Spain

Neymar has a verbal agreement with Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi to leave the club at the end of the season.

With Real Madrid and now Barcelona interested in signing the Brazil international, he has spoken to Al-Khelaifi about returning to Spain but any suitors will have to pay the French champions €220m (£193m) next summer and €200m (£175m) if the sale is in 2020.(Cadena Ser)

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has consulted some of the club’s senior players to see if they would be open for Neymar returning to the club. A deal to bring the 26-year-old back to the club is “not impossible” and Bartomeu has ensured any potential signing will not disrupt the dressing room harmony.

The players he spoke to are said to have a “good feeling” about the prospect of playing alongside him again. (El Mundo Deportivo)

La Liga boss Javier Tebas will go to court in order to force through Barcelona’s league game with Girona in Miami. Since announcing the plan, Tebas has been met with opposition from the Spanish FA, players’ union and now Real Madrid who issued a strong-worded statement on Wednesday.

However, Tebas is preparing a legal argument to ensure the January 26 fixture goes ahead in Miami. (AS)

Real Betis remain interested in Manchester City wing-back Oleksandr Zinchenko and could make a return approach for the Ukrainian in January. Betis tried to sign the 21-year-old in the summer on a season-long loan but City were only interested in a permanent switch and the deal could not be completed.

With Zinchenko keen for more first-team football, Betis are confident they can bring him to Spain. (AS)

Italy

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez contacted Antonio Conte this week and the Spanish giants have already opened negotiations with the former Chelsea and Juventus coach to replace Julen Lopetegui.

The Italian remains in a legal battle with the Blues over unfair dismissal which may delay the chances of Madrid appointing him, but Perez has identified Conte as his first choice should results continue to decline under Lopetegui. (Corriere dello Sport)

Toulouse midfielder Ibrahim Sangare is a target for AC Milan. Milan sporting director Leonardo is a big admirer of the powerful 21-year-old, who has been compared to countryman Yaya Toure in playing style and is valued at €20m (£18m).

Midfield is an area identified by the Rossoneri in need of extra recruitment, with the Serie A side considering a move in January. (Corriere dello Sport)

Roma are trying to fast-track a move for Porto midfielder Hector Herrera, who Real Madrid, Tottenham and Arsenal also want to sign. Herrera is out of contract at the end of the season and has no intention of renewing his deal in Portugal with a host of suitors across Europe.

However, Roma sporting director Monchi has been given the green light to sign the 28-year-old permanently in January to keep him away from La Liga and the Premier League. (Corriere dello Sport)

Germany

Bayern Munich turned down the chance to sign Jadon Sancho last year after being left unimpressed by the England international.

Sancho has been a sensation for Dortmund this season after arriving at the Westfalenstadion from Manchester City in 2017. Bayern also scouted the 18-year-old and consulted City manager Pep Guardiola but didn’t think he was worth the €7.8m (£6.8m) Dortmund ended up paying for him. (Bild)

Vfb Stuttgart wanted to sign Borussia Dortmund winger Jacob Bruun Larsen in the summer but their Bundesliga rivals were not willing to sell.

The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Stuttgart and the club were prepared to spend a club record €12m (£10.5m) on the Dane but Dortmund, “weren’t willing to talk”. Larsen has scored three goals in four games for BVB this season. (Bild)

France

Thierry Henry has been unable to bring in Rennes youth coach Julien Stephan as his assistant coach at Monaco. Rennes president Olivier Letang demanded €1m (£880,000) from Monaco to release Stephan from his contract which the principality club were not prepared to pay.

Julien is the son of Guy Stephan, who is Didier Deschamps assistant with the French national team. (Ouest France)

Juventus Kicked Me Out Of The Club For Cristiano Ronaldo – Gonzalo Higuain

Featured Image

Gonzalo Higuain has insisted he was “kicked out” of Juventus following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo

Juventus broke their transfer record to sign Cristiano Ronaldo for €100 million, and Higuain left to join AC Milan

But, while Higuain said the signing of Ronaldo was the final nail in the coffin, the issues began back in May when he was left out of the starting line-up for the Coppa Italia final.

“Inside me, I had the feeling something was broken that day,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport when asked whether things took a downward turn after that final. “Then they signed Ronaldo.

“It wasn’t my decision to leave. I gave everything for Juve. I won many trophies then after Cristiano arrived, the club wanted to make a jump in quality and they told me that I couldn’t stay and they were trying to find a solution.”

