Southampton Complete Signing Of Caceres

Featured Image

Former Juventus and Barcelona defender Martin Caceres has joined Southampton on a deal until the end of the season.

Caceres was able to join Southampton after the close of the January transfer window, because he was a free agent, as he left Juventus at the end of last season.

Southampton manager Claude Puel has been looking to sign a new defender since a long-term injury to Virgil Van Dijk and the sale of Jose Fonte.

The Uruguayan is happy to have joined Southampton, as they prepare for the EFL cup final against United.

“I am very happy to have signed for what is an important club in English football,” the 29-year-old said. “I am looking forward to getting started with my new teammates.

“Of all of the options that I had, I think that the best option for me was to come to Southampton. I am extremely happy to have joined this club.

D’USSE is a premium deep amber coloured cognac with a distinctively bespoke bottle that is uniquely and prominently emblazoned with the iconic cross of Lorraine – the French symbol for honor, courage and perseverance. The brand, distributed in Nigeria by Bacardi-Martini Nigeria has been available in VSOP for about two years and the XO is planned to be in the market sometime in March.

An elated Ice Prince, being the first Nigerian brand ambassador for D’USSE, is also the first Pan African musician to represent the premium French cognac line from Bacardi. He expressed his heartfelt thanks to D’USSE and Bacardi-Martini Nigeria for the honour. Joshua: I’m Unleashed In The Ring

Featured Image

Anthony Joshua believes what he needs to beat Ukrainian heavyweight Wladimir Klitschko is to be unleashed in the ring.

Joshua who holds the IBF heavyweight title will battle Klitschko for the vacant WBA and IBO titles at the Wembley Stadium come April 29.

There has been respect between both boxers in the build up to their much awaited bout, but the undefeated Brit won’t show any towards Klitschko in the ring.

“Come the night I have to be a killer,” said Joshua, at a promotional event in Germany on Thursday. “If you are not a killer in this game, you get eaten alive.”

“I’m like a tamed animal – until I’m let off the leash in the ring,” he added.

Fury afforded Klitschko little respect in the build-up to their clash and the Ukrainian has been quick to praise Joshua’s altogether more courteous manner this time round.

“It is refreshingly different from the British boxers I fought before,” said Klitschko, who was also forced to engage in a war of words with David Haye back in 2011.

“Anthony is proof that it is not about nationality, but personality. The respect we are showing each other for this fight is good for boxing. It is what boxing needs.

“This fight does not need the pretend bullying, It is a match-maker’s dream. Look at 90,000 fans coming to Wembley. I am glad to be going to London now. The British are great people who love their sport.”

Joshua will be in possession of three of the five major titles in the heavyweight division if he beats Klitschko, with Wilder and Parker holding the WBC and WBO belts respectively.

However, the British fighter insists he has no right to view himself as the No 1 heavyweight in the world until he unifies the division.

“There will still be work to be done before I can think of making that claim,” Joshua said.

“I might see myself as the universal heavyweight champion if I unify all the titles. That’s not easy to do with so many mandatory defences for the different belts but that’s my aim.

“I look at what Wladimir has done in the last 14 years. He can’t go on another 14 years. But I can. That is my pathway to reigning as the heavyweight champion for a long time.

“Wladimir is a great champion but my legacy is beginning. I admire his experience but basically I believe this is a young man’s sport.”

Pedro Insists He Is Very Happy At Chelsea

Featured Image

Pedro was not sure if he wanted to stay at Chelsea long-term, but says he is now happy at Stamford Bridge.

Just a year after arriving at Chelsea the Spain international was looking to return to Barcelona.

The 29-year-old Pedro has been in impressive form this season after enduring a poor 2015-16 season, he has scored nine goals already.

“This is the best moment for me at this club and also the best moment for the whole team since I’ve been here,” Pedro told Chelsea’s official magazine.

“I’m very happy here. It’s a good situation when you are top of the League and progressing in the FA Cup. We are on the right path.

“Last year was a difficult one for me, for the club, for the team, but this year is different.

“With this coach, all the team is focused on the fight for the title, with more confidence for every game and this is good. It’s a completely different season.

“Every day I’m more comfortable with the team, with my team-mates, with the club and I have a good relationship with the supporters. All is good for me here and I’m very happy with the situation.”

He added in this month’s edition of the official Chelsea Magazine: “I understand the Premier League more now.

