Anto, Khloe, Lolu Exit #BBNaija House In Final Eviction Show

Featured Image

With barely a week to go, Lolu, Khloe and Anto have made their exit from the Big Brother Naija – BBNaija – Reality TV Show, leaving the five finalists to contend for the star prize.

There were 5 Housemates (Anto, Cee-c, Khloe, Lolu and Miracle) up for possible eviction and 3 were evicted.

The trio polled the least votes among the five Housemates nominated for eviction on Sunday evening.

The two other Housemates, Miracle and Cee-C, have therefore joined Alex, Tobi and Nina as the finalists in the running for the ultimate prize of 45million naira.

For Khloe and Anto, it was actually re-eviction from the House, as they had earlier been disqualified and evicted respectively; while Lolu was shown the exit door for the first and only time.

Before the final eviction, Biggie called the House into the Arena, where ten suitcases were lined up, awaiting for the eight remaining Housemates to open them.

The aim was for Housemates to secure another Wager victory, in light of a slight twist: each suitcase contained a small gifts, but only one held a cash reward.

Biggie instructed Housemates that whoever opened the suitcase containing the money reward would have a claim on the reward, yet also automatically imply that the entire House lost the Wager.

Tinubu Visits Buhari In London

Featured Image

A national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Sunday, paid a visit to London to see Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari.

The President’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, made this known on his Twittter handle, @BashirAhmad on Sunday.

“President Muhammadu Buhari receives National leader of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu (Jagaba) today in London,’’ the presidential aide posted.

On April 9, President Buhari had during the National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress, declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019.

“I declared before leaving home because Nigerians were talking too much about whether I would run or not.

“So, I felt I should break the ice. We have many things to focus on, like security, agriculture, economy, anti-corruption, and many others.

“We needed to concentrate on them, and politics should not be a distraction.

“The majority of Nigerians appreciate what we are doing, and that is why I am re-contesting,’’ President Buhari told the Archbishop.

While in Britain, the President is billed to hold discussions on Nigeria-British relations with British Prime Minister, Theresa May, before the commencement of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meetings scheduled for April 18 to 20.

A presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, had, earlier, disclosed that: “The President will also meet the Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Plc, Mr. Ben van Beurden, in connection with Shell and other partners’ plan to invest $15bn in Nigeria’s oil industry.

“These investment ventures will lay the foundation for the next 20 years’ production and domestic gas supply, bringing with it all the attendant benefits both to the economy and the wider society,” Shehu said.

Shehu, who is the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, said that further meetings had also been scheduled for the President to see some prominent British and Nigerians residing in Britain.

Man City Emerge Premier League Champions As Man Utd Lose To West Brom

Featured Image

Manchester City have emerged the new Premier League champions after their city rivals, United, suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against West Brom on Sunday at home in Old Trafford.

City were crowned champions as Jay Rodriguez’s 73rd minute goal shocked Old Trafford and left them with an unassailable 16-point lead at the top of the table.

The club’s emphatic 3-1 win over Tottenham at Wembley had heaped the pressure on their neighbours a week after they ruined their title party at the Etihad Stadium.

United needed to avoid defeat to ensure they kept the chase for the title alive but they failed to deliver, handing the trophy to their bitter rivals in the process.

City boss Pep Guardiola had vowed to not even follow events in the game this afternoon, choosing to take to the golf course with his son.

City set a Premier League record of 18 consecutive wins on their way to the title, and have beaten every other side in the division this season at least once.

They were on course to go the whole league season unbeaten before losing 4-3 to Liverpool at Anfield in January.

Second-place United are now 16 points behind them with only five games left to play.

JAMB Conducts UTME In UK, South Africa, 6 Other Countries

Featured Image

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it has recorded a huge success in the conduct of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) in eight countries.

The countries include UK, Cameroon, Benin Republic, Côte d’Ivoire and South Africa.

The board’s Head of Media and Information Department, Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Lagos.

According to him, not less than 297 foreign candidates participated in the 2018 UTME in the countries conducted on Saturday, April 14, under the supervision of some foreign nationals, who came to understudy the process.

