomolu, Lagos.

He said: “The printing press has been shut and the environment is being monitored.

“This is an offence punishable under the Criminal Law of Lagos State.”

The Police Commissioner further stated that the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigation was over.

The arrested publisher, however, told journalists that he had no intention to promote disunity and disharmony among Nigerians.

“I love my country and I love my president. My intention is not to fight my country; I just want to pass out information to those who have no access to the Internet.

“I usually go on the Internet to source for information and publish. I have other papers on sports and social life which I publish,’’ he said.

The main publisher revealed that he had been publishing for the past eight years but only specialised in Biafra Times three months ago.

“I decided to specialise on Biafra Times when I discovered it is always a sell-out anytime we published stories about eastern parts of the country.

“Sometimes, I go to newspaper vendors and hear people requesting for Biafra Times.

“We usually print about 5000 copies which we sell for N100 nationwide,” he said.

Consumers Restate Loyalty To Amstel Malta As Producers Of Concocted Videos Come Under Security Surveillance

Featured Image

Consumers of Amstel Malta have restated their loyalty to the premium, low sugar formulated malt drink with international heritage from the stable of Nigerian Breweries.

In August last year, Amstel Malta launched credential campaign #WhyAddMore stating that consumers will do more good for themselves if they avoid adding more unnecessarily to what they presently have or enjoy.

The campaign also re-enforced Amstel Malta’s place as the Premium Malt Drink, with an original formulation that contains less sugar and is enriched with vitamins and minerals.

Shortly after the campaign, a picture went viral that a fake version of the Amstel Malta was in circulation. This was because the new packaging wore the new NIS logo while the old packaging had the old NIS logo of the Standard Organisation of Nigeria.

Soon after this, the Nigerian consumers were greeted with another offensive video of an Amstel Malta can drink allegedly containing a strange object. A faceless consumer recorded an alleged contaminated drink and circulated it on social media.

But consumers of the malt drink have denounced the concocted video and described the content as an embarrassment to logic and brand marketing.

Commenting online, Kunle Popoloa described the video as a scam from “the stable of negative minded people.” The same sentiment was shared by a Michael Ojo and Adetola Precious who described the video as misleading and damaging. Another consumer, Patience Moses described the content as “ugu water” and demanded a probe of the incident to bring the culprit to book.

Forensic and marketing analysts have also observed that it is very clear that the same source that initially created a video of a purported  ‘fake ’ or ‘original’ but who could not sustain the fabrication is the source responsible  for the current orchestration and poor dramatization of discovery of foreign content.

Analysts and observers agreed that this might be coming from the enemy’s camp as the recording left many gaps to cast a doubt on the genuineness of the video. For instance, the can was opened before the video recording, thus failing the basic test of validity.

Meanwhile, Nigerian Breweries has reported the defamation attempt to the security agencies for further investigation.

However, the Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), the statutory body that is vested with the responsibility of standardising and regulating the quality of all products in Nigeria, debunked the claims by a faceless video producer of a fake Amstel Malta in circulation.

Mr. Fred Akingbesote, Deputy Director, who represented the Director General of the organisation, explained to Journalists in Lagos that Nigerian Breweries have met all SON safety and quality requirements and have complied with all requirements of the new National Industrial Standard (NIS) logo.

Exim Bank Of China Approves N408bn For Lagos-Ibadan Rail Project

Featured Image

The Export-Import (Exim) Bank of China has approved $1.275bn (about N408bn) loan for the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge rail line on behalf of the Chinese government.

The approval is coming few weeks after the Federal Government of Nigeria had announced the release of N72bn as its counterpart fund for the project.

Nigeria Pays N72 Billion To China For Lagos-Ibadan Railway Project

While Nigeria is to bear 15 per cent of the cost of the project, China will shoulder 85 per cent for the first phase fast rail that will eventually terminate in Kano.