“It’s very different compared to Spain, but now I’m in my second year here I understand the football. It’s quicker, more intense and more competitive.

“For me it’s different now I have adapted. I have to run a lot, play harder and I’m very quick, which helps me in the games here in England.

Pedro has made 27 appearances in all competitions this season, becoming a key figure for Antonio Conte in a system designed to bring the best out of creative attacking talent.

Ranieri: Surviving The Premier League Is More Important

Featured Image

Claudio Ranieri admits Leicester City have a poor run of form, which is disappointing and admits staying in the EPL is more important.

Leicester have not won or scored any goal in the league, but have only secured FA Cup victories over Everton and Derby.

Ranieri’s men are just one point and one place above relegation and will have to be without Slimani and Ulloa for their match against Millwall and will also travel to Sevilla next week Wednesday.

“Our target is the Premier League. That’s it,” he said. “Of course, we play in FA Cup, in Champions League, and we do our best. But our goal is to be safe, to stay in the Premier League.

“Against Derby I played the other players, and I want to give another opportunity to show how they are good.

“This is serious. We know very well. But we are more solid, more close together, because only like this can we go out.

“He [Slimani] feels something in his groin and we are waiting for him. For this match he is not available. [Ulloa’s] started to train but not properly because he always feels something. Today he didn’t finish the session and then we have to wait to see him back. I can’t tell you something until the medical staff tell me he’s 100 per cent fit.”

Bellew Would Give Haye A Rematch

Featured Image

Tony Bellew believes David Haye will come up with any excuse if he loses against him and he’s prepared to offer him a rematch.

The Everton fan is quite confident of beating Haye in their heavyweight clash that is setup for March 4 at The O2.

The war of words between both men doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon and Bellew says he is looking to revive Haye’s career by giving him a shot at a rematch.

“I’m going to be a good man and give ‘Sideshow Bob’ a return once I’ve knocked him out,” Bellew told Sky Sports News HQ.

“I’m going to give him a way back, because believe you me, when I beat him on March 4 you are going to hear every excuse possible. From he’s got a sore toe, a broken finger nail, his hair band wasn’t on right.

“I’m already prepared for ‘I wasn’t taking him seriously’, ‘I was in Miami’, ‘I was on yachts, ‘I was sipping protein shakes out of a cocktail glass’.

“All I will say is, I will give you the chance to get it back, once I stop you on March 4.”

93 Days Gets Inundated With Global Recognition And Selection From Lagos, LA To Johannesburg

Featured Image

These are interesting times in Nigeria’s movie industry. Nigerian movies are breaking the glass ceiling with 93 days leading the pack with its acceptance at virtually every prestigious international festival.

“The story of 93 Days centres on the sacrifices made by men and women who risked their lives to make sure the Ebola virus was contained, before it becomes an epidemic, when it was imported into Nigeria by a Liberian American diplomat. 93 Days is also dedicated to Ameyo Adadevoh, a Nigerian physician who played a key role in the containment of Ebola in Nigeria. The movie was directed by Steve Gukas and was shot in several parts of Nigeria.”

In a country where history and heroic feats are not well documented, 93 Days saves the day with proper and accurate representation of the sad event in Nigeria. 93 Days have been able to document a segment in the history of this nation for future reference so accurately. Shot at multiple locations in Nigeria, 93 Days movie has brought a new angle to filmmaking in Nigeria which is often dominated by comedy and is the easy way out for some filmmakers.

93 Days, The Only Nollywood Movie To Premiere At The Chicago International Film Festival 2016

The movie has premiered in both African and international countries with loads of positive reviews from the audience.

One of the ways to know a good film is by the quality of festivals it has shown or will show. This is so because reputable international festivals have stringent rules and standard which the movie must meet. Notable festivals amongst others where 93 Days was shown and sold out include Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Chicago International Film Festival where it was the only Nigerian film to show there, and Los Angeles Pan African Film festival and the Johannesburg Rapid Lion Film Festival. It has just been selected to show at The prestigious American Film Institute.

Movie Review: 93 Days (Ebola Movie)

This movie deserves all the accolades that it’s currently getting. One of such is the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards where it topped the list with 13 nominations.

Even though most of the categories are voting categories, the producers are counting on the goodwill they got from most Nigerians at the cinemas to work in their favour again this time.

