Chelsea forward Fran Kirby and Brazil legend Marta are among the 15 players nominated for the inaugural Women’s Ballon d’Or award.
Fran Kirby was one of the star performers in the Women’s Super League last season with Chelsea, winning the double with her club and individually was named the PFA Women’s Player of the Year award.
NWSL is also represented well, with Marta, the surprise winner of FIFA’s ‘Best’ player last month, Golden Boot winner Sam Kerr and Canadian great Christine Sinclair joining Horan and Rapinoe on the shortlist.