Speaking on Sunday, the Managing Director, Nigerian Railway Corporation, Mr. Fidet Okheria, said that with the approval of the funds by the Chinese Exim bank, all was set for the commencement of the construction of the modern rail line from Lagos to Ibadan.

“The Exim bank of China has now approved the loan and the next stage is for the Minister of Finance to sign it to signal the beginning of the project,” he said.

Okheria also revealed that the final signing by the Chinese government for the project to commence would only come after two weeks when the country’s New Year holiday would have been over.

Lagos-Ibadan New Rail Project “Worth N458bn” To Begin In February

Last Monday, the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, had said that the Federal Government decided to release the N72bn as its counterpart funds in full to ensure that there would be no delay in the implementation of the project.

“On the construction of Lagos-Ibadan railway line, the Minister of Finance has been kind enough to release the counterpart funding in full. I think in the history of Nigeria, this is the first time that we are releasing counterpart funds in full so that there will be no delay,” he had said.

Med-View To Become First Airline To List Its Shares On Nigerian Stock Exchange Tomorrow

Featured Image

Med-View Airline will be listed by introduction on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday, January 31, a senior official said on Sunday in Lagos.

Known to be one of the fastest growing flag carriers in the country, Med-view would be the first airline to list its shares on the stock exchange in the last decade.

Sources at the stock exchange hinted that Med-View Airline would be listing N9.75 billion ordinary shares of 50 kobo each at N1.50 per share, indicating a start-off market capitalisation of N14.63 billion.

With the listing and sales of shares to members of the public, the airline would have access to the needed capital inflow to run more efficiently and improve confidence of investors.

Besides, shareholders would also have a say in the running of the airline, while the risk of ownership is spread among the shareholders as well.

Med-View’s Executive Director, Business Development, Mr Isiaq Na-Allah, in a statement, said:

“Medview Airline (christened “The Airline of Nigeria”), started from a humble beginning 12 years ago as a cargo, tour and charter operator.

“Not contented with tickets and destination sales, the airline ventured into Hajj operations.

“The airline’s forays into pilgrims airlift has revolutionised pilgrims handling and airlift in Nigeria and in the West African sub-region.

“Today Medview is the benchmark and the airline of choice when it comes to Hajj operations in Nigeria.

“It is ranked number one by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria for hitch-free Hajj operations.”

It was also learnt that that Kedari Capital Limited and Trustyields Securities Limited are the financial Advisers/issuing House and Stockbrokers to Med-View Airline in respect of the listing exercise.

National Assembly To Create 25 New Federal Agencies

Featured Image

The National Assembly (NASS) is preparing to create about 25 new federal agencies as the country continues to tarry in the face of a bloated bureaucracy and the current economic recession.

The plan to create the additional agencies is coming at a time when the government is working to merge some existing agencies as part of cost cutting measures.

“There Would Not Have Been Recession If Jonathan Was Still In Power”

Daily Trust reports that about N2.98 trillion or 40.1 percent of N7.28 trillion 2017 federal budget is allocated to 541 federal agencies, departments, commissions, institutes, bureaux and others bodies.

According to data obtained from the official website of the National Assembly, the Senate had started the process of creating 25 additional agencies within last year alone, with the bills already at various stages of legislation at the upper chamber.

Panic As Naira Plunges To An All Time Low Of 500 Per Dollar

It is also understood that majority of the federal agencies that are annually guzzling trillions have duplicated roles; dozens hardly do anything apart from keeping the red tape long, while a large number of them overstayed their statutory duties.

Ancelotti: My Training Does Not Kill My Players

Featured Image

Bayern Munich manager Carlo Ancelotti says his training does not kill his players and he allows his players to rest between matches.

Some coaches are known for their high-intensity training regimes and are at risk of getting their players injured.

Pep had to play with key players sidelined when he was at Bayern Munich, but Ancelotti says rest is as important as training.

“I’m not a coach who kills his players in training,” the Italian told Kicker. “Most of the drills we do involve the ball, I don’t like running a lot without the ball, but my players average 6,000, 7,000 metres. That’s enough.

