Why I’ll Vote Buhari Again And Again, By Femi Adesina

The greatest talking point in our country this week has been the declaration by President Muhammadu Buhari that he would seek a second term in office next year. And naturally so. Desire by any president, whether positive or negative, should elicit great interest in the citizenry. The president that should be pitied is the one that says something, and the people just shrug, unconcernedly. He is, of all men, the most miserable.

As to be expected, the notice given by President Buhari has engendered diverse emotions and reactions. The joy kiln has ben kindled in the hearts of many millions. They are exultant and ecstatic. I am in that number.

While millions are like Romeos beholding their Juliets, others on the flip-side, however, are like King Leah at his worst. It was as if they got blows to the solar plexus. Ouch! And they are wailing, kicking and screaming. Mournfully so. The days of their rustication from power will be extended, and they can’t bear it. Doomsday is elongated, doors to freebies shut again. They are quite vocal, but much smaller in number, and the elections next year will so prove. There’s still plenty where the bloody nose of 2015 came from.

Now, despite the challenges in the country (and there are very many of them), from Enugu to Borno, Benue to Zamfara, Oke Ogun farmlands in Oyo to Mambilla in Taraba, Plateau to Edo/Delta, virtually everywhere, why is President Buhari still the man to beat? That is the purpose of this piece.

Some of the challenges in the country are genuine. Some others are orchestrated by those the president would say are playing “irresponsible politics.” For such people, they would first urinate inside the well they want to draw drinking water from. They would gladly step into power, treading on skulls and crossbones, and on the flowing blood of innumerable countrymen. Ogres! But Nigerians are wiser. They know those who are serving them, and who wish to serve more for altruistic reasons. They also know those who just want to grab power, so that the country can return to business as usual, and their snouts can be dipped in the honeypot once again.

I’ll vote for President Buhari over and over, again and again, because he can be trusted. You can trust him with the resources of the country. He won’t filch them. You can trust him with power. He won’t misuse it. You can trust him with the well being of the land, he cares. I remember one night, I had gone to the residence to see the president. It was about 8 p.m, and there were just two of us in the waiting room. The other elderly fellow has held power at very senior levels in the country. He had even aspired for the highest office in the land. So, he knows what he’s talking about.

He told me: “Look at this sprawling place. Just two of us waiting to see the president. It didn’t use to be like this. Up to 3 a.m. daily, the place used to be like a market, filled with men, women from within and outside the country. They would come to seal all kinds of deals on petroleum, power, transport, iron and steel, and all others. And of course, the president and his household would always have a cut. The wheeler-dealers would also have their cut. Who dares approach this president with such proposals? That is why you see so much sanity here.”

A president who won’t sell our collective patrimony, while the rest of the country is sleeping. That’s the one I want. And we all know that man.

Accountability is another reason. Under some presidents, the rich gets richer, while the poor gets prison. Not under Buhari. The resources of the country are for the people of the country. The greatest good to the greatest number of people. The last administration (we won’t and can’t stop talking about them, never!) sat over resources in billions of dollars. Oil prices hit $140 dollars per barrel under their watch, and stabilised at about $100-110 for a number of years. They met our foreign reserves at $62 billion. When they left, it was just $29.6 billion, yet oil prices had hit the rooftops. What happened? Thievery. Today, with oil prices having dropped to about $30 per barrel in 2015, and now oscillating between $60 and $70 dollars per barrel, our reserves have hit $47 billion, and they are still growing. Prudence. Transparency. Resourcefulness. Accountability. Will I then exchange this type of government for another? That would mean willful blindness, after our sights had been amazingly restored. That would mean willful backsliding into perdition, after we had been wonderfully saved.

Still talking of accountability, you must have heard of the billions and trillions of naira that accrued to government from agencies like the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), and many others in recent times. These agencies are not newly created. So, what happened to revenues they made in the past? Your guess is as good as mine. Will I then leave terra firma for terra incognita? God forbid! Because an accountable man is in the driver’s seat, the virtue is now flowing downwards.