Mr Benjamin said the foreigners were elated by what they saw that an African country could achieve and sustain such a feat.

“The examination was conducted yesterday in not less than eight foreign countries under the watch of some foreign nationals.

“As usual, it was well attended and very successful. All resources to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination were readily deployed by the board.

“We are indeed happy to have achieved yet another feat especially as we had people who came around to observe and understudy the process.

“They were happy as well as impressed with what they saw on ground. We know it can only be better because we have the capacity and all it takes to move this country to the next level,” he said.

“Again, we are not just conducting the examination in these countries because of the number of candidates that indicate interest but because we also want to showcase Nigeria’s giant strides in technological advancement on the global scene.”

Meanwhile, JAMB has distanced itself from a purported cutoff mark being circulated in some sections of the media, saying it did not emanate from the board.

Mr Benjamin said no such cutoff mark, whether for programmes or institutions had been released by JAMB as was being speculated.

“We want to seize this medium to debunk such rumours as they are malicious and wicked as they are designed to defraud innocent Nigerians, especially parents and guardians as well as other stakeholders.

“No cutoff marks will ever be decided upon without the usual policy meeting which has been scheduled to hold sometime in June and which is to be chaired by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.

“Until that is done, every other thing that is being paraded as cutoff mark is fictitious and therefore, the public is hereby warned not to fall prey to these fraudsters.

“In the same vein, any institution that has commenced any form of admission without the official cutoff mark as would be decided upon at the June policy meeting is doing so illegally,” Mr Benjamin warned.

He said as a board, the management would continue to uphold standards and due process to protect the integrity of its examinations and process. (NAN)

#BBNaija 2018 Day 76: A Look Back At the Aftermaths Of The Saturday Night Parties

Featured Image

With only two Saturday parties left in this season of #bbnaija, let us take a moment to reminisce on the housemates and the things that will be missed most about the Doube Wahala parties.

Whether it was quarrels or playing games, the #bbnaija Housemates really took it to them in making sure we enjoyed the parties and what came after, as much as they did.

Each Saturday, the #bbnaija Housemates have made it a point to look good in the outfits they were given. Together with their perfect make up, the ladies drove the wheel and took us to envy land, all making it an effortless task. The guys on the other side, have brought boyfriend goals whether with their traditional outfits or just plain pyjamas.

Taking a look back, it is evident that it’s been a roller coaster ride for the #bbnaija Housemates and at some point after a few sips on ‘Victoria’s tears’ some have had moments that they’re rather just sweep under the rug.

Remember the moments between Cee-C and Tobi in the beginning where they would just cuddle after the party and dish out couple’s goals everywhere?

How about the time when Nina and Alex had taken beer for the first time? When all Alex could think of was Leo?

It was all fun and nice but time changed and the wheel turned and all that would come of the Saturday parties would be quarrels, arguments and insults.

Furthermore, how can we forget the vomits from Rico Swavey and Alex? At least they had solid friendships in the #bbnaija House and they were well taken care of.

No person is as honest as a drunk person and out of the games they played after the parties, nothing came out of the #bbnaija Housemates except sincere honesty.

Truth or dare was one of their favourite in the beginning and it made them open up about each other more. And somehow they learned a few things about one another.

However, with all that said, the Big Brother Naija Double wahala Housemates really made Saturday Nights parties a thing to look forward to.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 76: Reekado Banks For The Live Shows!

Featured Image

As the end of yet another electrifying season of #bbnaija draws near, it is only right for the big brother naija show to have some of the coolest kids in the African musical sphere grace the stage.

This weeks live show will see Reekado Banks’ set the #bbnaija stage on fire with his rhythmically intoxicating music.

Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, a 24 year University of Lagos graduate seems to have been born with music and the arts, and thanks to having always been surrounded by music courtesy of his producer brother and gospel singer Sister, he developed his own sound and carved his own journey going forward.

