FIFA To Strip Qatar & Russia Of World Cups If Found Guilty Of Bribery

Featured Image

The 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups will have different hosts if Russia & Qatar are found guilty of bribery.

The entirety of the world football governing body is being investigated for corruption, including its procedure of awarding World Cup hosting rights.

The independent chairman of FIFA’s audit and compliance committee, Domenico Scala, has revealed that if indeed Russia and Qatar bribed to get their World Cup hosting rights, it would be withdrawn from them.

“If evidence should emerge that the awards to Qatar and Russia only came about thanks to bought votes, then the awards could be invalidated,” Scala said in an interview published on Sunday. “This evidence has not yet been brought forth.”

Scala also talked about the idea of introducing a maximum number of terms for the FIFA presidency.

“If a FIFA president does two or three cycles that is enough,” Scala said.

Valencia Make Valdes Bid, Manchester United Reject

Featured Image

Victor Valdes has had to get used to playing behind David De Gea at Manchester United and with the younger Spaniard possibly leaving, Valdes actually has a chance to become the first choice at Manchester United. But Valencia are also interested in the 33 year old.

Valencia reportedly enquired about his availability by from Manchester United who are currently unwilling to let any goalkeeper go but might have to in the summer. Manchester United rejected Valencia request claiming that the former Barcelona shot stopper was not available for sale and is still very much part of Louis Van Gaal’s plans.

Valdes might still be playing as the second choice goalkeeper next season as Manchester United are reportedly searching for a replacement for De Gea, proving they do not really have confidence in the 33 year old Spanish international currently deputizing for De Gea.

Belgium Beat France 4-3 In Friendly

Featured Image

Three minutes from half time, Fellaini made it two for himself and Belgium as he rose well at the back post to power in Alderwied’s cross. Belgium started the second half still on the front foot but France started to put their act together but 5 minutes after the restart, Naiggolan fired Belgium into a 3-0 lead with a low shot from just outside the penalty area. Valbuena pulled one back for France in the 53rd minute from the penalty spot after Lombarts brought Giroud down in the box. One minute later, it was 4-1 as it was Hazard’s turn to score a penalty after Koscielny brought Witsel down in the box. Belgium slowed the pace of the game down and in the 89th minute Fekir fired in a wonderful volley to make it 4-2, in injury time, Payet curled a wonderful shot into the net to make it 4-3 but it was too little too late for France.

Krautzun, who worked with Klopp at Mainz told goal.com that the German would be very interested in managing Manchester United and that it would be hard for the former Dortmund manager to say no to the “red devils”. ‘He once told me, that one day, when it does not fit with Dortmund anymore, Manchester United would be his club,’ he told Goal.com ‘But at this moment the job is taken. Sucking Up: Hernandez Praises Benitez

Featured Image

It is clear that Manchester United don’t want Javier Hernandez anymore. The Mexican’s actions today showed just how much he wants to stay at Real Madrid as he praised newly hired manager, Rafa Benitez, the man with the ability to make his Real Madrid move permanent.

Hernandez struggled to get his Real Madrid season going but towards the end, became a good enough for Real Madrid and scored some important goals. Ancelotti made no moves to make Chicharito’s move to Real Madrid permanent and with the arrival of Benitez, the Manchester United man’s future is still in the balance. Hernandez admitted this to reporters before going on to praise Benitez, calling him a good manager. “Ancelotti was my coach but now Benitez is there. He doesn’t have to speak to me because I was on loan from Man United. He told Reuters “But I am very calm because, thankfully, the last two months at Madrid were very good and showed a lot of things. That gave me a lot of confidence for my future. I think that Rafa knows me. He is a really good coach and I think he will do a great job at Madrid.” Hernandez had earlier stated that he loved playing for Real Madrid, a club he describes as the best in the world

Hernandez would love to carry on at Real Madrid but it seems unlikely that the “little pea” would be returning to Old Trafford whether Madrid choose to buy him or not.

Low Believes Juventus Can Stop MSN

Featured Image

Germany coach Joachim Low believes that Juventus are well equipped to neutralize Barcelona’s trident attack of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi.

Barcelona and Juventus are on the verge of securing notable trebles in the UCL final holding in Berlin later today, as both teams have already secured domestic doubles.