Elections are coming. And there’s no need to fear. Why? Because the will of Nigerians will not be subverted. Never! A president once told us in this country that the coming polls would be do or die. Not with President Buhari. Fair is fair. No foul play. Under his watch, his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lost gubernatorial elections in Bayelsa and Anambra States. At the last Council of States meeting, Governor Willie Obiano publicly registered his appreciation to President Buhari, for the level playing ground he made available during the election in his State. With do or die apostles, and a certain political party in power, such would never happen. Not with their garrison mentality. All States are territories that must be conquered, willy-nilly.

APC has won gubernatorial positions under Buhari in Kogi, Ondo and Edo States. The victories were fair and square. The party lost in Bayelsa and Anambra. This president would never manipulate victory for anyone, not even his own party. And you ask me not to trust him? I will, and no mistake.

Global respect. That is what Nigeria has today. I’ve accompanied President Buhari to over 30 countries in about three years. And he has been resetting the buttons, relaying the foundation of relationships with those countries. And how the leaders’ respect him. And they say it. Barack Obama, the then American president said the Nigerian leader came to his job with a “reputation of integrity.” At another time, while introducing our president to the Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, he said:”Meet the Nigerian President, who is doing a very good job.” And the latter concurred.

In Britain, when David Cameron was prime minister, he had made a faux pas when he named Nigeria and some other countries as being “fantastically corrupt.” And who rose in defence of the Nigerian leader? The Archbishop of Canterbury, His Grace Justin Welby, who said; “but this particular president is not corrupt.” And you ask me to throw away such president when he still wants another term? I’ll vote for him again and again, no matter what naysayers claim.

What of the personal virtues? I sit with him, speak with him, and I know. Discipline. Simplicity. Love of country. Lack of greed. A heart for the poor and downtrodden. A realisation of the ephemeralness of power, and of life itself. These are things that resonate in his speeches. They don’t make them like this anymore. And then, I should prematurely jettison the one I have? Even the Heavens will hold a people who take such decision in derision.

Some people ask: Where are the achievements? Well, if they are of such mindset, unfortunately they can’t be helped. We don’t have the authority to mix spittle with clay, put on their eyes, and direct them to go to Siloam pool, wash, and come back seeing. Once anybody decides to be willfully blind, no matter what you push in front of his eyes, he wouldn’t see. If he decides to be willfully deaf, even if there are thunder peals by his ears, he won’t hear. Those of us that manage the media of the president put all the activities and achievements in the public domain. They claim not to know. Good luck to them. Those who know, really know. And they are the millions who will stand by the president any day. Strides in security, agriculture, anti-corruption, infrastructure, and many others are evident. When they drive on Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, Aba Port Harcourt Expressway, and hear that early works on the Second Niger Bridge have reached about 45 percent completion, and still refuse to believe, what then can anybody still do? But thankfully, those who believe far outnumber the inveterate cynics.

They talk of the economy, and make it appear as if the heavens were falling upon them. But the economy, according to pundits, began to slow down in 2012. By 2014, it was poised for recession. Before the last administration left, Nigeria was already borrowing to pay salaries, as confirmed by Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. And that was in spite of trillions earned from oil. By 2016, recession was inevitable. But for how long did it last? Just one year. Due to deft footworks, sound economic policies, transparency and accountability, we were soon out. Today, inflation rate has fallen for the 13th month running. The auguries are good for the economy, but all they want to wail about is hunger, to deceive and beguile. But Nigerians know. They know where food self-sufficiency is coming from. They know where their future and those of their children will be guaranteed. The polls would prove it next year.

When we were awash with money, what happened to infrastructure? Simply nothing. Power, roads, rail, bridges. Nothing! Now, when we are earning about 60 percent less than what we used to earn, those things are coming. Power was inherited at about 3,000 megawatts, with a large chunk of it not distributable. Today, power generation stands at over 7,000 megawatts, and over 5,000 MW is distributed. Rail projects will cover the national landscape within the next one year. Abandoned projects are being resuscitated nationwide. Recently, the N8.5 billion water project in Otuoke, Bayelsa State, came on stream. It was not achieved when a native of the area was president. The Lagos-Otta-Abeokuta road has been awarded. It was not done when a son of the area was in power. The dredging of Warri port for N13 billion has been awarded. Was it awarded when a native of the region was in office for six years? Nigeria is making tremendous progress, and things can only get better.

