Santi Cazorla Back In Training At Arsenal After 18-Month Injury Ordeal

The 33-year-old has not played for the Gunners since October 2016 after a horrific Achilles injury that required 10 operations and a skin graft. There had been fears that, not only would Cazorla never play again, but that he could lose hit foot, though he sent Arsenal fans into meltdown when he was spotted on the Emirates pitch.

Asked if it felt good to be back on the pitch by beINSPORTS after his work-out, Cazorla joked: ‘Not right now!’

Probed on a potential return he continued: ‘Yes it feels good. I hope I’ll be back in full training in maybe two weeks. It’s a challenge but a positive one.’

Santi Cazorla now faces a race against time to play for Arsenal again, with the Spaniard out of contract at the end of the season and Arsenal’s last league match coming away to Huddersfield on May 13.

Santi Cazorla Back In Training At Arsenal After 18-month Injury Ordeal

Featured Image

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has trained with the club for the first time since suffering an Achilles injury that has kept him out since October 2016.

Santi Cazorla was put through his paces by head of performance, Shad Forsythe, ahead of Arsenal’s Europa League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid.

The 33-year-old’s progress will be welcome news for Arsene Wenger who recently admitted the midfielder’s fitness would be the deciding factor in Arsenal’s decision whether to offer him a new deal.

Cazorla’s last appearance for Arsenal came in October 2016 when Wenger’s charges beat Ludogorets Razgrad 6-0 in a Champions League group stage match.

Cazorla has been recovering in Spain and has had 10 operations to heel his injury. At one stage it was feared his foot would have to be amputated due to an infection.

Schalke Confirm Max Meyer Will Leave The Club This Summer

German club Schalke 04 have confirmed that Max Meyer will “definitely leave” the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Max Meyer has been with the German outfit since the age of 14, making 145 Bundesliga appearances for the club and scoring 17 goals since breaking into the first team.

However, he has been unable to come to terms over a new deal in Gelsenkirchen, and sporting director Christian Heidel has now confirmed that he will leave on a free transfer this summer.

“Max Meyer will definitely leave Schalke this summer,” Heidel told reporters at a press conference.

“We’re dealing with the situation very professionally. It’s all been very amicable.”

The 22-year-old got his first call-up to the Germany squad in 2014 and has made four caps to date, scoring once.

Arsenal 1 – 1 Atletico Madrid: Griezmann Bags Crucial Away Goal For 10-Man Atletico

Featured Image

English side Arsenal certainly have left themselves with a very tough task to attend to next week Thursday as they let a lead slip to 10-man Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium in their Europa League semi-final first leg.

Arsenal started brightly with Alexandre Lacazette having a couple of early chances. They received a boost when Atletico were reduced to 10 men after only 10 minutes.

Croatian defender Sime Vrsaljko, booked for an early challenge on Jack Wilshere, picked up a second yellow for a late tackle on Lacazette and was sent off.

Atletico boss Diego Simeone was furious at the decision and minutes later the fiery Argentinian was sent to the stands.

It took until the second-half for the Gunners to break the deadlock though, with Alexandre Lacazette heading home at the far post.

As they searched for a crucial second goal they were sucker-punched, as Antoine Griezmann found himself through on goal, converting at the second attempt to give Atletico a huge away goal.

NEC Bans Herdsmen Movement In Benue, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna, Plateau

Featured Image

The National Economic Council (NEC) on Thursday, April 26, agreed to stop the movement of herdsmen in Benue, Taraba, Adamawa, Kaduna and Plateau States.

At a meeting presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday, the Council also supported the immediate creation of ranches across the country.

Dave Umahi, governor of Ebonyi state, disclosed this to state house correspondents at the end of the NEC meeting held at the presidential villa in Abuja.

The NEC comprises state governors and relevant ministries of government and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

According to him, the five mostly affected states which had witnessed herdsmen killings will be expected to make land available for the ranches.

He said: “With ranching, the nomadic herdsmen and their families would be able to access good medical facilities and good schools for their children if they stay in one place.

“Ranching would also improve the well-being of the cattle.”

