IPOB Leader Nnamdi Kanu Reveals Why He Left Nigeria For Israel

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has disclosed that he left Nigeria because he could not get the necessary protection from the court.

“I did not jump bail, I left because the court failed to protect me,” Kanu said in a live speech on Radio Biafra as broadcast via his Facebook page on Sunday.

Kanu, who said he was speaking from the holy land of Israel, spoke in English, but regularly spiced his speech with Igbo.

“What they are charging me does not exist. I don’t have any weapon. My only weapon is my microphone and my courage.”

The embattled IPOB leader was recently seen in the public in Jerusalem on Thursday after he went underground in September 2017 following the deployment of troops to the southeastern city of Umuahia.

His words: “I promised the Zoo that I will be coming to Biafra and I came. I do not recognise the court of the Zoo. I want the people of the Middle Belt to rise and join IPOB.

“IPOB Military intelligent evacuated me from my compound, when the Army of the Zoo attacked me. I am in Israel and the efficiency of MOSAD will be replicated in Biafra. We shall hunt everyone down to avenge the death of IPOB members.

“The Governor of Abia State directed the assault on my father, who is a Monarch. I thank Donald Trump and the government of Israel, who stood by IPOB in our time of need. I thank Prof Ben Nwabueze who stood by me.

“I want to send my solidarity to Ayo Fayose and assure him that Biafra will stand by him in this hour of need. We will have a special place for him in Biafra.

“I thank all my sureties that stood by me. My unavailability was forced on me.

“The Army of the Zoo killed my dog, Jack and few other people in my compound. I am sorry for what my sureties are passing through, but I want to assure them that they will have a special place in Biafra.

“I shall not be honouring the Court. The notion that I jumped bail is a fallacy in Law. I did not jump bail. On the 14th of September, 2017, the terrorists of the Zoo came to kill me. They know if I go to court Nigeria will burn and I was forced to leave. I did not jump bail.

“The Zoo called Nigeria cannot jail me. I will fight till the last day. Binta Nyanko court failed to ask the Nigerian Army why they invaded my home. Nigerian court is a Kangaroo court. I did not jump bail. I left because the court failed to protect me.

“I am not a Nigerian. I already renounced Nigeria in 2015. I am a Biafran with British nationality. I cannot be tried by a court I do not recognise. I do not recognise Nigeria. I can only come to the court with UN supervision.

“IPOB will liberate Biafra and we will not take part in any election, until we get a referendum and this is not negotiable. We will achieve this by every necessary means. We thank Isreal for all the contributions they made to IPOB.

“I owe my survival to the State of Israel.

“I decree that there is no longer South East or South South Nigeria. It shall be known as Biafra. Without referendum, nothing will happen in Nigeria. IPOB will not participate in any election and that position will never change.

“IPOB is the largest mass movement in the whole world. We will not stop until Biafra is fully restored.

“Chukwu Okike Abiama has assured me that Biafra shall come. All collaborators will feel the full weight of the anger of the Biafran people.

“I am coming back to Biafra land soon and I will bring hell with me, the way it has never been seen before.”

Boko Haram Slaughters 12 Farmers In Fresh Attack

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) on Sunday confirmed that 12 farmers were slaughtered while 1,300 others displaced in separate attacks coordinated by the Boko Haram insurgents in Borno.

The disclosure was made by Bashir Garga, NEMA’s Northeast Zonal Coordinator, in a statement in Maiduguri, the state capital.

According to him, the insurgents hacked the 12 farmers to death while working on their fields on Saturday afternoon at Kalle village, 17 kilometres away from Maiduguri.

“They used machetes to kill their victims who were working on their farms; as confirmed by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

“So far, we recovered 12 dead bodies from the fields and nearby bush.

“Three persons were injured in the raids. The insurgents had guns, but did not use them so as not to attract the attention of troops in the nearby Molai village,” he said.

Mr Garga said that the Boko Haram insurgents stepped up attacks on farmers and loggers in recent years because they accuse them of passing information to the military.

The coordinator disclosed further that one person was killed and 1,300 others displaced when the insurgents sacked three communities on Saturday night in Jere Local Government Area of the state.

He listed the affected communities to include Dala-Malari, Fuguri, and Femari.

He called on the people to be vigilant and report suspicious movements and persons to security agents.

“Attacks on soft targets is the hallmark of the insurgents’ due to increased military clampdown that has curtailed their activities.

“Humanitarian partners were being mobilized to cater for the victims as soon as possible,” he added.

Minimum Wage: Nigerian Labour Unions Announce Date For Nationwide Strike

Minimum Wage: Nigerian Labour Unions Announce Date For Nationwide Strike

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the United Labour Congress (ULC) have threatened to embark on an industrial action on November 6 if the Federal Government fails to meet their demands.

In a statement jointly signed by the NLC President, Ayuba Wabba; the TUC President, Bobboi Kaigama; and ULC President Joe Ajaero, the unions lambasted the Federal Government for its decision to implement a ‘no work, no pay’ policy.

The labour unions specifically said if the upward review of the national minimum wage was not acceded to by the governors and the Federal Government, they would have no other option but to go on strike.

The federal government had maintained that it will only increase the minimum wage from the current N18,000 to N24,000, claiming no amount was agreed with the labour leaders at a meeting of a tripartite committee also involving the private sector.

The labour unions, who initially demanded N50,000 mimimum wage, however, said they agreed to N30,000 during the negotiation.

“It is not true that we proposed N30,000 as the new national minimum wage,” the labour leaders said.

“It is also not true that the committee did not agree on a figure during its last sitting. We accepted N30,000 as a compromise to demonstrate the willingness of Nigerian workers to make sacrifices towards nation building,” the officials said.

The statement read in part, “If nothing is responsibly done by the Federal Government to meet our demands, on Monday, November 6, we shall embark on a nationwide strike to compel this government to show more sensitivity to the plight of Nigerians and the suffering that is decimating our people on daily basis.”

“A nation where the governments owes its workforce several months in arrears of unpaid salaries has not sought ways to eliminate it but is rather seeking ways to gag same workers from protesting this crime against them and their families.

“It is akin to beating a child and denying him the right to cry. Has the government considered ‘No Pay, No Work’?’ Has it considered criminalizing non-payment of workers; salaries? Has it considered paying arrears of salaries with interests?

“Of course, it has not! They are only interested in ‘no work, no pay’ seeking ways to constantly gag and put workers in a strait jacket has always been their pastime.”
