Alonso Tells Liverpool City Tie Is Not Done

Featured Image

Fernando Alonso has told Liverpool, their UCL tie against Manchester City is just half done.

Liverpool blitzed to a 3-0 win, scoring all goals in the first half, as Salah, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mane scored within 31 minutes.

It was a repeat of the 4-3 loss to Liverpool at Anfield, but Alonso believes the game is not settled.

“They have shown they can beat anyone, the atmosphere was thrilling at Anfield,” Alonso told Omnisport.

“The first half was unbelievable, to score three goals against City. The way they play they can be very happy, but it’s not done.

“There is still 90 minutes to play at City’s stadium and I am sure that they will improve and it’s not going to be easy.”

He was back in the starting lineup against Roma, as Barcelona won 4-1.

Valverde says he is not looking to rest Lionel Messi against Leganes.

“We’ll see,” Valverde told reporters at his pre-match news conference when asked about the possibility of giving Messi a break.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 67: The Emotional Rollercoaster Of Tobi And Cee-C

Featured Image

Cee-C found herself in a situation where the one person that always managed to make her feel a million different ways at once in the #bbnaija house suddenly leaving her feeling void and completely indifferent.

At the beginning of the season, Cee-C and Tobi were clearly each other’s muses and despite the fact that Cee-C had displayed a certain degree of reluctance, their differently wired relationship was a definite cause of envy in the #bbnaija House.

While it may seem as though the pair have broken away from their toxic union, their being apart proves to be generating even more toxicity than when they were together.

Cee-C’s semi-emotional revelation of guilt during her diary session on the night of day 66 was but one tiny piece of the puzzle bearing the complete image of how she really feels about her inability to get close to Tobi and share with him what they’d shared initially.

While it’s possible that this might as well be yet another slope to her strategy, it was visible that something had gotten to her and she was yearning to distance herself from it.

She’s tried to get through to him but if her confession is anything to go by, she put her own feeling first and consequently failed to understand him. Silent treatment has been known to activate the part of the brain that detects physical pain and is the most painful weapon to ever be used against an emotional partner. As such, it’s clear that the pain Cee-C feels may actually be mofe than she shows.

Tobi on the other hand has always been the initiator and peace maker in their union. He’s had to swallow a lot of low blows and rejections but even that wasn’t enough to divert his attention from Cee-C.

However, even after having decided to let her be and focus on his game; it seems Tobi hasn’t entirely let go of her. Despite the fact that his references aren’t very positive, he continues to talk about Cee-C and she about him.

It isn’t clear whether Tobi refuses to correctly read the signals Cee-C throws at him or simply isn’t aware of them. Whatever the case may be, Tobi has certainly switched off his sensitivity and has adopted an ‘i don’t care attitude’ that isn’t a true reflection of how he really feels.

It appears only time can decide their fate, especially given the fact that there are only a couple of weeks left for this season of #bbnaija.

Manchester United Unlikely To Sell Anthony Martial This Summer- Dider Deschamps

Featured Image

France head coach Didier Deschamps has claimed that Manchester United are not willing to sell Anthony Martial this summer.

Juventus has been linked with Anthony Martial, who has made only 16 starts for the Red Devils this term, but the national team coach believes that Jose Mourinho is keen to retain the 22-year-old’s services.

“The players know it would be better if issues in the market were resolved as soon as possible, but I know that won’t be the case,” Deschamps told Tuttosport.

“Martial has a contract with United and the club don’t want to sell him. We’ll see if he’s looked at, by Juve or anyone else.

“I don’t give advice, I give my opinion. In the end, it’s up to the players to decide.”

It’s A Good Time To Play Liverpool- Sam Allardyce

Featured Image

Everton manager Sam Allardyce believes that the timing of this weekend’s Merseyside derby could work to his side’s advantage.

Liverpool were involved in the UEFA Champions League against Manchester City in midweek and face them again in next week’s return leg

Everton boss, Sam Allardyce said that the demands this places on Jurgen Klopp and his squad could be exploited at Goodison Park on Saturday.