He added that herdsmen from neighbouring countries would be expected to show some travel documents, even though visa is not allowed for movement of those from West African countries.

On his part, Audu Ogbeh, Minister of Agriculture, said the federal government will no longer allow the killings to continue.

Ogbeh added that Nigeria may no longer be able to keep to the ECOWAS protocol on free movement of persons.

Senator Melaye’s Younger Brother Remanded In Kuje Prison

Featured Image

An Abuja Chief Magistrate Court sitting at Mpape, has ordered that Samuel Melaye, younger brother of Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, and three others should be remanded in Kuje prison, Abuja.

Samuel was remanded in prison by a chief magistrate’s court in Mpape, after being arraigned for alleged criminal conspiracy.

Dino Melaye: How Arrested Senator Jumped Out Of Moving Police Vehicle, Landed In Hospital

The police charged him and three others — Amaefula David, Pius Inyang and Mohammed Wazari — after they were named in the escape incident involving Melaye.

The Police’s First Information Report (FIR) had linked them to the Tuesday’s incident at Area One, Roundabout,  Abuja, where Melaye reportedly jumped off a police vehicle that was said to be conveying him to Lokoja (Kogi State) where he was to be arraigned before a court on a pending charge.

The defendants were charged  with criminal conspiracy, obstruction of public servant from performing his lawful duties, abatement and assault on police officers, offences said to be contrary to sections  97, 85, 267 and 173 of the Penal Code Law.

They pleaded not guilty to the charges when the FIR was read to them on Wedensday.

Their lawyer Nkem Okoro, from the law firm of Mike Ozekhome (SAN), applied orally for bail for the defendants.

The police objected to the bail application, following which the presiding magistrate adjourned to April 30 for ruling.

Melaye’s brother and others are said to have been arrested by the police at the hospital where Melaye was admitted after the incident.

They were also alleged to have “jointly conspired and attacked a team of police officers from the office of the Inspector-General of Police S.T.S FHQ, Abuja while conveying Senator Dino Melaye to the court in Lokoja, Kogi Statein Area One Roundabout, Abuja”.

The police also alleged that the defendants “whisked the suspect (Melaye) away to an unknown destination.”

Ex-PDP Chairman, Ali Modu Sheriff, Joins APC

Featured Image

Former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, who last year lost the post of the National Chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in a long battle that was finally settled at the Supreme Court, has joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Daily Trust confirmed on Wednesday that the three term senator, will return along with PDP’s 2015 gubernatorial candidate in Borno State, Alhaji Gambo Lawan.

It quoted the APC National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, as saying that Senator Sheriff would be received formally into the party today.

“The information I heard is that it will be tomorrow (today) at 12(pm),” he said.

That the event will take place in Abuja and with no officials of the party or government in Borno state is indicative of the problem that lies ahead.

Already, a source close to Shettima said the governor is also strategizing and has his plan B.

Lawan also confirmed that he would be defecting with Sheriff, saying he is leaving the PDP because it has been hijacked by some few people.

He said, Yes, we have moved to the APC; I and former Governor Sheriff have left the PDP for the APC and there are reasons. Sheriff for instance is only going back home; he is the father of APC in Borno, he is a founding member of the party because he  partook in taking the ANPP as one of the legacy parties that formed the APC.

“He only left the APC in 2015 when he was unfairly treated during the sharing of leadership positions when his candidate for the national secretary, Matawalli Kashim Imam was short-changed.

“So there is nothing new; Sheriff is the face of APC in Borno and the North East; he is the one who enthroned the incumbent governor and is behind the success story of many politicians.

“For me, I am not used to defection but was compelled to leave the PDP because it has been hijacked by some few people; the party has not reformed.

“And most importantly, politics is local; Borno is APC and it is for President Buhari. Our joining the party with millions of our supporters will strengthen it in Borno and environs.”

<

p align=”justify”>

APC Snubs Sheriff?

It is understood that the national leadership of the APC has asked Sheriff, who has indicated interest to join the ruling party in Abuja, to do so at his ward.

Sheriff was scheduled to storm the national headquarters of the party in Abuja by noon on Thursday with his supporters, where he would have declared for the party.