Higuain was Juventus’ record transfer before the arrival of Ronaldo and, in two seasons with the club, won two Serie A and Coppa Italia doubles. But, despite being forced to leave, he said he does not bear the club any ill feelings.

“My feelings are that of affection because they really looked after me,” the 30-year-old said. “Both teammates and fans gave me so much affection.

“But I did not ask to leave. Effectively, everyone says it: they kicked me out. At Milan, I immediately received a lot of love and that is how they convinced me [to join].”

Paris Saint-Germain Face UEFA sanctions After Crowd Trouble Against Red Star Belgrade

Featured Image

Paris Saint-Germain could face sanctions from UEFA after they revealed on Thursday that they were opening an investigation into crowd trouble at this month’s Champions League match against Red Star Belgrade.

The game, which PSG won 6-1 at the Parc des Princes, is also being probed by French investigators over suspicions of match-fixing by the Serbian champions, when a senior official of the club allegedly bet millions of euros on the team to lose by five goals.

The Ligue 1 leaders have been charged over “setting off fireworks” and “crowd disturbances”, and were also fined 20,000 euros ($22,960) for a delayed kick-off.

As PSG had already had one stand closed due to flares being let off during last season’s last-16 exit to Real Madrid, they could be handed a heavier penalty if found guilty this time.

In addition to the incidents inside the Parc des Princes, clashes erupted between fans and police after the game outside the stadium.

Manchester United Legend Gary Pallister Slams Romelu Lukaku For Openly Admitting He Wants To Join Juventus

Featured Image

Manchester United legend Gary Pallister slammed Romelu Lukaku for openly conceding he would like to join Juventus.

Romelu Lukaku is said to have grown frustrated at the club’s lack of progress under Jose Mourinho and appears to be pondering an exit route.

When asked about a future move to Serie A last week Lukaku was more than happy to deliver an honest and frank response. ‘Why not? I hope it happens,’ he said.

Juve have a great project in place and they just keep going. Every year they try to get stronger. Without doubt they are one of the two-three best teams in Europe.’

However, Pallister,, was left unimpressed by Lukaku’s admission and branded it as ‘disrespectful’ amid the club’s current crisis.

The former United defender told 888sport: ‘I’ve not heard that Lukaku story regarding Juventus but I think it’s disrespectful at times if you start mentioning other clubs when you’re actually contracted to the club you’re at.

‘If it’s in your mind I’ve got no problem with that but to put it in print I’ve got a problem with that.

‘At a time when a club is under real pressure to have their leading goal-scorer say he’d like to move abroad – if that’s what he has done – is not the ideal scenario.’

Doctor Reveals Causes Of Bed-Wetting Among Adults

Doctor Reveals Causes Of Bed-Wetting Among Adults

A General Medical Practitioner, Dr. Samuel Adeolu, on Thursday said bed-wetting among adults is a medical issue.

Adeolu told the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja that the phenomenon among adult indicates an underlying health condition or traits inherited from the family.

According to him, study has shown that someone with two bed-wetting parents has a 77 per cent chance of becoming a bed-wetter.

“When one parent bed-wets as a child, his son or daughter is found to have a 40 per cent chance of becoming a bed-wetter. These probabilities carry into adulthood as well,’’ he said.

Adeolu said that excessive production of urine during sleep was also known as nocturnal polyuria.

“This abnormality can cause nocturnal enuresis in adults; but it is also a symptom related to type I diabetes.

“Patients with a smaller bladder are often dealing with primary nocturnal enuresis.

“The physical size of the bladder is not actually smaller, rather the Functional Bladder Capacity (FBC) can hold a smaller volume of urine.

“Related to FBC, if the muscles of the bladder, known as detrusor muscles, are overactive, nocturnal enuresis can occur.

“In fact, detrusor over-activity has been found in up to 70 to 80 per cent of primary nocturnal enuresis,” he said.

Adeolu noted that psychological problems such as stress, fear, anxiety, side effects of certain medications, excessive ingestion of alcohol and irritable bladder are some of the causes of bed-wetting in adults.

He said that for secondary nocturnal enuresis, underlying health issue was at the root of the bed-wetting.

According to him, such problems can be associated with the prostate in men or pelvic organ prolapse in women.

He said: “Any of these medical issues can also cause bed-wetting in adults.

“They are Diabetes, urinary tract infection, urinary tract stones, neurological disorders, anatomical abnormalities, urinary tract calculi, prostate cancer, prostate enlargement, bladder cancer, or obstructive sleep apnea.

