What players have not travelled, and why?

“First of all David Luiz is in Cobham because he is playing very often now after six months without playing and so I thought it was better for him to have training and rest.

“The second is Mateo Kovacic only for the little injury in the last match against Cardiff. And the last one is Eden Hazard because he told me that after the national team and after the match against Cardiff he was a little bit tired so I thought it was better to stay in Cobham, to have training and to rest.”

Will Ruben Loftus-Cheek play and is it a big chance for him?

“Loftus-Cheek for me is a very good player but I don’t know if there is a spot for him tomorrow. Of course there will be a spot for him in the future.

“Now it is very difficult because in the first part of the season it is very important to play with possibly the same players just to have a very solid team but tomorrow I have to change four or five players but it is impossible to change in this moment of the season to change 11 players in the match.”

Is he quite frustrated about now not having a great amount of playing time?

“I don’t know. Unfortunately we have to play with 11 players and I have 28, so 17 players will not agree with me so I don’t know. There is a match tomorrow, a match on Wednesday after the match on Sunday against West Ham so I think that in these two matches there will be a chance for everybody, not for 25, 28 players but for 20 players.

“Unfortunately the view is this. Only 11.”

Will Ampadu or Callum Hudson-Odoi get a chance?

“For Odoi I don’t know. In this position I am also in the last match played Pedro and Hazard but I have also players like Willian, Moses and so I don’t know tomorrow if it is time for Odoi or somebody else.

“In the future there will be sure it is possible for him but Ampadu, Odoi, Loftus they are the future of the squad but now we are 28 so I don’t know if tomorrow is the right time for Odoi.”

What do you know about PAOK?

“I hope to know everything. I don’t know, I have seen the four matches played by PAOK in the Champions League play-offs and my staff have seen the match of the Greek championship so I think to know everything but I don’t know.

“We want to play with our characteristic to control the match with our possession but I know tomorrow will be difficult. Not as somebody told me for the atmosphere in the stadium but it will be difficult because they are a good team.

“They have won against Basel and Spartak Moscow and won in Portugal against Benfica so they are a good team and we have to do a very important match if we want to gain points.

You can smoke in Greek stadiums… will you?

“In Greece it is legal so I don’t know [if I will]. I don’t like to speak about the smoking. I like to smoke but I know that I am not an example for the children.”

Have you spoken to the players about the atmosphere they will receive?

“No because my players are professionals so they must be able to play in every situation. As I said before I am worried about the opponent because they are a very good team not the atmosphere in the stadium.

“We are professional so we have to play every where in every situation and we have to play good football because we want to gain points because out target is first of all to qualify.

“And then qualify for the first spot in our group and so in order to win our group the match of tomorrow is the most important in the group because it is the most difficult match.”
