Eedris Abdulkareem Made Me A Very Decent Woman – Laura Ikeji

Featured Image

Nigeria fashionista and sister to popular blogger, Laura Ikeji recently took to her Instagram page to praise ace Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem for making her the decent woman she is today.

According to her, she met Eedris at the age of sixteen with the help of her sister, Linda Ikeji. She revealed how the rapper mentored her through the world of entertainment and also protected her from men who wanted to take advantage of her as a young beautiful girl.

She shared a side by side picture of Eedris and herself with long story caption:

If u see this man, help me thank him. Tell him Laura said thank u. Let me tell u a not so short story. A few years ago, when I was 15 years old, still in secondary school, I was obsessed with Eedris Ahdulkarim, you know the kind of obsession that u talk about him 24/7 yup that was me, everybody in class called me Eedris, so one day I couldn’t take it anymore, I asked Linda to help me beg Emmanuel Ugolee @Emmaugolee who was the god of entertainment tv then to introduce me to him, so Linda got Eedris’ number from Emmanuel and we called Eedris.

I wanted to dye!! After speaking with Eedris on the phone arhhhhaarrhhhhhh it was the best day ever! I told everybody in class that I was close to Eedris, so as an obsessed fan, I’d go to the call centre and call him every time and he was polite enough to pick.

I finished secondary school and Begged to meet him which he agreed, so my sister Vera and I visited him and that was how Eedris and I became close. Now listen to the real story.

I was young, only 16, naive, new to entertainment, obsessed etc but not for 1 day did Eedris ever ever take advantage of my obsession or naivity.

And he made sure that nobody from his crew took advantage of this smallie. He warned them all not to funk with me or they ‘re in trouble.

Eedris took me as a daughter, he mentored me and thought me how to rap. I walked, talked and rapped like Eedris hahahhaa.

And when I started mixing with other celebrities, they all wanted to take advantage, they all wanted one thing, well, as per young girl wey just enter industry na, that one na sweet fish.

Alot of all the celebrities I came across wanted to take advantage but not Eedris. This man Eedris, is the reason I can beat my chest and say I never messed with any entertainer during and after my rapping days. He’s one of the reasons I’m a very decent woman till date. The End!

Did u enjoy my story?

The curfew was announced on Sunday afternoon by the secretary to the state government, Rufus Bature.

According to him, the movements in the three local government areas would be restricted between 6pm and 6am, but that those on “essential duties” would be exempted.

“The Plateau State government has imposed curfew in Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Jos South to avert a breakdown of law and order,” Mr Bature stated.

“Movement is restricted from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., except those on essential duties.”

“We have recovered 34 corpses from Gana Ropp and 8 from Gashis while several others have not been recovered.

Maradona Seeks Crucial Meeting With Argentina Players To Inspire Win Against Nigeria

Featured Image

Diego Maradona has requested a meeting with Argentina’s players in an attempt to inspire the struggling squad ahead of their crucial final World Cup group game against Nigeria.

The two-time world champions must beat Nigeria in Saint Petersburg on Tuesday if they are to avoid a premature exit following a disastrous 3-0 defeat by Croatia.

He said he would bring along other Argentina greats of the past for the motivational talk.

“I would love to hold a meeting with them, with (Nery) Pumpido, with (Sergio) Goycochea, with (Claudio) Caniggia, with (Pedro) Troglio, even with (Daniel) Passarella if he wants to come, and with (Jorge) Valdano,” Maradona told Venezuelan TV channel Telesur.

“We’re going to defend our honour, boys. It cost us too much to be where we are for Croatia to come and hit us for three goals and to leave with our arms crossed without anyone putting a foot in.”

Maradona, who has criticised coach Jorge Sampaoli and striker Sergio Aguero in recent days, also took aim at Argentina Football Association (AFA) president Claudio Tapia in his latest outburst.

“I’m furious and very upset inside, because anyone who wore that (Argentina) shirt can’t see it being trampled like that by a Croatian team that isn’t Germany, that isn’t Brazil, that isn’t Holland or Spain,” he said.

“But there is a guilty party and the culprit is the president of the AFA. Everyone just accepted it when Sampaoli came in with computers, with drones, with 14 assistants.

“I think there is a total lack of authority on Tapia’s part.”

Javier Mascherano, one of the squad’s senior players, denied on Sunday that there was a rift between Sampaoli and the players.

Former Liverpool Defender Jose Enrique Undergoes Surgery To Remove Brain Tumour

Featured Image

Jose Enrique has confirmed he has undergone surgery to remove a brain tumour.

Jose Enrique, 32, wrote on Instagram that he is now in recovery after discovering the tumour around a month ago.

“Sorry I haven’t been around much,” he wrote. “It has been the toughest few weeks of my life.

“Within the space of one month, I have found out the news that I have a rare brain tumour and had surgery to have it removed. I am now in recovery and so thankful. Life is too precious.”

Jose Enrique joined Liverpool in 2011 and left for Real Zaragoza in 2016,  he also played for Celta Vigo, Villarreal and Newcastle United before retiring in September at 31 because of persistent troubles with his knee.

Jose Enrique told Marca he was meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton to discuss a player when he felt a significant headache.

He went to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a chordoma, a soft-tissue tumour located behind one of his eyes. The surgery took nine hours, Jose Enrique said, and he will begin radiation therapy on July 26.