He, however, said that the disorder among adults could be treated surgically with medication and a change in daily lifestyle routine.

Eden Hazard Prepared To Sign New £300,000-a-week Contract At Chelsea

Featured Image

Eden Hazard has reportedly indicated that he is happy to sign a new £300,000 per week contract in order to remain at Chelsea.

Eden Hazard has established himself as the key man at Stamford Bridge, and he has already contributed seven goals and three assists in eight Premier League outings this season.

Real Madrid hold a long-standing interest in the 27-year-old – who has less than two years remaining on his existing deal – and the playmaker has previously suggested that he would like to represent the European champions in the future.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Hazard is close to committing his future to the Blues by penning fresh terms with the West Londoners.

Any deal would represent a huge coup for Chelsea, who at one stage looked unlikely to be able to keep Hazard at the club past the end of the season.

Hazard has scored a total of 97 goals in 310 outings for Chelsea since joining the club in 2012.

Clothing Company Sues Rihanna Over ‘Logo Theft’

Rihanna And Puma Sued For ‘Stealing’ A Company’s Logo

Rihanna and Puma are reportedly facing some legal trouble as Freedom United Clothing has slammed a lawsuit on the international pop star and fashion icon for using F.U. as a business card for her clothing business.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Freedom United Clothing is suing the platinum-selling singer for copyright infringement.

The company is claiming that RiRi ripped off their “FU” logo for her Fenty University merch. On the company’s website, it says they filed the registration for the trademark in 2006 and renewed it in 2014.

Rihanna And Puma Sued For ‘Stealing’ A Company’s LogoBear in mind that Rihanna signed a deal with PUMA where she had the company put F.U. on her sweatshirts, jewellery and sandals, and Freedom United says that’s just stealing.

However, the lawsuit claims Rihanna is aware there was an existing FU logo because she was photographed in one of their hoodies in 2014 and, even before that, her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown attended Freedom United’s launch party back in 2007.

The suit goes on to say PUMA touts Rihanna as a lawbreaker of sorts, noting on PUMA’s website it refers to the singer as“most likely to break the rules.” Well, they say F.U. is evidence of that.

Freedom United is suing PUMA for an order prohibiting future sales and damages.

NNPC Extends Crude-For-Product Swaps Until June 2019

NNPC Extends Crude-For-Product Swaps Until June 2019

Nigeria’s state oil firm NNPC has extended its crude-for-product swap contracts, the country’s main avenue to meet the bulk of its fuel needs, until June 2019, sources familiar with the matter said.

Despite having a refining capacity of about 445,000 barrels per day, its plants have been underperforming for years, making Africa’s biggest oil producer almost wholly dependent on imports to meet its domestic gasoline and diesel needs.

Nigeria’s gasoline consumption is roughly 40 million litres per day in the nation of almost 200 million people.

The west African country became increasingly reliant on NNPC for fuel imports via swaps after a currency devaluation and recession in the last few years, which priced independent importers out of the spot market.

A spokesman for NNPC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

NNPC’s swap contracts currently account for about 70 percent of the country’s imports while 30 percent is done through the spot market, one of the sources added.

The swap contracts, known as Direct Sale Direct Purchase, came into effect in July last year and were due to end after one year. They were already extended once earlier this year to December.

NNPC paired up foreign trading firms with local partners to do the swaps.

NNPC is separately in advanced discussions with some of the swap contract holders to invest in rehabilitating its refineries.

Two consortiums were picked earlier this year but ironing out the financing of the projects has been slow, sources said.

Fayose To Be Detained For Two Weeks As EFCC Obtains Court Order

There is a report that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has obtained a remand order from a Federal Capital Territory High Court to keep former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State for two weeks.

The PUNCH reports that the remand order is subject to renewal which implies that Fayose could spend longer than two weeks in custody.

It quoted a source as saying: “We have obtained a court order to hold Fayose for at least two weeks pending investigation. He could be released earlier or later than two weeks depending on the outcome of investigation.”

Fayose is under probe for allegedly receiving N1.3bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser through a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, during the build-up to the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State.

However, sources within the commission revealed that Fayose was also under probe for allegedly receiving kickbacks from government contractors through his aide, Abiodun Agbele, who is currently standing trial for fraud.

“We have many cases against Fayose being handled by three different teams. We cannot just arraign him immediately. We want to do a thorough job before taking him to court,” the EFCC source said.