For the first time in the history of the country, stealing has become corruption. It didn’t use to be so, particularly in the last epoch. No wonder the Excess Crude Account was looted dry. Foreign reserves drawn down. Federation Account, emptied. And the economy was set on an irreversible path to recession. And they say: Don’t talk about it. Focus on the present and the future only. How we miss Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. He would have said: “I go shout o, I go shout plenty o.” If we don’t focus on the past, we are then liable to make the same mistakes. “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” (George Santayana).

Stolen monies are being recovered in billions of naira and dollars, and being appropriated and spent on infrastructure. Properties acquired with laundered funds are being seized. President Buhari has promised to sell them, and return the funds into the public treasury. No wonder some people are running scared, and had tried earnestly to dissuade the man from going for a second term in office. But the die is cast. Let each mother warn her child. Days of reckoning will come.

A party left the country in ruins after 16 years. It is now crying that the edifice has not been rebuilt in three years. Is it not easier to destroy than to rebuild? The rebuilding of Nigeria is proceeding apace. Another term for President Buhari will take the job very far. Consolidation of the good works is good prospect, not only for us, but also our children. Things may be tough for Nigerians now, but they are like birth pangs, which begin to fade at a point. And they are fading. A woman brings forth only with pains, tears and groaning. But when she beholds her baby, all those pale into insignificance. A new dawn, new visitation is coming our way. We can see the Promised Land. Nothing should stop us from stepping into it.

Archbishop Justin Welby, head of the Anglican Communion Worldwide, told President Buhari in London this week: “Great statesmen are those who run for the good of their country.” Spot-on. The 2019 race is not for self, but for the good of the country. Discerning Nigerians did it in 2015. In greater numbers, they are poised to do it again in 2019.

Ladies Still Flock Around Me Despite Being Married” – D’banj

Featured Image

Nigerian singer, D’banj, also known as Koko Master by fans has revealed that most ladies still consider him sexy despite being married and growing grey hairs.

In a recent interview with Saturday Beats, D’Banj stated that he decided not to rid his grey hair because ladies have expressed their love for it and it’s also a sign that he has money and wisdom.

In his words;

“I love the fact that I am having grey beard. In Africa, it is a sign of wisdom. I thought one had to be 50 years and above before getting it but recently, I learnt that it comes out when you are wise and have money.

So, it is obvious to the world that I have money and wisdom.

“I know I am already growing grey beard and I leave it alone because the ladies tell me that it is sexy.

I cannot speak for any other person but I still have my sex appeal. We were just on the red carpet together before coming to this VIP section and you noticed what happened. The ladies still flock around me despite being married.

You can count how many guys greeted me compared to a large number of ladies that came to me for pictures and just to talk to me.

I think it is the grace of God and the brand cannot change. It is not as if I am going to let go of this part of me. Yes, being married has changed a little thing about me but business remains business”.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 75: The Fallout Of Khloe And Cee-C

Featured Image

With at least one Eviction pending, and just days from the Finale, most of the #bbnaija Housemates have resolved their differences and bonded even more. Somehow Cee-C and Khloe don’t seem to have gotten the memo as evidenced by the icy silence that has grown between them since their sudden closness.

Just a few days ago, Khloe and Cee-C were all over each other, chatting for hours like teenagers about anything. What may have appeared like a genuine warm-up didn’t manage to make up for the fact that both had a long record of acrimonious fights in the #bbnaija House.

Yet and perhaps under Khloe’s strategic skills, they gave us some pretty good entertainment, for at long last, Cee-C seem to had found a ‘friend’, whom she seemed to actually like. It also helped that they were the two least open to Mr Lawrence gruelling morning workouts.

However, her joy didn’t last long. It is hard to explain how sudden Khloe and Cee-C have turned their back on each other. Surely when Rico was still in the #bbnaija House, he may have been the glue that brought them together for his soothing presence had always helped pacify even the hardest hearts.

