Eminem And Beyonce Thrill Social Media With New Song “Walk On Water”

Featured Image

One of rap’s biggest superstars, Eminem, is back with a new song “Walk on Water,” and his surprise release on Friday features none other than Beyoncé – adding royal flair to an already hotly-anticipated new drop.

“Walk on Water” has Queen Bey singing, “I walk on water/But I ain’t no Jesus/I walk on water/But only when it freezes” — as Eminem spits bars about the pressures of his life and career.

If you listen carefully and closely, you can hear the sounds of Eminem writing and ripping up paper in the background.

Sharing the track on social media, Eminem wrote, “I’MMM BACK #WalkonWater #Revival @Beyonce #ShadyBack,” alongside an image of the single’s artwork: a black and white photo of a crowd, partially submerged by blue water.

“Walk on Water” is a soaring, emotionally resonant step in the return to the spotlight of one of rap’s boldest voices.

The Detroit rapper started teasing the song earlier in the week with a cryptic Instagram post featuring a fake prescription medication note.

It’s part of a campaign for a forthcoming untitled album that includes a website for a faux medication of the same name.

Meanwhile, the new Eminem/Beyoncé collaboration has ignited a firestorm on Twitter.

Manchester City winger, Leroy Sane believes Pep Guardiola’s winning mentality plays a vital role maintaining the club’s strength.

Manchester City has blazed to the top of the Premier League table, leading closest rival, United with eight points.

Guardiola has also led Manchester City through to the knockout stages of the UCL and the quarterfinals of the League Cup and Sane believes his mentality helps the club.

“He [Guardiola] wants to win every game we play, it doesn’t matter what competition,” Sane told Manchester City’s official website.

“He wants to win trophies, so it’s very good when you have a coach like him. He also has a lot of experience which he shares with us.

“Also, he wants every player to improve. Every training session he tries to help every player, make them better.”

“Every player knows that if they don’t give their best, to keep their level high, there is another player who is also very good who deserved to play,” he added.

“That’s why it’s good for every player to have this pressure, to get better and play well every game, which helps the whole team.”

5 Nigerians Jailed In London Over £610,000 Banking Fraud

Featured Image

Inner London Crown Court has sentenced five Nigerians to various jail terms over the theft of £610,000 from business bank accounts.

According to Newham Recorder, Victor Oke, 39, of Galleons Drive, Barking, used stolen data provided by Desmond Uyiosa Abifade, 25, of Henniker Road, Stratford, to falsely impersonate company directors via telephone banking.

Once Oke gained access, he diverted funds to ‘mule’ beneficiary accounts monitored by Moses Kuye, 28, of Connaught Road, Silvertown.

Melinda Mensah-Oke, 37, also of Galleons Drive, impersonated company directors when a female voice was necessary, while Arinola Kuye, 27, also of Connaught Road, acted as the group’s money launderer.

They were caught after being spotted by fraud investigators at HSBC, who passed the case to the dedicated card and payment crime unit (DCPCU) to investigate.

The DCPCU is sponsored by the banking industry and made up of officers from the City of London Police and the Metropolitan Police Service, bank investigators and support staff from UK Finance.

Police were able to analyse when and where the calls were made to identify the phones used and from there, the perpetrators.

All five were charged with conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation, which they pleaded not guilty to.

On Wednesday, Oke was sentenced to four years in prison, while Moses Kuye was jailed for three years and three months.

Mensah-Oke received a fourteen month suspended sentence and Abifade a two year suspended sentence.

Arinola Kuye was given a 12-month community order and instructed to complete 50 hours of unpaid work.

DC Dave Cass, who investigated the case for the DCPCU said: “This was a concerted effort to commit fraud against two companies and profit from crime.

“The police take fraud very seriously and these sentences should send a message to fraudsters that you will be caught and punished.”

All losses were refunded to the genuine business account holders.

Patrice Evra Banned From UEFA Club Competitions Until 2018

Featured Image

Patrice Evra has been banned from all Uefa club matches until June 2018 after kicking a fan in the head.

Patrice Evra clashed with supporters before the Europa League fixture with Vitoria de Guimaraes, and aimed an acrobatic attack at one supporter

Evra was subjected to jeers from the away end in Portugal for about half an hour before the altercation, witnesses said.

The former Manchester United defender who was due to be on the substitutes bench for the game, was shown a red card by the referee despite the game not having even started.

He was fined 10,000 euros (£8,829).

