Pogba: We Want To Beat Chelsea

Featured Image

Paul Pogba is looking to switch up the trend of Manchester United losing to Chelsea this season, by getting a win on Sunday.

Chelsea are looking to extend their lead on Tottenham when they visit Old Trafford to seven points, keeping the title within sights.

Pogba’s side lost 4-0 to Chelsea in the reverse fixture of Sunday’s match and crashes out of the FA Cup, losing 1-0 again at Stamford Bridge.

“Well, this season Chelsea have beaten us two times and, obviously, we don’t want that to happen a third time,” Pogba said. “We want to win.

“Obviously they are ahead of us, they’re playing for the title and, for them, it’s important to win this game. For us as well, because we’re playing for the top four, it’s going to be a game that’s really important for each team.

“We have to be focused and get ready and show them revenge, it’s revenge for us. So, let’s be positive about it and hopefully go and win this game.”

“They have a great team and everybody knows that,” Pogba said.

“When you’re playing in the Premier League, you have to have a bit of luck as well but you create the luck.

“They have a manager who pushes them and they have players who want to show the world that Chelsea are still alive… Last year that didn’t happen.

“But you never know, that’s the beautiful thing in the Premier League. You never know what’s going to happen. They’ve done good this season.”

Zidane: Isco’s Future Is At Madrid

Featured Image

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane believes Isco’s place is at the club, after the midfielder came on and scored a brace to win it for Madrid.

The playmaker scored in the 17th minute after an amazing solo run to equalise against Sporting Gijon.

Madrid went behind a second time, before Morata equalised and Isco scored a late winner to keep Los Blancos in the clear.

The 24-year-old has constantly been linked with a move away from the club, but Zidane wants to keep him at the club.

“Isco played a great game. I am happy with how he played, he made the difference, his goals got us the three points,” the Madrid boss said at a post-match news conference.

“Isco is a great player and he has shown that Madrid is where he belongs. He has shown with his performance that he is a great player.

“If I have been unfair to Isco I have been unfair to all who do not play. In the end we are 24 players and everyone can play outside of Real Madrid.

“This is the difficulty of this position, to put good players on the bench from time to time.”

Pochettino: Now We Wait For Chelsea To Drop Points

Featured Image

Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino praised his side for their 4-0 win over Bournemouth and says they can just wait for Chelsea to slip up.

Spurs have not lost a game at home in the league and their recent win puts them within four points of Chelsea.

Chelsea play Manchester United tomorrow and Pochettino is hoping the table toppers drop points.

“It was another great performance. I think the players deserve full credit for how they played and I think it was fantastic from us,” he told Sky Sports.

“4-0 is a good result for us but the three points is more important to close the gap at the moment with Chelsea. Now we are waiting but I am very happy.

“It is important that everyone in the club is so excited and the fans are unbelievable. It is impossible to feel differently.

“Our job is done now and we got the three points. Now, we see what happens tomorrow [Sunday]. Of course it will be better if they [Chelsea] fade but now our job is done and we have to wait.

“We’ve said that if they fail, we must be ready and we will be there waiting.”

Mourinho: Chelsea’s Tactics The Same One I Was Criticised For

Featured Image

Manchester United manager and former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has hit out at the media for praising the same tactics he was criticised for while at Chelsea.

The Portuguese insists the same tactics he deployed is similar to that which Conte uses at Chelsea. And while he was criticised for utilising such, Conte has received praise.

However, Mourinho did concede the points difference between his side and Chelsea is significant of which team is the better of the two.

Asked how far away United were from being the best team in the country, the Portuguese told Sky Sports: “Far… because the best team, in the Premier League, is the team with more points.

“I know you like to criticise me. When I was winning titles with Chelsea you were criticising the style of play. At the moment you don’t do it.

“Now, to be the best counter-attacking team in the country is not to be criticised; it is an amazing thing.

“The best team at the end of the season is the one who is champions and we are far from it. This season Chelsea are a much better team than us.”

Nobody’s Money And EFCC Drama – Ikenna Emewu

CLICK here to read more opinion articles

This government is smart. Too smart indeed. There is recession and many starve almost to death. The best way to know and assess the depth and height of hunger here is the highly increased number of calls you get for assistance from those that imagine your economy is better. But all of a sudden, the federal government has started implementing the 15m new jobs it promised. In fact, the first batch and possibly the most lucrative, most ready and most efficacious has taken off immediately and I bet you it doesn’t take much to invest in it.