“It’s an advantage we could possibly take. It’s a good time to play a derby for us in between the two Champions League games. But Jurgen has a very strong squad and they haven’t let him down all season. If he changes his squad it will still be strong… and fresh,” Allardyce told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

“The players can do it if they really believe it. I know how to do it and the players have to know how to do it. We have to stand on the front foot, be brave and be clinical if we get an opportunity.”

Juanfran Confirms He’s Set To Sign A New Contract Extension With Atletico Madrid

Featured Image

Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran says he is close to signing a new contract with the La Liga club.

“I’m going to continue at Atletico,” he said after the Europa League win over Sporting Lisbon last night. “All that is missing is the signature, which is going to be done shortly.”

Following Thursday’s Europa League victory over Sporting Lisbon, all eyes are now on the short trip to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday for the derby with Real Madrid.

“I want to win on Sunday,” Juanfran affirmed. “It is a very special match.

“[The win over Sporting] was a great result, the team did a great job.

“Let’s now think about Real Madrid and the great game that we have to play at the Bernabeu, going there more united than ever to win.

“Winning a derby is very special. We are going to put all our heart into it and play to win, to get further away from third place and to be waiting on what Barcelona do.

“It will be decided in the details. We cannot go to the Bernabeu thinking that we will stay second even if we lose. We are winners.”

Antonio Conte Rejects Gianluca Vialli’s Claims Over His Future At Chelsea

Featured Image

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has dismissed Gianluca Vialli’s claims he is “almost looking forward to leaving Chelsea” as untrue.

Former Blues boss Vialli, who played alongside Conte for Juventus, told Sky in Italy his former team-mate appeared unsettled, suggesting both he and the club wanted to go in different directions at the end of the season.

But Conte said today: “It’s not true, it’s not true. Gianluca is a friend but I am not talking with him for one year maybe.”

“It’s not true. It’s very difficult for me but since this season [started] I am listening to a lot of speculation about my future and I am hearing a lot of people talking about my future.

“I am reading a lot of speculation about my future but [this has been] since the start of the season, not now.

“The only thing that is true is that I am committed to this club. I have a contract with this club. I work very hard for this club. This is the only thing that is true. The other situations are not true.”

HeBNaija 2018 Day 67: The Evolving Relationship Of Tobi And Alex

Featured Image

Busy as they were with their early partners at the time Cee-C and Leo, Alex and Tobi seem to have found a stern ally in each other at a much later stage of the season than other #bbnaija Housemates.

After Biggie decided to reshuffle the pairs, Tobi left Cee-C to end up reluctantly paired with Alex who had unpaired with Leo. Theirs wasn’t immediately a smooth relation as Tobi seemed to think very little about Alex whom he saw as a child, a criticism not a few of the other #bbnaija housemates have also bestowed on him.

Alex on the other hand though never uncomfortable, also seemed uncertain of where she stood with him. To be fair, Tobi stood no chance as Alex’s combined frankness and perceptiveness was something he couldnt avoid.

Not long after, Alex’s attributes jumped out at Tobi and ultimately melted his hardened hearts like snow under the sun. Add to it Alex’s inclination for frequent physical touch in all her interactions, and that saw any resistance Tobi may have tried to put up instantly mollified.

Gradually Alex and Tobi warmed up to each other as Alex seem to offer a much welcome breather to Tobi who had borne the brunt of Cee-C’s hot and fiery temper. As Alex’s light-heartedness lifted Tobi’s spirits, he went as far as making it clear to Cee-C that his interest in her had totally died.

He has kept his distances since from Cee-C, and fell back on Alex which allowed for a solid brotherhood bond to form between them.

As for Alex, her connection with Tobi only grew stronger after Leo’s departure. She seemed to have found in Tobi a brotherly figure, someone with whom she can be silly with and share a good gossip with. Together Tobi and Alex have let their inner child take over from all the ongoing Double Wahala in the #bbnaija house.

Since birds of a feather flock together, they were always the first on the #BBNaija Saturday night dancefloor and the last ones to leave. When things become too quiet in the #bbnaija House, they poke each other to keep the gist going.

If anything, the chemistry between Tobi and Alex has definitely spiced things up. What do you think?