A movie directed and co-produced by Steve Gukas. A production of three giant entertainment companies: Native FilmWorks, Michel Angelo Production and Bolanle Austen-Peters Production.  It stars Bimbo Akintola, Bimbo Manuel, Charles Okafor, Danny Glover, Gideon Okeke, Keppy Ekpeyong Bassey, Somkhele Idhalama, Tim Reid, Sola Oyebade, Charles Etubiebi, and Seun Kentebe.

Beyond the accolades from both the media and the cinema audience who have seen the movie, the image of Nigeria as a slow respondent to epidemic disease outbreak has been re-branded.

93 Days: The First Movie On Ebola In Nigeria (TRAILER)

In one of her interviews, Bolanle Austen-Peters, said:

“We did the Ebola movie because we wanted to add value. I didn’t want to do just any movie.”

“We told a story that needed to be told. I felt that if we did not tell that story, foreigners, as usual, could come and tell of the brave and courageous people who fought against the Ebola virus to save all of us. For me it was very important that the story was documented for posterity.”

On why they took a risk on shooting a movie on Ebola when they could have made a strictly entertaining movie and make more money, she said “It is very important that we document things. 93 Days (the title of the movie on Ebola) is of educational and historical significance. That is why I feel in some ways we have added a lot of value.”

The movie director and co-producer, Steve Gukas expressed the readiness of the crew for a great movie even before the shooting started.

“I knew going in, that this was a film that will not have any razzmatazz. That it would swim or sink on the strength of the performances and the look and feel. On that front, talent was key in the casting. I knew we had to get actors with depth and capacity to deliver powerful yet, very nuanced performances.”

“In terms of size and scope, ‘93 Days’ has been the most challenging. It needed more money plus the huge challenge in shooting in a metropolis like Lagos. You could hardly do a two-unit move in one day because of the size of the crew and traffic. Then you put on top of that the challenge of funding and the pressure of telling a story so close to our collective memory.”

The movie got endorsement from two respected personalities, Hollywood actor, Danny Glover and Nigeria’s most famous blogger, Linda Ikeji.

Danny said, “93 Days symbolises the spirit of the Nigerian people and the vibrancy of the industry. From the moment we had the script, we knew we had something special. Steve (Gukas) wanted me to do a cameo role. After reading the script, I realised I need to do more than that.”

Linda Ikeji said the movie is the only Nollywood movie she has gone to the cinema to see.

She said: “93 Days is the only Nigerian movie I have ever paid to go watch in Nigerian cinema and what a movie; amazing cinematography, storytelling and acting. It’s based on the story of the people who saved lives of many Nigerians by containing Ebola that came to their hospital-First Consultant Medical Hospital and the hero, Dr Ameyo Adadevoh who made sure the Ebola carrier, Liberian Patrick Sawyer didn’t leave the hospital and spread the disease. Amazing movie”.

Griezmann Praises Simeone For Making Him One Of The Best Players In The World

Featured Image

Antoine Griezmann has praised his manager Diego Simeone for bringing out the best in him, as he’s considered one of the best in the world.

The France international was brought from Real Sociedad back in 2014 to replace Diego Costa. He didn’t disappoint, as he scored 25 goals in his debut season.

A tally he increased in the following season, scoring 32 goals and has already scored 16 goals this term.

Griezmann was third in the 2016 Ballon d’Or and has been a subject of a huge money transfer to Manchester United.

Griezmann is now considered to be among the finest forwards on the planet, but he insists that standing has only been made possible by the coaching he has received from Simeone.

He told FIFA’s official website: “He’s changed me. He’s brought so many things to my game that it’s hard to even begin to say what they are.

“Let’s just say that I wouldn’t have been regarded as one of the best players in the world if it weren’t for him.

“More than anything he’s helped me to be more effective in front of goal, to take every chance that comes my way, and, of course, to run and run and work hard for the team. You can’t make it at Atletico if you don’t do that.”

And even though he has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Atletico, he is not ready to leave.

Griezmann added: “On a personal level I’m very happy, and in football terms we’re about to move to a new stadium, which is very important.

“We’ll just have to see what the future brings, but for now I’m very happy here and I hope to win trophies with this club.”

Speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Abuja, Wabba said that the consensus was reached during the sitting of the Technical Committee on Palliative.

