PDP Loses As 252 Aides Appointed By Tambuwal Resign, Return To APC

In what appears like a political earthquake, 252 Special advisers and Special assistants appointed by Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state have resigned their appointments.

And they have returned to the All Progressives Congress, instead of working under a PDP government.

Alhaji Ibrahim Haske, a special adviser to the renegade governor and spokesman for all the aides, announced this at a news conference in Sokoto on Sunday.

He said their decision followed Gov. Tambuwal’s defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“Our appointment is based on the position that APC is the political party governing the state and now that the government belongs to PDP, we have no option other than to resign.

“We are bonafide members of APC and our position has always remained same; we therefore resign voluntarily from the PDP government ,” Haske said.

Haske, who was a former Sokoto South Local Government Chairman, further explained the decision was based on their desire to support APC to deliver on its mandate after the 2019 general elections.

Alhaji Abdullahi Sokoto, also a special adviser to Tambuwal, restated the former aides’ commitment and dedication toward ensuring the success of APC across the state.

“We will continue to remain in our party APC and as such we sacrifice our political appointments to clarify people’s doubt and show our stand on party supremacy.”

He restated the group’s loyalty and support to the policies and programme of the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of APC.

In his reaction, the APC Chairman in the state, Alhaji Sadiq Achida, commended the former aides to Gov. Tambuwal for their demonstration of loyalty to the party.

He said, “the sacrifice of the Special advisers is highly recommended and will surely be rewarded by the people and APC in future.”

Guardiola: Jose Is Right, You Cannot Buy Class – But City Meant No Disrespect In Documentary

Featured Image

Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola has disagreed with Jose Mourinho that they were disrespectful in their All or Nothing documentary.

The show, which chronicles City’s Premier League title-winning campaign last season, drew Mourinho’s anger having portrayed his Manchester United side negatively when narrator Ben Kingsley described last December’s derby as “possession versus defence; attacking football versus park-the-bus”.

Mourinho responded by telling Sky Sports: “You can have a fantastic movie while respecting others. You don’t need to be disrespectful to have a fantastic movie.

“You can be a rich club and buy the best players in the world, but you cannot buy class and they showed that clearly, that was really obvious.”

However, speaking at a press conference following Sunday’s 6-1 win over Huddersfield, Guardiola rejected Mourinho’s accusation.

“You cannot buy class, I agree with Jose, we cannot buy class,” he said.

“I think we live one amazing season last season, there was cameras, we do it for ourselves. I’m not agreeing with Jose in terms of [being] disrespectful.

“This was not our intention, [it was] just filming what happened last season. It’s a club that tried to grow, to try to win titles, like all the big clubs in the world and we did it for ourselves, for our fans and to see what happened inside the locker room.

“But it’s Jose opinion, other guys are going to say we like [it], another guy says, ‘No’. It’s simple like that. But, of course, I agree with him – the class, you cannot buy it.”

Pogba On Brighton Defeat: “United Did Not Deserve To Win”

Featured Image

Paul Pogba believes Manchester United did not deserve to win their match against Brighton Hove and Albion.

Red Devils fell to a 3-2 loss away, after an unconvincing 2-1 win over Leicester City in their first match.

Murray, Duffy and Gross scored in the first half, with Lukaku scoring before the break and Pogba scoring a penalty after the break.

Pogba added some respectability to the scoreline in injury time from the penalty spot, but he was not happy with the performance.

“We lost, we did not deserve to win,” he told Sky Sports.

“The attitude we had was not like we wanted to beat them, they had more hunger than us.

“I put myself first, my attitude wasn’t right enough, we keep trying and pushing, and it is going to be a big lesson for us.”

Duncan Mighty Reveals Why He Bowed For Davido

Barely a few days after popular Port Harcourt singer Duncan Mighty was chastised for bowing to Davido, his manager, Michael Gabriel, has revealed what led to the incident.

Last week, Duncan Mighty shared a video of him bowing to Davido on his Instagram page as he appreciated the DMW Entertainment boss and frontline act for doing a collaboration with him.

According to him, the new song would open up the entire Niger Delta region and set the space for an unprecedented growth of entertainment in the region.

However, his fans seemed unhappy with him as they criticized the “Fake Love” crooner, saying he belittled himself before a 25-year-old singer, who met him in the music business all for a collaboration.

Explaining why Duncan Mighty prostrated himself for Davido, his manager, Michael Gabriel, said it was out of sheer happiness.

