Joshua Kimmich is close to signing a new long-term deal with Bayern Munich. The 23-year-old currently has a deal with the Bavarian giants until the end of the 2019/20 campaign, but the new terms will see the Manchester City transfer target pledge himself to the Bundesliga champions until 2022/23. (Kicker)

Bundesliga champions-elect Bayern Munich have identified a player to fill the right-back void at the club. The German club extended their search across the globe and believe Fabricio Bustos is the player to tick all of the boxes. The 21-year-old Independiente full-back has impressed this season and could even be included in Argentina’s World Cup squad. (Kicker)

Koln goalkeeper Timo Horn has apologised to fans after his mistake gifted Stuttgart a goal in the 3-2 loss which leaves them eight points adrift at the bottom of the Bundesliga. Following the defeat, the 24-year-old former Arsenal transfer target said: “I’m not looking for excuses on such things, it’s a ball that the goalkeeper has to keep safe, I’m incredibly sorry.” (Kicker)

Spain

Lionel Messi scored his 600th career goal during Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid. The result, in the eyes of many, brings the La Liga title race to an end, with Ernesto Valverde’s men now eight points clear at the summit. (Marca)

Diego Simeone, the manager of Atletico Madrid, believes the result would have been different had Messi been playing for his side: “If we put Messi in one of our shirts, we would have won, he’s a different player,”. The Barcelona No 10’s free-kick divided the teams. (Sport)

Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta will be out of action for between three and four weeks after injuring his hamstring in the 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid. Iniesta had to be taken off just before half-time, with Andre Gomes replacing him in midfield. Barca boss Valverde now has a selection headache for the upcoming Champions League tie with Chelsea. With Philippe Coutinho ineligible, he may be forced to field Gomes from the off. (Sport)

Italy

Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires has opened up over a possible return to Europe. The Brazilian, currently playing for Jiangsu Suning in the Chinese Super League, was linked with a move to Inter Milan during the winter transfer window. The 30-year-old, when asked, said he would be open to a return to Europe: “Everybody knows that Inter is a great club and playing again in Europe is a wish I have, but now I think about helping Jiangsu to make a great year in 2018, nothing else goes through my mind right now.” (Calciomercato)

Paulo Dybala’s mother has been credited with the forward’s return to form. The 24-year-old netted a last-minute winner against Lazio to ensure Juventus remained a point behind leaders Napoli but with a game in hand. The Real Madrid transfer target has moved his mother closer to him and is now more settled. (Tuttosport)

AC Milan want to bring in former Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina. They have promised the Spaniard that he will be the No 1 at the San Siro when Gianluigi Donnarumma is sold. (Rai Sport)

France

The owners of Paris Saint-Germain have personally asked the Brazilian FA to save Neymar for the World Cup. The world’s most expensive player is currently ruled out for the next six weeks and PSG do not want Brazil to call him up for the friendlies prior to the summer competition, giving him more time to rest and recover. (Le10Sport)

Former France manager Raymond Domenech believes Florian Thauvin should be named in Didier Deschamps’ World Cup squad ahead of Ousmane Dembele and Kingsley Coman. “He is a better scorer and the best passer of the OM: it means something and he’s managed to do it for the entire season.” (L’Equipe)

Dimitri Payet Hits Back At Nantes Manager Claudio Ranieri After He Was Labelled “Classless”

Featured Image

Marseille midfielder Dimitri Payet has dismissed claims by Nantes boss Claudio Ranieri that he had failed to act like “a gentleman” in the Ligue 1 fixture between the two clubs.

Sunday’s encounter ended in a 1-1 draw after Marseille netted a last-minute equaliser, but only after Payet had failed to return the ball to Nantes when two of their players had required treatment.

However, Payet has suggested that both Diego Carlos and Ciprian Tatarusanu had been feigning injury and feels that Florian Thauvin’s goal was “justice”.

Dimitri Payet is quoted by The Mirror as saying: “I’m a player who believes fair play but you cannot push it too far.

“When I see a goalkeeper and a defender on the floor without any contact, there comes a time that we have to stop. We played on and there you go. You can say it is justice.”

Nantes Manager Claudio Ranieri Blasts Dimitri Payet, Labels Him “Classless”,

Featured Image

Nantes manager Claudio Ranieri has criticised Marseille’s midfielder Dimitri Payet after he helped his side score a controversial goal in the Ligue 1 fixture between the two clubs.