This piece was written by Ikenna Emewu. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

Just buy yourself a whistle with as little as maybe N200, walk round the city and just put it to your mouth, push some air into it and it blows. Good enough the quantity of food you need in your tummy to blow it or walk around to spot a favourable place to commence the blow is not much either. It’s as simple as that. Meanwhile, from the way money is arrested everyday courtesy, the 5% cash reward promise by Minister Lai Mohammed for those their whistle can blow out a minimum of N1b, very soon, every mansion and home in Nigeria would turn out cash warehouse. And soon, too everywhere you go, the piercing sound of blaring whistles and the cash they blow out would drown the country in a deluge of stolen money or sorry, arrested, discovered and forfeited cash.

Wike, NIA Battle Over Ownership Of N13bn Seized By EFCC

If it’s a theatre, it has been well rehearsed and acted. From the days Senate declined Ibrahim Magu confirmation, the blares of the whistle have got as loud as they are rampant. On the last of his appearance at the Senate, a stray N49m was arrested wandering about unaccompanied at the Kaduna Airport. I think it was taken into safe custody and nobody has told us again if any relation or family member of the lost and found money has come forward for it. If none has come for it, then in which safety home has it been living? We don’t know yet. That was sometime after Andrew Yakubu house of cash was blown open in Kaduna. Last week, Lagos took her turn as the hub of the nation’s economy when an abandoned Bureau De Change was pregnant with cash.

Later it was a shop inside the Balogun Market. Again, this week, Lagos is at it. But the N15b has been subject of big dispute. It has been rumoured to belong to an Abuja former PDP national chief and another source says it is the property of a certain NNPC big boss. Alas, the biggest twist is here – that the money belongs to a Buhari minister and the National Intelligence Agency claim is stage-managed distraction. We are watching how Magu would apply his wonder skills to unravel this. The money this time has multiple parents or the whistleblowers might have done double blow and would not tell whose blow got what harvest, reason they find it hard to trace who lives in or owns the home they were found. I just quietly wish that the whistle owners that blow their trump loud won’t get into warfare on who blew what and who gets what reward.

In my little knowledge of what is the latest trend in town, may I wish and pray that the gamble on who remains in the EFCC headship with or without Senate confirmation is not part of this widespread money arrests. The police in this country have a stock of all manner of charms, arms and ammunition, axes and cutlasses. From time to time, some loitering innocent persons are gathered and paraded as owners of the guns who were dutifully caught by police. At a point a particular yellow vest became the uniform for all Boko Haram suspect arrested by the DSS. I have known Nigerians for desperately getting what they want or at worst pull down the roof in the bid to.

The money arrests have become very common song that we need to sing quietly and cautiously. I don’t want to ask when they would be declared as national income or revenue because I know nobody would answer such question, but after listening to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo declare that Magu doesn’t need Senate confirmation to be in office, I might have started guessing why the money arrests are so rampant these days. Are they the image laundering ploys to justify Magu’s stay? In Nigeria, whenever one is appointed to an office, they make the world believe that that he/she has no spare or alternative.

They refuse to ask themselves that since you are a perfect entity nobody knew your impeccable qualities until you were appointed, therefore they might still be others as perfect. So, Magu must stay because as a dictator in South America declared in the 1980s, “no leaf shakes on a tree without his consent.” The new song is that Magu is almighty. Without him in the EFCC, Nigeria comes to an end. Today, an officer called Magu is the office and like the dictatortorship in 1975, Pa Edwin Clarke as Federal Commissioner for Information sang the tune for Yakubu Gowon to transform and rule forever. That was when it all began and we are yet to outgrow sycophancy 42 years on. In fact, we get worse and mature in it because we did better with Ofonagoro and Ojo Maduekwe in Abacha days and much more in President Olusegun Obasanjo third term bid.

Today, the loudspeakers mount the podium for Magu. But we need to prove these claims because they have terribly dented Nigeria’s image worldwide. The irony is that what is announced is that Nigerians steal government money and hide in the home. The news never announces the opposition or individuals but Nigeria and Nigerians. This government in January last year announced an amount stolen from public coffers. When asked of the breakdown of the figure Minister Mohammed said we should find out via investigative reporting.