“In Spain there is a saying: ‘demasiada agua mata la planta’ – too much water kills the plant. It’s the same with training.

“The dosage must be right. You can train hard, but you have to give the body the chance to relax.”

Emir Sanusi Charges Northerners To “Stop Producing Children Like Commodities”

Featured Image

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has pleaded with the people from the north to change their attitude towards marriage and child bearing.

This is even as the former Governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) charged them to marry only the number of wives and produce the number of children they can adequately cater for in the interest of themselves, the region and the entire nation.

“Girl Child Education More Important Than Building Of Mosques” – Emir Sanusi

The outspoken Emir made this appeal while speaking at the 60th Anniversary, Founder’s Day Lecture and Magazine Launch of Kaduna Capital School during the weekend.

Saying he had no issue with those who could handle a bigger family capacity, Sanusi added:

“You are allowed to marry two wives if you can maintain them, you are also allowed to produce 100 children if you can maintain and educate them; but if you cannot, please marry the number of wives you can maintain and produce the number of children you can take care of.”

“We are obsessed by number as anything produced en masse is cheap. We have produced all these children like commodities; they are there on the streets and that is why they die and people don’t care because they have no value. They are also on drugs and people don’t care.”

He called on northern leaders to seriously look at the failure of social policy in the region, including attitude to marriage, early marriage, family planning, polygamy, divorce, rights of a child over the parents and the responsibilities of fathers, among others.

According to him, “many of the people we have in the North feel that a father is the one who is able to produce a child and that parenting is about biological reproduction and not about proper upbringing.”

Antonio Conte Comments On The Futures Of Branislav Ivanovic And Asmir Begovic

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has admitted that the futures of defender Branislav Ivanovic and backup goalkeeper Asmir Begovic are still unclear ahead of Tuesday’s transfer deadline.

Ivanovic’s current deal at Chelsea will expire at the end of the season, the experienced defender will depart the Blues for a small fee this month.

Goalkeeper Begovic, meanwhile, has talked up a move away from Chelsea in recent days as he struggles to accept being second choice to Thibaut Courtois.

Conte has refused to rule out either player leaving the club before the end of the January transfer window, but has also insisted that he would be more than happy to keep the pair with his first-team squad.

“Until now yes. I will have the training session then I will see. Honestly I didn’t speak with [Ivanovic] about his decision and for sure we know he is talking with other clubs. But until now, I don’t know. We have to wait,” Conte told reporters.

“He played a lot of games for this club, he won a lot for this club. He’s 32 and I think he can play for many years. He is able to continue his career in the right way, at the top level. But it is important to respect the decision of the player. He is a legend of the career and if you are not playing a lot you an make decision to play for another team.

“I haven’t news about Asmir. I think we will have to wait until tomorrow to see the situation. He wants to play every game but Asmir knows our situation. If we are able to find a good place, he will go. Otherwise he will stay with us and fight until the end, to fight to win the title.”

Mourinho: Coaching United Is Tough

Featured Image

Jose Mourinho has admitted his task of restoring the glory days of Manchester United is a difficult task.

Mourinho took over from Louis Van Gaal in the summer to save United. It was back in 2013 that the Red Devils last won the EPL.

The highest spot United has finished since Ferguson’s exit is fourth under Van Gaal and they won the FA Cup under the dutchman.

“There are no miracles in football,” Mourinho said. “When a team is in trouble for two, three, four years, it’s for some reason.

“When a team win titles, and in recent years (don’t) win titles, it’s for some reason.”

United are 14 points behind leaders Chelsea this season and sit in sixth place with 16 games remaining on the Premier League fixture list.

Mourinho added: “Some people get more difficult jobs than others, I got the biggest job in the country, one of the biggest jobs in the world

“(It is) a job I can imagine everyone would like to have, but I got a difficult one.”