The name Reekado Banks was derived by combining two names that mean ‘wealthy strong ruler’ when loosely translated. This name appears to be quite fitting, considering the amount of success he’s had thanks to his contractual affiliations with giant label ‘Mavin records’ that came about as a result of the songs sent to the label by his Brother.

Having been awarded ‘rookie of the year’ at the Hip Hop world awards in 2014 and weighing in on the number 10 spot on the Billboard world album music, Reekado Banks continues to be a musical force taking Africa and the world by storm.

The young sensation will be performing two of his hit songs ‘Like’ featuring label colleague Tiwa Savage and ‘pull-up’ on the #bbnaija stage. These Two numbers will sure pull everyone into a trance and have us dancing through the #bbnaija Live Show.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 76: Housemates Wrap Up The Airtel Task With A Sumptuous Meal

Featured Image

The #bbnaija Housemate’s Airtel task of showing humanity towards one another, came to an end on the afternoon of day 76 and it ended with a beautiful display of unity.

The thought of being in the #bbnaija House for the money was put aside for a few hours while the Housemates enjoyed their cooked meals.

In the magical words of Lolu, ‘There’s always something to like even the inconsequential things’ and this proved true while the #bbnaija Housemates exchanged laughter.

The week-long task, which was divided into three has seen the Housemates complimenting each other, doing things for one another and eventually having lunch as a collective, which is something that had become a rare sight in the House.

In the midst of the caucus in the House with each and every one of rhe Housemates making it clear on who they are with and against, it was refreshing to see them coming together over home cooked meals.

Biggie’s thought of bringing the House together served its purpose because for the time they enjoyed their meals, the Housemates forgot about competing and enjoyed each other’s company.

Even though others didn’t directly engage, the moment was short lived because as soon as the task ended it was each to the holes.

The conversations ended on the table and the #bbnaija Housemates decided to go to sleep. It’s true that best moments are short lived and hopefully, in their stay in the Big Brother House they will take this particular moment with them.

Aisha Buhari Reveals Why She Criticised Her Husband’s Administration

Featured Image

Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has revealed that her 2016 interview which was considered to be critical of her husband’s administration was based on her sense of justice.

Mrs. Buhari brought the revelation to light in a message she sent to the 2017 Vanguard Awards where she was honoured as Vanguard Personality of the Year 2017.

My Wife Belongs To My Kitchen’ – Buhari Reacts To Aisha’s ‘Controversial’ BBC Interview

A copy of the message of the President’s wife who was represented at the event by one of her daughters, Halima, was made available to journalists on Sunday by her spokesman, Suleiman Haruna.

Mrs. Buhari said she was brought up to stand by the truth and that was how she has been living her life.

She said Nigerians elected her husband based on the trust and confidence they have in him and she felt the administration must serve Nigeria to the best of its ability.

The President’s wife said, “I wish to thank the management of Vanguard Media Limited for this unexpected award, in recognition of my humanitarian efforts towards improving the health and welfare of Nigerians particularly women, children and less privileged.

“One of the reasons adduced for honouring me was the interview I granted which some people saw as criticism to a government that I am part of.

“I need to state that my position was a result of my sense of justice and not confrontation or disrespect. I was brought up to stand by the truth and this is how I have always been.

“As we are all aware, Nigerians elected this administration based on the trust and confidence they have on my husband; I, therefore, feel that we are here to serve Nigeria to the best of our ability.

“Let me use this opportunity to state that I support my husband in this call to service and will continue to do so.

“On this note, I hereby dedicate this award to the people of Nigeria, especially women. Thank you sincerely for this award.”

Mrs. Buhari had in the 2016 interview with BBC warned her husband that she might not back him at the 2019 election unless he shakes up his government.

The Room President Buhari Really Needs Now

She has claimed that the President did not know most of the top officials he appointed.

“The President does not know 45 out of 50, for example, of the people he appointed and I don’t know them either, despite being his wife of 27 years.

“Some people are sitting down in their homes folding their arms only for them to be called to come and head an agency or a ministerial position,” she had said.

In the BBC interview, the Mrs. Buhari refused to name those who had hijacked the government, saying, “You will know them if you watch television.”