A three-paragraph statement was nevertheless issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the ruling party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, in which he directed Modu-Sheriff to join the party in his ward.

The statement read, “Our attention has been drawn to reports in some sections of the media that the former factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff plans to defect to the All Progressives Congress today at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

“While we are aware of such intentions, we wish to restate our earlier position that anyone who wants to join the Party should do so at the ward level.

“We are happy to welcome new members to our party, but membership cards are not issued at the Party National Secretariat.”

14 Nigerians Were Detained In South Africa For Protesting Killings

Featured Image

The Nigerian Union in South Africa clarified on Thursday that the 14 Nigerians being held in detention in Rustenburg, South Africa since last February were not being held for drug-related offenses.

The Assistant General Secretary of the union, Mr. Collins Mgbo, gave the clarification in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Port Harcourt from Polokwane, South Africa.

He restated that the Nigerians were arrested by the South African police for protesting the killing of a Nigerian in South Africa last February.

No fewer than 118 Nigerians, mostly young people have been killed in South Africa since February 2016, according to records.

Mgbo said the union was worried by recent reports that the South African police detained the Nigerians because of drug-related offenses.

“This is absolutely false. Recall that during xenophobic attacks against foreign nationals in Rustenburg in the North West Province of South Africa, Nigerians recorded high casualty with so many properties destroyed.

“Some members of the Nigerian community were killed by mobs.

“All these made Nigerians in Rustenburg to mobilise and stage a peaceful protest against the killings and destructions.”

Mgbo said that in the process, the 14 Nigerians were arrested by the police and that they were still being detained.

According to him, the attacks in Rustenburg began when South Africans alleged that Nigerians sold drugs to a group that attacked taxi drivers in the city.

“They also alleged that a Nigerian abducted and raped a 16-year-old South African girl.

“On investigation, the union discovered that the allegations were false and we made the same report available to the police.”

He said, however, that the legal desk of the union was on top of the detention of the Nigerians and was working hard for their release, adding that the union was also following up on the recurring extra-judicial killing of Nigerians resident in South Africa.

It will be recalled that two Nigerians were recently murdered in the latest killing of Nigerians in the former apartheid enclave.

They are Mr. Clement Nwaogu, a native of Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra, who was burnt alive by a mob in Rustenburg on April 22 and Mr. Thankgod Okoro, 30, from Ogbaku in the Agwu Local Government of Enugu State.

Okoro was reportedly shot at point-blank range by a member of the South African Police Flying Squad at Florida West Rand in Johannesburg on April 9.

A Lucky President Or A Lazy Generation?, By Kenneth Amaeshi

In Greek mythology, luck and destiny are inextricably intertwined. The lucky one is not so because of his or her own dexterity, but only exhibits the fatality of fate. As such, life and living become a theatre where humans perform to the attentive gaze of the gods. In other words, destiny is not negotiated but predestined. Predestination has remained a core characteristic of many faiths. In most instances, however, it is believed that luck only meets the prepared.

This piece was written by Kenneth Amaeshi. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

When President Goodluck Jonathan took over from President Yar’adua, some people saw the future and prophesied that President Jonathan had a golden opportunity to write his name in gold or on sand. From the look of things, and disappointment of many, he became the ill-fated product of luck and chose to write his name on sand instead. The trail of corruption tales, which has accompanied his presidency infamously, tells the story magnificently and eloquently.

President Jonathan is now the past and President Buhari is the present. But is the latter the new bastion of hopeful luck or an unlucky extension of a series of fated disasters – i.e. a gross disappointment in waiting? The taste of the pudding is, obviously, in the eating, as they say.

Despite the enormous goodwill that accompanied President Buhari in the wake of his regime in 2015, he seems to be losing a significant dose of this as he progresses. Some people, rightly or wrongly, now see him as a controversial and divisive personality. His occasional gaffes, unfortunately, do not appear to help matters.