DSS Vs Apostle Suleman: Let The Truth Be Told – Inibehe Effiong

Click here to read more opinion articles

It is politically correct and simplistic for anyone to demand the arrest and prosecution of Apostle Johnson Suleiman, the outspoken and controversial Founder and General Overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries over his recent belligerent utterances against those said by the Nigerian government to be aliens from Mali, Niger, Chad and other neighboring countries; the so-called Fulani herdsmen.

This piece was written by Inibehe Effiong. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

That is what is expected of any die-hard supporter of President Muhammadu Buhari who may be motivated either by ethnic, religious or political sentiments and considerations. It perfectly fits into the narrative of those seeking to divert attention from the unabated mass murder of Nigerian citizens by ‘’foreigners’’ in Southern Kaduna and other parts of the country and the troubling silence of the Nigerian state.

For me, it is Nigeria first. Loyalty to our nation and its Constitution should always take precedence over political, ethnic or religious affiliations. Are we not ashamed as Nigerian citizens that the State Security Service (SSS) is taking action against Apostle Suleiman, a citizen, for making inciting statements in response to the Southern Kaduna massacre when no single person is on record as having been arrested and prosecuted for the killing of defenseless Nigerians, whether Christians or Muslims, in Kaduna State by ‘’foreigners’’?.

Apostle Suleman Prepares To Appear Before DSS On Monday With 30 Lawyers

I refuse to join the mob calling for the head of Apostle Suleiman, not because I am a Christian or a Southerner but because my spirit, soul and body resent, detest and reject hypocrisy, injustice and oppression in every form. If Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State could shamelessly use taxpayers money to settle or compensate alleged murderers who he also claimed are foreigners in his unserious attempt to dissuade them from their murderous and satanic proclivity, what justification does anyone have to demand the prosecution of Apostle Suleiman for basically calling for self-defense, though in a rather bellicose language?

Governor El-Rufai who is on record for issuing divisive, irresponsible, inciting and dangerous threats and statements in the past without being arrested or prosecuted, further legitimized the insane culture of appeasement of criminals in Nigeria by seeking a truce with alleged murderers instead of bringing them to justice and compensating the victims. If there is no other person that knows those who take senseless pride in shedding innocent blood of human beings because their cows have been attacked or killed, Governor El-Rufai knows them, on his own admission.

The Nigerian state and the SSS or DSS cannot be strong with those calling for self-defense and weak with those who are the real perpetrators of violence and mass murder. It is an unprovoked assault on the intelligence of patriotic Nigerians for the SSS to swiftly go after Apostle Suleiman when the alleged murderers who instigated his bellicose and unfortunate statements are walking freely. That is not just a case of double standard but an audacious and tragic statement that in Nigeria under President Buhari, the criminal justice system is skewed to protect the killers and hunt those calling for self-defense or revenge against the alleged killers.

How Fayose Foiled DSS Plan To Arrest Apostle Suleiman In Ekiti

Is there any self-respecting and truthful person in Nigeria today that will deny the complicity and utter nonchalant disposition of the Buhari’s administration to the killings and destruction by the so-called Fulani herdsmen? Why are we pretending as if we are oblivious of the conspiratorial inaction of the federal government to the mass killing of Nigerians across the country by the herdsmen?

Who has been prosecuted for the Agatu massacre in Benue State? Who has been prosecuted for Nimbo massacre in Uzo-Uwani of Enugu State? Who has been prosecuted for the serial murder of protesting Shiite Muslims in the North? Who has been prosecuted for the continuous killing of Pro-Biafra agitators in the East? Do the lives of our people really matter to President Buhari?

Like many Nigerians, I was outraged by the statements made by Apostle Suleiman after watching the video. Religious leaders should foster the bond of unity, preach peaceful co-existence and not be the instigators of anarchy. Not all Fulani herdsmen are murderers. There are criminal elements in every tribe and religion. We should never submit to the temptation to stigmatize or label an entire religion or tribe for the criminality of its disgruntled members.