Khloe made no secret of her grieving his departure, which may explain why she had suddenly withdrawn from her budding connection with Cee-C. Or it might well be that with so much at stake and being so close from the Prize, both hot-headed #bbnaija Housemates maye have decided to bottle up for the sake of making it until the end.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 75: Housemates Rock It With DJs Spinal And Obi, As Miracle Wins Big

Featured Image

Pepsi ambassadors, DJ Spinall and DJ Obi visited the Big Brother House and the #bbnaija Housemates got into the groove when they started showing them how the decks work.

With all the excitement flying around with having visitors, the #bbnaija Housemates didn’t hesitate inquiring from the DJ’s about their line of work.

Part of the visit included showing the #bbnaija Housemates how their decks worked and the DJ’s also gave them a chance to be the ones connecting the equipment. This came with a few little sound bangs that startled them a bit, but they were able to handle everything like pros.

As we’ve seen before, the #bbnaija Housemates aren’t shy when it comes to rocking the dance floor, and this time they didn’t disappoint.

Thanks to the visit of the duo, the mood in the #bbnaija House lighted up as they had spent most of their day sleeping and trying to find missing pieces to a puzzle.

Dressed in their Pepsi branded regalia, the DJ’s entrance was also highlighted with the fact that they came bearing gifts for the Housemates. Each Housemate got a Pepsi backpack with their face on and hoodies with their names written on the backs.

In between their moments on the dance floor, the #bbnaija Housemates also got mixing tutorials. DJ Obi and DJ Spinall took time to explain the dynamics involved in making sure everyone in the crowd being entertained is catered for.

There was also a window open for one of the Housemates to try spinning the decks which Anto took and for a brief moment others were watching her spin.

Miracle won the Refresh the Mix task and as a reward, he received one million Naira and he’ll be travelling with the Pepsi ambassadors to the One Africa Music Festival. On top of all the travelling in and around the continent and getting all excess VIP treatments, he’ll also get a year’s supply of Pepsi.

The rest of the #bbnaija Housemates were not left behind, as they also got invited to the Pepsi’s Lituation Party.

Avengers Infinity War Director Says Thanos Is A Lot Stronger Than The Hulk

Featured Image

Avengers Infinity War Director, Joe Russo confirmed what all Marvel fanboys have always known but just needed to be retold for the sake of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Mad Titan, Thanos is physically stronger than the Hulk.

During a press event for the upcoming movie in London, the director explained that Thanos was ‘fairly invincible’ and if it was a straight up battle between the Hulk and the Titan even without the infinity stones, the latter would come out victorious.

“I mean it’s like death comes to call for the Avengers,” he said. “This is a nearly unbeatable force who is determined to destroy half the life in the universe to bring it to balance. He sees it as an overgrown garden that he needs to prune. As you mentioned, he is fairly invincible. He’s a sort of genetic mutation who’s the Genghis Khan of the universe. He’s unbeatable on the battlefield, stronger than the Hulk, skin is invincible. So it’s going to cost the Avengers something to defeat him.”

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27 and maybe we’ll get to see Thanos and the Hulk go one on one.

Klopp: Liverpool Destined To Play Roma

Featured Image

Jurgen Klopp will be taking inspiration from Liverpool’s success in Rome, after they were paired with Roma.

Liverpool will face Roma in the semifinal of the UCL, after dumping out City and Barcelona respectively.

Liverpool have fond memories of playing in Rome, winning the 1977 and 1984 UCL titles at Stadio Olimpico.

And Liverpool manager Klopp is relishing the club’s return to the Italian capital in pursuit of their sixth European crown.

“I will watch them for sure because it is destiny,” Klopp said. “If any German goes to Bern in Switzerland he cannot avoid thinking about 1954.

“There are not a lot of people around on the planet from that time now but it is just a special place. You think, ‘Ok, it happened here, well done, all these guys’.

“Those Liverpool teams were great but they became great in these situations and now people say ‘They did it like this’. It is good to have role models but in the end you have to do it your own way.

“Thank God Rome is still Rome. It is the place, it is not who did what, it’s the place. I love our history but it is not allowed for us to compare it constantly.”

“Like someone said [we have] to write our own history. The legends we all love are around and they are clapping because they like this,” he continued.

