Wizkid’s Manager, Sunday Are Reacts To Alleged Fight With Tekno At One Africa Music Fest, Dubai

Featured Image

The news of fight between Wizkid’s manager, Sunday Are and MMMG act Tekno at the One Music Festival held in Dubai was said to be the genesis of the fight that ensued between Wizkid and Davido’s team at One Africa Music Festival in Dubai few weeks ago.

Reports had it that Tekno ‘disrespected’ Sunday Are by offering him a handshake after his performance at the back-stage while Sunday Are responded with a heavy slap on the singer’s face,

The fight however got heightened after Davido defended Tekno resulting to a fight between the Davido’s crew and Wizkid’s crew.

Sunday Are who addressed the fight report in a chat with Punch said;

“Initially I did not want to say anything about the issue I had with Tekno at the One Africa Music Fest because if I speak, the industry would not be happy about what happened. .

I just want to be silent on the matter because what actually happened was more or less like the quarrel of a father and son in the house. When a father has a problem with his child in a house, that is when the child will do something that is not good, you scold him and it ends there.

What people have been reading was not actually what happened. When these young boys in the industry act sometimes, it makes me remember the Yoruba proverb which says, ‘a child can have as many clothes as an elder but he can never have as many rags as the elder.’ .

Also, what an elderly person sees while seated, a child cannot see it even if he climbs a skyscraper. With all due respect to every artiste in Nigeria both old and young, what happened on that day has never happened before. .

No artiste in Nigeria has ever disrespected me. Every artiste in this country knows that I am always there for them and I also try my best not to disrespect any one of them. They can all testify to this. .

I always wish every music artiste the best because I stand for African entertainment. I have always wished them the best including Tekno; my happiness is for him to grow higher than he is today.”

Buhari Dismisses Atiku’s U.S Ban Claim

Featured Image

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday dismissed claims by a former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, that he was not allowed into the U.S. for about 15 years.

Speaking on behalf of his principal, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, in a statement, described as “fictive concoction” the claim credited to former Vice-President that the President, for about 15 years, could not enter America on account of religious considerations.

The statement read: “This fictive concoction being passed off as truth is mind boggling, coming from a former Number Two man of Nigeria, who should know the truth.

“At no time was President Buhari, as a private person, ever forbidden from entering any country in the world.

“Rather, the rest of the world has always held Muhammadu Buhari as a man of sterling qualities, strong on integrity, transparency and accountability. The same testimony is still borne of the Nigerian President by many world leaders today.

“It is curious that former VP Abubakar had been asked why he had not visited America for over a decade, something that had been a stubborn fact dogging his footsteps.

“Instead of answering directly, he begged the question, saying Buhari also had been disallowed from entering the same country for 15 years, before becoming President.

“We hereby make it resoundingly clear that what the former Vice President said only exists in the realm of his imagination. If he has issues to settle with American authorities, he should do so, rather than clutch at a straw.”

Giroud: England Are Afraid Of France

Featured Image

Olivier Giroud says Didier Deschamps men are aiming for the semifinals of the World Cup, and believes England are afraid of France.

France are drawn in Group C alongside Australia, Peru and Denmark and Les Bleus are hoping to improve on their quarterfinal finish of the 2014 World Cup.

Giroud scored four goals on the road to World Cup qualification and has gauged the England internationals he plays with at Arsenal, and believes they fear France.

“We obviously want to get out of this group, but I have always respected my opponents throughout my career,” Giroud told RMC Sport.

“It’s nice to talk, but doing it will be a different story.

“I said a few weeks ago that I would like to do better than 2014, so I’m aiming for at least the semi-finals.

“In England in the locker room, I know they are particularly afraid of us because we have a fairly talented generation, with very good players.”

Ronald Koeman Claims He’s Been Approached By Two Premier League Clubs Since Getting Sacked

Featured Image

Ronald Koeman has revealed that he’s been offered two Premier League management jobs after being sacked by Everton.