He said the committee was meant to look into the framework to ameliorate the sufferings of Nigerians and cushion the effect of the increase in the price of fuel.

He also noted that the report of the committee, which was also meant to discuss the issue of the minimum wage, was ready for submission.

“I think there is a consensus on the fact that nobody has said that the minimum wage should not be reviewed.

“The palliative report is ready and it would be submitted before the end of the month.

“At the last palliative meeting, labour leaders had requested that they needed to look at the main report of the committee before submission.

“So, the technical committee will have to submit its report to Mr President and not to the Minister of Labour and Employment,‘’ he said.

The NLC Chairman added that after the submission, the Presidency would then set up the tripartite committee that would involve the government, private and public sector.

NCC Bans “Open” Registration Of SIM Cards

Featured Image

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), has banned telecom operators from SIM Cards registration in an “open” or ‘’uncontrolled environment’’.

Despite Outrage, NCC Defends Plan To Increase Data Price In Nigeria

Daily Trust quoted the Head of Enforcement Unit at the NCC, Salisu Abdu, as saying that it is now illegal for telecom operators or their representatives to do registration of SIM cards in an open or ‘’uncontrolled environment’’.

Mr Abdu made this known on Wednesday while speaking with pressmen after three persons found registering SIM cards in open places were arrested in Abuja.

NCC Bows To Pressure, Suspends Data Price Hike [Read Full Statement]

He recalled that the federal government through the commission had issued a directive to all telecom operators since November to stop their agents from registering SIM cards under umbrellas and in kiosks effective from February 1, 2017.

“SIM registration should only be done in a controlled environment- a permanent building with logos and structures of the operators in place – with identities of the agents doing the registration.

“We came up with this so we will be able to trace where SIM cards are registered to stem the tide of rising crimes, especially kidnapping and militancy”, the NCC official said.

He said N5million would be slammed on any dealer or operator who flouts the directive.

Mai Kariyane: Muhammadu Buhari And The Failure Of Integrity

Featured Image

Mai Kariyane: Muhammadu Buhari and the Failure of Integrity, By Majeed Dahiru

CLICK here to read more opinion articles

The president of the Nigerian federation is suffering from a rare character disorder known as dishonest integrity. Some visible symptoms of this disorder include multiple and conflicting personality types, double standards, preaching what is not practiced, reneging on promises and breaching agreements. The symptomatic effect of this character disorder on the way and manner the Buhari administration is running the country has far-reaching consequences on the socio-economic well-being of Nigeria and Nigerians. Hampered by a dominant figure at the head of government with a dishonest integrity, the programmes and policies of the Buhari administration have been plagued by narrow sectional interests rather than broad national interests, which has expectedly failed to solve any of its inherited problems.

This piece was written by Majeed Dahiru. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

President Buhari was reputed for having unquestioned integrity; a man of truth, probity and honesty. His antecedents in public office suggested a man who was averse to indiscipline and corruption. These qualities and many more endeared him to millions of Nigerians. The poor and downtrodden adored him and proclaimed him, Mai gaskiya. The ruling class respected him for ignoring the looting circle despite having all the opportunity available to him to partake in it. His reputation was greatly enhanced by his tenacity in the opposition to the then ruling PDP, which was a bye phrase for misrule and arrogance of power. Between his first attempt to become president in 2003 and his eventual election after the fourth attempt in 2015, a lot has changed in the political life of Muhammadu Buhari.

From a sectional candidate who ran on the sentiments of an Arewa agenda of taking power back to the North in 2003 to a certified opposition leader when he ran against a fellow Northerner in 2007, a combination of a credible and opposition candidate who enjoyed massive following in the North in 2011, he finally became a national consensus candidate when a broad coalition of diverse and sometimes conflicting interest groups propelled him to the highest office in the land in 2015. The Buhari brand was hinged firmly on his integrity and incorruptibility; two qualities that were thought to be very rare in the political establishment that was the PDP. A great effort was put into projecting him as a national figure rather than a sectional champion.

