Seun Kuti, the youngest son of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, and Egypt 80 have announced that they will release their fourth album ‘Black Times’ via celebrated UK label Strut Records on March 2, 2018.
It is understood that the upcoming 8-song album, which he did alongside the Egypt 80, features the likes of Carlos Santana and Robert Glasper.
Seun took to social media on Thursday to share the album’s title track and lead single “Black Times,” which plays like a potent afrobeat blend of soaring saxophones and guitar riffs.
Incensed by injustice just like his father, the new album honors the revolutionaries who have gone and also rallies the torchbearers to come.
Speaking on the album, he said: “Black Times is a true reflection of my political and social beliefs.”
“It is an album for anybody who believes in change and understands the duty we have to rise up and come together. The elites always try to divide the working class and the poor people of the world. The same oppression felt by workers in Flint, Michigan is felt by workers in Lagos and Johannesburg.”
“We are all capable of change, us iron people, us workers. Black Times is the sound of the people, and a weapon of the future. The big picture needs more colour.”

Nigerian superstar artiste, Wizkid has spoken on the growing issue of African artistes being underrated and undervalued by international award organizers.
During a recent press briefing, Wizkid made known his displeasure at the habit of presenting African artistes awards at the backstage instead of the main event like they do for international superstars. He however pointed out that, this usual act of ridicule constitute part of the reasons he doesn’t attend such award shows.
Wizkid however called on International community to give African artistes due respect just like they do for their international counterparts. According to him, despite discrimination, African artistes are still contented with the love received from Africans.
There seems to be no end in sight yet to the ongoing legal rift between G-Worldwide and Kiss Daniel. We earlier reported the response of Kiss Daniel’s Lawyer to the alleged breach of contract suit levelled against the artiste.
According to Kiss Daniel’s legal counsel, the court had not served them any letter or legal documents. In a recent development, his former label, G-Worldwide has accused Kiss Daniel and his legal team of trying to mislead the general public with wrong information.
While describing their action as unfortunate and disgraceful, G-Worldwide shared court papers that served to Kiss Daniel by The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, Nigeria.
Veteran Nollywood actress, Mrs. Joke Silva-Jacobs, has revealed that she was adopted by the late E.A Silva, a lawyer, and his late wife, Abimbola Silva over 5 decades ago from a foster home run by the Red Cross in Lagos.
The prominent and well respected Nigerian actress, now 56 years old, brought the revelation to light at the first Annual Conference of Heritage Adoption Support and Advocacy Group (HASAAG) in Lagos.
It is understood that her adopted parents were the late Chief E.A Silva, a reputable lawyer, the then Babajiro of Lagos and his wife late Dr Abimbola Silva, a pioneering female doctor, who died in July 2015.
Speaking at the occasion, which had the wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo in attendance, Mrs. Jacob gave an account of her experience as an adopted child.
She said, “Living in a foster home of the Red Cross in Yaba, Lagos, Everybody would be calling me whenever my adopted mum (Dr. Silva)came with cakes and a lot of things during her visit. I went to YWCA Nursery, which was not too far from the Silva’s home in Yaba. I also have memories of moving in with them when they moved to Glover Road in Ikoyi.
“I remember reading newspapers to my Dad in our sitting room and pronouncing Brig-General Aguyi Ironsi, the then Nigeria Head Of State, ‘Agolo Iresi!’ My father could not stop laughing at my hilarious interpretation of the newspaper. Also, I remember making them proud, when performing at St. Saviour School. My parents would be standing and were congratulated by other parents too for my acting skills. My parents were so excited that this child was incredibly talented.
“I remembered going out with my cousin and we met a big cousin. She introduced me as ‘my cousin’s daughter and this is Dr Silva’s daughter.’ Then, the older cousin was like, ‘Dr. Silva ke? Se Doctor Silva bimo ni? (Meaning does Dr. Silva have a child?) . Did Dr Silva ever have a child?
“I was so confused and when I got home I told my mum, ‘I met this lady that says you never had a child.’ My mum froze and she said, ‘don’t mind them, they are used to rubbish talk.’
“But I got to know years later when I wanted to travel and was looking for my passport where my mum kept it. Since she was not around, I opened the box in her absence and I saw my adoption papers. I never discussed it with my mum because I felt it was something that would hurt her that was why, it was kept secret from me.”
“Even in their wills, I was well protected. My daddy, being a lawyer said in his will, that all his children, both adopted and biological should be treated equally. I was not stressed in anyway. We were all well taken care of till my mum died at the age of 89.
“At 56, I still miss her but I know she has definitely gone back to her father. On her sick bed, I always sang her favorite tunes, she would be imputing the melodious tunes and she died singing to her Lord. She had prepared her family before my coming into her life because I had an incredible big Silva family.
“I have a very big family I am the first daughter, I carried the responsibility of a first daughter. Everybody in my family cannot take any decision until sister Joke has come. I can’t call my parents, adopted parents. They are my parents”

Celebrity designer and the CEO of Tiannah’s Empire, Toyin Lawani, has lifted the lid on what actually transpired between her and Nigerian Male-Barbie and Cross Dresser, Idris Okuneye, alias Bobrisky.