The overwhelming symbolic, but shambolic, outcry that has followed his latest gaffe about lazy Nigerian youth, in particular, is quintessentially inglorious and opprobrious. The youth have spoken loud and clear. They do not think that description fits them. They do not recognise it. They rather see some generations before them wallowing in wanton depths of laziness, orchestrated by a false sense of self, enormous sense of unpatriotism, greed, self-centeredness, and self-delusion. They remember a generation that fed fat on Nigeria – a generation that enjoyed free education and was lavishly pampered whilst in university; a generation that thrived when Nigeria didn’t know what to do with money.

Today’s disappointed youth are mainly the proverbial millennials – i.e. those born in the 80s. They appear to have seen and lived the worst of Nigeria – from poor education, extremely dangerous governance, terribly weak institutions, epileptic power supply, to dismal public infrastructure, and social decay. What’s left? They have witnessed it all and have nothing tremendous to lose. They seem to typify the saying: He that’s down needs fear no fall. “Bring it on!” they seem to say.

Notwithstanding the only sad reality of Nigeria they know, they have come to brace up to it with unfathomable courage and resilience. What options are before them, anyway? Some take to trekking to Europe through the tortuous and tedious Libya, while others embrace the resilience of entrepreneurship in whatever form it presents and comes – the bad, ugly, and good. Man must wack, after all! This is exactly the landmine President Buhari has inadvertently walked into – a volcano of anger in waiting for rupture and consummation.

As if Nigerians are not already saturated with divisive antics, President Buhari seems to have unwittingly ushered in a new genre of divisive identity – i.e. generations – through his alleged careless characterisation of the Nigerian youth as lazy. The millennials have seized the opportunity to bitterly and harshly castigate and denigrate the generations before them. Whilst divisions along ethnic and religious routes are very common faultlines and are yet to run their full course, the division along generations is an unwelcome, unwanted, and outrageous socio-political addition to the conundrum Nigeria has unfortunately become.

From the look of things, it seems pitting one generation against the other can be a smart way of keeping Nigerians busy and distracting them from holding the government of the day to account, which is very important.

It is obvious that power is a game of rhetoric. It is enabled and constrained by language. Those who understand this tend to make very good use of it. The Nigerian youth shouldn’t fall for this grand gimmick. It needs to be said and recognised that the post-independence generations are all victims of a pathologically criminal class which has mastered the paradoxical and contradictory art of appearing and disappearing, as well as doing something and nothing, at the same time. Pitching one generation against the other is, therefore, only an extension of the already existent polarisations along ethnic and religious lines, which have not tremendously moved Nigeria forward.

The youth should not fall prey to this latest gimmick of division. They should rather see through the falsity of this lazy way of thinking and strive towards holding the government accountable to its many promises. They should shun the temptation to be distracted or disillusioned. They should not allow themselves to be pushed into despondency or an unnecessary generational war. They should rather pay attention to the class war exacerbated by high inequality and pernicious inequity embedded in the system that tries to frustrate them.

Unsurprisingly, no generation is homogenous. There are always winners and losers in any generation. It doesn’t take any wizardry to come to this realisation. The youth should focus on this social lopsidedness to reclaim what’s their right and responsibility. Marginalisation is a tool with which the elites dominate and impoverish others. It is not in short supply in Nigeria. It comes in various shades – from outdated quota system to the glorification of the rich created out of prebendalism and outright roguery.

The youth should rise above the charade of power-hungry leadership and role models, and explore how they can build meaningful bridges across generations, ethnic groups, and religions; for Nigeria is truly ours, and Nigeria we serve!

Shine your eyes!! A word is enough for the wise, as they say.

Alexis Sanchez ‘Still Adapting’ At Manchester United After January Move From Arsenal

Featured Image

Alexis Sanchez has revealed that he’s still adapting to life at Manchester United following his move from Premier League rivals Arsenal in January

Alexis Sanchez joined United after three and half years at Arsenal and his Old Trafford career has gotten off to a slower-than-expected start, with the 29-year-old scoring three goals in 14 appearances across all competitions.

“It is very different here,” Alexis told United’s website. “I think United is a club with more history and we want to win trophies next year.

“We need to keep progressing; United is a big club, to which I am still adapting, and I am looking forward to giving everything I’ve got next year and aiming to win everything there is to win.”