Despite the fact that Barcelona are favorites, Low expects the match to be tight.

“Everyone believes that Barcelona is favourite but it will be very difficult. Juve know how to react to players like Messi, Neymar and Suarez,” Low told Uefa in Berlin.

“Barcelona are in good shape, with no injuries. I think in the end they will prevail narrowly. They are full of world-class players.”

The 2014 World Cup-winning coach went on to add that he is looking forward to an intriguing tactical clash in which both teams will take a very different approach.

“It will be a bit of a struggle of systems,” he said.

“An Italian team with a good defensive organisation against a Spanish team with great offensive quality. Although Juve are a team that don’t only defend – they can attack, too.”

Evra Intends To Shake Hands With Suarez

Featured Image

Juventus defender, Patrice Evra has said he will shake hands with Barcelona’s forward, Luis Suarez when Juve face Barca in the UCL final, later today.

When both players were in England, Suarez in Liverpool and Evra in United, Suarez was found guilty of racially abusing the Frenchman and received a ban.

Upon Suarez’s return, the Uruguayan snubbed Evra in the pre-match handshakes. Despite the animosity, Evra has said he will shake hands with Suarez.

“I will shake his hand – I am a professional,” the Frenchman told Sky Sports.

“Like I’ve said many times, I’m proud of my colour and it doesn’t matter. I’m playing against Barcelona, I’m not playing just against Luis Suarez.

“Every player in the team, they will feel me, because I will play a really important game.”

Evra also revealed his surprise at the workload expected of players in Italy, insisting he has never felt better.

“It was a shock at the beginning because, to be fair, I did not expect the way Juventus Football Club were working,” the 34-year-old added. “They work really hard.

“I think the training sessions are more difficult than the game. In pre-season I remember the manager [Massimiliano] Allegri always asking me ‘Pat, are you OK’ – I was always saying ‘for the moment I’m still alive’. And it was true, because it was difficult. I’d never worked so hard in my life.

“It’s a great experience because, even for my age now, I feel like I’m more powerful than when I was younger. I qualify myself like a bottle of wine – the more I get older, the more it tastes sweet!”

Reports: Van Gaal Wants Schweinsteiger

Featured Image

Manchester United are still looking to bolster their midfield and Van Gaal is looking not just to add quality but experience to their side as Van Gaal is reportedly keen on signing Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Schweinsteiger has suffered with injury challenges this season and his Bayern Munich future has been in doubt and with youngsters like Rode quickly climbing up the ladder at the Allianz Arena, Schweinsteiger could be on his way out. Van Gaal who has worked with Schweinsteiger before, during the Dutchman’s time at Bayern is looking to bring the former Germany international to Manchester and add him to a midfield that has probably seen too much of Rooney this season, something Van Gaal wants to correct. Van Gaal knows that Scheiwsteiger would not be in his long term plans but if he stays fit, he could be very helpful in the short term.

Bastian Schwiensteiger and Bayern Munich have made no comments about the midfielder’s future but according to reports from Munich, Schweinsteiger’s future hangs in the balance.

Manchester United Ready To Make Kane Bid

Featured Image

Manchester United are still looking to bolster their attacking options and the Old Trafford side have made Harry Kane their primary attacking target as the Tottenham breakout star is viewed by Van Gaal as the best attacking option in England.

Manchester United are reportedly willing to use cash, Nani, Chicharito and even Januzaj if need be to bring Tottenham to the negotiation table. Manchester United are reportedly willing to put up 50 million pounds for the Spurs academy graduate. Kane could become the most expensive British player but Tottenham insist he is not for sale. Van Gaal who views Nani and Chicharito as surolus to requirements is also willing to loan out Januzaj out, an option that Tottenham considered in January. Van Persie is also reported to be unsettled at Manchester United as the player revealed that he was in a perculiar situation at Old Trafford. Manchester United would really be desperate to bring in a forward after shedding the 290,000 pounds a week financial weight that was Radamel Falcao.

Even though Tottenham insist thatKane is not for sale at whatever price, we’ve heard the same stories before about Modric and Bale and both players ended up moving so, Manchester United fans would keep their fingers crossed.