With Diego Carlos and Ciprian Tatarusanu both down looking to receive treatment, Nantes kicked the ball out of play, but Payet failed to return the ball from a throw-in and after a corner was won, Marseille were able to score a last-minute equaliser.

Payet has suggested that the two players involved were feigning injury, but Ranieri has accused the French international of failing to act like “a gentleman”.

The Italian is quoted by The Mirror as saying: “It was a good match which was complicated. We scored a great goal and controlled the match. Then there was a throw-in. Payet should have given us back the ball.

“That is football – ‘long live football’. Gentlemen give back the ball – others don’t. They are the intelligent ones.”

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Looking To Emulate His Liverpool Teammate Mohamed Salah

Featured Image

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has said that he is eager to learn from his Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.

Mohamed Salah has broken a plethora of goalscoring records already this season having found the back of the net 32 times in his debut campaign, with Saturday’s opener against Newcastle United also seeing him score for a seventh game in succession.

Oxlade-Chamberlain’s own performances have also impressed in recent weeks, and he stressed the importance of following the example set by the “relentless” Salah.

“There is more in me. I know I have to keep pushing on. I can take so much from someone like Mo Salah,” Chamberlain is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News.

“Just look at him this season. It has been relentless and when someone can go from – obviously he is a great player – but to be competing with Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero for top goalscorer is something you have to learn from.

“People probably wouldn’t have expected that from him at the start of the season. To put himself in that position is down to the mentality he has to work hard and get the best out of himself. Every season there is always an example of people like that. You can take inspiration and I have got to keep pushing myself.

“I have nine games left in the league and we have the Champions League and I want to give the best of myself in those games and do as much as I can to help this team finish as high as we can.”

Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp Heaps Praise On Jordan Henderson

Featured Image

Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on his Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson, claiming that the midfielder has “the most difficult job” in English football.

Jurgen Klopp insisted that the 27-year-old has been coping with the responsibility of replacing club legend Steven Gerrard, who left Liverpool in 2015.

At a press conference, the 50-year-old told reporters: “Jordan Henderson knows what I think about him and Gareth Southgate is thinking about him. Jordan can improve but he has been a strong player this year. That is why he is playing for us and is our skipper.

“The last game was outstanding from him in many parts. He controlled the game and his passing was excellent. He was patient. He has the most difficult job in England – he had to replace Steven Gerrard.

“I hope people don’t think about that any more, he is an individual person. I thought he did really well to deal with it. When fit he is a fantastic footballer.”

“Clarence Is Big, Shina Is Bigger” – Sir Shina Peter Claims He’s Bigger Than His Video Director Son, Clarence Peters

Featured Image

Ace Nigerian Juju musician, Sir Shina Peters has revealed his relationship with his renowned music video director son, Clarence Peters and his entire family.

While speaking in Interview with Sunday Scoop, Shina Peters said, his son, Clarance is big but he is bigger.

The veteran singer went further to boast of his status as the only Veteran Nigerian musician who is legally married to just one woman.

In his words;

“You can call me a ladies’ man but I did things with caution. Do you know that I am the only artiste of my generation who is legally married to only one woman till date? My wife still stays with me.

There is no way you would be at the peak of your career without the support of women.

Getting married was a miracle. In those days, even before I finished a show, you would see plenty of women literally queuing to meet me.

Choosing my wife was destiny; it was not my making or hers. We were destined to be together and I feel everyone has someone destined for him or her. If not for my profession, I would have loved to have a wife and two children.

But it turned out that I had children with other women. The temptation in the entertainment industry is too much and you can easily get carried away. I always use spirituality to tackle things. Some women can use love spells on men they like. Do you know how many love spells they might have used on me?

The only thing I have never done in my life is to smoke cigarettes. Though I take alcohol, I am closer to God now. I am now the head of the choir of Cherubim and Seraphim church. I took over the position in July last year.”

While speaking about his popular video director son, Clarance Peters, He said;

“God only used me and his mother (Clarion Chukwura) to bring him into this world. Clarence is a genius and he has all it takes to be a star. I pray for him to have long life and to find a good wife. Whenever he wants to see me, I am usually not available and whenever I want to see him, he is somewhere shooting.

But we make sure that we see at least once in a month. There was a time he called me and was panicking.

After setting up for a video shoot, the owner of the store he wanted to use appeared and started shouting at him.

He called me and the man wanted to know who I was. The man happened to be the owner of Elizade Motors.

When I introduced myself and told him Clarence was my son, the was issue settled automatically.