United will face Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium on May 19 and, with a victory, would lift the trophy for the 13th time — equalling Arsenal for the most titles in the history of the competition.

Sanchez scored in the 24th minute against Spurs on Saturday, giving him eight goals in as many appearances at Wembley.

“The truth is that I score every time I play at Wembley,” Sanchez said. “I have won several trophies there … with Arsenal. With Chile, I also scored two goals and that means a lot to me. Wembley brings me good luck.

“We are very happy to have reached the final. I think Saturday’s match was the most perfect one since I joined United, and that makes me very happy for what lies ahead.”

Arsene Wenger Keen To Play In Europe Again

Arsene Wenger has admitted that he wants to manage in Europe after leaving Arsenal

Arsene Wenger announced last week that his 22-year reign at the Gunners will end this summer

His final objective is to steer Arsenal to that trophy, returning Champions League football to north London as his parting gift.

“I hope these are not my last European cup games – my target is to play in Europe again,” said Wenger.

“I’ve had no break [from football management] for 35 years. You can look around, and that doesn’t exist. I don’t know now how addicted I am. I am like a guy who plays Russian roulette every week and suddenly has no gun. I will see how much I miss that gun.

“You live always in extreme situations. When I started at 33, I thought I would never survive in this job, but you learn to dominate your emotions. You are never sure if you do the right thing. It will be surreal when I don’t work. At the moment I work.”

Wenger added that taking a one-year sabbatical from the game – à la Pep Guardiola post-Barcelona – was not appealing, saying “it’s long – 365 days”.

Dbanj Unveils Script Writing Platform For Actors On May 1

Featured Image

Popular Nigerian singer, Oladapo Oyebanji, a.k.a Dbanj, on Wednesday said that a platform for Nigerian talented actors to showcase their scripts for sponsorship would be launched May 1.

The singer stated this during the 2018 Nigerian Entertainment Conference with the theme “Understanding Emerging Markets, Trends and Opportunities” in Lagos.

Dbanj, who established a similar platform showcasing talented musicians called Creative, Reality, Entertainment, Arts and Music (CREAM) in 2016, said that the platform would afford actors opportunities to showcase their scripts.

According to him, random selection would be done monthly and CREAM would be responsible for all the finances to ensure the most interesting ones were selected for production.

He said it would be a platform that provides the up and coming artistes the opportunity to have their songs recorded, movies and videos shoot for the budding artistes.

It would also help secure collaborations with established acts.

“The first set of beneficiaries on the platform was Rayce, TK Swag, MKJ, Leke Benson, Legend Courage and recently Real Self,” he said.

“We have been doing this for the musical industry since 2016, we want to rub off on the potential actors and actresses too because we realise there are talents too in that field who needs assistance.

“Every month beginning from May, we will be picking 10 scripts we believe will interest the viewers and they will all be shot and produced.

“We have 3.5 million subscribers already on CREAM platform and we expect more talented Nigerians to upload their scripts and music for possible assistance.”

Lower-level Tennis Rocked By Match-fixing Scandal

Featured Image

Tennis has been engulfed by a “tsunami” of corruption at the lower levels of the game involving “serious and substantial” match-fixing, an independent task force warned on Wednesday.

The review panel of three prominent lawyers found that there was a “tsunami” of fixed matches at the lower levels of the game, but also that there was no conspiracy or collusion among the sport’s governing bodies to cover it up.

According to BBC Sport, the report uncovered no evidence of top-level players being implicated or any signs that tennis’ governing bodies have attempted a cover-up.

The IRP did, however, find “some evidence of some issues” at higher-profile events such as Grand Slams, though nothing “widespread” was documented.

The report noted: “The panel has seen little empirical evidence that betting was widespread on the lowest levels of ITF tournaments before the deal in 2012. But in 2013, the year after the first ITF-Sportradar contract, 40,000 matches at ITF Men’s Futures and Women’s 15k and 25k events were made available to the betting market. By 2016 that number had increased to over 60,000.”