The herdsmen have their grievances which should be attended to. Similarly, the host communities and farmers also have their grievances. The bottom line is that no person or group of persons should be excused and protected by the Nigerian state for embarking on mass murder because his or their cows or farmlands or crops have been killed or destroyed, as the case may be.

A deeper and dispassionate introspection on this matter evinces a fact that many commentators and public intellectuals are shying away from. The fact that if the President Buhari-led administration had fulfilled her primary purpose under Section 14 (2) (b) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) by prioritizing the security and welfare of its citizens, there would have been no calls for self-defense and revenge against the continuous attacks by the herdsmen.

Mr. Buhari failed, refused or neglected to act responsibly when the crisis between the herdsmen, their host communities and farmers reared its ugly head at the inception of his administration. The apparent inaction and seeming complicity of the President and other leaders like Governor El-Rufai allowed the crisis to fester and emboldened the herdsmen to continue to kill people indiscriminately at the slightest provocation.

It is because the Nigerian state under President Buhari is confused as to whose life is more important; between that of a human being in Southern Kaduna, Nimbo, Agatu or any other part of the country and a cow, that we now have a situation where those accused of mass murder are protected and compensated while the victims are abandoned and left unprotected and those who react fiercely or irresponsibly to the shameful and pathetic dilemma of the Nigerian state like Apostle Suleiman, are speedily targeted by the institutions of the state.

Get this clear: Apostle Suleiman is not above the law. He is not immune from arrest and prosecution. What we are saying is that it is unacceptable for the SSS to go after him over his bellicose utterances when the killers of innocent Nigerian Christians and Muslims are walking freely. This is not the time for anyone to pretend to love the rule of law more than others. Let justice be done and the law enforced without ethnic, religious or political bias.

Self-defense is a fundamental right recognized and guaranteed by Section 33 (2) (a) of the Nigerian Constitution. There is nothing unlawful in calling on those whom the Nigerian state has failed to protect and rescue from the murderous grip and attacks of blood thirsty criminals to defend themselves. If Apostle Suleiman went beyond the constitutional allowances of self-defense and freedom of expression, let the law take its course.

However, it will be an aberration for Apostle Suleiman to be punished or persecuted over his utterances when the real perpetrators of the violence and the mindless killings that he complained of are left to go unpunished. Justice should be blind to all persons irrespective of their race, religion, sex, ethnicity or political leaning.

“There Would Not Have Been Recession If Jonathan Was Still In Power”

Featured Image

An erstwhile Minister of Special Duties, Mr Kabiru Turaki has hinted that the current economic situation (recession) that has befallen the country would have been prevented under the Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) era.

While speaking with newsmen in Abuja, he blamed the current economic travails on the All Progressives Congress (APC) unpreparedness for governance, adding that the ruling party failed to put its house in order and blend as a political party.

Panic As Naira Plunges To An All Time Low Of 500 Per Dollar

Mr Turaki explained that things would have been better if ex-President Jonathan was re-elected into office in 2015.

He said: “I’m a lawyer but despite that, we all know what is happening in Nigeria. When you have a political party that has come into an election without been prepared for governance; when you have a party that does not do its homework well; when you have a party that is yet to blend as a political party, then the recession is something that is bound to happen.

“I must concede right away that there are challenges all over but then, things (the economy) would have been better probably, if PDP were in office.”

Kara Mbodji Refuses To Return Back To Anderlecht After AFCON Exit

Featured Image

Leicester City transfer target Kara Mbodji is reportedly refusing to return to Anderlecht from AFCON in protest at a blocked move to the Foxes, according to Belgian newspaper Nieuwsblad.

The Senegal defender, 27, is reportedly being valued at £13m, with Leicester seeing two lower bids already rejected this month.

Kara Mbodji has been on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations and is supposed to have returned after his country were knocked out on penalties with Sadio Mane missing the decisive spot kick.

Leicester have been looking to bring in defensive cover throughout the window and have failed to land Francesco Acerbi from Serie A side Sassuolo