“Kenny Dalglish is over the moon and completely on fire. Steven Gerrard and all the other guys in between, you can feel it and see it. That’s cool.

“Now it’s a case of attitude, character stuff like that. That you stay greedy, and want to do the next step. When it’s like constantly so fantastic, it’s the first step to not be fantastic anymore and we have to stay this kind of angry. There is so much to go for and it will never stop.”

Klopp added: “Of course if I find something that helped make this place even more remarkable or special for Liverpool then I will use it.”

Liverpool host Roma at Anfield on April 24 in the first leg of their semi-final tie and play the return leg in Roma on May 2.

Offa Robbery: Police Arrests 12 Suspects, Recovers Stolen Items

Featured Image

Officers of the Nigerian Police Force have arrested 12 additional suspects in connection with the April 5, 2018 bank robbery at Offa in Kwara State.

This is after the police had arrested eight suspects within the first two days of the attack, bringing the number of suspects in their custody to 20.

In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshood, in Abuja on Friday, it is understood that the police recovered some stolen items from the suspects which include phones, IPads and SIM cards belonging to those who were killed during the robbery.

He added that the suspects all confessed to the crime.

Those arrested included Adegoke Shogo, 29; Kayode Opadokun, 35; Kazeem Abdulrasheed, 36; Azeez Abdullahi, 27; Alexander Reuben, 39; and Jimoh Isa, 28; who were both arrested in Lagos.

Others were Azeez Salawudeen, 20; Adewale Popoola, 22; Adetoyese Muftau, 23; and the trio of Aminu Ibrahim, 18; Richard Terry, 23; and Peter Kuunfa, 25; who were apprehended in Ilorin.

“These last three suspects were found with a Beretta pistol and 14 rounds of live ammunitions, which were recovered,” Moshood stated.

Other exhibits recovered were Beretta pistol, 20 rounds of live ammunition, four phones and SIM cards.

He explained that an investigation team deployed in Kwara State by the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, arrested the suspects, noting that some of them engaged the team in exchange of gunfire.

The Force PRO stated that the suspect named Shogo, alleged to be a drug baron and dealer in Indian hemp, was arrested in Offa.

He said, “According to intelligence gathered from cultivated and reliable informant, he is alleged to be one of the sponsors of the robbery and the attack on the police station in Offa. He has made useful statements on the roles he played in the armed robbery.”

Herdsmen Attack: Death Toll Rises To 67 In Benue

The number of people that have been feared dead following attacks by suspected herdsmen in military uniform at the Benue State border communities of Akaanya, Tse Gbum, Kpete and Ulam, all in Ukum Council, has risen to 67, as twenty-six more bodies were yesterday recovered.

According to sources in the areas, the attacks were carried out by men dressed in Army uniform, who were said to be looking for their missing persons in another border town in Taraba State.

Herdsmen Murder 36 Persons In Benue, Taraba

An aide to the Chairman of Ukum Local Council, who pleaded for anonymity, said the 26 bodies were only those recovered yesterday morning.

He said: “As it is now, we have recovered 26 bodies. Yesterday, about 41 persons were killed in Jande Ikura, a community between Benue and Taraba states. We learnt that during the attack, three bodies recovered were those of men dressed in military uniform.”

“Between 10:00a.m. and 11:00a.m. yesterday, the same suspected gunmen in Army uniform crossed over to some communities in Benue and started shooting and killing people, claiming that they were looking for their missing persons.“They entered Akaanya, Tse Gbum, Kpete, which is a riverine area, and Ulam, all in Benue, and killed the 26 persons there. Many people are still missing.”

“These people came from Kente in Taraba State to launch the attack and after that, they retreated to their base at Kente.”

In his narration, while fielding questions from pressmen on Friday after the state Security Council meeting, the state Deputy Governor, Benson Abounu, denied any knowledge of the killings in Ukum, but said only two persons were killed in Makurdi metropolis by herdsmen.

He said: “I have not been briefed on the casualty killings in Ukum. We have had a Security Council meeting, but nobody mentioned anything like that to me.”

On whether he had received a briefing from the Ukum Council chairman, Abounu said:

“No, the Ukum local government chairman has not briefed me yet.