Clarence is big, Shina is bigger. All I do now is to pray for him and the rest of my children. I can fast for 90 days straight; I will just take banana and water. Even when I have events, I still fast

Smith: Aubameyang Not The Same Player He Was At Dortmund

Featured Image

Arsenal legend, Alan Smith believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a shadow of his Dortmund self following his move to the Emirates.

The Gabon international striker joined Arsenal in January for £55 million. He arrived as a possible solution to the goalscoring crisis at Arsenal.

However, the poor form and the malaise at the club has affected Aubameyang’s ability to perform.

Former Gunners striker Smith told Sky Sports on a big-money addition following a disjointed display in a 2-1 defeat at Brighton: “He looked a shadow of the player he was at Dortmund.

“Even he, in the short time he’s been at Arsenal, has been affected by the mood.

“He got his goal with a little flick, but he’s not the player I hoped he would be.

“I’m not saying he’s a bad player, but it’s a malaise through the dressing room and he’s been affected.”

Tatarusanu Slams Ligue 1 For Failure To Show Astori Respect

Featured Image

Nantes goalie, Ciprian Tatarusanu has branded the lack of a minute’s silence in respect of Fiorentina captain, Davide Astori, who passed away on Sunday, before his side’s clash against Marseille.

The 32-year-old shot-stopper was a teammate of the defender, who died in his sleep ahead of Fiorentina’s clash against Udinese.

All matches in the Serie A were postponed as a sign of respect to the fallen Astori. But there was no form of remembrance in France.

“It’s the worst day of my life. There was no moment of silence after the death of my former team-mate and friend Davide Astori,” the goalkeeper fired after the 1-1 draw at Stade Velodrome, in which OM had pinched a 95th-minute equaliser through Florian Thauvin.

“It’s a scandal, a lack of respect.

“After such a drama, football and the result don’t matter. There will be other matches.”

#BBNaija 2018 Day 35: Leo And Ifu Ennada Are Winners Of The ‘ROC Da Mat’ Challenge

Featured Image

After the mild commotion that characeterised the #bbnaija house as a result of the eviction of Ahneeka and Angel, Biggie announced the winners of the Roc Da Mat challenge as Ifu Ennada and Leo.

The duo had really passed through the wringer as they had been nominated for eviction and were apparently still recovering from the shock of having been narrowly spared the exit fate.

As such, it came as a surprise to see Ifu Ennada uttering praises with clasped hands upon hearing that their pair were not Evicted.

It was only a short respite for Ifu and Leo who were sent on another rollercoaster of emotions upon hearing they had won the Pepsi Roc Da Mat prize that included ₦5 million as well as the VIP trip to London.

The two surely deserved the prize ,as they had earned it through hardwork and dedication. Ifu couldn’t contain herself and literally jumped around joyfully shouting and laughing before throwing herself into her partner Leo’s arms to celebrate.

It was as if she was finally vindicated, and that her stay in the #bbnaija House was worth it. Leo on his side though less inclined to demonstrate emotions looked genuinely carried away and happy.

The #bbnaija Housemates immediately gathered around the winners and congratulated them for snatching such a victory. The smiles looked authentic, yet some teeth were grinding as Anto and Lolu for instance appeared detached from the moment.

Against all odds, even Alex who had Nominated Leo for a corny haircut story instantly warmed up and was seen hovering around him again. She had tossed him aside for days as a result of misunderstandings related to how she felt for him.

Perhaps learning that Leo was now a winner rekindled her flame or maybe it was the sleek haircut that revived her passion. Whatever it is, everyone sure loves a winner and that much was demonstrated by the #bbnaija housemates.

Did Patience Jonathan Do Money Ritual?

Did Patience Jonathan Do Money Ritual? – Tunde Odesola

CLICK here to read more opinion articles

Is Nigeria accursed? I can’t say no. But I’m sure Nigeria is sick. Nigeria is empty like a vase without flowers. Some retrogressive forces won’t just stop doing a number on her. She is not Midas. Midas was a man. Everything Nigeria touches rusts. When life-changing ideologies, products, concepts arrive in Nigeria, they die. It is curious, but this is the way we crookedly are. The interiors of our airplanes are like the sties of drunken pigs. Our highways are pathways to the grave. Our vehicles are coffins. Our telephony is bedlam. Our medicines kill. Our fuel fuels chaos. Our schools devalue. The few concepts and products that remain true to form include arms, ammunition, hard drugs, prostitution and ‘yahoo-yahoo’.