Liverpool are favourites to sign Monaco teenager Christian Koffi when his contract expires this summer. The 17-year-old winger has been on the radar of many European clubs, but the player described as “similar to Sadio Mane,” looks set to join the Merseyside club. (L’Equipe)

Montreal Impact coach Remi Garde is interested in signing Hatem Ben Arfa when the player’s contract expires this summer. The 31-year-old has confirmed that he will leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, which has alerted compatriot Garde who moved to MLS at the end of last year. “We know each other very well,” said Garde. “If Hatem is coming to MLS, he is welcome here.” (L’Equipe)

Italy

Sami Khedira has denied that he spoke to a Sports Illustrated “source” about the arrival at Juventus of Emre Can. The American outlet claimed that the German midfielder confirmed that his compatriot would arrive in Turin, but the player himself has moved to deny the rumour. “A Sports Illustrated source heard me confirm Emre Can is coming to Juventus this summer,” he said. “Only one possible explanation: I have a secret twin brother. I don’t know what Emre will do next season.” (Various)

Napoli continue to look for a long term replacement for their 35-year-old goalkeeper Pepe Reina, and the latest name to be linked with the club is Bayer Leverkusen stopper Bernd Leno. Napoli’s director of football, Cristiano Giuntoli, has had his team of scouts working on the goalkeeper issue, and have identified Leno as an ideal replacement. (Corriere dello Sport)

The Serie A title challengers are also in the running to sign Frank Fabra, Boca Juniors’ Colombian left-back. The 27-year-old is also an Everton transfer target as they look for backup to Leighton Baines, but they now face competition from Maurizio Sarri’s side for the player who has a €15m (£13.1m) release clause. (Corriere dello Sport)

Germany

Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos, whose contract expires in 2019, is interesting Manchester United as well as Juventus. The Greek defender could be looking for one more move rather than sign a new deal which is on the table at his current club, and Jose Mourinho would rather sign him this summer than wait until 2019. (Kicker)

Galatasaray have shown interest in former Manchester United attacking midfielder Shinji Kagawa. The 29-year-old Japan international had been linked with a return to the Premier League, but the Turkish club are the latest side to show interest ahead of the summer transfer window. (Bild)

Spain

Basque TV station ETB have reported that Real Sociedad midfielder Sergio Canales will join Real Betis at the end of the season. The 27-year-old has made the most assists in the Europa League this season, with six, and looks set to move south to ply his trade in Seville next season. (ETB)

Real Madrid would have to transfer list Gareth Bale in order for him to leave the club. The Welshman is believed to want to stay in the Spanish capital regardless of stories that he is no longer an important player after spending recent Champions League games on the bench. (AS)

Buhari’s Corrupt List Of Looters

Buhari’s Corrupt List Of Looters, By Majeed Dahiru

CLICK here to read more opinion articles

Whenever the obviously abysmal performance of the Muhammadu Buhari administration appears to be gaining sustained attention, and leading to murmuring within the rank and file of his supporters, a tale of humungous looting by opposition elements is usually spun and thrown into the public space to distract people away from the core issue of the failure of governance.

This piece was written by Majeed Dahiru. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

Like a fit of de javu, the recently unveiled list of looters by Lai Mohammed, a fellow who comes across as more of President Muhammadu Buhari’s chief propagandist than a minister of the federal republic of Nigeria in charge of information and culture, didn’t come as a surprise. The list was all too familiar as the unveiling was just a summarised rehash of politically exposed individuals who are members of the opposition party, close associates of former President Goodluck Jonathan, particularly his appointees in government, who have been named and shamed several times in well-coordinated media trials.

First on Lai’s list was Uche Secondus, the chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Lai had this to say of Secondus: “On the 19th of February 2015, he took N200 million only from the office of the NSA”. An unidentified former financial secretary of the PDP was similarly accused of “taking” N600 million from the same office of the National Security Adviser. Lai Mohammed also re-revealed that frontline member of PDP and media mogul, who deployed his media power to promote Goodluck Jonathan by de-marketing the Buhari candidacy in the run up to 2015 presidential election, Raymond Dokpesi, is on trial for “taking” N2.1 billion from the office of the then NSA. Lai also reminded Nigerians that his shouting match and former spokesman of the PDP, Olisa Metuh is on trial for “collecting” N1.4 billion from the same office of the NSA. Lai Mohammed’s expanded follow up list included the usual suspects – former ministers, PDP state governors, service chiefs, presidential aides, associates and family members of former President Goodluck Jonathan, who were collectively accused of looting Nigeria of close to $2.1 billion through the office of the former NSA, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.). The choice of words like “took” and “collected” deployed by Lai to describe the manner in which those named received these monies was deliberate for the maximum effect of propaganda, portraying the accused persons as looters who broke into NSA vault and catered away boxes of cash at something akin to a gun point.

