Arsenal Needs Mesut Ozil – Olivier Giroud

Featured Image

Olivier Giroud has insisted Arsenal players have never doubted Mesut Ozil, and said the midfielder has shown his commitment to the club in recent weeks.

You cannot be at the top level all the time,” said Giroud. “Sometimes people expect the best from you every single game because you are a top player. I can understand that. But we never had any doubts about his quality, that is for sure.”

He added: “He is a top player and we need him.

“He makes the best choice most of the time. He knows when he has to pass the ball or to shoot and when you are in a good position you always think he thinks assist before scoring, even if he scored tonight.

“I am very happy for him. He is our playmaker and is a key player.”

Mesut Ozil was in sensational form against Huddersfield on Wednesday night as he scored a goal and made two others in the space of four minutes.

It is the first time in Ozil’s Premier League career he had a hand in three goals in one match.

Sam Allardyce Confirmed As The New Manager Of Everton

Featured Image

Everton have confirmed the appointment of Sam Allardyce as their new manager.

Allardyce has succeeded Ronald Koeman, who was sacked more than five weeks ago, and returned to management six months after leaving Crystal Palace.

Sam Allardyce will take charge for the first time in Saturday’s Premier League clash at home to Huddersfield, having signed a deal to the end of June 2019.

The attraction of the club itself, the people I’ve known at the club – Peter Reid is one of my best mates, so are Andy Gray and Paul Bracewell whom I worked with at Sunderland – these people have always made me aware of just how special and unique a club Everton is and I feel really enthused and energised to come in as manager,” Allardyce said.

“I’ve always thought Everton was a great club. It is a great club. Obviously, the club has gone through a difficult spell and hopefully I can put that behind us as quickly as possible and start looking upwards again. Because, ultimately, it’s the ambition of the club, the ambition of the owner and the board, allied to the fact that it’s Everton and all the fantastic history, which have proved to be key for me.

“Ambition is important for any manager or coach, owner or director. It’s what you need to have and hopefully we can deliver to the fans to get this club high up the league. That’s what we’re aiming for.

“I think that whatever’s happened before we’ve just got to all rally around together. Because we are all in it together and let’s all pull in the same direction. Let’s try to get a healthy spirit around the club. That’s difficult when you’re losing but the win last night over West Ham and the magnificent atmosphere around Goodison, which was just brilliant, well that’s lifted everybody around the club.

“The fans are the most important people at any football club, of course, and we have to give the players every possibility to play to their best, really give them no excuses for not playing to their best and get them right back up to the top level we believe they’re capable of.

“Last season showed what the club is trying to build and we need to demonstrate that level of ambition and assuredness again. We can. It’s a question now of putting in the work to do that and I’m really enthused by the prospect.”

David Unsworth will return to his role as manager of Everton’s U23s and Academy Director of Coaching.

Conte Charged With Misconduct By FA

Featured Image

Antonio Conte, Chelsea manager, has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association, following his dismissal against Swansea.

The Italian manager was sent into the stands by referee Neil Swarbrick in the 43rd minute, after he shouted at fourth official, Lee Mason and the Swarbrick.

Conte apologised after the match, and stated he was unhappy with the time wasting tactics employed by Swansea.

“During the game, in the first half, I saw that Swansea were wasting time,” he said. “I said this a few times to the fourth official.

“At the same time, I didn’t see something change in the first half. I was frustrated for this situation. I tried to tell again, but then the referee took this decision.

“I repeat: I apologise for this. I was frustrated. For sure I made a mistake. During the game I suffer. With my players I suffer. It’s a pity.

“They are wasting time. I was a bit animated. I said this and I shout this. It was not the first time. I think for this reason the fourth official lost his patience. But I repeat, the fault was mine, not the fourth official’s. I apologise for this. I was frustrated.”

11,600 “Illegal” Nigerian Migrants Face Repatriation Worldwide

Featured Image

At least 11,600 migrants of Nigerian origin – living illegally abroad – are currently facing repatriation from different parts of the world, the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally-Displaced Persons (NCFRMI) said on Wednesday.

This disclosure was made by the Federal Commissioner for NCFRMI, Mrs. Sadiya Umar-Farouk.

242 Nigerian Migrants Stranded In Libya Return Home

She said this when the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, met with heads of National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and NCFRMI at the State House, Abuja, to review the condition of Nigerian migrants in different parts of the world.