#BBNaija 2018 Day 76: Misplaced Feelings And Priorities

Featured Image

Alex’s intervention seems to have done nothing more than have Tobi and Cee-C bluntly talking about their situationship and how it all blew out of proportion in the #bbnaija house, even though it seems like the two have crossed the thin line, making their relationship irreparable.

According to the other #bbnaija Housemates, Cee-C has done a bad job trying to hide just how bothered she really is by all the sourness between her and Tobi. Her references, no matter how blatantly disrespectful are enough evidence to prove the other Housemates’ right that their relationship is not yet over.

However, Tobi seems to either be hiding it well or really did lose interest in pursuing anything with Cee-C. Whatever the case may be, he seems to have moved on rather swiftly.

Thanks to their dice game, Cee-C and her new found friend, Khloe went on to talk about Tobi’s relationship with Alex. Still putting up the unbothered front, Cee-C failed to hide her feelings towards this friendship and threw in the fact that Alex thrives on drawing people in by playing the pity card.

She also made mention of how she’d warned Tobi not to bother coming back to her when he’s done with Alex.

While Tobi is managing their situation well enough, he too seems to find interest in any conversation revolving around him and Cee-C. Earlier yesterday, Alex spilt the beans on how she and the other #bbnaija housemates thought Cee-C still jad feelings for him and how they had noticed stolen glances.

While the truth may be a relative phenomenon when it comes to feelings, Cee-C and Tobi seem to be holding onto to something and only they can reveal whether it’s resentment or longing. We only hope this is revealed before the end of the season.

Beyonce Reunites Destiny Child In Historic Coachella Performance

Featured Image

Beyonce became the first black woman to headline Coachella on Saturday night in a breathtaking performance that featured her best material from a staggering back catalogue at the music festival in Indio, California.

During the music festival, Beyonce performed one incredible dance routine after another. Beginning with her 2003 debut solo single, “Crazy in Love”, she then transitioned into “Freedom”, “Formation” and “Sorry” from her 2016 visual album Lemonade. During “Sorry,” she mixed in verses from two fan favourites: “Me, Myself and I” and “Kitty Kat”.

She returned to the stage after a sultry rendition of “Drunk In Love” for tracks including “Diva” “Flawless” and “7/11”.

DJ Khaled’s voice was heard on the speakers at one point to announce: “After tonight, Coachella gotta rename Coachella the Beychella. New name alert: Beychella!” Beychella became the top trend on Twitter for the rest of the performance.

Husband Jay Z joined her for a rendition of “Deja Vu” ahead of their On The Run 2 tour, making sure the spotlight was focused on his wife with a no-frills rap cameo, while Destiny’s Child reunited in an incredible moment, for a flawless renditions of “Lose My Breath”, “Say My Name” and “Soldier”.

Her sister Solange joined her for a dance on stage, then Beyonce took to the runway for “Single Ladies” where she and two backing dances performed the famous routines.

“Who Run The World (Girls)” was a powerful salute to feminism where Beyonce shouted out to every woman present and thanked those who had paved the way before her.

She then paused for a moment ahead of the show’s conclusion and addressed the crowds: “I was supposed to perform last year but I got pregnant, thank God,” she said. “I had time to dream with two beautiful souls in my belly and this is everything and more I had in my dream, so thank you for sharing this with me. I want to sing this last song to all my incredible, beautiful fans. Loyal fans. Ride or dies. I love y’all.”

Closing with an acapella “Love On Top” the stage was filled with her band and a troupe of dancers who played her out to an instrumental of “Shining”, everyone was left wondering, really, if it wasn’t worth ending the festival right as she walked off stage. No one was going to top that.

It is understood that over 450,000 people streamed her California performance live on YouTube early Sunday morning, with the terms “Beyonce,” “#Beychella” and “#DestinysChild” dominating Twitter’s trending topics.

‘Ojukokoro’, Three Other Nollywood Films Screen In U.S.

Featured Image

Nollywood movie, ‘Ojukokoro’, and three other Nollywood films – Oblivious, The Encounter, and Tell Me Sweet Something, were screened on Saturday night at Metrograph Theatre, New York.