While the clamp down on PDP looters who supported Goodluck Jonathan and are still members of the former ruling party has been heavy handed, others who decamped from PDP to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the eve of the 2015 elections and supported candidate Buhari’s campaign with their share of loot have been forgiven. For example, former NSA, Sambo Dasuki is being treated as an apostate for his role in the disbursement of funds that were used to oil Goodluck Jonathan’s electioneering effort. He has been kept in detention illegally and in defiance of several judicial rulings. Whereas, Timipriye Silva, a former governor and PDP chieftain, who became a founding member and financier of APC, had his corruption charges quashed by a federal high court and Buhari’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) failed to appeal the N19.5 billion fraud case.

For a party that has been accused of destroying Nigeria by squandering accrued oil revenues estimated at over $500 billion in sixteen years, it is confounding that Lai’s list is not only exclusively comprised of PDP looters but also captures the last two years of PDP’s last lap in power and included just Goodluck Jonathan’s associates, who supported him against candidate Buhari, while also relating only to funds used in the last electioneering campaign of the PDP. Judging by the Buhari administration’s anti-corruption standard of an accusation being tantamount to guilt, in clear contempt of court proceedings by the resort to the naming and shaming suspects even before investigations and criminal prosecution are concluded and convictions obtained, it becomes curious that Lai’s list didn’t reveal any new name. Rather some names were either missing or omitted from what is a familiar list. This appears so because the bulk of PDP bigwigs who “destroyed” Nigeria in sixteen years of national rule are firmly in control of the APC, from its elected national executives to the National Assembly and appointed members of the federal executive council. The majority of APC-elected governors were also former members of the PDP. Even recently decamped PDP members to APC, such as Musiliu Obanikoro and Sulivan Chime, who have been prominently named and shamed in the recent past, were conspicuously missing from the released list of looters.

More curious are the missing names of some accused looters with marital ties to the first and second families. Gimba Yau Kumo, a former PDP appointed managing director of the Federal Mortgage Bank and now son-in-law of President Buhari, who was similarly accused of fraudulent activities amounting to about N3 billion and reportedly being investigated by EFCC, is missing from Lai’s list. Also missing on that list is Bola Shagaya. Arguably one of Africa’s richest women, with a reputation for close business and political ties to all first families in the past two decades, Bola Shagaya was exceptionally close to the Goodluck Jonathan family. Often described as a bosom friend of former first lady Patience Jonathan, she has been accused, in numerous instances, of acting as Patience Jonathan’s front for the laundering of illicit money estimated at over N13 billion, while engaging in other fraudulent activities involved in state capture. All that may be in the past now as she has found her way back to reckoning with the marriage of her son, Seun Bakare to Damilola, the daughter of Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo. Little wonder then, Bola Shagaya’s name is not on Lai’s looters list.

In a clear display of the arrogance of ignorance, the Buhari administration has narrowed its war on corruption to the hounding of members of the Jonathan administration, other individuals and organisations that were known to have worked against the emergence of the president in the 2015 presidential elections. This is clearly evident in the selective nature of the current anti-corruption effort. The tone of generalisation of the PDP as the problem of Nigeria, as an indicator of corruption, should make all members of PDP (both former and present) and their collaborators in other parties guilty, hence qualifying them for naming and shaming, while being liable for criminal prosecution.

Therefore, Buhari’s list of looters is devoid of integrity, because his selective war on corruption is indicative of corruption in itself. All that is required of a former PDP looter is to get baptised into APC and profess Buhari as the saviour of Nigeria. This is precisely responsible for the failure and ineffectiveness of the war on corruption. Nothing has changed as the current APC looters continue to loot Nigeria, while the redeemed former PDP looters continue to enjoy their loot in hibernation under the abundant grace of the infallible Buhari.