He told The Punch that:

“Duncan was just happy to have Davido in the Niger Delta; it was the first time he would visit for a video shoot. How many top artistes come to Port Harcourt? Everyone goes to Dubai, South Africa and other places to shoot videos. It is a big deal for someone like Davido to come to Port Harcourt and for Duncan Mighty to collaborate with him as well. He didn’t plan to bow to anyone; he was just excited. But people misinterpreted his gesture. Sometimes, there is no need to react to things like this because you will only give people more reasons to talk. When I mentioned it to him, he just focused on other things and wanted to know the next thing on the agenda.”

PDP Defeats APC, Wins Taraba Assembly Bye-Election

PDP Defeats APC, Wins Taraba Assembly Bye-Election

The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Garba Ahiya has won Saturday’s Takum 1 state constituency by-election into Taraba House of Assembly.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the election was to fill the vacant seat of the late Hosea Ibi, member of the Assembly, who was kidnapped on Dec. 31, 2017 and murdered by his abductors in January 2018.

Dr Ayuba Kwada, the returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announced the results on Saturday night in Takum.

Kwada said Ajiya of PDP won five of the six constituency’s ward with a total vote of 10,725 to emerge winner, while candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Mr Atem Ansho polled a total vote of 3,268 with one ward.

He disclosed that nine political parties participated, while results from nine polling units in Chanchanji ward were cancelled due to irregularities.

According to him, “The total number of vote cast was 14,717; total number of valid votes was 14,337 while 380 votes were rejected.”

Reacting to the election result, Gov Darius Ishaku of Taraba, described the process as a litmus test for the 2019 general elections in the state.

He noted that the victory margin could have been wider if all those that turned out to exercise their franchise had their Permanent Voters Cards, (PVCs).

Ishaku, who commended the peaceful conduct of the election, restated the need for state police to permanently tackle insecurity.

“The country will be more efficient with pronounced secuty if it adopts state policing just like the United States of America where our democracy took it roots.”

The candidate of the APC has, however, rejected the outcome of the by-election.

He alleged that collation were still ongoing in some wards when hired thugs forced electoral officers to leave some polling units to other destinations and changed the results.

Ansho, however, said he was in talks with his lawyers for advice on the next course of action.

God Is Responsible For All The Evil In The World (2)

God Is Responsible for All the Evil In the World (2), By Femi Aribisala

CLICK here to read more opinion articles

Jesus’ disciples asked him about a man blind from birth: “who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” (John 9:2). They assumed evil is always caused by sin. However, Jesus says different. He says God creates evil for his own purposes: “Neither has this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God might be revealed in him.” (John 9:3).

This piece was written by Femi Aribisala. The views and opinions expressed here are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of 360Nobs.com.

Jesus reiterates this when he was told Lazarus was sick: “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” (John 11:4). In effect, God creates sickness so he would be glorified in healing it.

This view conforms to Paul’s position that: “all things were created by (God) and for him.” (Colossians 1:16).

God Is Responsible For All The Evil In The World (1), By Femi Aribisala

Creator and Healer

Make no mistake about it, it is God that afflicts the sick with diseases: “The LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife bore to David, and it became ill.” (2 Samuel 12:15). “The LORD struck the king, so that he was a leper until the day of his death. (2 Kings 15:5). “The LORD struck Jehoram with an incurable stomach disease.” (2 Chronicles 21:18).

God is also the healer of sickness. He explains this to Israel: “I am the LORD your God, and I cure your diseases. If you obey me by doing right and by following my laws and teachings, I won’t punish you with the diseases I sent on the Egyptians.” (Exodus 15:26).

Note that God admits here he is the one who sends diseases to the sick.

Evil Pharaoh

God says to Moses: “I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will have mercy on whom I will have mercy.” (Exodus 33:19). Accordingly, he makes some people sick and others well. He also makes some people good and others evil.

This is exemplified by Pharaoh, the evil king of Egypt. God hardened his heart so he would be destroyed. He says: “For this purpose I have raised you up, that I may show my power in you, and that my name may be declared in all the earth.” (Exodus 9:16).

This will of God was fulfilled when Pharaoh’s recalcitrant army ended up at the bottom of the Red Sea. Accordingly, the psalmist says to God: “Human defiance only enhances your glory, for you use it as a weapon.” (Psalm 76:10).

Paul joins stridently in this debate: “Everything depends on what God decides to do, and he can either have pity on people or make them stubborn. Someone may ask, ‘How can God blame us, if he makes us behave in the way he wants us to?’ But, my friend, I ask, ‘Who do you think you are to question God? Does the clay have the right to ask the potter why he shaped it the way he did? Doesn’t a potter have the right to make a fancy bowl and a plain bowl out of the same lump of clay?’