In his opening remark before the meeting went into a closed-door session, Osinbajo recalled the comment of the President that all Nigerians stranded in the hostile country would be given an opportunity to return to the country.

African Slavery And The Constant Death Of Nigerians On The Mediterranean Sea

The VP also recalled the administration’s commitment to ensure that young Nigerians are no longer exposed to danger of wandering in the desert and eventual attempt to cross the sea.

Osinbajo further said it was expedient that Nigerian youths are sensitized on the danger involved when attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea for greener pasture oversea – after being brainwashed by unscrupulous individuals.

He said it had become imperative for them to review the situation and take a position on how to halt the trend.

Rohr: Nigeria Is Ready For Any Team

Featured Image

The World Cup draws will be held tomorrow and ahead of that, Nigeria’s coach, Gernot Rohr insists they fear no one.

The Super Eagles maintained their qualifying campaign without losing a match, and has been placed in pot 4.

Rohr believes no weak team ever makes it to the World Cup finals and insists Nigeria is ready for any group.

“All the teams that are in the Final Draw, except the host nation Russia, played qualifying matches. They all emerged from tough encounters and therefore, none can be tagged ‘weak.’,” Rohr told NFF website.

“In the next 24 hours, we will enter the State Kremlin Palace for the Final Draw and a couple of hours later, everyone will know their opponents. There is no apprehension. If you have to be listed among the best, you have to conquer the better teams and even beat some of the best.

“Seriously speaking, every team has the right to dream. But we have our heads on our shoulders and our feet on the ground, and whatever draw comes, we will take it one match at a time.”

Kaka Admits Interest From Manchester City In 2009 Messed Him Up

Featured Image

Kaka has revealed how close he came to making a shocking move to Manchester City in 2009.

Manchester City had agreed a fee with Milan and offered the Brazilian midfielder a huge pay rise.

But Kaka decided to snub the offer because ‘it was safer to stay at Milan’

In 2009, Manchester City had recently been acquired by Sheikh Mansour and were busy setting about putting his injection of cash to good use.

Kaka was targeted in an ambitious move, and he concedes that mulling over a switch away from his beloved AC Milan caused him plenty of problems.

Kaka told FourFourTwo: “I was sat at home when the telephone rang – I can still remember it clearly. It was my father and he seemed nervously excited. Then he told me a team in England, Manchester City, had made Milan a huge offer for me.

Before I could even react, he added that Milan were prepared to accept the bid. I’d had absolutely no idea that Manchester City were interested in signing me until they’d actually made their official offer to Milan.

“The process had been really different to how these things often work. City didn’t talk to my father – who also acted as my agent – first. They’d gone straight to Milan and made their intention clear. Very clear in fact.

They made Milan an offer for me, then sat back and asked, ‘What do you think?’
“It looked like a new, exciting challenge and a new chapter for me, but it had all come out of nowhere, and very quickly. Soon I started to feel confused and anxious. The situation messed me up.”

The wages I had been offered were much, much higher than what I was earning with Milan. In moments like those, you begin to picture how your future will look. It’s only natural.

“I’d finally come to the conclusion that it wasn’t quite the right time for me to go to City, and the main reason was the uncertainty over the squad-building process that they were about to undertake. It wasn’t clear to me how the squad would be reshaped and I wasn’t too convinced it would work.”

“When I finally left Milan a few months later, I went to Real Madrid to make my dream come true,” he said.

“That was one thing that had always been quite clear in my head: if I had to go to another club after Milan, it would be Real Madrid.

Kaka Rules Out Rejoining AC Milan This Season

Featured Image

Kaka has ruled out rejoining the AC Milan while the Serie A season is still in progress but admits China could be his next destination if he plays on.

The 35-year-old Brazilian is a free agent after leaving Orlando City in October and, following his departure from MLS, reports in Italy have suggested he could embark on a third spell with Milan.

He told “I want to make a decision with a calm mind, and I will make it by the end of December. I must also decide if I want to keep playing at all or take a role off the pitch.

“I was in Milan with the president of a Chinese club and we were just talking about my options. But before deciding on which club I might join I must first decide whether or not I will play again.”

On Milan, he added: “I do not like talking about clubs that are in the middle of a campaign, we’ll see where they finish.

“A lot has been invested in the club and some decisions they have made will need time to manifest.”

Atiku: What Does It Really Mean To Be A ‘Political Prostitute’?