It means he misses Marseille’s two remaining Europa League group matches and the knock-out phase if they progress that far.

Patrice Evra is also currently suspended by his club, although is expected to shortly return to the fray in domestic competition.

I Have Improved Since Neymar Left Barcelona – Jordi Alba

Featured Image

Jordi Alba has claimed that Neymar’s exit to Paris Saint-Germain has only helped him regain his confidence.

Jordi Alba had struck up a partnership with Neymar on the left flank, but the full-back has said that the Brazilian’s departure has left him with more space and belief to play his natural game.

The 28-year-old told Mundo Deportivo: “He is a great player who, due to his circumstances or feelings or thoughts, decided to leave.

“In the end, there are still many more guys who can do a good job and I am delighted with the people there. As I said before, I have more space to run into and honest, for me, it’s much better.

“I have regained confidence. With more space on the left I am very comfortable and that is demonstrated in the field. I’m enjoying it in a way I haven’t for a long time.”

Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Benfica attacker Umaro Embalo. The 16-year-old Guinean-born forward, who can play as a striker and on the right-wing, has been likened to Angel Di Maria and has impressed with the Portugal Under-17 side. (Record)

Spain

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata believes Neymar may join Real Madrid after he has won trophies with Paris Saint-Germain. The Brazilian signed for the Ligue 1 side in a world record £198m deal in the summer but there have been reports recently that all is not well at the Parc des Princes, with Neymar falling out with Edinson Cavani and manager Unai Emery. (El Larguero)

Meanwhile, Sergio Ramos has thrown the door open for a potential move for Neymar in the summer by saying that Real Madrid are open to signing anyone. “I like to have the best and it’s clear Neymar is one of them,” the Los Blancos defender said. “Maybe it was easier for him to go to PSG, instead of directly to Real Madrid.” (Cadena Ser)

However, in a sensational report, Sport claim Neymar has asked Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez whether Barcelona would take him back. The Brazilian recently paid his old team-mates a visit and supposedly floated the idea of him making an extraordinary return to the Camp Nou by them. (Sport)

Barcelona legend Xavi has confirmed his plans to retire at the end of the season and says he is considering going into coaching. “I have had the luck of not having injuries and I think my career has gone down progressively,” the 37-year-old said. “I have the idea of getting a licence and becoming a coach next year.” (MARCA)

Barca pair Messi and Suarez pushed the Catalan club to sign Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho in the summer. The Brazilian was a Barcelona transfer target throughout the summer window but, despite several sizeable bids, a deal never materialised. But Suarez, who remains good friends with Coutinho after their time together at Anfield, is hopeful the club will return with a bid for the midfielder in January. (Mundo Deportivo)

Several senior Real Madrid players have spoken to coach Zinedine Zidane about their growing dissatisfaction with Cristiano Ronaldo. Isco, Marco Asensio, Dani Ceballos, Lucas Vazquez and Marcos Llorente have expressed their frustration at Ronaldo’s belief he is ‘untouchable’ at the Bernabeu. Captain Sergio Ramos recently publicly disagreed with the Portugal international over his assertion that the club misses Pepe, Morata and James Rodriguez, who were all sold in the summer. (Diario Gol)

PSG and Manchester United are set to go head-to-head in a race to sign Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos and Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak. (El Chiringuito)

Italy

Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini believes Pep Guardiola’s style of football has ruined Italian defending. The Italy international highlights Guardiola’s renowned brand of football, which features high pressing and fluid attacks, as the reason defenders no longer know how to mark strikers. “Guardiolismo has ruined Italian defences,” the 33-year-old said. “When I was young they trained me to feel the man, mark them well in the box – now that doesn’t exist. Now Italian defences leave everyone free.” (Tuttosport)

Roma starlet Lorenzo Pellegrini has emerged as a Chelsea and Manchester United transfer target. The 21-year-old midfielder moved to the Giallorossi from Sassuolo in the summer and has impressed recently, being touted as a future star of the Italy national team. (Calciomercato)

Juventus are pursuing the signing of AC Milan midfielder Manuel Locatelli. The 19-year-old broke through last season and is considered one of the most promising young players in European football. (Calciomercato)

France

PSG have made Chelsea boss Antonio Conte a managerial target. While Jose Mourinho has also been linked with a switch to Paris, the Italian – who is strongly tipped to leave Stamford Bridge before the start of next season – is preferred to the Portuguese coach. PSG have made initial contact with Conte and are keen to appoint the former Juventus manager if Emery fails to reach the Champions League semi-final. (Le Parisien)

