Ivan Gazidis has been confirmed as the new CEO of Italian side AC Milan.
At a board meeting on Wednseday, Ivan Gazidis was confirmed as the new man in charge of Serie A side AC Milan.
The former Arsenal CEO has signed a deal which will see him take the role until June 30, 2020.
After leaving Arsenal in September, after 10 years in charge, Gazidis said: “”I know many will think this is a strange time to be leaving but I believe it is the right time for me and the club.”
Since then, he has been in talks with AC Milan, who have undertaken an internal restructuring at boardroom level.
Gazidis oversaw a period of great change in North London; having appointed the successor to Arsene Wenger, after the long serving manager caled time on his 22 year ‘Gunners’ career.
“It’s a great honour to have been chosen to lead AC Milan into a new era as its chief executive,” Gazidis said in a video published by the Rossoneri.
“I’d like to assure the club’s millions of fans all over the world that I will work with my heart and soul to do the best job that I can.
“To achieve what we all want for this great football club, the hard work must start now, and it will require team work, both on and off the pitch.
“I’m extremely excited about the opportunities ahead. Although the journey will be challenging, I’m confident that, together, we can bring AC Milan back to where it belongs.”