Atiku: What Does It Really Mean To Be A ‘Political Prostitute’? By Jideofor Adibe

CLICK here to read more opinion articles

The recent  announcement by former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar that he has quit the APC,  and suspicions that he wants to join the PDP to bid to become the party’s flag bearer in the 2019 presidential election, has led to his critics hurling phrases like ‘serial contestant’ and ‘political prostitute’  at him and his politics.

My aim in this piece is not to defend Atiku but to interrogate what it really means to be a ‘serial contestant’ or ‘political prostitute’ in our type of environment where the political parties are not separated by any ideology or philosophy. In fact the difference between the political parties, including the APC and the PDP, I dare say, is like the difference between 12 and one dozen.

This piece was written by Jideofor Adibe. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of

There are several observations:

One, in a sense, Nigerian political parties do not qualify to be so called in the strict sense of the word. What we have are different political tendencies that are built around individuals and their ambitions.  In other words, the constant alignment and re-alignment within political parties are not different from changing from one political party to another. Politicians, in an environment like ours where politics generally (not just among the political parties) is not driven by any ideology or philosophy, will be the first to tell you that “there are no permanent friends in politics, but only permanent interests”. Is it not ironic that Atiku who started the process that made Jonathan lose the 2015 election by staging a walkout on the PDP convention is today believed to have the support of the former President to be the PDP’s flag-bearer?  For them, whatever transpired was not personal, just politics. This is precisely why I sometimes sympathize with people who put their lives on the line in the intra-dog fight for power and privileges among the political class.

Atiku Dumps APC, Says “Party Has Failed Nigerians”

Two, there is no difference among our politicians when it comes to hopping from one party to another or moving from one political alignment to another within the same party.  Take for instance Buhari, who is regarded as the epitome of integrity by his supporters.  He contested for the presidency on the platform of the ANPP in 2003 and 2007 and then formed his own party the CPC in 2011. In 2015 he contested again under the APC (a fusion of a number of parties that included his own CPC). It is interesting that while Buhari contested for the presidency of the country four times under three different political parties, it is Atiku who has actually contested for the presidency of the country only once (in 2007 when he ran under the defunct Action Congress)  that is branded a ‘political prostitute’. True, Atiku contested unsuccessfully to be the flag bearer of his party twice (in 1993 against Abiola and in 2010 against Jonathan). But are these really enough to make him a ‘serial contestant’ or ‘political prostitute’? I feel that because of his known political ambition, (which he sometimes does not manage as well as he should), the number of times he actually contested for the presidency of this country or to be the flag bearer of his party is often exaggerated in the public imagination.

Three, while we pretend to be nauseated with politicians who hop from one political party to another on a whim, we often assume wrongly that the society will reward those who remain loyal to their party – irrespective of the changing circumstances of that party.  For instance, Dr Ogbonna Onu, the current Minister of Science and Technology remained faithful to the ANPP until its merger with others to form the APC. How has the larger society rewarded him for that loyalty? Certainly in our type of environment, it remains debatable whether people see his sticking with ANPP (even when the party was shrinking) as evidence of principle or lack of ambition.

Four, the lack of overarching philosophy that drives politics and political parties and the consequent hopping of politicians from one political alignment to another  within their parties or from one political party to another, is a reflection of what happens in the larger society. Within a span of a few years, an average  Nigerian business man will have tried his hand on several businesses, failing in many;  the average Emeka, Segun or Adamu will have tried to work in a number of jobs; several will have moved residencies, including relocating abroad (or trying to do so).  While people justify these vertical and horizontal movements by arguing that Nigeria is in a state of flux and that people have no choice but to negotiate and navigate their survival within the system, they are quick to condemn politicians who behave exactly as they do. We should look at ourselves in the mirror! This was the message of the late pop icon Michael Jackson in his 1987 hit song ‘Man in the Mirror’. While it is OK to extol our octopus-like movements in search of greener pastures, it is fun to deride politicians who do exactly what we do.

Five, there are several dimensions of integrity and no person has ‘integrity’ in all facets of his or her life. This is why people often caution against judging the weather only by its inclement side. A similar aphorism by the American writer and historian James Truslow Adams also warns us:  “There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it ill behoves any of us to find fault with the rest of us.” This is also a warning against any tendency to look at things in zero-sum terms.  For instance Atiku has ‘only’ a Diploma in Law from Ahmadu Bello University but his American University in Yola is perhaps one of the best private Universities in the country. How many Nigerians in Atiku’s shoes will resist the temptation of registering in that University (or even in any University in Nigeria), and ‘graduating’ with First Class honours – and perhaps going ahead to obtain Master’s and Doctorate degrees?  Is this not a rare demonstration of integrity?