EFCC Uncovers $38m, £27k, N23m In A ‘Private Residence’ In Ikoyi (VIDEO)

He just lifted the propaganda figures Nuhu Ribadu and the rest listed in their 1001 charges against one person. In some cases, the amount attributed to one person as stolen while in office was more than the total allocation such officer got. But the world announced the figure attributed to ‘Nigeria’ not opposition. So every Nigerian outside the shores wears the ‘thief’ tag even when you never held any public office. But were monies stolen in the past administrations? No need for the question? They were stolen a billion times. Who stole those monies? Most Nigerian politicians did and they were from all parties. For instance, there was no difference in financial prudence in the state governments managed by other parties than PDP.

Then who was PDP? Is it those members who are still in PDP or does that include those 70% that migrated to form APC that fateful Saturday in Abuja which I attended the inaugural media meeting at the Yar’Adua Centre? Who then is the corrupt PDP member? It is the one that hasn’t joined the APC? I raised this issue and a friend once asked me “Is there any one of the arrested persons that never stole money.” My answer is there is hardly any. And I asked him in return that a certain eze, oba, emir made a law that all thieves in the land must be arrested and punished.

While he went about catching all real thieves outside, some thieves ran to him for safety and possibly some of his own children were known thieves. Would the fact that the outsider thieves he caught were real thieves justify the fact that he protects thieves in his domain while hunting for others? Would he ever be exculpated of the moral burden of his discriminatory implementation of his own laws? Never!

Senator Dino Melaye Escapes Death As Gunmen Raid His Kogi House

Featured Image

Senator Dino Melaye has escaped death by the whiskers after some unknown gunmen invaded his house in the early hours of Saturday at Ayetoro-Gbede in Kogi State.

The gunmen numbering about 10 arrived the house at about midnight through the bush and opened fire on the house from different directions, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Melaye (APC-Kogi West), was in his country home at Ayetoro-Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area for the Easter holiday at the time of the attack.

Confirming the invasion, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP William Aya, said the police received a distress call from the senator at about 1 a.m. and immediately responded.

However, Aya lamented that hoodlums escaped before the police arrived, thereby making arrest impossible.

The PRO also added the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, had set up an investigative committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations to unravel those behind the attack.

Narrating his ordeal, Melaye said the hoodlums arrived at about midnight and started shooting sporadically at the main building in the compound.

He said the shooting lasted for almost one hour, adding that apart from the building riddled with bullets, two of his vehicles were damaged.

The senator said he suspected Mr. Taufiq Isa, the Administrator of Ijumu Local Government, as being behind the attack – an accusation that Isa denied.

Dino said the attack was most likely due to his incessant verbal attacks on certain elements in the state.

He said: “I got a rousing welcome from Kabba to my hometown on Friday and I know it angered the power that is in the state, which mobilised for this assassination attempt on my life.

“At about midnight, we started hearing gunshots. They fired more than 200 rounds of bullets into the house. This attempt to kill me will not stop me from speaking the truth.

“If I speak the truth, I will die, if I lie, I will die. I’ve decided to speak the truth and die. I’m not afraid of death. I only respect men, I don’t fear them.

“I am championing an administrative cause. I will continue to speak and be the voice to the voiceless. I’m not deterred; I remain resolute to make Kogi better. Noting will stop me from coming home.”

He also criticised the police for not responding quickly to his distress call, saying that the house of the Divisional Police Officer in the town was very close to the scene of the shooting.

“The DPO did not come to my house until three hours later. Even the area Commander in Kabba was not notified until I called the Commissioner of Police.

“I suspect a satanic collaboration between Taufiq Isa and the police in Aiyetoro because the duo held a meeting two days ago.

“Only God will protect us in this country, but definitely not the police,” he said.

Replying swiftly to the allegation, Mr. Taufiq Isa denied having a hand in the attempt on the life of the senator.

“I’ve never been a violent man. My running battle with Dino Melaye, if any, is because I have asked him to stop vilifying the state governor, Yahaya Bello.

“Let him (Dino) prove it. I lost my uncle a week ago; I’m still attending to my sick wife and busy supervising the APC re- registration programmes.

“I’m a democrat and law abiding. I challenge Dino to prove his case,” he said.

Paul Pogba believes N’golo Kante’s strength which enables him to be everywhere on the pitch, is his best asset.

“He gets the ball and plays simple. When the manager tells him something, he will do it and he will do it perfectly.