“In the Security Council meeting, we emphasised the need for security in the state to be proactive, rather than being reactive.

“What they have been doing is that they only go to repel attacks and return, instead of mounting checks on the flashpoints.”

“With this kind of strategy, before sometimes before they get to where the attacks are taking place, the damage is already done.”

Nigerian Court Sentences Police Officer To Death

Featured Image

The High Court sitting in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Friday, April 13, sentenced a Police officer, Sergeant Vincent Manu, to death for unlawfully shooting and killing a businessman, Stephen Anakwe, after labeling him as an armed robber.

Nigerian Guardian reports that the accused was arraigned alongside five other officers – Inspectors Danladi Lenkem and Edula Ateku, who died in the process of the trial, Corporals Samson Magga and Musa Audu, as well as Christopher Maikasuwa – on a charge of criminal conspiracy to kill the deceased while they were on patrol duty.

The presiding judge, Justice James Abundega, found Manu, who carried out the shooting, guilty of murder, saying the prosecution was able to prove by cogent circumstantial evidence that the convict intentionally killed the deceased.

In his judgment, the Judge rejected the defendant’s plea of self-defence, adding that based on the evidence before him, the plea of self-defence was not plausible and that the prosecution had proved its case beyond reasonable doubt.

He said the offence contravened Section 220 and punishable under Section 221 of the Penal Code. He, however, absolved the other police officers mentioned above of any wrongdoing. They were discharged and acquitted.

The judge further held that the prosecution had proved beyond reasonable doubt, all the ingredients of the offence of culpable homicide, as provided for in Section 220 of the Penal Code, adding:

“In the circumstances, the court finds the defendant guilty of the charge of causing the death of late Stephen Anakwe on January 13, 2012. He is accordingly convicted

“Before the court pronounce sentence on the defendant, given that allocutus is not applicable, in view of the mandatory nature of the sentence, it needs be said that the defendant came to his present circumstances on the account of apparent abuse of power and unbridled show of might.”He said that officers, who under the law are to perform the duties of detecting, apprehending offenders and protecting lives and property of citizens, end up oppressing, brutalising and even killing them, noting that Section 222 of the Penal Code was not applicable here, in view of the absence of any evidence or contention by the defendant that he caused the deceased’s death.

“In the light of the above, the punishment for the offence of culpable homicide, which the defendant has been convicted of, is mandatory death sentence.

“The court does not have discretion to impose any other punishment, much as it may, the law must be fulfilled at all times and in all situations. The defendant, having been convicted for the offence of culpable homicide under Section 221 of the Penal Code, as charge, is sentenced to death.

“The sentence of the court upon you is that you be hanged by the neck until you be dead,” he said.

Counsel to the convict, E.E. Dabo, whose plea to the Judge to temper justice with mercy on the fact that the convict had served the country as a Police officer for 20 years and has a family, dependents and relations, fell on deaf ears, said he would consult with his clients to know the next line of action as regards appealing the judgment.

Meanwhile, the younger brother of the deceased, Stanley Anakwe, thanked God that the court had vindicated his late brother and that justice has been done after six years of court process.

The deceased, a resident of Zaria road in Jos, Plateau State, was killed by the Police patrol team on the said date and was buried secretly in the early hours of the next day without making any efforts to contact his family members.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 75: Alex Plays Mediator For Tobi And Cee-C

Featured Image

Like she had done for Miracle and Nina, in her capacity as Head of the #bbnaija House, Alex made it her responsibility to bring about a ceasefire between Cee-C and Tobi.

Last night while lying in bed with her buddy Tobi, Alex encouraged him to go talk to Cee-C to put their differences aside. Earlier Lolu had found it saddening that these two who had started the whole romantic game in the #bbnaija House, had so dramatically fallen apart and were at daggers drawn.

It was painful for all to see how Tobi and Cee-C who were once a power couple in the #bbnaija House, had come to give each other the silent treatment, to an extent where they indirectly slur each other when they were not talking over each other.

Yet no Housemate had failed to notice that Cee-C couldn’t help from glancing at Tobi, when she thought no one was watching.