Because the Futures events offer such poor prize money, the report found that only 336 men and 253 women were able to break even – and that was before accounting for coaching costs. It meant that many players were vulnerable to being manipulated by fixers. “The nature of the game lends itself to manipulation for betting purposes,” the report added. “The player incentive structure creates a fertile breeding ground for breaches of integrity. Today tennis faces a serious integrity problem.”

Facts with Kulqee: How To Maximize The Social Media As An Entertainer

Featured Image

It is an inarguable fact that many entertainers have turned out to be stars just by their maximum use of the social media. Terri of recent, got a recording deal with Wizkid’s Starboy Entertainment through Instagram, Mark Angel and his comedy crew are stars today simply by making good use of YouTube, only to name but a few. Thus, one will be making a huge mistake by not paying good attention and acquiring the necessary skills in turning our talents to a source of income through the social media. In fact, let us go deeper; it takes the media to make a talented person a Star. Be it, social media, radio, TV, newspaper, etc, the media is what made a plantain seller like Nigerians’ Timaya a Star.

Therefore, we just cannot ignore the media. The social media is the new wave, by that I mean the trending media. How many of us here listen to the radio or watch TV on a daily basis? How many of us here pick up a newspaper or even on a daily basis? I bet a very few numbers of us. However, we log in to any social media network on a daily basis, right? Now that is the point. The social media is the new secret. The social media is actually, where most stars made right now.

Now, I believe we have seen reasons to maximize the social media, straight to the big question, How! How do we maximize the social media to sell and market our brands’ entertainers? Please note, though there are general secrets, every social media has its own unique way of promoting one’s content. We might not have enough time to treat all the social media platforms individually but we will definitely attempt to do that. Please also note when we say social media, we mean, WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, snap chat, periscope, Google Plus, YouTube, etc. Thus we take the general ethics and then entertain questions to throw more lights on these individual platforms.

Here are a few things you need in order to maximize the social media in pushing your contents;

  1. YOU NEED TO HAVE AN ACCOUNT ACROSS ALL SOCIAL MEDIA NETWORKS

Well you never can tell the media that’s gonna blow you up. Each social media is an ecosystem. What thrills the dudes on twitter is different from what makes waves on Instagram: For example, when you check what is trending on Twitter, it could be so different from the hashtags trending on Instagram. That simply tells you the market in each social media is unique as well as their demands. This is why most brands like Xploit Comedy celebrates hundreds of thousands of views on but literally struggles with ten thousand views on YouTub even with the same materials. That simply means, you need all social media networks as you don’t know the one that’ll totally accept your content.

  1. BE CONSISTENT

By now, most of us are already tired of this point as we have heard it several times. However, I will give a different explanation to buttress this point. In my previous article I made mention that, our faces and names are the most important thing we selling. Therefore if you noticed my username on Instagram is, madman. Will you be glad or disappointed to go check me up twitter only to find out there is no one like madman I bet it will take you time to discover I’m actually crazy person Twitter. This might end up making you lose a lot of visibility and followers. So you need consistency in usernames. It helps fans locate you easily. You equally need consistency in your profile picture. You cannot be looking like a pastor on Twitter and be looking like a teacher on Instagram. Those accounts are to market your brand. Having same profile pictures all across your social media platforms is nevertheless needful to ensure your face properly sticks to the eyes of your audience. If you do have multiple social media profiles, make sure that they all linked to each other. Chances are, your fans are also on these social networking sites and want to follow you! Having links to other social media profiles readily available takes the guesswork out of searching for you, and makes it easy for your fans to keep up with you all across the board. Many social networking sites will allow you to share widgets or hyperlinks to your other sites. You can also create tabs or “apps” to these pages on your Facebook, so that your Facebook fans can view and interact with your other social profiles without actually leaving Facebook. How cool is that?

  1. BE CREATIVE

Do not underestimate the power of Visuals and ensure you choose quality over quantity. The eyes records whatever image it sees while focusing. Taking a glance will not help. Thus you need to ensure your posts are entertaining, original and of quality. Create and only share Positive & Optimistic Content. Though it is advisable to post daily, it will be far more better not to post than to post trash. Next point, schedule your contents. Know the favouring time to post and when you will receive more reactions. This is termed Social Media Maturity; knowing what to post and when to post it.

