Brazil midfielder Paulinho has revealed that he has “regained confidence” since moving to Barcelona
Paulinho, 29, spent two unimpressive seasons with Tottenham Hotspur between 2013 and 2015 before moving to Chinese cub Guangzhou Evergrande for £10m and then eventually signed for Spanish giants Barcelona in a £35m deal in 2017.
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Paulinho opened up on his return to form, insisting that he “deserved” a chance to recapture his best ability.
“From four years ago, a lot has changed in my life and career,” the midfielder said. “Leaving England was good for me. I had lost my self confidence, but I’ve regained it.
“I’ve played very well, helped my club to win [La Liga]. I’m here because I worked and I deserved it. In four years, I’ve learnt a lot.”