He started his campaign from the southern city of Port Harcourt, dressed in full Ijaw attire. As a person who had been accused in the past of being a religious bigot, he was seen on several occasions attending events in churches. Most notably, he was physically present at the church service of the burial ceremony of APC chieftain, Ikechukwu Emenike’s father in-law in Abia state, in March 2014 at the Holy Trinity parish Umule village. He was also seen on two occasions attending thanksgiving services organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), first at the International Conference Centre, Abuja and secondly at the Lagos government house, in the election years of 2011 and 2015 respectively. These steps were deliberately taken to allay the fears of the Christian population of Nigeria. Giant and colourful billboards of the president decked in the different traditional attires of various ethnic groups endeared him to all. The president promised transparency and accountability in government business. He openly declared that he was going to declare his asset publicly. He promised to cut wastage in public finances by reducing expenditure on things like foreign medical trips and vacations.

The first sign of Muhammadu Buhari’s dishonest integrity was his adoption of extreme sectionalism in his strategic appointments, which not only favoured his Northern region but excluded the entire South-East region from his kitchen cabinet and his security council. Sectionalism is the root of corruption. Sectionalism promotes mediocrity and incompetence, which results in corrupt practices that eventually lead to economic and financial crimes. Therefore, the president is promoting corruption, rather than fighting it. Since he became president, Buhari has not been seen anywhere around a church event. For example, he arrived at the burial ceremony of the late matriarch of the Yoruba nation, HID Awolowo, shortly after the church service in November 2015.

President Buhari has not visited the entire South-East region of Nigeria and has visited only Cross River State in the entire Niger Delta region. He has not been seen in public adorning any other attire but his native Northern ones. The next major failure of the integrity test was the president’s reluctance to declare his asset publicly as promised. When he eventually did, under intense public pressure, he merely listed his asset without specific details of type, location, size and value. The reluctance of the president to declare his asset publicly is for the obvious reason that unknown to his devote followers, he is a man of reasonable means, contrary to public perception. His declaration of the possession of a landed property in Abuja sent shock waves down the spine of millions of Nigerians who were made to believe that Mai gaskiya is the only former military head of state without a home in Abuja.

Enter the president’s anti-corruption war. He loves to blame the PDP for all of Nigeria’s woes. His rear gaze is perpetually activated towards the sixteen years of PDP rule, which he claims achieved nothing and destroyed the country. That president Buhari is rigidly fixated on this false narrative clearly shows a man suffering from a chronic form of dishonest integrity. That PDP failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians does not mean they achieved absolutely nothing. The PDP administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo inherited a worse situation in 1999 than Buhari did in 2015. In May 1999, Nigeria’s foreign debts stood at a meagre 3 billion dollars as against 24 billion dollars in 2015. The international price of crude oil stood at 17 dollars per barrel in 1999 as against 38 dollars in 2015. The minimum wage of Nigeria’s workforce was about three thousand naira in 1999 as against 18,500 in 2015. The president’s double standards is also always on display when he is referring to PDP. To Buhari, the PDP members that destroyed Nigeria are those who supported Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 election but not those who decamped to APC on the eve of the presidential election and supported him with their looted fund.

Another indication of the president’s inherently deficient integrity is the issue of his constant medical vacations overseas; a practice he preaches against. Despite voting huge sums of money for the state house medical centre, an amount estimated to be over 30 billion naira, the president’s still travels on the public purse for medical vacation. The presidential spin doctors have refused to disclose the actual state of the president’s health. He is said to be hale and hearty but at the same time undergoing medical examinations, which have called for an indefinitely extended leave. That we are asked to pray for our president who is said to be “hale and hearty” is the height of disrespect for and insult to our collective intelligence as a country.

That Muhammadu Buhari, commonly referred to as Mai gaskiya, cannot be truthful enough to reveal to his countrymen the true state of his health, clearly lumps him with the very people he loves to hate – the corrupt ruling political class. The lack of unanimity among Nigerians on sympathy and prayers for the president is as a result of the deeply divisive attitude of his government, which has left Nigeria more fractured along fault lines than ever before in its over fifty years history.

In reaction to the glaring failure of the president’s integrity tests, Nigerians have grown more hostile and suspicious of the Buhari administration. The presidency has become more opaque than transparent, as promised. Half-truths, cover ups, decoys, deflation, buck passing, denials and outright lies have become the mode of operation of the Buhari presidency.