‘Ojukokoro’ (greed) is the hilarious feature film leading the line-up at the inaugural ‘Nollywood 3.0 Images and Stories From the African Diaspora Film Series’ in New York City.

Combining the two unlikely genres of comedy and suspense thriller, Ojukokoro tells the story of an attempted robbery that goes very wrong from three contradictory points of view.

The film’s director, 27-year-old Dare Olaitan, said he hoped Ojukokoro, as well as the Nollywood 3.0 Film Series as a whole, would help promote Nigerian cinema on an international scale.

“We can produce films that entertain both Nigerian and international audiences and this premiere is our chance to prove the case,” he said.

Nollywood 3.0″ featured a plethora of exciting films by artists and filmmakers from the diaspora and offered fresh, African-centric storytelling.

‘Tell Me Sweet Something’ is a romantic comedy feature, produced in South Africa, by Nigerian-born Akin Omotoso.

It tells of an aspiring novelist with writer’s block, Moratiwa, who runs a second hand bookstore in the hippest part of Johannesburg.

Meeting the man of her dreams takes Moratiwa on a journey of comic encounters in the charming, funny and romantic film.

Profiting from the tangible chemistry between the two lead characters, the film also shows the realities of black life in South Africa and a side of Johannesburg, which is rarely seen.

‘Oblivious’, which is directed by Ekene Mekwunye, relates a tale in which a married man finds a new lover and asks his wife for a divorce.

However, the wife says she will grant his request under one condition: he must carry her out of bed every day for a month.

‘The Encounter’, also by Mekwunye, is a personal period piece about two former friends who find themselves on different sides of the Biafran war.

It is a short film that documents the last encounter between the Biafran warlord Emeka Ojukwu and Emmanuel Ifeajuna, before the latter was executed for treason during the heat of the Biafran war.

You’ve Failed Nigerians – Bakare Tells Buhari, Jonathan

Featured Image

The General Overseer of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has described Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari and his predecessor Goodluck Jonathan as failures over their inability to prioritise the security and welfare of Nigerians.

The cleric stated this when he spoke at the 2nd annual Chibok girls lecture organised by the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) movement in Abuja, on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

Bakare said that the nation has failed to live up to the expectations in terms of security and welfare of the abducted school girls.

“That is the purpose of government as enshrined in the constitution. That the welfare and security of the citizens, whether is Jonathan government or Buhari government. Any government that does not prioritise the security and welfare of its people is already a failed government to start with.”

He said the fact that schoolgirls were abducted in Dapchi, Yobe state, four years after the Chibok incident is “evidence of an anomie and alarming national malady”.

The cleric wondered why both incidents happened the year preceding a general election.

“There is something wrong when a nation is twice beaten. There is something undeniably wrong when the girl child repeatedly becomes the bargaining instrument in negotiation deals between the government and terrorists,” Bakare said.

“Let me ask this question, has this government handled the issue of the Chibok kidnap well?” the audience chorused, “No!”

He asked again, “What of the previous government?” The people responded negatively, and Bakare continued: “Sometime ago, the daughter of President Buhari got married here in Abuja. Just recently, the daughter of Vice-President Osinbajo also got married here.

“The other time a governor gave out his daughter to another governor and they had a very elaborate wedding. Now tell me if their daughters were among the Chibok girls, won’t they have done enough to rescue them?

#BBNaija 2018 Day 76: Housemates Grapple With Adjusting To Reality

Featured Image

Seeing as the 25 million Naira journey is about to come to an end, the #bbnaija Housemates will most definitely be fighting a lot of virtual battles thanks to the viewers’ perceptions of them and whether they’re ready or not, it will surely come.

Nina and Miracle definitely managed to place themselves on ‘sweetheart’ pedestals thanks to their goosebump giving moments, however, the love birds came into the #bbnaija show as units and that’s exactly how they’ll be handling themselves out there.