In an interview with Olisa TV, Lawani broke her silence on how she met Bobrisky and how a beautiful relationship exuded of fiduciary degenerated so badly to hate, threats and a trade of words reeked of ignominy.
She further said that she was warned by a close friend to stay away from Bobrisky as well as to immediately protect herself and her children spiritually as the cross-dresser had perfected plans to kill her.
According to her, shortly after the warning, Bobrisky came to her shop to give her a polythene bag that contained a white cloth and guinea fowl.
Lawani narrated that when the bag was delivered to her and she opened it, a few days later, she was admitted to the hospital.
Her words: Few days after I issued him a warning, Idris came to Tiannah’s Empire with a black polythene bag and the security guards prevented his entry. I went downstairs to ask what he wanted and he said he had come to apologise for his misdeeds. He handed me the polythene bag and when I opened it, I saw white clothes and a guinea fowl inside. I threw the bag on the floor and asked one of my employees, Dayo, to burn it while also warning Idris to never again visit me with such gifts.
I collapsed the next day and started bleeding heavily following which I was rushed to Ave Maria Hospital. I was informed the incident was linked to pre-existing concerns with fibroid but I believe it was caused by the diabolical items Idris brought as a supposed gift. I had a surgery and remained in the hospital for two months before I was discharged. As soon as I returned to work, Idris showed up at the Empire, saying he heard I was ill but that he came for cash as the bank did not pay him because they could not reach me to confirm the cheque while I was hospitalized. I took the cheque from him and gave him cash then bid him bye.
Speaking on her first encounter with Bobrisky, Lawani said:
Bobrisky came to Tiannah’s Empire as a customer sometime in 2015 and pleaded with my attendants that he wanted to meet me as he needed some remedy for his bad skin. After administering treatment on the skin and was cured of his skin irritations, he testified that people would not stop asking about where and how he got his skin treated. He then told me he was a student at University of Lagos (UNILAG) and would love to market Tiannah’s Glow natural products. As he was a living testimony, I began by giving him some of the products and allowed him earn 40 percent on the products he sold. I also recommended a full body polish via Tiannah’s spa which helped to treat his skin infections and cleared his dark knuckles. I also advised him on how to take care of his body odour as my clients started complaining and would usually have to spray air fresheners every time he stepped into the fashion floor at the Empire. He took offence that I advised him about his body odour but the truth was that it was really bad and caused us a lot of embarrassment at some events including a top society wedding he forced himself to attend with me.
He worked with me for only about two months but even in that time period, he caused a lot of harm than good… He was also manipulative and was always trying to cause problems between me and my staff or friends. On one occasion, we went out together and there were complaints about his appearance which I told him about. I subsequently received a text message from an unknown number expressing admiration for Idris and his eyelashes, also asking me to introduce them. I suspected he sent the message because he spelt ‘lashes’ as ‘latches’ having seen him make the same mistake several times publicly so I confronted him. He initially denied it but subsequently admitted and apologised following which I banned him from entering my Empire again. At that point, I realised I needed to put him at arm’s length. It also coincided with the time a lady came to my store to allege that Idris claimed to be the one mixing my beauty products for me. It was a ridiculous claim because my mother started the business over twenty (20) years ago and it has grown beyond the phase of mixing products with hands. We have machines doing all of that in our factory.
Reacting to allegations made by Bobrisky that she (Lawani) allegedly swindled him (Bobrisky) of the sum of N250,000 she said:
He was owing my company almost N200,000 around the time after repeatedly buying clothes on credit and I informed him that I would use the money he paid towards the purchase of the speakers as his balance which would leave him with a balance of N65,000 and I gave him a cheque for that amount.
On Bobrisky saying he paid N26,000 for Toyin’s meal she said
I reached out to Idris to reprimand him but he only responded with threats. I initially dismissed the threats but I had to eventually report to the police when I noticed strange cars trailing my kids and I on different occasions. He has also been trying to pull down my brand, sending messages to my clients that I sell substandard materials to them or that I intend to have affairs with their spouses. He also falsely claimed that I was not paying my staff, of which I have almost 100 members of staff working for me, who I also support in many ways such as sending their kids to school and starting businesses for them. None of my workers can honestly claim I owe them salaries, so I really had no choice but to report Idris to the police.
Meanwhile, Bobrisky is yet to react to this as of the time of filing this report.
Counsel to Nigerian singer, Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe popularly known has Kiss Daniel has responded to the ealier circulated legal publication by G-Worldwide accusing the singer of breach of his 7 years contract with the label.
In a fresh document issued by Kiss Daniel’s lawyer, it was revealed that Kiss Daniel formally terminated his contract with G-Worldwide Entertainment Ltd through a letter on the 30th of October, 2017. The termination was said to have been done in complaince with the provisions of the Recording Contract between the artiste and the record label.