REVEALED: Nigeria Loses N1.4 Trillion On Petrol Subsidy Annually

Featured Image

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has disclosed that the subsidy on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol, currently stands at N1.4 trillion annually.

The minister said this during a stakeholders’ workshop to review the challenges of the Nigeria’s Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) sector.

He described the amount spent as “under-recovery”.

Kachikwu, who said the federal government is targeting ways to ease pressure on petrol, added that it would in the next couple of months unveil a roadmap that would address infrastructure deficits in the oil and gas sector.

According to him, it is time for Nigeria to harness alternative fuel sources like LPG as under-recovery from the importation and sale of petrol at the government-regulated price of N145 per litre has hit N1.4 trillion.

“It is a shame that at this stage in our national life, we are still talking about uses and challenges of the LPG. However, I think government is focused in all the areas.

“We are hoping to launch an infrastructure rebirth map for the oil sector over the next two months, and I hope his Excellency, the President will launch that.

“The effect is that it will be to open up tariff and create policy positions that will enable people to actually go in and invest in critical infrastructure that is needed.

“This is because anywhere you go, whether it is distribution of petroleum products massively through trucks, rather than through pipelines, whether its been able to take crude into refineries or distribute gas throughout the country, infrastructure is so key.

“There are lots of stranded gas and power everywhere. Distribution is key, infrastructure is key. “We need to find a way of finding enough incentives to enable the private sector go in very bullishly and put the money where it is supposed to be,’’ Kachikwu explained.

The minister said the issue of under-recovery was being addressed at a “very high level’’.

“Clean energy is very essential and we need to move away from complete utilisation in our transport sector of only petrol, which is creating a lot of under-recovery of N1.4 trillion per annum of exposure to the government.

“At the end of the day, we begin to go into other components of cleaner fuels and rely less on PMS that is gotten from out of the country,’’ he said.

Batshuayi Dreamed Of Dortmund Move

Featured Image

On loan Chelsea forward, Michy Batshuayi has revealed he had always wanted to line up for Dortmund.

The Belgium international joined Dortmund in the winter, after seeing playing time reduced at Chelsea.

Although Batshuayi is on a short term loan and expected to turn up for Chelsea.

Batshuayi said: “I have always wanted to play in Dortmund. I had already told reporters that.

“If you look, you only have to find statements I made at Standard. I was asked, ‘Which clubs do you want to play for during your career?’. I replied: ‘Marseille and Dortmund’.

“And now, I’m happy because I have been at both clubs – two major institutions in their respective countries and on the international scene.”

Batshuayi has netted eight times in his 12 appearances for Dortmund to date, with that return leaving him just two efforts short of the 10 he managed for Chelsea prior to heading for the exits.

Batshuayi Had Options In January

Featured Image

Michy Batshuayi has stated that he had a lot of options to consider in January, before settling on a move to Dortmund.

The Belgium international forward left Chelsea in January, after seeing his playing time reduced.

The deal to sign Batshuayi was completed on deadline day, as Chelsea got Giroud and Arsenal got Aubameyang, completed the deals.

The 24-year-old admits to being torn when the door was opened, and a little surprised at how quickly a deal was done, but believes he made the right choice, telling Onze Mondial: “I needed game time to find myself.

“There were a lot of possibilities.

“With Dortmund, it was done very quickly. I had a game with Chelsea the next day, I had scored a double in the previous match and everyone was counting on me. Suddenly, while I was walking in the city, I found myself on a plane.

“On the one hand, I was happy to leave because I knew that I was going to benefit from more playing time. On the other, I had just put in some very good performances with Chelsea and the club would have preferred that I stayed.”

#BBNaija 2018 Day 67: Anto Has Her Buttocks Printed

Featured Image

As part of the #bbnaija Housemates art creations, Anto added a kinky twist to hers by printing her naked buttocks on a piece of canvas.

The art idea was originally a dare that Tobi had made earlier this week, even as he seemed to have taken his flirting with Anto ever since she and Lolu locked lips to a whole new level.

The whole drama took place in the bathroom, where under Khloe’s watchful eagle eyes, Anto walked in with a towel around her waist, opened it before turning her back to Tobi who then applied layers of blue and pink paint to her backside.