Seeing as Miracle successfully cracked the shell in which she was enclosed initially, he might just have a bit of control when dealing with haters but for Nina, it might just be a different ball game.

Lolu’s ‘wise man’ and ‘word-smith’ traits have certainly won him favour with intellects and empathizers alike. Having ever been on the defensive front when dealing with quarrels, he’s managed to keep his hands clean and because of that, might have very little backlashes to deal with from viewers and lovers of the #bbnaija show alike.

Despite having thrown hints of being a Yoruba demon and having a slippery tongue, Tobi has managed to redeem himself and was consequently placed on the ‘friendship goals’ pedestal. He too might handle backlashes on return to the outside world quite gracefully.

Khloe and Anto are unarguably covered in thick skin thanks to having been outside and for that reason, are more likely to brush off the insults and thrive on the good vibes.

Alex has never been ashamed of her colourful and being a uniquely messy personality, often perceived as noisy and disturbing. In fact, she suffered a few heavy backlashes but quickly bounced back and held her own.

Just like Cee-C, her ‘fireball’ demeanour isn’t at all what she adopted in the #bbnaija House but an innate trait she often uses as a defence mechanism. The two obviously care less about external opinions. While their battles promise to be great, they’ll most likely hover over them and survive.

While the #bbnaija Housemates are aware of the risk factors, with the exception of Anto and Khloe who’d experienced both the good and the bad first hand post-Eviction and pre-bring back; their different personalities will definitely come into play when handling themselves out there because they have to choose to either sink or swim.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 76: DJ Lambo Brings Fire To The Party

Featured Image

As soon as the #bbnaija Housemates stepped into the party room, they eere welcomed with a slow paced music by DJ Lambo, who was only setting the tone for the night. Her compilation soon had the #bbnaija Housemates singing along to almost each and every song.

Even though their party clothes didn’t come through, that didn’t derail them from their party mode and instead they wore their best and hit the dance floor.

The DJ had the #bbnaija Housemates on their feet and the only time they had to catch their breaths was when refilling their cold beverages.

It was a competition of dance moves among the Housemates and of course Alex led with her undiluted dance moves, that ensured she remained the queen of the dancefloor.

Additionally, Nina appeared to be having the best time of her life and all this was visible in her dancing while Anto took turns showing some nice dance moves before shying away from the dance floor.

Alex as usual, was the heart of the party, dancing the night away like there’s no tomorrow. However, it became interesting to see Lolu and her on a head to head situation on the dance floor which ended up in the other #bbnaija housemates joining in.

Also, Alex stole a lot of moments and was zoning all alone on the dance floor but mostly her fellow Housemates looked onto her for ques as to when to change to the next dance move.

It was a pretty entertaining night that saw the #bbnaija housemates have the fun of their lives.

7 Boko Haram Fighters Killed In Borno

Featured Image

The Nigerian Army on Saturday said its troops killed seven Boko Haram insurgents in the ongoing clearance operation in separate ambushes in Borno.

Onyema Nwachukwu, the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Operation LAFIYA DOLE, made the disclosure in a statement in Maiduguri.

Mr Nwachukwu disclosed that the troops also arrested a suspected Boko Haram insurgents’ spy, Modu Chari, and recovered arms in multiple encounters with the fleeing terrorists on April 13.

He said that the troops killed two insurgents fleeing from military onslaught in Sambisa Forest at Kusheri-Ardodam along Magumeri in Borno, adding that the troops recovered two AK 47 rifles, three magazines and 18 rounds of 7.62 mm NATO type ammunition.

Mr Nwachukwu revealed that troops also neutralized two insurgents in an ambush along a remote track in Mafa, recovering one AK 47 rifle, two magazines and a bicycle.

In another ambush, he said, three fleeing insurgents were killed by troops at Multe-Lawanti, South of Furfur in Damboa, Borno, and recovered one AK 47 rifle, three motorcycles, two bicycles, spanners and dresses.

The army spokesman disclosed that the troops on Friday arrested a member of the Boko Haram terrorists group, Madu Chari, while transiting along Cross Kauwa in the northern region of Borno.