Carrick: Frequent Draws Is Killing United

Featured Image

Manchester United captain Michael Carrick believes the constant draws by United is affecting their chances.

United have only lost one match in the last 17 matches they’ve played in all competitions, losing 1-0 to Chelsea in the FA Cup and also 4-0 to the Blues in the league.

United have drawn 12 games in the topflight, nine at Old Trafford and three away from home.

Carrick believes the numerous stalemates is hurting United’s campaign, but knows they’re on the right path with Mourinho.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s visit on Sunday, he said: “I can’t compare us to any other team, to be honest. We concentrate on ourselves. We believe we will get better. We will improve. There are a lot of good signs.

“But you look at yourselves and say if we were really struggling football-wise and were miles away then in some ways, you can’t accept it, but you can see why you are struggling.

“But we have been playing so well for so long. The draws are killing us. In some ways you are better off losing one and winning one than doing what we have been doing having drawn so many.

“But going on a run like we have done shows we have a bit of steel and have a bit of character about us.

“There are positives but at the moment it is not quite enough for us. We need that something to finish teams off. We have got to be ruthless and have to finish games off. We have to find a way. It is close, we are getting better but we still have to find that way.

“We have the quality in attack. It is disappointing if you are not creating but we are looking dangerous and I am sure it will come. As a team and a squad we are growing. We will develop that.

“We are not in a bad place but we need to find as a team a way to win games especially when you are playing so well as we have done. I don’t think we are far away.”

Eddie Howe Looking To Sign The Next ‘Dele Alli’

Featured Image

Eddie Howe admits he is scouring the lower leagues in a bid to unearth the next Dele Alli.

“We certainly do look in the lower leagues for players,” he told the Bournemouth Echo. “We would never cut off that market. I wouldn’t ever want to do that, because I know there are players who can make the step up.

“You have to remember, half of our team – maybe more than half of our team – have come from League One and the Championship. Dele Alli has proved it can still be done, coming from the lower leagues and working your way up.

“Sometimes, when a player makes that jump it can be a long time before you see him progress in the manner that Dele has – it is a credit to him that he has had the mental strength to believe he belongs at this level, and to then distinguish himself at the level.

“We did look at him but he had gone beyond us quite quickly. We were in the Championship at the time – and we talked about him when I was at Burnley as well.

“There are players we are looking at now – I wouldn’t give you names but we haven’t closed that market off to us.”

Luke Shaw Vows To Prove Jose Mourinho Wrong

Featured Image

Luke Shaw has vowed to prove Jose Mourinho wrong following theManchester United manager’s public criticism of him.

“This is my last chance, I know that, I want to go down fighting,” Shaw told Sky Sports. “If it’s not good enough it’s not good enough.

“But I believe I’m good enough to be here and play for the biggest club in the world and to help the team win trophies. I want to be playing in and winning the Champions League so I’m going to do whatever the manager tells me to do. I’m doing to give it my all because I want to be here.

“The criticism was very hard but I’ve had it before. But this time around I dealt with it better.

“When I first came to United there was a lot of discussion about me and that was hard, it was something that was new to me. I was used to positive feedback and comments in the media but coming to United everything changed, there was negativity.

“I took that badly and it knocked me down a bit but this time I’ve come back wanting to fight and I want to prove everyone wrong.”

Chelsea Captain John Terry Wanted By Dubai Club Al-Nasr

Featured Image

John Terry has the option of moving to Dubai to join UAE club Al Nasr, who are managed by former Chelsea player Dan Petrescu.

The Blues skipper is out of contract at the end of the season but is reportedly mulling over a one-year contract extension.

Petrescu told the Gulf Times newspaper: “Where will John Terry end up next season? Al Nasr. Of course, why not? I will call him and ask.”

‘I wish he was here. He’s a very good friend and a good player. I don’t know what he will do, but I wish him well. It depends on Chelsea. If they really want him he will stay, I’m sure.

‘I think he should still play on. As a central defender it shouldn’t be a problem and he is fit, so I’m sure he will play more.’

Terry has played just five times in the Premier League this season for Antonio Conte’s team, playing a minimal role for the table-toppers and FA Cup semi-finalists.

Petrescu, 49, says he is on good terms with Terry, despite admitting they’d fallen out immediately during a Chelsea training session in 1998.

