Featured Image

The Portuguese defender confirmed he would be leaving the club when his contract expires, after he was offered a one-year extension instead of the two years he wanted.

And Pepe has noe picked today to say his goodbyes to the Santiago Bernabeu and its fans.

The 34-year-old wrote on Instagram: “On July 12, 2007 I arrived at Real Madrid with the illusion of a boy who arrived where he had dreamed every day of his childhood.

“Today, 10 years later, I have to stop wearing this badge. Every day I wore this shirt, I did it with the illusion of always.

“Today I can only thank all of you who have supported me, that you have written this beautiful story with me. Thanks to each one of you, who accompanied me. Thanks to all the friends and colleagues I know will stay wherever I go.

“I say goodbye also to this city, which has seen the birth and growth of my daughters. I am very happy for what I have achieved and I will carry your affection in the heart!

“And I say it again … The best of these 10 years ??? To train every day, to live with each and every one of the employees of this club … Treading the Santiago Bernabeu and feeling your support was always magic!

“In my heart I keep your affection, and this feeling of duty fulfilled … Real Madrid and your affection will always be part of my history, my life! Thanks and Until Always! “.

Lukaku Confirms Agreement With Another PL Club

Featured Image

Romelu Lukaku is set to leave Everton, as he has reached an agreement with another club in the Premier League.

The Belgium international did not mention the club in question or when the move will be confirmed, but says he is settled now that he knows what the future holds for him.

Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ while on international duty, Lukaku said: “My agent knows what’s going to happen and I know as well.

“I’m staying calm and we have an agreement with the club as well. We stay calm and at least we have a direction where we want to go.

“I’m just going to rest for a few days and then just prepare for next season. I want to put the time in on my holiday to take everything to another level and be better than I was last year.”

He told Belgium newspaper HLN: “We are now talking to the club. The most important thing is I want to win trophies.

“What I would like most is to play in the Champions League and to try and win the Premier League once – or better, a few times. That would be the most beautiful thing.

“That’s important for my progress as a player. I don’t want to stay at the same level. I want to improve and I know where I want to do that.”

Defoe Confirms Bournemouth Switch

Featured Image

Sunderland and England striker, Jermain Defoe has confirmed he will be returning to Bournemouth on the summer.

Sunderland were relegated from the Premier League this season, despite exploits from Defoe, who scored 15 goals.

A clause in the striker’s contract gives him the freedom to interact with other clubs should Sunderland relegate, which is what happened.

He told BBC Radio Five Live: “It’s out there, a lot of people obviously knew, I did a medical and said when this is finished and I’ve had a break, come July everyone will know anyway.

“Two and a bit years at Sunderland, I enjoyed my time there, it’s not nice when you get relegated, I don’t think its fair on the Sunderland fans to come out so soon after they’ve been relegated and say ‘yeah, I’m signing for someone else’.

“It’s too soon to put it out there. At the right time, I would like to say ‘this is the club I’ll be playing for’.”

Luciano Spalletti Confirms He Is To Become Inter Milan’s Next Manager

Featured Image

Luciano Spalletti claims “everything is in place” for him to become the next coach of Inter Milan.

The former Roma boss was spotted alongside Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio leaving Malpensa Airport in Milan on Tuesday.

Spalletti and Ausilio are reportedly bound for China to hold talks with representatives from Suning Group, the company which owns the Nerazzurri.

“Everything is in place,” Spalletti told journalists waiting at the airport, quoted by the Italian press.

“We’ve shaken hands, we’re old fashioned and we do things with a handshake. We’ll need to arrange a press conference. I am happy to be coach of Inter.”

Spalletti left Roma last week after guiding the Giallorossi to second place in Serie A and securing automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League.

The deal is reportedly for two years and worth 4 million euros (£3.5m) per season.

The move was widely expected, considering Spalletti’s relationship with Inter sporting director Walter Sabatini, who also recently joined from Roma.

Spalletti told press that ‘Sabatini is a great person and also capable at his job, which makes things easy.’

JUST IN: Senate Orders Investigation Into Buhari’s $1bn Ogoni Land Cleanup Project

Featured Image

The Senate on Tuesday initiated plans to probe the President Muhamadu Buhari’s Ogoni land cleanup as the legislature directed its committee on environment to investigate the implementation of the cleanup.

It is understood that the exercise, which was launched in 2016, is estimated to cost over $1 billion.

The decision of the Senate followed a motion moved by Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, Chairman, Senate Committee on Environment to mark the World Environment Day.

During plenary, the senate directed its committee to also assess the progress of the Great Green Wall programme initiated to control desertification in the country.

While moving the motion, Sen. Tinubu expressed dismay that despite the launch of the project, work has not commenced in the area.

Also lending voice on the matter, Sen. Magnus Abe agreed with her, as he said that there was nothing on ground yet to show that the clean up was designed to actually cleanup the area.

He said that farmlands were still polluted while rivers of oil spills still abound.

Abe urged the Federal Government to review the country environmental regeneration programmes to take care of environmental issues in the country..

Ogoni land is located in Rivers State on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea, east of the city of Port Harcourt.