Ronald Koeman got the sack Goodison Park in late October following the Toffees’ poor start to the season.

The Dutch man claimed he then turned down two unnamed top-flight clubs who sounded him out.

However West Ham replaced Slaven Bilic with David Moyes in early November, while Alan Pardew took charge at West Brom following Tony Pulis’ departure last week.

Koeman said: “My job at Everton was over from one day to the next. I had only just begun with them, and wanted to see things through.

“I was very disappointed, but I had to be realistic.

“If the team’s performances are below standard you have to expect something like this might happen.

“But my dismissal was still unexpected. It felt like a bruise, and for that reason I didn’t react to other offers.

They came in after I left Everton. Two were from clubs in the Premier League, and there were other possibilities elsewhere in Europe.

“But I want to take a step back, to see what went well and what went wrong among other reasons.

Hazard: Panenka Was All Instinct

Featured Image

Chelsea ace, Eden Hazard says playing the penalty as a panenka was not at all planned and purely down to instincts.

The Belgium international scored the third goal for the Blues from the spot, after Moses was brought down in the box.

Hazard’s goal from the spot was a panenka, that capped a brilliant performance by the attacker, who equalised for Chelsea after Gayle’s opener.

“When I take the ball in my hands, it’s instinct,” he told Sky Sports. “I just want to do this. I want the goalkeeper to move because, if he doesn’t, I’m in trouble.”

Newcastle keeper Karl Darlow said it was a frustrating way to concede for a third time, having performed well to keep his side in with a chance of a result.

“The chip annoyed me a little bit. I’d be lying if I said it didn’t, but it’s a great penalty,” he said.

“There are positives. We’ve gone to Manchester United and Chelsea and done all right in spells but you get punished at this level. We have to keep improving.”

Barcelona Confirm Samuel Umtiti Is Out For Eight Weeks Due To Hamstring Injury

Featured Image

Barcelona have confirmed the extent of Samuel Umtiti’s hamstring injury and it’s bad news for the team with the defender out for approximately eight weeks.

That means Samuel I tito will not play again in 2017, will miss El Clasico and January’s fixtures too.

Umtiti pulled up on the touchline as he competed for the ball with Iago Aspas in Barca’s 2-2 La Liga draw against Celta at Camp Nou.

As Aspas raced away, eventually setting up Maxi Gomez for his side’s equalising goal, Umtiti signalled to the bench that he would be unable to continue.

Barcelona are also without Javier Mascherano right now and he is not expected back until mid-December.

Until then Ernesto Valverde will look to Gerard Pique and Thomas Vermaelen in central defence, although he could also use Barca B’s David Costas who featured in the Copa del Rey second leg win.

Milner: City Will Drop Points

Featured Image

James Milner admits Liverpool have had a tough time against big teams, but expects City to hit a sticky patch soon.

Liverpool lost 5-0 to the Etihad Stadium outfit, before losing 4-1 to Tottenham and managing draws against United and Chelsea.

Milner is confident of Liverpool winning silverware this season and of City hitting a dry spell.

“Last year we played really well against the top sides, but struggled against the so-called lesser teams,” Milner told Sky Sports.

“And this year we have had two disappointing results against teams challenging and maybe been a bit more ruthless against the lower teams.

“I think it is all there, we just need to put it all together. A lot can happen and we have probably had a sticky period, Spurs have had one and I am sure Man City will. And it is whether they can still get results in that time.

“There is a chasing pack at the moment which is pretty tight, everyone is close together and that is the quality of the Premier League.”

Moyes: City Are Not Among PL Greats Yet

Featured Image

West Ham manager, David Moyes believes Guardiola’s Manchester City has not done enough to write their names in the PL history books just yet.

City are currently enjoying a very fine season in the PL, holding a 12 points lead over fourth placed Arsenal, and are yet to lose this season.

Moyes admits the Manchester City squad is flush with talent, but believes they have weaknesses that can be exploited.