  1. ENGAGE WITH YOUR AUDIENCE

Learn to listen. Ensure your posts gives room for comments. Preferably, ask questions more often. The more comments and views you receive on a post the higher your chances of trending. Leveraging user-generated content is equally important. Throw up a give away or contests occasionally. No matter how small, ensure you give your audiences a chance to participate.

  1. USE BUSINESS (PREMIUM) ACCOUNTS ACROSS ALL SOCIAL MEDIA

You will only be regarded a professional if you are using the Business Accounts on Instagram, Whatsapp Business, Facebook page, Linkedin premium etc. The features in the profiles of these accounts give you an edge and set you above the crowd in the social media ecosystem.

  1. CONNECT WITH INFLUENCERS

The entertainment industry as earlier pointed out in previous article is built on a blockchain called relationship. The social media is another route for proper rapport with the influencers in your field. Ensure you follow them and turn on their post notifications. The first 10 persons to comment or like their posts are always easy to capture their interests, as they will properly online waiting for reactions. Tagging them on posts a times doesn’t work as it depicts desperation and it’s provoking. However, being the first to make meaningful and reasonable reactions on their posts captures their attention. Please Note; desist from spamming their comment section with your links or pleading with them to check up your materials. Ensure the comments you make are totally in relation to their posts.

  1. STOP BLOWING YOUR TRUMPET
Please note that your social media handles are for your brand and everyone one connected to it. Do not make it all about yourself. Do well to amuse your fans, share some materials of your colleagues and even your fans. Give your fans that reason to see and take you as family.

Jose Mourinho Happy With His Achievements At Manchester United So Far

Featured Image

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has claimed that his achievements at the club are “not bad” considering the scale of the challenge in transforming the club’s fortunes.

Jose Mourinho succeeded Louis van Gaal in May 2016 and won the EFL Cup to become the first manager in Red Devils history to win a major trophy in his debut season at the club.

United then won the Europa League to take his first-season tally to three, including August’s Community Shield victory.

This term, Mourinho will go up against former club Chelsea in May’s FA Cup final to potentially take his United trophy haul to four, as well as improving on last season’s sixth-placed finish in the Premier League.

“I knew the club I was coming to,” Mourinho told Sky Sports News. “I know that one thing is to go to a club that is prepared to win and you just need to arrive and give the last touches, to give your personal quality, personal knowledge and the team, and the club, is ready just for the last click.

“I knew that was not the case [at United]. The owners knew that. The CEO, he knew that. So when the question was, in this period of my career, am I ready for this kind of job? Yes, I am ready because my career was about new things all the time.

“I was always very Portuguese in the sense that I’m always ready to discover and try new things, always ready to change country, to change club, to change culture, to change everything in the search of new things.

“I did all of that. So when I came in this period to Manchester United I was ready for this and I knew it was not to come and have simultaneous success. But, in spite of it, three trophies, three finals, probably a third or fourth in worst case scenario. Not bad.”

Fenerbahce And Besiktas To Complete Abandoned Turkidh Cup Match

Fenerbahce and Besiktas will complete the remaining 33 minutes of their abandoned Turkish FA Cup semifinal clash next Thursday.

Fenerbahce and Besiktas drew 2-2 in March’s first leg but were unable to finish the return fixture at the Sucru Saracoglu Stadium on April 23 as trouble in the stands spread to the benches and the tunnel.

Referee Mete Kalkavan abandoned the semifinal second leg following a mass brawl, which saw Fenerbahçe fans throwing objects onto the pitch after an argument with visiting team players on the bench around the 50th minute of the goalless match.

Beşiktaş coach Şenol Güneş suffered a head injury from a projectile hurled by the home fans at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.

Thirty-one people were detained over the events during the derby.

According to a statement on Fenerbahce’s website, the Turkish Football Federation has now ordered the remainder of the tie to be played behind closed doors on Thursday, May 3.

Akhisar Belediyespor, who knocked out Super Lig leaders Galatasaray, await the winners in the final, which is scheduled to be contested on Tuesday, May

NYSC Denies Introduction Of Sharia Practices In FCT Orientation Camp

Featured Image

The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has denied media report that it introduced Sharia practices in the administration of the FCT orientation camp.