It extends across the Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Khana, Gokhana, Eleme and Tae.

In a 2011 assessment of over 200 locations in Ogoniland by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), it was found that impacts of the 50 years of oil production in the region extended deeper than previously thought.

Due to oil spills, oil flaring, and waste discharge, the alluvial soil of the Niger Delta is no longer viable for agriculture.

Manchester United Open To Selling Adnan Januzaj

Featured Image

Manchester United are willing to listen to offers for Adnan Januzajthis summer, according to ESPN.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Sunderland, and United are reportedly looking for around £8-12m for the Belgian.

Januzaj still has a year left on the five-year United deal David Moyes sanctioned in October 2013.

However, he could still be part of the squad for United’s preseason tour of the United States in July if the club do not receive a suitable offer.

Andreas Pereira, who spent last season on loan at Granada, is also expected to be part of the party that travels to Los Angeles on July 9, but with a more realistic chance to earning a place in next season’s squad.

Januzaj was an unused substitute for Sir Alex Ferguson’s final game in charge against West Bromwich Albion in 2013 before making his breakthrough under Moyes.

He scored four goals in 35 games as a teenager during the 2013-14 season, but fell out of favour under Moyes’ successor Louis van Gaal.

Januzaj played 21 times during Van Gaal’s first season before being loaned to Borussia Dortmund at the start of the 2015-16 campaign.

Stefano Pioli Appointed New Fiorentina Manager

Featured Image

Fiorentina have appointed Stefano Pioli as their new boss with the former Inter Milan manager replacing Paulo Sousa on an initial two-year contract.

Pioli was sacked by Inter in May after lasting just six months in the San Siro job but he has quickly returned to work in Serie A with Viola.

The 51-year-old is a former Fiorentina captain and made 156 appearances for the club between 1989 and 1995.

“The coach will be officially unveiled to the media at a press conference at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Wednesday,” a statement on the club’s website read.

The club also announced that the new boss will be meeting fans at Store Stadio Viale Manfredo Fanti in Florence for those who wish to greet the new coach. A nice gesture from Pioli and the club.

It’s been no secret that this has been on the cards for a while now. For a long time it looked like it could have been Eusebio Di Francesco or even Luciano Spalletti taking over from Paulo Sousa.

The board clearly stated they wanted an Italian manager and they’ve got their wish. Here’s hoping he can emulate the work he did with Lazio and it can be a more successful few years under Pioli’s leadership.

A source at St Mary’s has said that the club has concluded a number of transfers with Liverpool in recent years but feel that this time they have overstepped the mark in trying to convince the player to move and they want PL to look into whether any rules have been broken.

Southampton have made it clear to the Premier League that they have received no official approach from Liverpool for Van Dijk and, more generally, they have stressed that the player has five years to run on his contract, meaning they are in a strong position regarding his future.

Last month, Southampton chairman Ralph Krueger told PA Sport the club could turn down even a £60 million bid for Van Dijk.

“Can we? Yes,” Krueger said. “We do not need to sell any player for the first time since I’ve been here.”

Van Dijk missed the final five months of the season after sustaining an ankle injury following a challenge by Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy in Southampton’s 3-0 winat St Mary’s on 22 January.

360Fresh: Cill – Baby Girl (Prod. Johnny Drille)

Featured Image

Fast rising soul/RnB singer Chioma Ogbonna popularly known as Cill has released her brand new single titled ”Baby Girl”.

‘Baby Girl’ is very close to my heart and I hope everyone feels in some way what I felt making this song with Mavin Record’s artist, Johnny Drille. Sometime in my life I felt lost and needed to find my own place and knew my choices could take me farther from home and I lose the sense of direction. I put myself in my mother’s place and imagined what she felt about me leaving and how heartbroken she could have been.

I like to tell stories of life, of love (lost or found) of nature, of places you have never been, of places only the mind has been, and of places everyone should go to.

With a voice that strikes a cord in your soul and lyrics laced with deep meaning, my music brings a blend of rock, soul, country and splashes of ‘Africanness’. This song is one of the most refreshing things you will ever hear’. – CILL

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Christian Pulisic says he not looking for a move to the Premier League any time soon, and has praised departing manager Thomas Tuchel for his impact on the 18-year-old’s career.

“It was the biggest league I followed as a kid and watched. The league has a lot of players, and teams, I liked in the Premier League,” Christian Pulisic told American outlet NBC Sports.

“Right now, it is not something I am looking to get into immediately or anything like that. I am happy at Dortmund and I am excited for the rest of my career.

“I was very thankful for everything he [Tuchel] did for me, giving me the chance at such a young age and getting a start to my professional soccer career.

“It is something I will always remember him for and I am very thankful for that. It is tough when it happens in professional sports but now he is gone I think the team will be just fine with whoever we end up getting.”

Tuchel’s last game in charge was a 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the DFB Pokal final, Pulisic’s first trophy as a professional and one that will linger long in his memory.

“It was really special, especially after a tough season like that with a lot of ups and downs,” said Pulisic. “To finish it with a trophy was just a really good feeling. Just to see the excitement on [my teammates’] faces after that was just really amazing to me.”
