Ex-Chelsea Boss Conte To Replace Mourinho At Manchester United!

There are strong indications that Manchester United are considering a move for Juventus’ Beppe Marotta and Antonio Conte as the pressure mounts on Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho is under increasing pressure at Old Trafford after the Red Devils stuttering start to the season that has seen them pick up just 10 points from their opening seven league matches.

According to Corriere dello Sport, United are considering an intriguing alternative which would see Conte and Marotta reunite at Old Trafford.

Moratta confirmed last week he is set to leave Juventus having played a pivotal role in masterminding their domination of Serie A and return to the top table of European football.

Conte, on the other hand, won three Serie A titles working under Moratta before he left to manage the Italian national team, prior to his tumultuous but highly successful spell at Chelsea.

It is believed that Manchester United are already in search for a director of football which would see current executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward take a more commercially focused role.

Ambode Vs Sanwo-Olu: NWC Cancels Lagos APC Primaries

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) sent from Abuja to monitor the party’s governorship primary in Lagos State has cancelled the exercise held across the 20 local government areas of the state on Tuesday.

The Punch reported that the Chairman of the committee, Mr. Clement Ebri, while addressing newsmen around 4.30pm at Protea Hotel, Alausa, said the election could not have held because the committee was still expecting the list of representatives of one of the two aspirants.

Ebri, however, did not mention the camp that defaulted on the modalities for the election.

The primary is being contested by Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

It is believed that Sanwo-Olu, a former commissioner of the state, is leading Ambode, by a landslide in the results of the election announced so far.

TheCable also reported that the NWC panel in charge of the APC governorship primary election in Lagos state has dissociated itself from the ongoing exercise.

The committee opposed the option A4 mode used in the election, expressing preference for secret ballot system.

Option A4, still known as open ballot, is a system where voters queue behind the agent or representative of their preferred candidates while secret ballot system is a process where a voter’s choice is confidential.

NCC Raids Lagos, Arrests Peddlers Of Pre-Registered Sims

Scores Arrested As NCC Raids Lagos Over Sale Of Pre-Registered Sims

The Nigerian communications Commission (NCC), has revealed that some suspects involved in the peddling of pre-registered Subscriber Identification Modules (SIM) cards were arrested in Lagos, at the weekend, after a three-day raid on some identified hot spots for the sale of pre-registered SIM cards.

Speaking on the development, the Head, Enforcement Unit of NCC, Salisu Abdu, admitted that the menace is huge, ‘’but our fight against pre-registered SIM cards scam is yielding results.’’

Abdu noted that there have also been several complaints also from the office of the National Security Adviser about the prevalence of pre-registered SIM cards at some locations in Lagos, “as we moved to some identified areas.’’

He further revealed that “we visited Computer village, markets in Ikorodu and we also in Bariga with the objective of identifying where this sale of pre-registered SIM cards is on-going. Fortunate enough, it is only in Computer village we were able to buy only one Airtel SIM card from a mobile agent.”

“On the second day of the exercise, with the help of the Lagos Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), some arrests were made. We went to two locations. We went to Alaba International market, and Orile market along Badagry Expressway. In Alaba market, we purchased a pre-registered SIM card from an agent, a Globacom agent and in Orile we found pre-registered SIM cards on a market woman, who, in fact, was seated with a lot of SIM cards being sold to members of the public. It’s that same cards that criminals are using to commit a lot of crime and you can now understand why it had sometimes been difficult for security operatives in the course of their investigations of criminal offences to identify people who have actually committed such crimes.

“The last day of the raid of phone markets in Lagos was concentrated largely on the Saka Tinubu market in Victoria Island where two more persons who were found selling pre-registered SIM cards were picked up by the combined team of NSCDC and NCC officials.’’

Abdu said investigations are currently on-going to know where the agents are getting the pre-registered SIM cards.

“I’m sure the old woman and some of the persons arrested are not the ones doing the registration, there must be somebody who is supplying the SIM cards to them. We will need to find out the people who are behind it.”

Tragedy As Lecturer Slumps, Dies Over Non-Payment Of Salary

Tragedy struck the premises of the Kogi State Polytechnic on Monday after one of its lecturers, Mr Yakubu Nataala, slumped and died at his home in Lokoja, the state capital.

Multiple reports quoted the residents of the area as speculating that the late Nataala might have died due to his frustration over the non-payment of his salaries.

Other sources also claimed that his inability to meet up with his financial needs had been a source of concern to him.

While he was said to have last received his salary in July 2017, the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Luke Tijan, told newsmen that the lecturer, who was earlier operated upon as a result of ruptured appendicitis, died as a result of complications arising from the operation.

Tijani, however, admitted that the deceased was among lecturers who have not received salaries for several months.

His words: “Yesterday, we lost one of our lecturers in the polytechnic. Contrary to information that went viral, he never slumped and died but was earlier operated upon of appendicitis. He was among some of the lecturers that has not been paid salaries due to the screening exercise.”

Cardi B Arrested, Charged For Fighting In A New York Strip Club

Popular rapper Cardi B turned herself in to the police on Monday, October 1, in New York, where she was arrested and charged with three misdemeanors in connection with a strip club fight in August.