“God wanted to show his anger and reveal his power against everyone who deserved to be destroyed. But instead, he patiently put up with them. He did this by showing how glorious he is when he has pity on the people he has chosen to share in his glory.” (Romans 9:18-23).

50:20 Principle

God creates evil in order to glorify his name. He brings evil into the world that he may be glorified in overcoming it. When Moses asked to see the glory of God, the Lord proclaimed it to him: “Jehovah! Jehovah God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.” (Exodus 34:6).

These attributes of God shine ever so brightly in the midst of the evil in this world. They ensure that evil brings glory to the God who saves from evil, redeems from evil and restores from evil. God does not create good out of good. He creates good out of evil.

Jesus says: “I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” (Revelation 22:13). Since God himself is good and not evil, and since God is the ending of everything, the end of all evil is good. That is “the law of circularity,” whereby everything begins and ends with God. The glory of God then lies in his contradiction of evil. All the evil in this world will ultimately succumb to the goodness of God.

In effect, God limits, restrains and overrules the effects of the evil he creates, ultimately using it for good. This is “the 50:20 principle” exemplified in the life of Joseph. He was thrown down a well, sold into slavery, became an indentured servant and was then sent to jail. But each affliction only moved him one step closer to the great future God had in store for him. He ended up as prime minister of Egypt.

When, as prime minister, he finally confronts his wicked brothers who sold him into slavery, he says to them: “It was not you who sent me here, but God.” (Genesis 45:8). “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.” (Genesis: 50 20).

Therefore, believers should take this assurance of God to the bank: “All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28).

Necessary Evil

Evil is a veritable instrument of salvation. The prime example, of course, is the evil Jesus endured at Calvary. “In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering.” (Hebrews 2:10).

Without evil, we cannot be made perfect. To be like Jesus, we must overcome this evil world. (Revelation 21:7).

Jesus maintains evil is a necessary feature of life: “Each day has enough evil of its own.” (Matthew 6:34). It was God who planted the tree of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. It is God himself, and not the enemy, that sets evil before us. (Deuteronomy 30:19). He does this, not for our injury, but for our benefit: “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” (2 Corinthians 4:17).

We need trouble so the power of Christ in deliverance and salvation may be revealed in us. (John 9:1-3). We need evil, in order to partake of God’s divine nature in overcoming it. For this reason, God will not shortchange us in the amount of evil we have to face but will make sure we have just the right amount we need.

However, believers have this assurance: “The Lord will deliver (us) from every evil work and preserve (us) for his heavenly kingdom. (2 Timothy 4:18).

Evil then constitute mere hurdles in the steeplechase of life. When the race is run and the books tallied, we will fully understand God’s grand design and know he allowed evil for noble reasons. Thereafter, all evil will be abolished.

Jesus says: “In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer. I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33).

Oyo Govt Demolishes Yinka Ayefele’s Music House Valued At N800 Million

The Oyo State Government in the early hours of Sunday morning made good its threat to demolish the Music House from which the Fresh FM belonging to artiste, Yinka Ayefele, operated.

It was gathered that government bulldozers arrived the Challenge area of Ibadan where the building was located and pulled it down.

Yinka Ayefele Cries Out As Oyo Govt Prepares To Demolish His N800m Music House

The government carried out the demolition despite a court injunction secured by Ayefele restraining the government from carrying out the exercise.

The government said that the building contravened physical planning rules, while Ayefele claimed that all the necessary papers were obtained for the construction of the building.

Hundreds of sympathisers were seen at the scene of the demolition, with many of them crying and pleading for the station to be spared.

The Popular Juju musician and Chairman/CEO of Fresh FM, a private radio station in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Ayefele was said to have watched as the demolishment took place.

Ayefele said, “We only got wind of the operation sound of the bulldozer. On stepping out to verify what was actually happening, the bulldozer had hit the gate.

“At that point, it dawned on us that they were from the state government.

“At that point, we were confused and we’re just shouting to alert other staff on duty.”

Barcelona Director Suggests Pogba Still Wanted At The Club

Featured Image

Barcelona director Guillermo Amor has hinted that Paul Pogba could join the Catalans before the close of the transfer window in Spain.

There has been rumors of strained relationship between the World Cup winner and Mourinho, leading to talks of an exit. United are unwilling to let him go and Barcelona will not comment on the matter.

Amor took an alternate stance, however, refusing to rule out the prospect of the 25-year-old arriving before the close of the transfer window on August 31.