Since Tobi seems to hold Alex’s friendship in high esteem, it was a no brainer for him to follow up on her advice and go find Cee-C. For over three hours and up until the wee hours of the morning, the two went over their respective arguments, alternatively blaming and taking responsibility for their past misdeeds and miscommunications.

Cee-C said it would take to watch the entire #BBNaija show again to identify their shortcomings. While Tobi said he felt like he wasn’t himself when they were together. Their long overdue talk ended up on a good note, even though they both seem to agree that a friendship outside the House was impossible.

As fate had it, Lolu peaked through the bathroom where they were holding their chat to encourage them to admit their respective wrongs as a way to move forward. Tobi seem to be the one to have most benefited from the open-heart conversation, for he had thanked Alex for her initiative and said he was feeling relieved.

Cee-C for her part didn’t say much, perhaps holding onto her glimpse of newfound happiness and just choosing not to show her emotions. Clearly, with just one Saturday left before the last, it looks like Tobi and Cee-C have no possibility nor desire to makeup and brew romance and it seems they can’t recover the time they have lost.

#GC2018Athletics: Nigeria Wins Bronze In The Women’s 4x100m At Commonwealth Games

Featured Image

Team Nigeria chimed its first relay medal at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Nigeria women’s 4x100m team competed on Saturday morning at the Carrara Stadium and claimed the bronze medal at the event

Joy Udo-Gabriel who is making her Commonwealth Games debut, ran a good first leg to hand over to Blessing Okagbare who took the second leg, Tobi Amusan – who won gold in the 100m hurdles final last night, crossed the line in third place to claim bronze ahead of Trinidad and Tobago

England however completed a 4x100m double at the Commonwealth Games with victory in the women’s event at the Carrara Stadium this afternoon.

England’s men had won gold less than 20 minutes prior to the race, and a team of Asha Philip, Dina Asher-Smith, Bianca Williams and Lorraine Ugen ensured that they would also be standing atop the podium with a national-record time.

A blistering second leg from Asher-Smith took England into the driving seat at the halfway stage of the race, and Williams increased that lead going into the home straight.

It looked at one stage as though Ugen might be caught by the Jamaicans on the inside lane, but she held off the challenge of double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson to claim gold by just 0.06s.

The Jamaican quartet of Christania Williams, Natasha Morrison and Gayon Evans were forced to settle for silver as they surrendered their title from Glasgow four years ago.

Patience Okon-George who also won Silver last time around, gave it her all as the most experienced member of the Gold Coast quartet, and established the lead for Nigeria to hand over the baton to Glory Nathaniel, with Praise Idamadudu and Yinka Ajayi completing the job and bringing home the baton in 3:25.29 in 2nd place

Home nation Australia had to settle for fifth place while England took fourth position

#BBNaija 2018 Day 75: Housemates Admit To Missing Rico Swavey

Featured Image

All the #bbnaija Housemates seem to be missing the last evictee from the house and it seems their actions is entirely justified. Maybe with the exception of Cee-C, all the #bbnaija housemates admitted to missing Rico Swavey.

Anto had noticed that his departure had affected some of the #bbnaija housemates more than others, and couldnt help but wish him well.

For Tobi, Rico had played safe and he expressed to the others how highly he thought of Rico swavey. Tobi was the first to admit he missed him the most in the kitchen.

Khloe seemed to have the hardest time since she missed having someone to talk to at nights, and had nobody to fight with when she was tipsy.

In Miracle’s view, Rico’s humour was sorely missed but again he felt lucky to have learned a few dishes from him. For Alex, though Rico’s goofiness was missed, there hadn’t been any food fights since he left.

The biggest blow came from Cee-C, according to whom, people didn’t talk about Rico swavey at all. Worse of it all was that despite everybody acknowledging Tobi and Miracle for stepping into Rico’s chef shoes, in Cee-C’s eyes, nobody had gone into the kitchen to cook for all.

Nobody except Anto whom she praised for making burgers for the every single housemate in the #bbnaija house. It seems that Lolu’s analysis that many of the housemates saw in Rico a big threat was proven right with the way they all spoke about him since his exit from the house.