This piece was written by Tunde Odesola and was first published on The Punch Newspaper. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

What’s yahoo? Long before it became popular in the US in 1994 when Jerry Yang and David Filo coined Yahoo from the phrase, “Yet Another Hierarchically Organised Oracle,” the word ‘yahoo’ had an etymological meaning traceable to the 18th Century when Jonathan Swift made it popular in his work, Gulliver’s Travels. In the novel, Swift refers to a yahoo as a brute in a human form. Aside from the backronym, “Yahoo,” which is the language of the internet, and yahoo’s etymological connotation of brutishness, the word has been bastardised in Nigeria. Yahoo, in the street parlance of the young, urbane Nigerian youths, has nothing to do with the limitless benefits and possibilities of the Internet. Like our Midas-to-rust penchant, the word, “yahoo”, has assumed the toga of an internet horror in Nigeria. Someone said ex-Nigerian footballer, Jay Jay Okocha, was so good that his parents named him twice. Could it thus be said that the sorrows inflicted on victims by young Nigerians who engage in internet fraud called ‘yahoo-yahoo’ are so grievous that the cyberfraud was named twice?

I became sick the other day I listened to an online audio war between some ‘yahoo-yahoo’ boys and their female sidekicks popularly referred to as Olosho! This recent coinage, olosho, has no root in pristine Yoruba language and culture. Olosho is another name for a young, aggressive, urbane prostitute. In the online exchange that is now viral, the voice of a young lady comes up, lamenting the rate at which ‘yahoo-yahoo’ boys were killing oloshos for money-making rituals. The lady advised fellow oloshos to ‘wise up’ and be ready to ensnarl, fleece and kill ‘yahoo-yahoo’ boys, too. Later, the voices of some ‘yahoo-yahoo’ boys came up, cursing and lambasting oloshos, in general. The ‘yahoo-yahoo’ boys vehemently reaffirmed their vow to kill more oloshos for money rituals, stressing that oloshos ‘come for the money o’ and would do anything to sleep with as many as possible ‘yahoo-yahoo’ boys. Without a speck of compunction, the boys wantonly bragged about killing people and using their heads for money rituals, relishing the prospects of getting more heads to use for money rituals. This is the bread of sorrow being eaten by our youths today.

But, is money ritualism real? I don’t think so. I’m not saying that African juju is not efficacious. I’m only saying that it has its limitations, and its limitation includes money ritualism. The noise about the efficacy of money ritualism is balderdash. Our forefathers once claimed that the gods told them to kill newborn twins and albinos. While this inhuman act persisted, sacrifices were made to the gods, and people rejoiced after each sacrifice was ‘accepted’ by the gods. But when the gods saw the firepower from the arsenal (not Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal o) of the White man, they repented and became born again. If an aborigine had told the elders of the time that it was inhuman to kill twins and albinos, his head would have been severed in Imogun, the Yoruba’s Place of Skulls. People’s beliefs aren’t always in tandem with the will of God. Most often when people commit sin, they do so with style and zeal. If African juju doesn’t have its limitations, why did all African gods fail when the White man came enslaving? Or, didn’t the people call to the gods?

I have no respect for Nigerians politicians. I take their words with a pinch of salt. But I agree with the position of the representative, Osun-Central senatorial district in the Senate, Prof Olusola Adeyeye, who, taunting money ritualism, volunteered to put his neck on the chopping block for money ritual – with the proviso that the money his chopped head produces should be given to the Osun State Government. I make bold to say that ‘Yahoo-yahoo’ boys are just chopping off victims’ heads in vain, there’s nothing like money ritual, but they won’t know until the heads are off. With the rate heads are being severed across the country, there should’ve been a new set of nouveau riche. Generally, all we have among ‘yahoo-yahoo’ boys are ‘two-million-naira-rich’ rogues, who exploited the gullibility of victims on the Internet.

What’s the value of labour in Nigeria? How much does the most powerful man in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari, earn? Deriving its powers from Section 32(d), Part 1 of the Third Schedule of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission fixed the basic monthly salary of the Nigerian president at N292,892.08 while that of the vice-president is N252,063.04. In all, the President’s basic salary and allowances is N1,171,568.33 per month and that of the vice-president is N1,010,524.17 per month. Annually, the total take home of the President is N14,058,820.00 and the vice-president’s is N12,126,290.00.