“The thoughts of everyone at Liverpool Football Club are with Jose Enrique after the player revealed he has undergone surgery on a brain tumour,” the club said in a statement.

“Everyone at Liverpool FC wishes him a full and speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back at Anfield again soon. You’ll never walk alone, Jose.”

#WorldCupWith360nobs: Plane Carrying Peru World Cup Fans Suffers Engine Failure But Manages To Land Safely

Featured Image

A plane carrying Peru fans from Yekaterinburg to Tyumen in Russia landed safely on Friday but not after an engine fault caused the cabin to fill with smoke

A lot of Safety concerns have plagued Russia’s airline industry, which has witnessed multiple fatal crashes in recent years. The engine of a plane carrying Saudi Arabia’s team caught fire earlier this week.

Russia’s state aviation agency, Rosaviatsiya, said on Saturday that a Utair plane carrying fans to Moscow via Tyumen had suffered engine failure.

“During the landing approach, there was a failure *in the second turboprop engine,” Rosaviatsiya said in a statement. “As a result of the abnormal engine activity, smoke from overheated oil got into the passenger cabin of the aircraft through the air-conditioning system.

Rosaviatsiya said the smoke cleared from the cabin and that the pilot was able to safely land the plane on one engine.

A spokeswoman for Utair said media reports about a fire breaking out on the plane were incorrect.

“The crew acted as instructed and landed the aircraft as usual,” she wrote in an e-mail to Reuters. “The plane taxied in independently [and] the passengers left via the stairs without using the emergency equipment.”

Utair is working with aviation authorities to investigate whether a foreign object got into the engine, she said..

#WorldCupWith360nobs: Granit Xhaka And Xherdan Shaqiri Could Get Two-match Tournament Bans For Celebration Against Serbia

Featured Image

FIFA have now opened a disciplinary proceeding against Switzerland players Xherdan Shaqiri and Granit Xhaka, looking into their goal celebrations during Friday’s 2-1 win over Serbia at the World Cup.

Xherdan Shaqiri and Granit Xhaka are ethnic Albanians and of Kosovar heritage, the both celebrated after scoring with a gesture which appeared to imitate the eagle displayed on Albania’s flag.

Serbia does not recognise the independence of its former province Kosovo, which broke away 10 years ago and whose 1.8 million people are mostly ethnic Albanians.

The players denied that their celebration was political, though Xhaka acknowledged thinking about his heritage.

“For me, it was a really special day,” said Xhaka. “This is a victory for my family, for Switzerland, Albania, Kosovo. The gesture was for everyone who has supported me; it was not aimed at our opponents. It was a really emotional game.”

Shaqiri, who also wore the image a Kosovo flag on his boot, said: “It’s nothing to do with politics, it’s about football.”

FIFA said it had also opened proceedings against the Serbian FA for crowd disturbance and the display of political and offensive messages by Serbian fans. A preliminary FIFA investigation had been opened against Serbian coach Mladen Krstajic for “alleged statements made in the aftermath of the match,” added the governing body.

Reports quoted Krstajic as telling Serbian reporters that German referee Felix Brych — who denied his team a penalty when two defenders wrestled down striker Aleksandar Mitrovic — should be put on trial in The Hague, home of the United Nations’ war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia.

#WorldCupWith360nobs: Sweden Coach Janne Andersson Unhappy With Germany Players Reaction To Winning Goal

Featured Image

Sweden coach Janne Andersson has revealed that he was unhappy with Germany’s reaction to Toni Kroos’s winning goal in Saturday night’s  Group F clash at the 2018 World Cup.

Toni Kroos netted in the fifth minute of stoppage time as the reigning world champions recorded a 2-1 win over Sweden at the Fisht Olympic Stadium to keep their World Cup destiny in their own hands.

Andersson has claimed that the German bench took their celebrations too far – which led to an altercation on the touchline – but the Sweden head coach paid tribute to the quality of the winning strike.

“They got into our faces making gestures and that really got me angry we were all annoyed. we fought it out for 90 minutes and at the end, you should shake hands and leave – so we were very angry with their reaction,” Andersson told reporters.

“They didn’t create that many good opportunities, our keeper did make a few good saves, but I feel unlucky we didn’t get at least one point.

“But I’m not blaming anyone or any tactical decisions. This is probably the heaviest conclusion to a match I’ve had in my career – but the whole group is still alive so we’ll have to lick our wounds and come back for the next match.

“We had the odd opportunity but we kept the match under control up until the free-kick. It was an extraordinary individual goal. We had to work very hard throughout and once you get to the 85th minute you are very tired.”

Gremany Boss Joachim Low Reveals They Never Lost Hope Vs Sweden

Featured Image

Germany manager Joachim Low has paid tribute to his team for coming from behind to record a 2-1 win over Sweden

Ola Toivenen gave Sweden the first-half lead, but Marco Reus levelled the scores early in the second half before Toni Kroos scored an astonishing winner for Germany in the fifth minute of added time at the end of the 90.

Germany have kept their World Cup destiny in their own hands ahead of their final group game with South Korea next week, and Low has insisted that his team “never lost hope”.

“Something I did appreciate today was that we didn’t lose our nerve, we didn’t panic after going a goal down. We kept a level head and said we needed to make quick passes and tire the Swedes out to open up spaces,” Low told reporters.

“We didn’t score a couple of good chances but we never lost hope we could win the match and I think the goal scored in stoppage time had a bit of luck involved but it did show the belief we had in ourselves.”