He explained that the suspect was on an espionage mission when he was nabbed by troops, adding that investigations indicated that Chari was an active member of the Al Barnawi faction of the terrorists group.

“The ferocity of the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Operations to rid the northeast of Boko Haram hideouts and enclaves has further suffocated the terrorists group hence they resorted to suicide attacks on innocent civilians.

“It is crucial, therefore, to draw the attention of the general public to the terrorists’ callous resort to the use of diverse types of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), to attack vulnerable civilians in their bid to instil fear amongst the populace in order to remain relevant.

“Members of the public are advised to be vigilant and report suspicious persons, movements and activities to security agencies”. (NAN)

De Gea, Salah, De Bruyne, Kane Nominated For PFA Player Of The Year

Featured Image

Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Leroy Sane and David Silva lead a six-strong cast that also includes the prolific Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane for the 2017-18 Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year award.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is the other nominee.

Despite blowing the chance to seal the Premier League title in a thrilling 3-2 derby defeat to Manchester United last weekend, City still boast a 13-point lead at the top of the table.

De Bruyne is expected to be City’s leading candidate having contributed a league-high 15 assists and seven goals from midfield as Pep Guardiola’s have marched towards the title.

However, the Belgian may be beaten to the award by Salah’s free-scoring form.

The Egyptian has scored 39 times in all competitions, including in each leg as Liverpool dumped City out of the Champions League quarter-finals 5-1 on aggregate.

Salah leads the way in the race for the Premier League golden boot with 29 goals to Kane’s 25.

Sane and Kane are also on the shortlist for the Young Player of the Year award alongside City goalkeeper Ederson and forward Raheem Sterling, Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford and left-back Ryan Sessegnon, who has starred in Fulham’s push for promotion from the Championship.

The winners for both awards, voted for by PFA members, will be announced at a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House on April 22.

Chelsea midfielder, N’Golo Kante, won the 2016/2017 player of the year award, while Tottenham’s Dele Alli was voted best young player for the second season in a row.

#BBNaija 2018 Day 75: Lolu In Need Of Cupid’s Help?

Featured Image

As relatively straightforward as Miracle and Nina’s reconciliation seemed to be, especially given how deep the two are into each other, and Tobi and Cee-C’s reunion, which both owe to Alex, Lolu also seems to need some help from the #bbnaija house’s cupid.

However, despite her goodwill, Alex is yet to dabble into Anto and Lolu’s territory.

At the start of this #bbnaija season, Anto and Lolu were paired up under the monicker ‘Loto’ in what was soon enough perceived as a super-power couple. The two of them shared an indescribable chemistry made of brains and cheek.

Though at that time, nothing had transpired about any romantic attachment, Lolu was clearly smitten in every possible way by Anto’s feminine mystique. Anto on her side seemed to relish in all the courting and attention she had become the recipient of, yet never gave suit to his advances.

When Anto was Evicted, Lolu looked like he had been hit by a bus as he struggled to cope with her sudden disappearance from the #bbnaija House.

With Anto’s return however, and her first very real meltdown about her broken heart, things have just not been as rosy as Lolu had anticipated.

Despite all his efforts and consistency, he and Anto are still at odds when it comes to their relationship, which didn’t go unnoticed by their peers. Yet none of the #bbnaija housemates have dared sitting Lolu and Anto together to help reconcile their differences, and who would even try?

Unlike the others, these two have kept their dirty laundry to themselves. They have kept everyone at bay from their relationship, and everyone has respected the distance not the least because Anto and Lolu are seen as more mature and experienced than their peers.

However, earlier this week, at the depths of despair following another acidic exchange, for the first time in eleven weeks, Lolu had opened up to Tobi who made the rather clumsy and naive mistake of comparing his experience with Cee-C to that of Lolu with Anto.

Despite all this, it would come as no surprise to learn that Anto and Lolu’s relationship has blossomed inside the #bbnaija House.

Clearly it does take an immense amount of self-restraint, in the Big Brother’s House, to keep some discretion, which is an element most need for any relationship to grow and that is something the pair possess.