Then, how come the wife of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan possesses funds that surpass the salaries of all Nigerian heads of state since independence? A few days ago, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, who had huffed all these years about the innocence of her wealth, offered to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission an out-of-court “amicable resolution of all cases” the agency has against her. According to the EFCC investigation, Mama Peace, as she’s fondly called, spent in a day shopping spree in China, $36,458.40. Probably, Jonathan could have an idea of the financial worth of Patience, but the EFCC insists the wealth of the University of Port Harcourt graduate is fraudulent. The EFCC has traced the sums of $11.8m, $6.7m and $31.5m to the former Bayelsa civil servant. These monies exclude her enormous real estate interests. In faraway Honduras, Rosa Bonilla, wife of ex-President Porfirio Lobo was not as lucky; she was detained on charges of embezzling merely $500,000 in government funds.

Interestingly, Mrs. Jonathan had explained that the monies were got from gifts donated by friends and well-wishers in 15 years, adding that she couldn’t even remember a number of the generous donors, some of whom gave gifts as small as N250,000. The EFCC has linked some accounts to Mama Peace through a former presidential aide, Dudafa Owei.

Could the contents of these bank accounts be the reason why Patience wailed at the 2015 Peoples Democratic Party presidential rally in Lagos, “Lagosians, they send you to jail, they send your fathers to jail, they’ve come back again; they’ll send you back to jail. Me, as a woman, I reject to carry food to my husband in jail, I reject it! Lagos women, are you ready to carry food to jail? Will they change? Why are they looking for your votes today?…(Singing) If you vote APC, na your prison, if you vote Buhari, na your prison. If you vote PDP, e go better!?” Having vehemently pleaded innocent to the EFCC’s corruption charges, where could Patience’s wealth have come from? Yahoo-yahoo ritual? State treasury? Well, I believe her story; I believe that some whimpering donors donated the monies in appreciation of the lullabies her velvety voice sang to them. She should be left to enjoy her gifts; Buhari has lost the prison keys to snakes.

Featured Image

The Presidency has revealed that the executive is working together with law makers to ensure that the 2018 budget comes to effect by March 31.

The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Affairs Senator Ita Enang stated this on Sunday when he appeared as a guest on Channels Television Programme, Sunday Politics.

His words: “Last week, the National Assembly at the Senate raised a question (observation) that there are some questions and inputs which they still expect from some MDAs. We (the executive) have been in touch with some of the chairman of the appropriation committee, the chairman of the sub-committee and the deputy chairman of the committee.

“Any area where they needed any question, we have answered. We have brought the officers before them (the Senate). The Director-General, Budget Office of the Federation met with them. We have also appraised the Minister of Budget and National Planning Senator Udoma Udo Udoma. We have met with most of the Ministers which they had anything about their input.”

“I will not be in a position to dispute any matter with the Senate. We need a solution; we need the 2018 budget to be passed.

“We are working with the legislatures to ensure that by March 31, 2018 the budget of 2018 will be come into effect. That is agreed between the executive and legislature and we are working towards that.”

#BBNaija 2018 Day 35: A Recap Of Week Five

Featured Image

The fith week in the #bbnaija House has been an inyeresting journey for the Housemates, as they kept busy with lots of activities that appeared to show their true characters.

Out of all the numerous activities that took place in week five, the one thing that caused the biggest ruckus was definitely the Pepsi “Roc Da Mat” Challenge. From start to finish it was utter chaos, as many of the #bbnaija Housemates got injured during the challenge.

For other #bbnaija housemates, they literally posted up camp besides the mats, all in an attempt to win big with Pepsi. Not all the #bbnaija Housemates were however into the challenge.

Teddy A and Nina protested against the challenge initially and openly vented about their dismay at the savage behaviour they had witnessed during the week. It was definitely wild.

Furthermore, the week also saw a number of evolution in the romance activites of a number of housemates in the #bbnaija house. From Cee-C and Tobi making up and then fighting again to Ahneeka and Angel getting closer and closer.

Alex and Leo seem to be a couple but when asked about it in the Diary Room, Leo stated that they were just friends. Miracle and Nina appear to still be going strong, while BamBam and Teddy A had their first fight in the #bbnaija house this week but still remain loved up.

The week also sae Tobi take the Head of House crown for a third time and this time it actually worked to his benefit as he now has immunity from Eviction for the week. Ahneeka won the Friday Night Games, as she exhibited a bit of girl power being the first female housemate to win the games this season.

The Saturday Night party was a huge success with DJ Neptune absolutely killing it on the decks and the #bbnaija housemates having the fun of their lives with the old school themed party.

The week also sae the eviction of Angel and Ahneeka from the #bbnaija house after yhey had the lowest votes.