The denial was contained in a statement issued by the scheme’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Mrs Aderemi Adenike, on Wednesday, April 25.

NYSC DG Issues Condition For Corps Members’ Relocation

A national daily, The Authority, had reported that the newly-appointed FCT Coordinator, Mallam Bello Balama, introduced Sharia practice in the camp because he said that “it is sinful for him as Muslim to head a camp where alcohol is sold.”

But she maintained that the report was false, adding that the scheme runs a prototype policy in all NYSC orientation camps nationwide.

The statement reads: “The attention of the Management of National Youth Service Corps has been drawn to a publication of the Authority Newspaper of Tuesday, 24th April, 2018 captioned, ‘NYSC Introduces Sharia in FCT Camp’.

“The writer in the publication claimed that the NYSC scheme in FCT camp Kubwa has introduced Sharia practices including the banning of sales of alcoholic drinks and non-socialization of male and female corps members.

“The NYSC Management views this allegation very seriously and wishes to state that there is nothing like Introduction of Sharia Practice in any NYSC Orientation Camp including the FCT Camp.

“However, Management wishes to state that the scheme runs a prototype policy in all NYSC Orientation Camps Nationwide. The camps are coordinated with a uniform timetable. There is also freedom of worship for both Muslim and Christian corps members.

“On the issue of restriction of socialization of male and female Corps Members, this again negates the whole essence of the scheme as it is not possible for any camp management to stop the social integration of corps members in an orientation camp. For the avoidance of doubt, corps members are grouped into platoons and it comprises both male and female and they carry out all camp activities together.

“The general public and especially serving Corps Members should disregard the issue of introduction of Sharia in FCT or any other orientation camp nationwide.”

It would be recalled that th Director-General, NYSC, Brig-Gen. Sulaiman Zakari Kazaure, had on Monday said that the increase in corps members monthly allowance would be determined by the new national minimum wage ”when it takes effect.”

The NYSC DG also disclosed that 82,000 corps members were deployed nationwide for the 2018 Batch ‘A’ orientation course across various states except those with security challenges.

Wolverhampton Wanderers Cleared By EFL Over Jorge Mendes Relationship

Featured Image

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been cleared by the  English Football League over their close relationship with “super-agent” Jorge Mendes.

The EFL has concluded that Wolves have not broken any regulations despite their link-up with Jorge Mendes, insisting he does not hold any official role at the Championship title winners.

“The EFL has met with Wolverhampton Wanderers to ensure compliance with the requirements of its regulations,” the EFL said. “At that meeting, a request for information was made by the EFL and following a comprehensive review of the detail subsequently provided by the club, it has been determined that Mr Mendes holds no role at the club and, as such should not be categorised as a ‘relevant person’ as defined by league regulations.

“On this basis there is no requirement for him to submit to the owners’ and directors’ test.”

“After meeting with EFL representatives and providing further written detail, a comprehensive review has concluded with confirmation that the EFL is satisfied there has been no breach of its regulations,” said the club in a statement. “We have always maintained our clarity on both FA and EFL regulations, which have been complied with explicitly since the change of ownership at the club in July 2016.

“We believe the release of these findings will bring to a conclusion any speculation surrounding the club’s operation and extinguish any concerns held by other clubs.”

A number of Wolves’ Championship rivals, with Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani at the forefront, expressed concern at the influence of Mendes at Molineux.

The “super agent” has no official title at Wolves but has a number of clients at the club, including boss Nuno Espirito Santo, £15 million midfielder Ruben Neves, attacker Diogo Jota, who is on loan from Atletico Madrid, and £7m winger Ivan Cavaleiro.

It led to worries Wolves were circumventing Financial Fair Play rules by not paying players the going rate but an EFL investigation has concluded the club have no case to answer.

Wolves clinched their return to the Premier League on April 15 and have always insisted they are satisfied with Mendes’ role.

The club issued a statement which read: “After meeting with EFL representatives and providing further written detail, a comprehensive review has concluded with confirmation that the EFL is satisfied there has been no breach of its regulations.