Six, it will also be interesting to interrogate at what point ambition becomes inordinate. Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the USA, is usually used to extol the virtues of doggedness and not giving up amid failures and unwanted outcomes. Lincoln, who failed in business in 1831, was defeated when he ran to become a State legislator the following year; in 1843, he ran again for Congress and was defeated; he ran again in 1848 and was once more defeated. But he never gave up. In 1855, he ran for Senate and lost; he ran for Vice President in 1856 and also lost; when he ran for the Senate in 1859 the outcome was the same failure. But in 1860, his doggedness paid off as God turned to his page and he was elected President of the United States. Why do we use Lincoln to teach people about the virtues of not giving up and deride Atiku because he ran unsuccessfully for President once and tried unsuccessfully two or so times to become the flag bearer of his party?

This is the same sort of double standard we have when it comes to fighting corruption. Everyone seems to be fighting against corruption that I often wonder who are left to perpetrate the corruption in the society. Even the roadside car mechanic who will swap the new battery in your car for his old one if you step out of sight, gets very angry when he talks about the corruption in the society

Seven, a larger question raised by the above reflection is our leadership recruitment process and what we should be looking for in our potential leaders. I feel  that since we constantly complain about the quality of leaders we get, we should also ask ourselves whether the qualities we extol or condemn during the leadership recruitment process  actually correlate with what we expect those leaders to accomplish in office.

Let me give a simple test here by posing two hypothestical questions: Question 1: Assuming you are given a choice between someone you know is corrupt but has the capacity to govern well  and someone you know lacks the capacity to deliver but is not corrupt, who will you choose?

Question 2:  Assuming you are given a choice between a politician who is a ‘political prostitute’ (as all our politicians are)  but is known to have the capacity to take the country to the next level, will you prefer the man who has remained loyal to only one party but has no proven capacity to deliver?

Let me underline that I am not extolling party hopping or corruption. My point is that the qualities we extol or condemn as we search for our leaders should have relevance to such leaders’ ability to govern effectively.

This piece was written by Jideofor Adibe. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of

Antonio Conte Reveals He’s Already Apologized To The Referee After Getting Sent To The Stands

Featured Image

Antonio Conte has said that he must always “respect” the decision of the officials after being sent to the stands in his side’s 1-0 win over Swansea City.

Just before half time, Antonio Conte claimed that Swansea had started to waste time after shutting the Blues out during the opening 45 minutes, leading to the frustrated Italian being ordered away from the touchline.

However, Conte has acknowledged that he made a mistake, and has revealed that he had taken time to apologise to the referee and the fourth official.

Antonio Conte told Sky Sports: “I saw that the opponent was wasting time and that is the reason I spoke a few times with the fourth official.

“I didn’t see that the situation change and I was frustrated with the fourth official. For this reason, I have to apologise to him and the referee. In that moment, I was angry but I know that is it right to apologise to them.

“It is fair, I don’t know, but I know that the referee took this decision and for this reason, we have to accept and respect his decision. It is not simple sometimes during the game, there is a lot of frustration but at the same time, I think that you can make a mistake and I did this.”

“Mauro is an important player, and there are top clubs who have been following him for some time,” she told Corriere dello Sport.

Antoine Griezmann Reveals How Arsenal Ended Up Signing Yaya Sanogo Instead Of Him in 2013

Featured Image

Antoine Griezmann claimed Arsenal kept him “waiting” over a potential move in 2013 and that he would not consider a move to the Emirates in the future.

The Atletico Madrid forward, who was playing for Real Sociedad at the time, says Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was intent on signing him during the summer window four years ago.

But in his autobiography, Behind The Smile,Antoine Griezmann says: “I waited, I waited, and I kept waiting … when there was no news, Eric called Grimandi, who said that the manager was still interested in me [and] to keep waiting.

“Finally a few hours before the market closed, he let us know Arsenal would not make a move. I don’t like to be told something and for it not to happen.

“So when Eric told me later that the London club were interested again I told him: ‘Forget it, after the blow they gave us.”

Arsenal signed Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for a then club record fee, but the only young French talent they acquired that summer was Yaya Sanogo.