Arsenal transfer target Nabil Fekir has vowed never to join PSG because of his love for Lyon, but admits a move to either Spain or England could tempt him in the future. The 24-year-old playmaker has been in scintillating form with Les Gones this season, scoring 11 goals. “Spain and England, those are the two most attractive leagues,” Fekir said. “They love football. From a technical point of view, it is neat. It is the best!” (Le Parisien)

Germany

Germany’s team sports director Oliver Bierhoff has fuelled speculation that Liverpool and Tottenham transfer target Leon Goretzka is set for a Premier League move by saying the player is moving to England. Bierhoff was addressing a press conference in which he was talking about the success of England at youth level and appeared to let slip that the much sought-after Schalke midfielder would be joining his compatriot Leroy Sane in England.

“We feel that England, because of the amount of money you have with TV rights, young talented players like Leroy Sane and [Schalke’s] Leon Goretzka are moving to England and this is not good for our league but also for the quality of our game,” Bierhoff said.

Another ASUU Strike Looms In Varsities – NASU, SSANU, NAAT Also Prepare To Down Tools

Featured Image

Indications have emerged that academic activities across Nigerian Universities may soon paralyze as the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is planning to hold its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

The NEC, which is the highest decision making body of the union, is to review Federal government’s implementation of the Memorandum of Action (MoA) it signed with the union before it suspended its strike a few months ago.

This is just as three non-academic unions in the university have also declared their interest for a fresh strike over the non-implementation of agreements reached with the Federal Government.

The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU), National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) and Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) are slated to meet next Tuesday to pick a date for the industrial action, Nigerian Guardian reports.

The unions declared that it is unfazed by the by government’s plan to implement its ‘no work, no pay’ policy when the strike eventually begins.

Speaking on behalf of the unions, President of SSANU, Samson Ugwoke, lamented that the government had failed to implement all the agreements it entered into with the unions to call off an earlier strike.

His words: “We have issues like Earned Allowances, short falls in salary, staff schools’ matter, non-implementation of the judgment of the National Industrial Court which we got against the Federal Government to recall all teachers among others.

“From January to September, the Federal Government did not do anything as regards the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) signed in January and that necessitated our second strike which was indefinite.

“We entered into an MoU on salary shortfalls, a development that has never happened before in the university system where staff are paid fractional salaries.

“We objected to that and the Federal Government promised us the money. Information reaching me shows that up till now, not all the universities have received the shortfall.”

Meanwhile, it is understood that in September, the federal government and ASUU had signed an agreement, as a result of the strike action embarked upon by the union to press for the implementation of the memorandum of understanding it entered into between both parties in 2013 as well as the 2009 agreement.

During the signing of the agreement, a timeline of October 2017 was reached between both parties for the implementation of some components of the agreement, especially the payment of shortfall in salaries and Earned Academic Allowances.

However, as of November 2017, investigations showed that the government was yet to implement issuance of license for the registration of Nigerian University Pension Company (NUPEMCO), which it promised to do within two weeks of strike suspension.

The FG is also defaulting in payment of ‘Earned Academic Allowances and revatilisation funds’ for public universities.

Daily Post reports that some lecturers at the University of Ibadan, who spoke with journalists on the condition of anonymity, last weekend, noted that it was unfortunate that the government had not paid as promised by end of October.

They said they had asked their leadership not to suspend the strike until the government paid the money as promised but didn’t heed their advice.

Based on the tension generated on campuses, ASUU President Professor Biodun Ogunyemi sent a mail to all the members to douse the tension over the payment of earned academic allowances

“Dear Comrades, the leadership of the union is aware of the palpable tensions on our campuses over the delay in the payment of Earned Academic Allowances (EAA).

“It is therefore not a surprise that for the past three days, a circular dated 24 October, 2017 related to EAA is already trending on some social media network/platforms. The leadership of the union can say categorically that the gaps/Omissions in the said circular were addressed at a meeting with the Honourable Minister of Education last weekend. We have gone far on the matter and there should be results in a matter of days. Thank you”, he wrote.