Tobi then brought two pieces of white canvas on which Anto quickly sat to print her body part on it. It was a rather funny mission, as the three of them were, like partners in crime, in a hurry to expedite the matter so as not to draw attention from the rest of the #bbnaija House.

All the while, Lolu who had voiced his opposition to Tobi’s taunt was kept far away from the scene of the drama by the trio.

For all the Mr Muscle role that Tobi has been playing in the #bbnaija House, he surprisingly revealed artistic talents and a sensitivity to provocative art that moved the House. Tobi’s painting of a woman’s face many attributed to being Cee-C seemed to have left his peers speechless.

Anto on her part had shared with Lolu that she had taken some art classes in the past. As one of the strongest willed Housemate, Anto has been able to have her way with pretty much anyone in the #bbnaija House, as both the guys and girls equally admire and fear her wits.

With this buttocks printing challenge, Anto has proven once more that she brought along a lot more fun from when she was evicted and back into the Double Wahala game.

Nigeria To Grant Temporary Protection To 20,485 Cameroonian Refugees

Featured Image

The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) country representative, Antonio Canhandula, have said that the Federal Government would recognise 20,485 Cameroonian refugees on a ‘temporary protection basis’.

The refugees are temporarily sheltered in the Southeast states of Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Benue and Taraba in the Northeast region of the country.

Canhandula in a statement issued on Thursday in Maiduguri, disclosed that the refugees were informed of government’s decision to recognize them on a temporary protection basis.

According to him, individual documentation will be issued to those so far registered and recognised.

“Our mission was to access the needs of refugees and draft a protection strategy for the Cameroonian refugees’ situation in Nigeria,” he said.

He said there was the need to relocate the refugees from the Nigeria-Cameroon border areas, noting that there were reports of new arrival of Cameroonian refugees in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Benue and Taraba.

On the continued influx of refugees, Canhandula said: “The UN refugees’ agency and national authorities will continue with their registration to track their influx into Nigeria.

“The presence of registration officers will improve tracking and registration of new arrivals from Cameroun. Registration officers will be able to cover Akwa Ibom and Taraba from their bases in Cross River and Benue at the same time.”

He pointed out that besides the issuance of individual documentation for temporary protection of the refugees, 11,757 of them were given food and Non-Food Items (NFIs) in Cross River state in the first quarter of this year.

He added that 605 refugees were also provided with shelter during the same period.

He disclosed that the UNHCR requires $80.3 million, an equivalent of N28.91 billion to fully implement its operational plans this year.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 67: Cee-C And Khloe Form An Unexpected Alliance

Featured Image

The duo of Cee-C and Khloe are probably the most fiery of the #bbnaija housemates and have been known not to acknowledge any criticism, which has confirmed their line of thought from the onset.

Forever discreet, Khloe’s sidekick Rico had joined in the concentrate of gossip session. Yet he looked out of place and appeared to be more like Khloe’s third wheel as he had his ‘meme’ face on during the chatter. Rico’s silence could have perhaps been caused by the fact that he had put Cee-C up for possible Eviction.

As the days go by, the #bbnaija House has been divided and Housemates are holed up in different corners carrying on conversations that are ironically similar.

On the other side, in the Dressing Room, Alex and Tobi were also going on about Cee-C. Even though they had both agreed they didn’t want to talk much, they still kept talking endlessly about her.

After a while the trio of Cee-C, Rico and Khloe moved to the luxury bedroom and made themselves comfortable before beginning another round of conversations but this time about their careers after leaving the #bbnaija House.

Khloe kicked things off with a pep talk, and urged them not to under estimate themselves. Cee-C shared that she had dabbled in property sales and even food selling at a point in her life and is waiting to see the direction things go.

Yet the chatterboxes went on and on this time about former #bbnaija Housemates Teddy A and Bambam, and didn’t notice that Rico had drifted off to sleep.

The coming together of Khloe and Cee-C is akin to a wolf in sheep’s clothing calling a lamb guilty. The Trouble with the alliance is both are wolves that like to act as lambs and are perhaps guilty of what people accuse them of.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 67: Housemates Secure 75 Percent of Their Wager

Featured Image

For the wager challenge on the night of day 67, big brother introduced another set of twists, seeing as a majority of their wars are food related, and the #bbnaija Housemates had no choice but to fully engage.