The former Romania international, who also played in the Premier League for Sheffield Wednesday, Bradford City and Southampton, said: ‘Maybe it was because we fought in our first training session. We had a very bad fight.

‘I can’t take any credit for shaping his career. He made it himself, not me. I was part of a great team with him. All the team was good, not only me.’

Romelu Lukaku Twice Turned Down West Ham – Karren Brady

Featured Image

West Ham United have failed in two attempts to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

Lukaku is expected to leave Everton this summer, but his representatives have told West Ham he wants to join a club who will be playing in the Champions League next season.

Writing in her column in The Sun, West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady says: “You can’t dismiss his ambition but it’s a shame he regards such an admirable club [Everton] as little more than a stop-over.”

he wrote: “Romelu Lukaku is a classic shape for a centre-forward – big, broad and decisive.

“Not all strikers are built like Everton’s star – take Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. None are as important as Lukaku to Everton.

“We have twice tried to buy him but he wants a club playing Champions League football – and quickly.

Alvaro Morata Not A Realistic Target For Tottenham, Says Mauricio Pochettino

Featured Image

Mauricio Pochettino admits a move for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is unrealistic.

Morata claimed earlier this week that he had spoken to Pochettino last summer amid uncertainty over his long-term future in the Spanish capital.

The striker’s future is reportedly unclear at Madrid.

“The reality was that he sent a text to me when I was manager at Espanyol,” Pochettino said.

“He contacted me – it is possible to give so advice and then we kept our relationship, a good relationship.

“He’s a great kid and a very good player but it’s not realistic that situation – thinking Morata [is] for us.”

Morata has scored 11 goals in 20 La Liga appearances this season and  Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is keen to add the striker to his frontline.

Huge Alexis Sanchez Contract Could Put Arsenal ‘In Trouble’- Arsene Wenger

Featured Image

Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal will not break the bank to keep Alexis Sanchez at the club.

The Chile forward has a little over a year remaining on his current contract and his form this season has seen the likes of Paris St Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City linked with his signature.

Asked if he was concerned that paying one star player a massive figure could destabilise the team, Wenger told a news conference: “Always. But we must accept as well that modern life has changed a little bit. We always had a wage schedule that was respected, and players earn so much money now that the cases have become much more individual than global.

“But you have many different opinions there. Some people tell me, ‘just give him what he wants.’ But then you cannot respect anymore any wage structure and you put the club in trouble as well.”

Mihajlovic: Hart Wants To Stay One More Year At Torino

Joe Hart will love to stay at Torino for one more season , but the club can’t afford to keep him permanently , says Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The Manchester City goalkeeper has been on loan at Torino this season, since Guardiola signed Claudio Bravo.

On Thursday, Torino put in a request to extend Hart’s loan for another year , even though the England international has only kept three clean sheets.

Mihajlovic told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Hart wants to stay at Torino but we are all aware, both him and the club, that we can’t buy him.

“At the most we could take him on loan for another year but that depends on both Manchester City and him.

“We will need to know if Hart is going to be here next year because if he’s not then we’ll need to change the way we play.”

Wike, NIA Battle Over Ownership Of N13bn Seized By EFCC

A fresh twist has been birthed as regards to the controversy surrounding the ownership of the N13bn ($43.4m, N23m and £27,000) found by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the Osborne Towers, Ikoyi, Lagos.

It is understood that as at Friday evening, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) are claiming ownership of the money.

Wike made the claim bringing a fresh twist to the controversy over the real ownership of the money – $43,449,947, £27,800 and N23, 218,000 – and the apartment where it was recovered by the EFCC on Wednesday.

The governor said the money was part of what was stolen – and warehoused in the Ikoyi house – by his predecessor and current Minister for Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, from proceeds of sale of the state’s gas turbines to Sahara Energy.

The NIA had in the early hours of Friday said the money belonged to it.

Sources at the agency had said that the money belonged to the agency and that it had written a formal letter to President Muhammadu Buhari to claim ownership of the money.

The NIA, which is Nigeria’s foreign intelligence service, explained that the money, which was found on the seventh floor of the building, was approved by former President Goodluck Jonathan for covert operations and security projects covering a period of years.

The money was said to have been released in bits during the tenure of a former NIA director-general.

The source, who pleaded to have his name withheld, said:

“The money belongs to the NIA. It is for covert operations and security projects covering a period of years. The DG  has met with the President, he has explained everything to him. The President asked him to put everything into writing and he has done so.

