Allegri: Higuain Is Great, But Needs To Improve In Europe

Juventus gaffer, Massimiliano Allegri has praised Gonzalo Higuain as an extraordinary player , but believes he can still improve.

The Argentina international scored a brace in the 2-0 win over AC Milan, taking his tally of goals in the Serie A to 101.

And Allegri was very impressed with Higuain’s performance and boost in form, but wants more from him.

“Higuain is currently fit because he has worked a lot during the international break and he normally works with a lot of intensity during those sessions,” he told a news conference.

“When it’s like this, one feels better, runs more, smiles more. It’s the same for people like me who don’t practice sports anymore but if we feel fit, we are not overburdened, we feel lighter and we don’t fall asleep. We smile more, we feel better and brighter.

“And the same goes for footballers. If one feels well, things become a lot easier.

“Especially because Gonzalo is a great player – he is technically very gifted, he is extraordinary.

“But he must not stop, he still needs to improve his condition, he needs to raise the bar especially in Europe.”

Conte Backs Misfiring Morata

Featured Image

Antonio Conte has come to the aid of misfiring Chelsea striker, Alvaro Morata and believes he needs more time, as he is still recovering from injury.

Morata missed a glorious one on one opportunity, had a goal ruled out for offside and Begovic saved one, all in the first half of the 1-0 win over Bournemouth.

However, the Spain international provided the assist for Hazard. And Conte was satisfied with his display.

“Honestly, I’m happy with his commitment, his desire, his will to fight,” Conte said of Morata at his post-match media conference.

“For sure, he can do better but, don’t forget, he is recovering from a muscular problem.

“When you have this type of problem, it needs a bit of time to come back to the best physical condition.

“But I’m very happy with his performance. He recovered very important balls a lot of times in transition.”

Max Crocombe, 24, shown red in the 87th minute of the National League North game.

“He was told by the steward twice not to do it and he went ahead and had a pee,” said Park Avenue secretary Colin Barker.

Crocombe later apologised, saying he has been in an “uncomfortable position” and made “an error in judgment”.

Writing on his Twitter account, he added: “My intention was never to offend anyone and I’d like to apologise to both clubs and sets of supporters.”

A spectator made a formal complaint and the incident was reported to the police.

Barker added: “He went to the side of the stand as I understand it. I didn’t actually see it, but the referee definitely sent him off for it because he was alerted to it by his linesman.”