To keep the Buhari worshippers in the line of devotion, a well-oiled propaganda machinery is in place to misinform the public by the way of a clever twisting of facts and figures to obscure the reality of the failure of the Buhari administration as much as possible. The Goebellian-style propaganda is being prosecuted with fascist precision of mind indoctrination of the gullible many, who are stuck on the Buhari persona as infallible. This vicious propaganda war against common sense and logical reasoning is gradually failing because the pace of socio-economic progress is glaringly slower than the fast paced propaganda can really obscure. That chief propagandist of the Buhari administration has gained the notorious sobriquet of “lie” Mohammed is an indication the Muhammadu Buhari may have transformed from being Mai gaskiya to Mai kariyane.

Alleged N108bn Fraud: EFCC Takes Control Of Akpabio’s Wife’s School

Featured Image

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has seized a school allegedly belonging to Unoma Akpabio, wife of former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio.

The seizure, it was learnt, is not unconnected to the ongoing investigation of her husband, Mr Akpabio, who has been accused by the premier anti-graft agency of alleged N108bn fraud during his tenure from 2007 to 2015.

It is understood that the school, St. John Paul II School, in Shelter Afrique, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, had been marked “under investigation by EFCC.”

The school, it was learnt, had been under the watchful eyes of the EFCC considering the enormous amount said to have been sunk into its construction.

Although, on Wednesday, normal academic activities were still ongoing in the school, but a police van was stationed outside the gate.

A senior operative at the EFCC confirmed that the school had been seized.

“I understand our operatives were recently in Akwa Ibom and did mark a school as ‘under investigation,’” he said.

The spotlight beamed on him last year when he was first quizzed by detectives following a series of petitions written against him.

Akpabio, who is now the Senate Minority Leader, was accused of embezzling public funds while he was governor of the oil-rich state.

Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro scored a stunning long-range goal against Napoli and he revealed he had been practicing such goals.

The Brazilian scored the third goal for Barcelona, sealing the victory against Napoli.

And the 24-year-old who scored the spectacular volley from 30-yards out said he had been putting in work in training.

The 24-year-old said it was the type of strike he had been practicing.

“I’ve been practicing those kinds of shots a lot,” Casemiro said, via Marca.

“They’re important because of my position on the pitch.”

Casemiro said he simply wanted to generate as much power as he could when the clearance came his way.

“I’m lost for words,” he told UEFA .

“When I struck the ball I wanted to smash it, for the game, for the fans, for the Bernabeu. I love to play here, I can’t say any more than that.”

Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos also scored for Madrid after Lorenzo Insigne gave Napoli a surprise lead.

The second leg is in Naples on March 7.

Doctors Embark On Nationwide Strike In Zimbabwe

Doctors in Zimbabwe have embarked on a nationwide strike over poor allowances and other issues resulting in the shutting down of several departments in state-owned health institutions.

The disgruntled doctors started the strike on Wednesday – a time the government was finding it difficult to pay workers’ salaries promptly.

In Kenya: Court Jails Doctors’ Union Officials For Going On Strike

In a statement issued yesterday, the President of Zimbabwe Hospital Doctors Association (ZHDA), Dr. Edgar Munatsi, said:

“There was an overwhelming high response from Government doctors across the country. Central hospitals such as Mpilo, Parirenyatwa and Harare hospital today literally closed their Out-patients-department and cancelled emergencies. The ZHDA deployed a few doctors in casualty and emergency department to cover for emergency cases.

“This response by the ZHDA membership countrywide is a signal of the strong message that should there be no meaningful concessions from the employer on the three main sticking issues(post internship employment, on call allowance and duty free) service delivery is likely to further deteriorate as Government doctors in District and provincial hospitals are joining in from tomorrow (Thursday).”

“All government doctors are urged to remain resolute in this course. The ZHDAs will be meeting Clinical Directors and CEOs on your behalf. You are therefore advised to stay at home until further notice.

“Let us take inspiration from the resounding success of the first day of our strike.”

He further explained that the ZHDA is also considering approaching the office of the president and cabinet for a meeting to seek intervention on these issues.

Junior doctors went on strike a couple of months ago expressing dismay over similar issues, which were not wholly addressed by the government.

Robben: Bayern Were Prepared To Beat Arsenal

Featured Image

Bayern Munich were looking to finish off Arsenal and were prepared to do so according to Arjen Robben.

Bayern opened the scoring, before Alexis Sanchez restored parity as they went into the break, unfortunately, the match ended 5-1, much to the humiliation of Arsenal.

And Robben felt Arsenal’s style of play played into Bayern Munich’s hand.

