#WorldCupWith360nobs: David Beckham And Zlatan Ibrahimovic Broker Friendly Bet Ahead Of England Vs Sweden

David Beckham has signed up for a pretty unusual bet with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as the two legends prepare to watch their nations do battle in the World Cup quarter-finals on Saturday.

With Sweden set to take on England in the World Cup quarterfinals, the current LA Galaxy star and the former Galaxy, Man United and Real Madrid midfielder have agreed upon a little friendly wager.

Zlatan initiated the bet (naturally), offering to buy Becks dinner “where ever you want in the world” if England win.

If Sweden wins, Zlatan, the country’s all-time leading scorer with 62 goals, has demanded that Beckham buy him an item of his choosing from Swedish furniture chain IKEA. Fitting.

Beckham accepted Zlatan’s terms regarding IKEA but rebutted the England terms, saying if England win, Zlatan must “come watch an England game at Wembley wearing an England shirt and enjoy fish & chips at halftime.” Now wouldn’t that be a sight!

The other interesting thing to think about is Zlatan’s order at IKEA. He has shown he is a man of expensive taste in the past so the possibilities are endless here. A Lion-embroidered couch? A picture frame for a photo of himself? This might be reason enough to pull for Sweden.

Ibrahimovic also urged his countrymen to seize the moment against England, as he suggested they could finish this competition as world champions.

“They have a big chance to win the World Cup. They beat Mexico (in the group stage) which was good. They made a big statement and by winning against the Swiss,” Ibrahimovic told reporters on Wednesday.

“They’re going well and doing things that no one thought they could do. They believe, and they thought they could do it. They’re making good things, and hopefully, they could continue.

“We are there to push them. Every Swedish person in the world is proud, and we will be proud however it goes in the coming games.

“They should continue doing what they’re doing. It’s difficult to play against them and to score against them. If they can keep it up, they have a good chance.

“Now, it’s not only about how good you are, but there are a lot of emotions in the game. It’s a quarterfinal, and a lot of emotions come into the game. Whoever can handle that best has an advantage.

“When Sweden wins, let’s see what David Beckham tells me.”