“The entire chain of events was a big misunderstanding. That place was an NIA safe house and you have to understand that the NIA carries out discreet investigation in conjunction with many agencies across the world.

“On the day the EFCC men gathered around the house, the NIA reached out to Magu to explain to him that the money was the property of the Federal Government and the place was an NIA safe house. Unfortunately, the EFCC still went ahead to break down the doors.”

However, the Rivers States executive described the claim that the cash belonged to the NIA as balderdash.

“We have facts to prove that the said money belongs to the Rivers State Government,” Mr. Wike said. “The Federal Government must return our money.”

“We are giving them seven days to return our money. Otherwise, we would take legal action to recover our money. $43million will help us complete several projects. We need that money for projects.”

Full Text Of President Buhari’s Easter Message To Nigerians

Featured Image

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday enjoined all Nigerians to keep faith in his administration’s commitment and ability to change the Nigerian story for good.

In his Easter message made available to pressmen, the president said his administration was determined as never before to continue with the fight against terrorism and insurgency; sustain the peace in the Niger Delta; and restore peace and stability in other parts of the country.

Here is the full statement below:

I congratulate our Christian brothers and sisters on the celebration of this year’s Easter.

I rejoice with you on this historic occasion signifying the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, redemption over condemnation, and hope over despair.

The commemoration of this special season in Christianity, is always preceded by fasting, piety, humility, penance and prayers of intercession in the build up to the death of Jesus Christ on Good Friday, an event which reunited man with his Creator.

The message of Easter is filled with themes of love, faith, sacrifice, dedication, commitment, fulfilment of prophecy, hope, expectation and victory, as espoused in the Scriptures and the teachings and lifestyle of Jesus Christ.

As we celebrate yet another Easter, I urge all Nigerians to live peacefully with one another and do their utmost to make Nigeria a beautiful place to reside.

In the almost two years of this administration, we have worked hard to meet the expectations of Nigerians by improving security, especially in the North-East, sustaining the campaign against corruption and have taken steps to revitalize the economy.

We are determined as never before to continue with the fight against terrorism and insurgency; sustain the peace in the Niger Delta through engagements with stakeholders; and restore peace and stability in other parts of the country.

It is in our collective interest to live in peace because without peace, no meaningful and sustainable development can take place. Lack of peace in one part affects in one way or the other, all parts of the country. Our people must rediscover the values of peaceful co-existence, social justice, religious tolerance, dignity of labour and patriotism.

I enjoin all Nigerians to keep faith in the determination and ability of this administration to change the Nigerian story for the good of all.

I wish all Nigerians happy Easter celebrations.

MUHAMMADU BUHARI

Conte: I Have No Problem With Mourinho

Featured Image

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte is insisting he has no problems with Jose Mourinho, despite earlier clashes with the Portuguese.

Both managers have clashed on the sidelines of the last two meetings between the two clubs.

Mourinho took offence at Conte’s attitude in the 4-0 loss to Chelsea at Old Trafford and the Italian manager was not too happy with how Hazard was treated in the 1-0 win over United in the FA Cup.

“I have zero problem,” he said. “It’s a sporting competition between me and him.

“There is a game of football and I want to win with my team, he wants to win with his team. It’s normal to be in conflict during the game but only a sporting conflict.

“It’s very simple, the conflict is the game. It’s not a friendly game, both teams want the three points and for this reason you fight to win.

“Do I like the conflict? No, I don’t like it. I prefer to concentrate on my team. But sometimes it’s normal for me and the other coach to have this situation. But do I like it? No.”

Guardiola: Bravo Shouldn’t Be Blamed Whenever He Concedes

Featured Image

Pep Guardiola has blamed the defence for the goalkeeping woes suffered by Claudio Bravo, saying the defenders failed to defend.

Claudio Bravo has not had a brilliant debut season in the premier league and was benched after conceding six goals, from six shots on target.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper conceded his seventh goal in the match against Hull City and Guardiola has blamed his defence.

“The problem when we concede goals is not the goalkeeper – it’s not Claudio, it’s not Willy,” he insisted. “So the problem with the goal against Hull was six players didn’t want to defend. There was a corner, a second ball and six players said ‘OK, that’s not my business’. We defended in the box four against six.

“The problem is not the goalkeepers. Everyone can make mistakes, make a good save, a lot of players miss clear, clear goals.”