Las Palmas Sack Manager Pako Ayestaran After Just Two Months In Charge

Featured Image

Las Palmas have sacked their head coach Pako Ayestaran, just two months after his arrival at the Canary Islanders.

Spanish media report that Paco Jemez, who has recently quit as manager of Mexican side Cruz Azul, is in the frame to take over as his successor.

Under Pako Ayestaran, Las Palmas lost six and drew one of their seven games to leave them one off the foot of the table.

The club made the announcement in a statement on their website after the 3-2 defeat at home to Deportivo La Coruna in the King’s Cup, even though they still reached the last 16 of the tournament 6-4 on aggregate.

A former assistant to Rafa Benitez at Liverpool and Valencia, Ayestaran holds the record for the most consecutive defeats in Spanish top flight history.

He lost 13 games in a row in charge of Valencia last season and Las Palmas this term.

He brought that dismal run to an end with a 1-1 draw at Real Sociedad last Sunday, which took the side off the bottom of La Liga and up to 19th.

Ayestaran took charge of Las Palmas on September 27 after Manolo Marquez resigned from the role following two wins and four defeats.

“It may happen that someone offers so much money that Inter have to consider it, but I don’t want to speculate if it would be €50million (£44million) or €70million (£61million).

“He’s doing really well in Milan, he’s playing well so obviously his price is increasing. It’s premature to talk about a move to Barcelona or Manchester City though. If Inter paid €25million (£22million) for Skriniar, I don’t expect them to sell him for €40million or €50million. Inter aren’t currently in a position where they’d have to sell players.” (SME Sport)

Fuel Scarcity Looms As Oil Marketers Threaten Service Withdrawal From Dec. 11 In Lagos

Featured Image

Fuel scarcity may loom in Lagos as oil marketers under the aegis of the State’s chapter of the Independent Petroleum Markers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) have threatened to withdraw their services from December 11, over the alleged breach of agreement by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

The association is accusing the NNPC of undersupplying its members with Premium Motor Spirit, claiming further that the country’s apex oil firm has defaulted in a bulk purchase agreement to sell fuel to them at N133.28 per litre.

The accusations were contained in a statement released by the state chairman of IPMAN, Alanamu Balogun, on Thursday.

Balogun claimed members have been running their fuel stations at a loss in the last eight months, due to “NNPC’s default” in the bulk purchase agreement.

The association particularly complained of a shortage of product supply to Ejigbo satellite depot, which, it said, serves more than 900 filling stations in Lagos.

“We have endured enough and are set for a showdown with the NNPC for irregular supply at Ejigbo satellite depot, Lagos,” the association said.

The statement continued: “Now, a litre of petrol is being sold to IPMAN members by Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association (DAPMAN) at N141, apart from running costs, bank charges and other expenses.”

“This made it impossible for IPMAN members to sell a litre of fuel at the controlled price of N145, but N146 per litre.

“While the NNPC had refused to sell fuel to its members regularly, the corporation is diverting the supplies to DAPMAN at a price of N117 per litre.

“DAPMAN in turn is selling to IPMAN members at N141 per litre.”

IPMAN then called on President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Assembly, the ministry of petroleum resources and other relevant stakeholders to look into the matter.

“If not, IPMAN members will withdraw their services and shut down all their stations in Lagos state.”

“We have held many meetings with both the NNPC and DAPMAN, questioning why should the NNPC supplies fuel to DAPMAN at N117 per litre and DAPMAN will turn around to sell the same fuel to IPMAN members at N141 and the NNPC wants marketers to sell to the public at N145 per litre.

“The NNPC made it as a condition that we must renew our agreement with it or we will not get fuel supply. This agreement has been renewed yet, the NNPC has refused to supply us with fuel. The same agreement the NNPC signed with us is what it signed with DAPMAN. While DAPMAN gets supplies, IPMAN members are being denied fuel supply, which means the NNPC officials are into a game.

“The Federal Government should step into this matter between now and December 11 to avoid fuel crisis.”

Wayne Rooney Admits His Everton Wonder Goal Might Be His Best Ever

Featured Image

Everton striker Wayne Rooney has revealed that he’s never before “struck a football better” than he did when scoring from inside his own half to complete his first Everton hat trick

Wayne Rooney had already scored twice in the first half when West Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart cleared the ball away to midfield, where it fell to Rooney to belt home a drive into the gaping net from 60 yards out.

At 32, Rooney has scored nine hat trick in his career, but the previous eight came for Manchester United, and he said he was thrilled to record his first for Everton in the 4-0 win.

