Drake Shows Off His New Acquired Private Plane “Air Drake”

Featured Image

Drake, has shared footage of his new private plane. Fittingly, the craft has been dubbed Air Drake.

“No rental, no timeshare,” Drake confirms in the Instagram clip, which serves as the latest reminder that air travel for us mere pedestrians is truly a shit experience. The 6 God also gives a quick tour of the inside of the massive sky vehicle, which comes complete with an also massive pair of praying hands emblazoned on the side.

A subsequent Yahoo report added some context to Drake’s big move into the skies. Drake has partnered with Canadian company Cargojet, who said in a press release Friday that they were “thrilled” to bring together two regional corporations with individual proven successes.

“Supporting home grown businesses has always been a top priority of mine, so when an opportunity came up to get involved with a great Canadian company I was honored to do so,” Drake, a longtime Cargojet champion, said.

While the craft itself seemingly marks a fresh build, the general “Air Drake” concept has its roots in a 2010 Virgin America stunt of the same name. Per an ancient Billboardreport at the time, Virgin temporarily turned an Airbus A320 into an “Air Drake” party co-hosted by Richard Branson and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The new Air Drake craft will likely stack up plenty of miles in the months ahead, with some fans currently convinced that we can expect a Drake feature on Taylor Swift’s upcoming album. Fans also have eyes on possible collabs in the works with Megan Thee Stallion and Chris Brown, the latter of which was recently heard in a snippet of a presumed Indigo cut.

Additionally, the world is still waiting for some sort of “Summer Games” visual, which has in no way been teased or otherwise mentioned by anyone at team Drake but stillneeds to be a thing that happens anyway.

Yaya Toure Announces His Retirement From Football At 35

Featured Image

Former Manchester City and Barcelona midfielder, Yaya Toure has officially retired from football at the age of 35.

His controversial agent Dimitri Seluk announced the news this morning and revealed the Ivorian superstar will now concentrate on a new career as a coach.

“I say this for the first time: Yaya decided to end his career as a champion,” Touré’s agent Dimitry Seluk told Russian outlet Sport 24 on Friday.

“The farewell match given to him by Manchester City, in principle, was the real end of his playing career. Not only in this team, but in general.

“Yaya is one of the best players in Africa and he had one of the brightest careers in the history of African football.

“We talked for a long time about this topic. Of course, every football player wants to play as long as possible. In terms of his physical condition, Yaya could do this at a sufficiently high level for another five years.

“But we came to the conclusion that he, the football player who played for Barcelona and Manchester City, could not lower the bar with his hands.

“We see many players who continue their careers at a sufficiently mature age, and this is commendable.

“But Yaya and I chose a different path: to leave as a champion and start a new stage in life – a career as a coach, in which, I am sure, Yaya will reach even greater heights than those he achieved as a football player.

“There are no African coaches in the English Premier League. I think.”

Touré who left Manchester City at the end of the 2017/18 season and became a free agent, joined Olympiacos in September 2018 for the second time in his career.

However, the former midfielder lasted just over three months at the Greek Superleague club before leaving by mutual agreement in December

Yaya Toure who started senior football career with Beveren in 2001, also played for Metalurh Donetsk, Olympiacos, Monaco, Barcelona and Manchester City.

‘Issa Goal’ crooner Naira Marley reportedly arrested by EFCC over controversail Statements

Featured Image

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Nigerian musician, Naira Marley, real name Afeez Fashola.

The fast-rising singer is currently being questioned at the EFFC office in Lagos.
Although the reason behind his arrest is yet to be made public, it might be in connection with his statements on social media which glorifies internet fraudsters, popularly called Yahoo boys.

The EFCC spokesperson could not be reached early on Friday, but a top source at the agency confirmed the arrest to PREMIUM TIMES.

Perhaps coincidentally, Naira Marley released the official video of his hit track, ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy’ featuring Zlatan on Thursday

Naira Marley during a recent Instagram live session, urged Nigerians to pray for internet fraudsters (Yahoo boys) saying they are the reason money circulates to the common man.
He said: “All you guys, all the money in your pockets, all the money you spend, you think it’s the government that is making the money go round?”
The video has since stirred reactions from Nigerians who described Marley as a disgrace and bad example to young Nigerians.

However, a few Nigerians have supported Marley, saying that Yahoo boys are the reason some Nigerians can eat and survive. The singer is popular for his 2017 hit song titled ’It’s a goal.’

Adeleke rejects verdict on Osun guber poll, heads to Supreme Court

Featured Image

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the 2018 Osun State governorship election, Ademola Adeleke, has declared he would contest yesterday’s Appeal Court verdict at the Supreme Court.

The court in Abuja had set aside an earlier judgment of the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal, which nullified the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola.

In a majority judgment of four to one, the court nullified the judgment of the tribunal delivered by Peter Obiorah on the grounds that Obiorah relied on the evidence of two witnesses, which he did not observe. Justice Jummai Sankey consequently declared the tribunal’s decision a nullity and set it aside.

But in a statement made available to newsmen in Osogbo, the Osun State capital yesterday, Adeleke said he received the judgment with dissatisfaction, vowing: “I have instructed my counsel to prepare for an appeal against today’s judgment at the Supreme Court immediately.”

He claimed the ruling “relied on a weak technical foundation” as “the substantive issue, which formed the basis of the lower tribunal’s judgment, was relegated to the background.”

He insisted: “We are reviewing the full ruling and action has already commenced to appeal the judgment and ensure the eventual retrieval of the stolen mandate.”

According to him, “We are taking the legal battle further to the topmost court in the land. I am confident the apex court will upturn today’s unsustainable ruling.”