Just as it has been during the last couple of weeks, the #bbnaija Housemates were not afforded the luxury of deciding how much they’d put on the line as Biggie had already decided on their behalf.

The Challenges were divided into 8 uneven parts that were accompanied by cards marked with the chunk of the Wager they represented. Cards 2 and 8 weighed 25%, card 3 weighed a whopping 50% and the rest of the cards had no value attached to them.

Replicating last week’s Task that was won courtesy of Bambam and Miracle, the Challenges were to test the #bbnaija Housemates’ retentive memory, colour and water skills.

Anto and Lolu were chosen as the first pair of representative, Tobi and Khloe being the second and Rico assumed the loner’s responsibility.

The Challenge was easy when narrated, but it proved a bit challenging practically as the two pairs failed their first and second attempts at cracking the colour coded puzzles put before them.

They were to observe the order in which the boards appeared and replicate them on their own boards. Both Lolu and Khloe were dunked twice but managed to escape another involuntary dive as Anto and Tobi finally replicated the colour boards and earned the #bbnaija House the first two Wager cards.

Card 1 weighing absolutely nothing and card 2 guaranteeing them a quarter of their Wager.

For the Loner’s Challenge, Rico Swavey was given a rather messy ultimatum. He could either take the Card and forfeit his chances as landing Head of house or retain them and go back to the #bbnaija House without any gifts.

He opted to go ahead and face the Challenge but when Biggie listed his very limited options, he decided to take one for the team and increase their chances of avoiding the hunger bullet.

This noble act saw the #bbnaija Housemates bagging 50% of their Wager, lifting them to the 75% heights and that much closer to a clean win.

With 25% and 5 cards remain, with 75% already guaranteed, it is left to be seen if the housemates will be able to earn the rest of their Wager.

Israel Ogunsola: Another Nigerian Stabbed To Death In London

Featured Image

An 18-year-old Nigerian, Israel Ogunsola, who was stabbed to death on Wednesday night in Hackney, London.

Ogunsola’s death is coming barely less than 10 days after Abraham Badru, son of Enitan Badru, a member of the House of Representatives, was shot dead in the UK.

It is understood that Ogunsola was attacked on Wednesday while cycling in Hackney, east London. The computer programming student was found by police at 8pm and given first aid but pronounced dead at the scene 25 minutes later.

Like many recent deaths in the capital, Mr Ogunsola’s killing is thought to be gang-related.

The Sun UK reports that Israel had survived a previous attack when he was targeted alongside a friend on Old Street, north London, as a “warning” by a rival gang.

A friend, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “Israel was lovely, I couldn’t believe it when I heard he had been killed.

“He was stabbed five times at St Bart’s Court over New Year as well, I would not have let him out the house if it were my son.

“I cannot believe that this has happened to him, that stabbing was a warning and now he is dead.

“He nearly died. They had to save his life.”

Devastated pals referenced deadly gang turf disputes and “post code wars” while paying tribute to the “intelligent and humble” IT student.

Morgan, 19, told Sun Online: “I would just like to say that he was the most kind-hearted guy ever! A soul that will truly be missed by many.

“He’s a friend that wouldn’t see you everyday but when he did see you it’s like you never missed a day without each other.

“Honestly a good guy with great intentions.”

An 18-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested on suspicion of murder last night.

Meanwhile, the victim’s father, Dele Ogunsola, who spoke to EveningStandard demanded that the “bloodshed must stop”.

Dele said his family has been living in London since 1985.

His words: “My son was a well brought up boy who respected everyone and was liked by all and sundry.”

“He was thoughtful and joyous and had lots of friends. He went out on his bicycle and never came back. He was on his own as far as I know, maybe it was a robbery, the police have not told me.

“We are struggling to come to terms with what has happened. He has an older brother and sister, he was the baby of the house. We are all heartbroken.

“The bloodshed must stop. London’s streets are so dangerous. Young people are being slaughtered every day. If it means bringing back more stop and search, then so be it. We have to tackle this problem and the Government needs to do more.”
