Nigerian singer, Iyanya has publicly corrected the widespread notion that after he left Triple MG, he signed and official record deal with Mavin Records.
According to him, he left Triple MG which he co-owned with Ubi Franklin and signed off his share of the company to his former partner.
In a series of tweets online, Iyanya cleared the air on his involvement with Mavin Records in 2016 after Triple MG exit. He pointed out that his relationship with the label was mere affiliation and no contract was signed.
He revealed that Idris Olorunnimbe, the founder of Temple Company- the parent company of his new label, Temple Music came up with the idea of his affiliation with Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records.
However, Iyanya praised Don Jazzy for the role he played in his transitioning process which has now left him in a good creative space to make music.