Here is the response from Kiss Daniel’s Lawyer Below;
Like it or not, the subject of love remains a sensitive discussion further complicated by intertribal ties. These complications rise to another level when there is a racial undertone to those ties.
Tell that to the birds, say Nonso and Deardre; the new love interests in The Wedding Party sequel. After exploring the intertribal sphere with Dozie and Dunni in the first part, the writers of The Wedding Part 2: Destination Dubai are kicking things up a notch – or two.
At the same time, interracial marriages are not new at all. Prince Harry’s recent engagement to Meghan Markle is just the most recent in a string of unions that continue to break walls and build bridges. In the end, the courage it takes to cross racial and cultural boundaries in the name of love must not only be lauded but encouraged. Global unity will come to us one couple at a time.
Astonishing performances from King Sunny Ade, Seyi Shay, Reekado Banks & Kaline and a chance to win a 7-day all-expense paid trip to Dubai for Best Arabian Outfit on the night; all these and more await you at the worldwide premiere of The Wedding Party 2: Destination Dubai.
This is one night you don’t want to miss.
Meanwhile, check out pictures of some of our favorite interracial couples.

Just fewweeks after his exit from his former Label, G-Worldwide Entertainment to launch a new label, Flyboy INC, Kiss Daniel has been dragged to court by his former label on the grounds of contract breach.
A statement signed by the legal counsel to G-Worldwide revealed that Kiss Daniel signed a 7 year recording contract with the label and has unapologetically breached the contract by appointing a new manger, soliciting for shows, entering performance agreements and continues the use of stage name “Kiss Daniel” without any permission whatsoever from the label.
Meanwhile, you will recall that Kiss Daniel’s former label mate, Sugarboy had given a hint concerning G-Worldwide’s plan to engage in legal battle with the singer.
Here is the Transcript of the law suit below;
The attention of G-Worldwide Entertainment Limited (‘the Company’) has been drawn to acts by Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe (alias ‘Kiss Daniel’), who recently has been making publications on different print media and social media platforms soliciting for bookings to perform songs from his album NEW ERA and EVOLUTION. Mr. Anidugbe executed a 7-year Recording and Artist Management Contract (’the Contract’) with the Company in 2013 and which Contract is still subsisting.
“Contrary to the express provisions of the Contract, Mr. Anidugbe has taken steps to appoint a new manager, solicited for bookings, and has continued to negotiate and enter performance agreements in respect of the songs from the album NEW ERA, and EVOLUTION which is set to be released soon containing singles such as YEBA, FOR YOU, SENORITA, SOFA and others, both produced under the Contract, including using the stage name ‘Kiss Daniel’ without the Company’s prior consent and permission.
Further thereto, the Company has approached the Federal High Court, Lagos in suit no. FHC/L/CS/1758/2017 between G-WORLDWIDE ENT. LIMITED Vs OLUWATOBILOBA DANIEL ANIDUGBE to affirm its rights over the intellectual property under the Contract i.e. copyrights over the songs in both albums, and rights over the stage name: ‘Kiss Daniel’.
By an application dated 20th November 2017, the Company sought interim orders of injunction, and other further orders as the Court may deem fit to make, against Mr. Anidugbe, retraining the Artiste’s further distribution, publication, or performance of these songs, or negotiating or entering any agreement thereof without the consent or permission of G-Worldwide Entertainment Ltd.
The general public and the whole world is hereby put on notice that on the 30th day of November 2017, the Federal High Court made an order that status quo ante bellum under the Contract, be maintained by the parties, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed in the suit.
The import of the Order being that the state under which the parties existed under the Contract should be preserved until the Court makes a determination of the motion on notice filed by the Company. All and any dealings in respect of the upload, distribution, and or performance of any of the songs, as well as the use or exploitation of the name ‘Kiss Daniel’ can therefore only be entered or made with the prior written consent and permission of the Company as provided under the Contract.
The general public and the whole world is further cautioned that as the matter is now before a Court of law (subjudice), and following the Order to maintain status quo, any unauthorized upload, distribution, exploitation, performance, sales, and use of the songs (from the NEW ERA and EVOLUTION albums), or stage name ‘Kiss Daniel’, in any show, event, downloading or streaming platform, will be in violation of the Order of the Federal High Court.
Anyone who does or continues to do so shall be liable as an accomplice for contempt of court, and the full weight of the law will be brought against that person as a contemnor.
Early this year,Mr. Eazi incurred the wrath of music lovers in Nigeria after giving himself credit for the ongoing synergy of Ghana-Nigeria sound. Also, his claims to have left a highly paid oil company job for music sparked unpleasant reactionsfrom Nigerians.
All these statements and ugly public feedbacks seem to have caused Mr.Eazi to become almost unpopular in the Nigerian music scene.
While reacting to the issue in a recent interview with HipTV, Mr Eazi declared that the love Nigerians have for him has never diminished. He also maintained that all he has said was just a deliberate attempt to tease Nigerians.