When asked specifically about Pogba following the 3-0 win over Alaves he told reporters: “We have a good squad now in order to face our objectives, we don’t know what will happen but we have a strong squad.

“The debutants have been positive, they have performed to their ability, they are good footballers.

“Alaves worked a lot, maybe more defensively and they were well positioned. They didn’t want to score and that the minutes went by and it needed to be Leo with a set-play to get the breakthrough.”

Valverde Hails Messi As A Genius

Ernesto Valverde believes we should consider ourselves lucky to witness the performance of Barcelona star, Lionel Messi.

The Argentina international is regarded as one of the best and will be considered the greatest once he retires.

Messi got his La Liga account going with a brace in the 3-0 win over Alaves, opening the scoring with a low freekick rolled under the wall.

“Messi is a genius,” Valverde told a news conference.

“We’re lucky to be able to see him every day.

“We’re lucky to be involved in football during the era in which he is playing — we want him to pull a rabbit from the hat every day.

“There’s still room for Messi to surprise us. He always surprises you — he never ceases to amaze me, honestly.

“You have to be ready to expect anything from Messi because he sees what no one else sees.”

Mourinho: Top Four Distant For Manchester United

Featured Image

Jose Mourinho has stated that it will be very hard for Manchester United to finish in the top four this season.

United finished second behind Manchester City last season and have not won a PL title since 2013.

Mourinho says it will be tough closing the gap to City, and a miracle if they finish in top four.

“We are going to try, but it’s a very difficult job in front of us because second was really hard and this season is going to be really hard for everyone to finish top four,” he told Sky Sports when asked about the Red Devils’ prospects of finishing first.

Mourinho has pinpointed the usual suspects as United’s chief threats but claims that Tottenham, who became the first Premier League side ever to not make a single summer signing since the introduction of the transfer periods, had the most successful window.

“Liverpool are trying to win the title with their amazing investment. Chelsea has a fantastic squad, Manchester City has a fantastic squad too, Tottenham made an incredible investment by keeping their players, that’s the best investment you can make,” he explained.

“They could be spending £200m but if they lose Harry Kane or Christian Eriksen… the biggest investment was keeping all their best players. Arsenal will be better even though they lost their first match. I think it’s going to be a very hard season.”

Firmino Aiming For PL Title With Liverpool

Featured Image

Roberto Firmino believes it is quite possible for Liverpool to win the Premier  League title this season.

The Reds have not won a title in the topflight in 28 years and the forward is hoping to end the club’s drought this season.

The arrival of Naby Keita, Fabinho and Alisson Becker has boosted Firmino’s morale and hope at the club.

“I am optimistic and I believe Liverpool are capable of fighting for the greatest success this season,” he said, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

“I also think we have a better team than last season and that the new players will improve the performance of the team.

“Of course, we know we have to show it on the field and we know that, for our new players, it is not easy to adapt quickly to a new team. But I always think positively.

“We have shown in the last campaign that our dreams can be fulfilled and that we can return to the path of winning titles. This year, we must not fail and that is the attitude of the players.

“Certainly my dream is to lift the Premier League trophy with Liverpool and that’s what we are trying to do.”

“City are not invincible, they have lost games too,” he added.

“I think the battle for the title is going to be very tough and will go until the very last day. That’s why we’re determined to start at the top.

“The favourites are the usual ones – City, [Manchester] United, Chelsea and us. I don’t think there will be any big surprises.

“But the Premier League is one of the toughest competitions in the world and so much of the battle is in the head. So let’s see what happens.

“All I can promise our supporters is that we will give every last drop and finish the season absolutely empty in a bid to win the title.”

Hazard Confirms Chelsea Stay Ends Madrid’s Hope

Eden Hazard has confirmed his intention to stay at Chelsea and not join Real Madrid this season.

The Belgium international hinted he might leave Chelsea after the world cup, but only Thibaut Courtois has left the Blues for Madrid.

Spanish transfer window closes August 31, but Hazard has stated he is not leaving Chelsea this season.

“You know what I said after the World Cup. I’m happy here, I do not want to talk about that yet,” he told RMC Sport after Chelsea beat Arsenal 3-2.

“Many things have been said – nonsense and everything.

“For now, I’m happy. I still have two years of contract [left] and we’ll see what happens. I will not leave [this year].

“The transfer window in England is already closed. We can sell but we cannot sign players.

“It would be a bit strange for [Chelsea] to let me go and not recruit another player.

“We could see [against Arsenal] that the fans like me a lot. I feel good here. We’ll see what happens in a year or two years.”