Asked if he has ever scored a better goal than the one which clinched his treble, Rooney told BT Sport: “I don’t think so. It’s one of, if not, the best goal I’ve scored. I hit it as well as I’ve ever kicked a football. “To make it my first hat trick for Everton, I’m delighted.”

Rooney’s hat trick was his first in the Premier League since Sept. 10, 2011, when he helped United beat Bolton 5-0. The gap between the two hat tricks is the longest by any player in Premier League history, according to Opta.

JAY Z Admits He Cheated On Beyonce, Reveals Therapy Kept Them From Divorce

Featured Image

Jay Z, who had apparently hinted on 4:44 that he had cheated on his wife Beyonce, has now outrightly admitted to the accusations of infidelity, after her 2016 album Lemonade alluded to him of being unfaithful.

He got real about everything from his marriage to Beyoncé to his mother’s sexuality and his relationship with Kanye West on Wednesday during an interview with T Magazine.

The hip hop legend and Grammy award winner did not only admitted that he been unfaithful to his wife of nine years, but also said that therapy kept them from getting divorced.

“You have to survive. So you go into survival mode, and when you go into survival mode, what happens? You shut down all emotions. So, even with women, you gonna shut down emotionally, so you can’t connect. … In my case, like, it’s deep. And then all the things happen from there: infidelity,” he said during the interview with New York Times executive editor Dean Baquet.

Jay Z also spoke about listening to Lemonade for the first time, and Beyoncé’s experience listening to his album 4:44, describing the experience as “uncomfortable” for them both.

“But the best place in the hurricane is in the middle of it. The best place is right in the middle of the pain. And that’s where we were sitting,” he said.

“And it was uncomfortable. And we had a lot of conversations.  [I was] really proud of the music she made, and she was really proud of the art I released. And, you know, at the end of the day we really have a healthy respect for one another’s craft. I think she’s amazing.”

He added that “the hardest thing is seeing pain on someone’s face that you caused, and then have to deal with yourself.”

Jay confirmed that he and Bey worked on a joint album together around the time Lemonade dropped and that they “still have a lot of that music” that is unreleased.

“We were using our art almost like a therapy session. And we started making music together. And then the music she was making at that time was further along. So, her album came out as opposed to the joint album that we were working on.”

He added: “We still have a lot of that music. And this is what it became. There was never a point where it was like, “I’m making this album.” I was right there the entire time.”

p class=”p-text”>He also spoke of weathering storms in their relationship. “You know, most people walk away, and like divorce rate is like 50 percent or something ’cause most people can’t see themselves,” he said.

p class=”p-text”>

Hova also discussed the current state of his sometimes contentious relationship with Kanye West, which he described as “complicated.”

“I’ve always been like his big brother,” Jay-Z said in the interview. “And we’re both entertainers. It’s always been like a little underlying competition with your big brother. And we both love and respect each other’s art, too. So it’s like, we both — everyone wants to be the greatest in the world.”

Jay recently talked to West, saying that “there’s genuine love there.” And even though there’s tension, “in the long relationship, you know, hopefully when we’re 89 we look at this six months or whatever time and we laugh at that.”

Pep Guardiola Reveals What He Said In Angry Exchange With Nathan Redmond

Featured Image

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola said he couldn’t control his emotions after jumping on the pitch to celebrate Raheem Sterling’s 96th-minute winner in the victory over Southampton

Pep Guardiola also went further to explain his chat with Nathan Redmond afterward.

Manchester City maintained their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League with a 2-1 victory over the Saints and extended their club-record winning streak to 19 games.

Guardiola was also seen having an odd exchange with Southampton winger Redmond after the full-time whistle, gesticulating at the player, but said he was telling him what a good player he was.

“It was a good night, I think all the supporters create some special moments tonight and in the last second we enjoyed the situation,” the City boss told a new conference.

“You have to celebrate it. It was a good moment in the last minute, in the locker room, all the staff so happy it makes sense to enjoy our celebration. It makes sense, our job to enjoy these sort of situations.

“I said [to the referee] I apologise because i couldn’t control it, I was so happy like all the fans and players. I ran after Raz but I’m not quick enough but we were so happy.”

Explaining his comments to Redmond, he added: “I said what good a player he is. Last season he destroyed us here. I didn’t know him last season and didn’t realise how good he is. Today he could not attack because he defends all the time.”