“I wouldn’t say they’ve got a long way to go but what I would say is they’ve not done anything yet as far as they’ve not won the Premiership [sic] yet,” Moyes, who was parachuted into the top job last month after Slaven Bilic’s firing, told reporters.

“And I think there’s been some great teams in the Premier League who have won it over the years. Maybe at the end people will say they are a great team but until that’s done then you can’t really say so.

“I think there are ways to play against them, I think they’ve got weaknesses. They play very high up the pitch, which can leave space in behind them.

“But I think the coach [Guardiola] admits to his frailties and knows what the weaknesses are but tries to make it so difficult for the opposition to get to their weaknesses.”

Alex Sandro is high on Antonio Conte’s wish-list, with Blues bigwigs ready to offer Juve £60million for their manager’s top target.

Chelsea transfer target Alex Sandro could be allowed to leave Juventus in January after he was dropped for the 1-0 win over Napoli on Friday. The Blues pushed hard to sign the Brazilian in the summer but had several bids up to €70m (£61.8m) rejected by the Serie A champions. However, Sandro has struggled for form this season and Juventus could be willing to sell the left-back, who was also subject of Manchester City transfer rumours, for €60m (£52.9m) in January. (Tuttosport)

AC Milan are considering selling Hakan Calhanoglu in January, less than six months after he arrived at the club in a €22m (£19.4m) deal from Bayer Leverkusen. Brazilian Wonderkid Arthur Melo Spotted Wearing Barcelona Jersey

Featured Image

Gremio’s Arthur Melo has fuelled speculation that he will be joining Barcelona by wearing the club’s shirt in a photo with one of their South American scouts.

Just two days after helping Gremio to their third Copa Libertadores title — South American football’s top club trophy — Arthur Melo and his agent Andre Curry met with Barcelona officials in Porto Alegre, Globo Esporte reported.

The photo, in which a beaming Melo stands alongside his father, brother, Curry and the agent’s staff, was taken after successful talks on Friday, the portal said.

Cury is renowned as the man who allegedly convinced Neymar to join the Catalans back in 2014, and has reportedly been leading the club’s observation of the Gremio star.

According to Sport, the official was at Wednesday’s final and joined Arthur for dinner after the game.

The player’s very good passing has seen him compared to Andres Iniesta, and with the veteran midfielder inching towards the end of his career Melo may be considered as a perfect replacement by Barca.

However, agent Jorge Machado, who represents Melo, has urged a bit of caution, telling Globoesporte that the meeting was nothing more than “talks”.

“This was leaked out, I don’t know who did it, someone passing on the street. It was just talks,” he said.

“Who knows who did it, maybe Barcelona?”

Real Madrid To Brink Back Vinicius Junior From Brazil Earlier Than Planned

Featured Image

Vinicius Junior will be the first arrival at Real Madrid next summer, reports AS.

Real Madrid announced back in May that they had reached an agreement over the transfer of the Brazilian teenager from Flamengo in July 2018.

Although they also stated that the player would remain at Flamengo until July 2019, AS reports that they have declined the option to leave him in Brazil for a further season as they believe he is ready to play in Spain.

Aboutrika: Egypt Has A Good World Cup Draw

Featured Image

Egypt legend, Mohamed Aboutrika believes Egypt were drawn into a good World Cup group.

The Pharaohs qualified for the competition for the first time since 1990, and have been drawn in Group A with Russia, Saudi Arabia and Uruguay.

Aboutrika expects Egypt to fight for second place with the other teams, backing Uruguay as the group leader.

“The draw is good for Egypt and also for Saudi Arabia. The order of Egypt’s games by facing Uruguay then Russia then Saudi Arabia is also good,” Aboutrika told beINSports.

“This group calls us to think about advancing to the next round in the World Cup. I see that the first spot in the group is reserved for Uruguay with Egypt, Russia and Saudi Arabia battling out for the second place.”

“We have a strong motive when we face Saudi Arabia because of the renowned game in the 1999 Confederations Cup and Egypt’s 5-0 defeat. God willing Egypt is capable of qualifying from this group.