She is pitched against Tanzanian love singers Feza, Lady Jaydee, and Nandy. Uganda’s Juliana Kanyomozi is a music big fish who will clash Kenya’s Victoria Kimani despite her West African and East African base. The singer and TV celeb, Chess Nthussi is also nominated alongside Ethiopian Grammy nominee, Wayna Wondwossen.  The rest is up against Diamond Platnumz who might add another AFRIMA award to his shelf this year? The multiple AFRIMA winner is up against his fellow Tanzanian arch rival, Ali Kiba. The Kenyan DJ and Pop star, Mura KE, and Hip Hop star, Octopizzo are also going to challenge the Tanzanian. Other stars in this category are Kibrom Birhane, Sinishaw Legesse and Henok & Mehari Brothers from Ethiopia and Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo.

West Africa boasts of a huge media presence, crisp videos and ecletic sounds. The Nigerian music divas on the list, Aramide, Seyi Shay, Tiwa Savage, and Yemi Alade will contend with Ghanaian pop-star, Becca, Malian Grammy Award winner, Oumo Sangare and Senegalese Pop-singer, Viviane Chidid, to prove which star has the most dynamic voice to win the gold trophy.  Nigerian Arch-rivals, Wizkid and Davido may have yet another face-off at AFRIMA. Other stars ready to upturn the game are Cote D’ivoire’s DJ Arafat, Guinea’s MHD, Nigeria’s Mr Eazi, Runtown, Tekno and Ycee.

The Female and Male music stars from Northern Africa may have the advantage of votes from their rave ratings on Youtube. These northern artistes trump their regional counterparts with popularity as huge as Algerian singer, Cheba Maria’s 4 million views to French Montana’s 487 million views.

Morata Open To Madrid Return

Featured Image

Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has revealed that returning to Real Madrid in the future is a notion he is open to.

The Spain international left Real Madrid in the summer for Chelsea and has scored seven goals in the League.

Morata insists he is happy at Chelsea, but says returning to Madrid, would be hard for him to refuse.

When asked if he would consider moving back to Madrid in the future, Morata told Cadena SER: “Of course I would go back [to Real Madrid]. After winning everything with Chelsea and making a great career here… well, why not?

“It’s very difficult to say ‘no’ to Real Madrid for a Real Madrid fan like me. But I don’t believe it can happen, honestly, but who knows. I don’t think about it because I’m very happy in London.

“I prefer that they [Madrid] miss me more as a person than as a player. I think they have a good team, Madrid [as a club] is always more important than each player.”

He added: “I appreciate that he told me to stay after returning from Juve. We won La Liga and the Champions League – great titles. I told him I had to fight for my future.

“I played many matches but [only] in the Champions League qualifiers, for 10 minutes. I wanted to leave to be more important. Like next year if I’m doing badly, and I hope not, Chelsea could sell me and I would have to go to a smaller team.

“The easy thing would have been to stay, comfortable [in Madrid] and without the pressure to be a starter. I wish I could have stayed, I did not have a bad time last year as has been said, but I did not play against any top team. I told Zinedine Zidane and he understood me, I am very grateful.”

Mavin Act, Johnny Drille Battles Fungal Infection, Forced To Cut Signature Hair (PHOTO)

Featured Image

Mavin’s act, Johnny Drille, has been forced to cut his signature afro hair as result of fungal infection.

Sharing a photo of his new look on Instagram, the singer disclosed that the infection slowly caused his hair to break, creating scanty patches on his scalp.

The singer who wasn’t sure whether the infection is caused by infected hotel bedsheet or unhealthy clipper from stylists share this emotional epistle below;

This will be a long read, so forgive me!
Some of you may have noticed I didn’t have my ‘signature’ hair at some point this year. Well, I had a terrible condition called fungal infection that slowly caused my hair to break, creating scanty patches on my scalp.

Around January I noticed I had scales on my face but didn’t pay it any attention until it spread to my scalp and ears. I probably got it from a barber shop or hotel bedsheets that weren’t properly washed. I would spend the next two months assuming it was dandruff and trying to treat that. I saw that I was losing a lot of my hair and it was then I realized it wasn’t at all dandruff but something terrible.

I had a dermatologist check and he diagnosed it as fungal infection and prescribed the drugs.
Treating it has hands down been the hardest thing I’ve done this year. I had to shave all of my remaining hair to properly treat it. I can remember leaving the barber shop with my friend Obji and hating the guy I saw in the mirror, me. I was going to stay indoors for the next few weeks and go out only a few times aided by face caps and hats. I dreaded taking tablets prior as I’d rather just let my immune system fight whatever I was down with, but this time it was inescapable, I had to take dem pills. Treatment also didn’t come cheap, a Terbinafine pack of 14 tablets sold for NGN17, 000 and I must have have taken around 6 packs of those. One mistake I made was not being faithful to dosage; at times I missed a dosage and woke up to more fungus on my face and hair the next morning. Another mistake I made was not correctly diagnosing it but assuming it was nothing serious.