He told members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State and his campaign organisation: “The struggle is now at the most critical stage. We cannot waiver or slow down. We must forge ahead in high spirit until final victory is attained.”

PDP national vice-chairman (southwest), Eddy Olafeso, also decried the judgment, saying: “We are certainly thinking, and importantly, in conjunction with our candidate, Ademola Adeleke, to exploit the only available option to us by appealing against this decision at the Supreme Court.”

In a statement issued to journalists in Akure, Ondo State capital, yesterday, he maintained that the “APC did not fairly win that election and President Buhari gave this view credence when he publicly described the victory of his party as ‘remote controlled’, thereby confirming that power privileges were criminally abused by his government and party.”

Similarly, the Osun State chapter of the party described the verdict as shocking, expressing optimism that the apex court would turn the tables.

“We have hope in the judiciary. That does not mean that once in a while there won’t be some hiccups in the judicial process. It is understandable and expected that all judges are not the same and they don’t think the same way. We believe that at the end of the day the Supreme Court will do justice to our case and victory will be ours,” party chairman, Soji Adagunodo, said in a statement.

But the All Progressives Congress (APC) welcomed the Appeal Court judgment. “There has been a lot of expectations and anxiety on both sides until this morning when the judgment was given in favour of the APC,” said Osun State APC spokesman, Kunle Oyatomi in a statement.

According to him, “This judgment has put the records straight much beyond the controversy over last November’s governorship election.” He added: “We believe it is time to move on and concentrate efforts on the transformation work that started in 2010 and which the people have mandated Governor Gboyega Oyetola to continue and improve upon.”

Oyetola meanwhile said the victory proved there was a limit to the extent falsehood and propaganda could thrive over truth and the will of the people.

Reacting to the judgment, he said: “After months of uncertainty and wait in judicial wilderness, truth has finally prevailed over falsehood and the voice of the majority has ultimately gained dominance over the phoney manipulation of an unscrupulous minority.”

He also thanked the people of the state for their “robust support and steadfastness throughout the needless periods of political travail and tribulation.”

Chelsea Defeat Frankfurt, To Face Arsenal In Europa League Final

Featured Image

Eden Hazard hit the winning penalty kick for Chelsea to beat Eintracht Frankfurt 4-3 in a shootout on Thursday to reach the Europa League final.

Chelsea will now meet fellow Londoners Arsenal in the final in Baku, Azerbaijan, on May 29.

The lively semi-final contest had finished 1-1 after the sides had produced the same scoreline in Frankfurt a week earlier.

Chelsea had looked in charge half an hour into the game when Hazard, tipped to leave the club this summer, dodged and shimmied round the Eintracht Frankfurt defence on the left.

He then pushed a perfectly-weighted pass into the path of Ruben Loftus-Cheek for the England midfielder to score in the 28th minute.

But three minutes after the break Luka Jovic split the defence, playing a neat one-two with Mijat Gacinovic before shooting home past stranded Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga to even the scoreline.

The visitors had the psychological advantage and pressed 2013 champions Chelsea with Luka Jovic, Ante Rebic and Danny da Costa constantly dangerous going forward looking for the invaluable second away goal.

At the other end Giroud, Willian and substitutes Davide Zappacosta and Gonzalo Higuain squandered chances for the home side.

This went on in an error-strewn last 20 minutes of normal time and frantic end-to-end half an hour of extra time.

Then, Arrizabalaga saved penalty kicks from Martin Hinteregger and Goncalo Paciencia in the shootout while Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta also saw his shot stopped.

Tottenham ‘One Of The Greatest Clubs Around’ After Champions League Miracle – David Ginola

Featured Image

David Ginola has said that Tottenham have all the parts in place to become a European powerhouse following their thrilling comeback against Ajax in the Champions League semi-finals.

Ginola, who played 100 games for Spurs, was talking after the North London club’s breathtaking victory saw them qualify for the Champions League final on Wednesday night.

The ex-France international winger believes that the Lilywhites are positioned to be dominant, as a result of prudent planning across all areas of the club.

“Every single person now realizes Spurs are one of the clubs to take into consideration,” Ginola told talkSPORT.

“Spurs have got every bits and pieces to be a great club. They have a great training centre, a great stadium and now they have a great team.

“The combination of [chairman] Daniel Levy, the club itself, [manager Mauricio] Pochettino, the players makes Spurs what they are now on the planet of football – one of the greatest clubs around.

“Pochettino has not spent a penny in the last year-and-a-half, probably the only team that have not spent a lot of money on players.

“This is the reward for stability, players getting to know each other in training, this is how you get results.”

In addition to praising Pochettino’s long-term vision, the 52-year-old, credited the Argentine for his crucial intervention at half-time in Wednesday’s game.

The Spurs boss introduced Fernando Llorente at the break, with his team seemingly down and out, trailing 3-0 on aggregate.

The Spanish striker was instrumental in Spurs’ comeback, with a Lucas Moura hat-trick in the second period seeing them through on away goals, and Ginola thinks that substitution encapsulates Pochettino’s abilities.

“Pochettino has been criticised so long about not winning any silverware, but his coaching, putting Llorente on, made the whole difference,” he continued.

“This is why Pochettino is a great manager, because he can see when the team is not performing well and he has the ability to change the team in a second.

“When Llorente went on all the lights went on as well – Son [Heung-min], [Dele] Alli, [Christian] Eriksen and Lucas Moura.

“It was the first time in the Champions League this year you saw Ajax struggling.

“They had great performances against Real Madrid and Juventus, but in the second half you could not recognize the players from Ajax.”

Tottenham face Liverpool in the Champions League final on June 1, and a win would see them fulfill what Ginola believes to be their destiny.