“It was a little bit like [exhibition] play from our side,” he told Dutch broadcaster Veronica TV.

“Our football wasn’t that great. It was a different game since they [Arsenal] are a team that want to play football. They gave much space away. We had some great attacking play.

“I can politically correctly say that there’s still 90 minutes to play for. But normally this is it. We said to each other ‘we need to finish it now’. We saw their heads were hanging. It’s not over, but we can’t let it slide now.”

He added: “I have to say I’m a little surprised at our good display – although on the other hand I’m not. We’re rock-solid when it’s do-or-die. The team just have great character.

“We shouldn’t have conceded the equaliser. Overall we dominated the match and were in control, scoring beautiful goals in the second half.”

Keown: Wenger Has Never Had It This Worse

Featured Image

Martin Keown a former Arsenal defender has branded the 5-1 humiliation at the hands of Bayern as Wenger’s lowest point.

Arsenal went into the break level on 1-1, but conceded four goals in the second half to lose 5-1 at the Allianz Arena.

Wenger’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and so might his 21-year association end with the Gunners.

Keown concedes major changes could be afoot, he insists he would never call for Wenger to be sacked.

“I can’t ever say that I’d like to see him go when you’ve won things,” he said on BT Sport. “He’s almost my footballing father. You do things as a family.

“But he’s an intelligent man and this is obviously his lowest point ever.

“Should he be protected from himself? This is a massive low point for him and will only bring forward the change that looks ever more likely.

“I think it will be him that makes the decision. The realisation [is]… he’s probably going to have to hand the reins over to someone else.”

Zidane Says Insigne’s Goal Was F***** Up

Featured Image

Zinedine Zidane doesn’t sound too happy with Lorenzo Insigne’s goal, as he felt it was against the run of play.

However, Real Madrid got back into it after Benzema finally scored having gone six matches without a goal. The striker headed in Carvajal’s cross to restore parity.

Toni Kroos scored the second goal, before Casemiro smashed in a stunner of a strike to secure a 3-1 win and the advantage heading into the second leg in Italy.

“That’s the way football is. It’s a pain that, playing as we did from the start, with that intensity, they go and score. It’s a bit f***** up,” said Zidane.

“But in the end, we scored straight away and we got into the game.

“Benzema showed that he has personality and that, in critical moments, he knows how to answer in the best way possible – by scoring. I would have liked him to get one more because he had chances. When he moves in that way, he’s a constant danger.”

Zidane warned his players that the tie is far from over, however, with Napoli knowing that a 2-0 win at the San Paolo will be good enough to send them through.

“It’s still 50-50,” he said. “It’ll be a second leg and they will make it difficult. I would have liked not to concede. It’s a good result, but it’s not decisive. It’s not enough to settle the tie.”

Lukas Podolski Set To Join Japanese Club Vissel Kobe

Featured Image

Former Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski has agreed a move to Japanese club Vissel Kobe, according to reports in Turkey.

The former Germany international, who has spent the last two-and-a-half-years at Galatasaray, has agreed a three-year deal worth €15m (£12.7m), the Hurriyet Daily report.

Galatasaray are expected to receive €2.7m (£2.3m) for the 31-year-old, who has made just 13 appearances this term, scoring three goals.

The move may be seen by some as a step down as Vissel have never finished higher than seventh in the J-League since reaching the top flight in 1997.

But the former Bayern Munich ace, who has been capped by Germany 129 times, will have a chance to push them up the league.

Mark Noble Wants To End His Career At West Ham

Featured Image

Mark Noble has expressed his desire to see out his playing days at West Ham.

The Hammers captain, who is approaching the 400th appearance of a 12-year stint in the first team, admits he cannot see himself playing for another club.

“I would like to finish my career here, that’s what I’ve always thought,” he is quoted by the Evening Standard.

“I can’t see myself playing for another football team, but football is such a changing world so you can’t ever tell what’s going to happen next season.”

“Walking around the place, I know all the coaches at Under-7, Under-8 and Under-9 level, sometimes I go and watch the youngsters train and I feel like I’ve been there and done it myself, coming up through the ranks with the Club.

“I’ve managed to captain this fantastic Club, which is something very few players get to do, captaining the club they support, so it’s a major honour for me. I don’t think I’ll appreciate it fully since I stop playing