TMZ reports that the Bronx rapper handed herself into the NYPD after allegedly instigating a fight at Angels Strip Club in Queens on August 29.

The 25-year-old star was in the Angels Strip Club in Queens on that day when someone in her group lobbed furniture inside the night club, causing an employee to suffer “some bruising to her legs,” police said.

The former reality star, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, is accused of ordering members of her entourage to attack two of the club’s bartenders – sisters Jade and Baddie Gi – using bottles and furniture.

She faces charges that include two counts of second-degree reckless endangerment and one count of third-degree assault, according to Sergeant Brendan Ryan, a spokesman for the New York Police Department.

All three charges are considered misdemeanours in New York.

The rapper, who was photographed leaving a police station in Queens shortly after she arrived, was accompanied by her lawyer and nine other suspects, who also turned themselves over to authorities.

Upon arrival, Cardi was placed under arrest, taken to a holding cell, processed and then released. She has to appear in Queens criminal court on October 29.

“Miss Almanzar was very compliant during her arrest process and answered all questions,” Ryan said.

The musician will be formally charged at her October 29 court appearance, a spokesperson for the Queens District Attorney’s office said Monday, adding that changes to the charges could be made then.

Lawyer Joe Tacopina, who said he represents the two bartenders, said in a statement that:

“Cardi B ordered and committed violent assaults against my clients, and is being called to justice for her crimes. Apparently, she thinks her celebrity status puts her above the law.”

He added: “But reality is setting in, as justice does not care whether her name is Cardi B or Carly B, and she will now answer for her crimes.”

Kanye West Explains Delay In Release Of Yandhi Album – Clarifies On 13th Amendment

Kanye West Explains Delay In Release Of Yandhi Album – Clarifies On 13th Amendment

After leaving his impatient fans cheesed off on Saturday, September 29, following his inability to drop his ninth studio album “Yandhi,” which was slated for release that day, Kanye West on Monday, visited TMZ to explain that the album was delayed so that he can record it in Africa.

It is also believed that the main purpose of his visit was to clarify what he meant when he said he wanted to “abolish” the 13th Amendment.

When asked by TMZ why the album didn’t come out, he responded:

“I didn’t finish it. A person from my management staff, our management staff, had suggested because the album is so good, it’s my…I started incorporating sounds that you never heard before and pushing it, and having like, concepts that people don’t, you know, talk about.”

As for what fans can expect from the album when it drops on Black Friday (as Kim Kardashian revealed), he explained:

“We have concepts talking about body shaming, and women being looked down upon for how many people that they slept with. It’s just a full Ye album and those five albums I dropped earlier were like…superhero rehabilitation. And now the alien Ye is fully back in mode, off the medication, working out, breathing as much fresh air as possible. Thinking, doing, being himself.”

During this moment he pointed to his MAGA hat, and clarified that when he says he’s being himself, he isn’t being Donald Trump.

“I’m punk, and I can wear whatever I want, cause I’m a god.”

He went on a bit of a tangent from there, before revealing:

“So this is the type of energy that we’re putting into the album, so we’re going to Africa in two weeks to record.”

Kanye continued, “I felt this energy when I was in Chicago, I felt the roots. But we have to go to what is known as Africa. I need to go, I need to find out what it’s really called. Just grab the soil and be and cook food, five meals a day so the metabolism stays up, have my kids in the studio, have the mic out in the open so you can hear nature while we’re recording.”

“Okay so, I’m gonna read to you, something that my friend GLC from Chicago wrote for me,” Kanye started when asked to clarify his 13th Amendment statement.

“He puts a lot of energy into understanding historical facts.” He then interrupted himself by explaining he meant to say “amend” instead of “abolish.” “What I wanna say is, ‘abolish’ was the wrong language, I misspoke by saying ‘abolish.’ ‘Amend’ is the right language.”

Victor Anichebe Drags His Club To FIFA Over Alleged Match-Fixing

Reports have it that FIFA is currently investigating allegations of match-fixing made by Victor Anichebe against his club Beijing Enterprises.

The former Everton and West Brom striker, who joined the China League One side last summer after leaving Sunderland, lodged the complaint after alleging he was asked “not to try” by coaches on two occasions, including for a game against their local rivals.

The 30-year-old has questioned the instruction but claimed he was told by team-mates, “This is China, we do as we’re told.”

The Daily Mail reports that Manchester-based sports lawyer Chris Farnell approached Beijing’s general manager on Anichebe’s behalf but he has been ignored by the Chinese Super League club’s officials twice.

Farnell confirmed: “We have been instructed to approach Beijing’s general manager on the player’s behalf but, to date, his appeals for action have been ignored on two occasions.

“We have since reported the matter to the appropriate associations.”

The club have still not denied his allegation, which the towering frontman has taken to football’s governing body and hopes will lead to action soon.

It is not the first allegation of match-fixing in Chinese football.

The Chinese FA fined 12 top-flight clubs and banned 58 officials, players and referees for match-fixing and bribery after a three-year investigation in 2013.