Last week I took the last tablet of Terbinafine and I can now boldly say I’m totally free from that stubborn fungal infection that plagued me the most of this year. I also learned to take medication by myself (my mum or sister would usually force me to take pills then). It’s a pretty boring story but I wanted to share it so in case you experience something like this or anything suspicious, you should take action asap and not wait for it to get out of control.

Mario Balotelli Handed One Match Ban For Red Card Vs Dijon

Featured Image

Nice striker Mario Balotelli has been banned for one match after he was sent off for a late tackle in the closing stages of his team’s 1-0 win over Dijon

After scoring the only goal of the game, Mario Balotelli was shown a red for his challenge.

Balotelli converted a 39th-minute penalty for his sixth league goal of the season after Alassane Plea was brought down by Jordan Marie.

But his afternoon ended on a sour note when he was shown a straight red card for a tackle from behind on defender Cedric Yambere.

The French Football League’s Disciplinary Commission, sitting on Thursday, imposed a two-game ban but suspended one of those matches.

It means Balotelli will miss the league meeting with Caen on Nov. 19 but is available for the visit of Lyon a week later.

“I’m happy with this punishment,” Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere said.

“We saw the pictures again and you can see the foul is minor, that Mario has no intention of tripping someone up but wants to get the ball to Alassane [Plea].

“The disciplinary commission is always willing to listen and they let us express ourselves.

“They listened to the player and took their decision with the impartiality that characterises them.”

I Had To Leave Chelsea To Get Playing Time – Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Featured Image

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has revealed that he had a ‘quite a strong vision’ to leave Chelsea due to a lack of playing time.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek grew frustrated at constantly being overlooked for regular selection at Chelsea and moved to Crystal Palace on loan last summer

Loftus-Cheek was granted a season-long loan with Palace and has since been rewarded, having earned a call-up to the England squad after featuring in seven of the Eagles’ 11 Premier League games this term.

“I had a vision and it became quite strong that I wanted to go from Chelsea,” he told reporters. “I felt like I needed to play a lot, so I came in and said I wanted to go away from Chelsea and play games. So we came to an agreement.

“You can only improve so much in training. Games and training are completely different. So for me to get to that next level I needed to play regular football. I thought it was the best decision to go from Chelsea to play and develop myself which looks like being a good thing.”

Loftus-Cheek is expected to make his senior England debut in Friday night’s friendly with Germany at Wembley Stadium.

Sam Allardyce Reveals He’s Very Interested In Managing The US Men National Team

Featured Image

Sam Allardyce says he is interested in becoming the next manager of the United States national team.

“Yes, I would go I think, but I think there’s a president elect in January [sic] which has stalled the process, so if I got the opportunity to speak to the U.S. then I would look forward to that,” Sam Allardyce told talkSPORT.

“International football is totally different from Premier League football. It’s 10 games a year and there’s a huge amount of downtime for yourself to go and watch the players and all that, but it’s not the same day-to-day pressures you get in the Premier League.

“Wherever they say you’ve got to base yourself is where you base yourself. I’ve always loved the States since I’ve been going for many, many years, and I played there. I played there for Tampa Bay Rowdies and had a terrific time by the way.”

I Never Considered Quitting Liverpool – Alberto Moreno

Featured Image

Alberto Moreno insists he did not think about leaving Liverpool after the Merseyside giants signed Andrew Robertson.

Alberto Moreno who has just earned a recall to the Spanish national team after a good start to the season, was tipped to leave Anfield earlier this year after managing only two league starts in 2016/17, with James Milner preferred at left-back.

Things looked even more bleak for Moreno’s Liverpool prospects when Robertson joined the club from Hull City, but the Spaniard insists he did not contemplate leaving Merseyside.

When asked if he thought about leaving Liverpool after the arrival of Robertson, he told Marca: “My idea was to stay, to work and to win [back] my place. I saw myself as capable. I spoke to [Jurgen] Klopp, he told me that he could not promise me anything, to work, and that they were going to a sign a No.3 (left-back).

“There I thought that something was wrong. I spoke to my people and they told me to work, to start from scratch and then we’ll see. And here we are.”
